  1. So, I suggested fluffy ears in the last community voting. It didn't get enough votes though, so I thought I would suggest it again with some art I did. They would be floppy (just because I'd love some more ear variety) and the stats would be: +2 cold resistane -1 heat resistance. +2 hearing (a little less hearing than normal cause of all the fluff!) +1 Smelling (I saw someone suggest this) I would really like to hear what people think. Also, digital art is not my strong point so I apologise for the awful drawing.

  2. Oh no. That sounds like we have to wait even longer but I am already so hyped up ^^ I mean not that I would mind being an extra early tester *cough cough

  3. We are still missing 2 bears (which we are currently working on) and one more gene ^^

  4. Uh... I think what you are suggesting is heterochromia, which means each eye is a different colour. I like this suggestion, however I'm pretty sure heterochromia has zero ties to behaviour or "distemper", so it would be a purely appearance-changing mutation in the game, just like it is in real life, if it were to be implemented.

  5. Thought it would be nice to have a place to post screenshots of all your favorite creatures, here are some of mine:

  6. Hello all! What are you going to college for / what topics interest you? Personally, I'm working towards a Bachelor's degree in nursing. It took me a while to settle on a major because I have many interests, particularly in the sciences. Biology, more specifically genetics, is my favorite field of study. I am going to be breeding leopard geckos, ball pythons, and a few other species of reptiles on the side so I can explore this aspect of biology closely. It's baffling how many different phenotypes can be produced from these animals, since a lot of mutations affecting color have been discovered so far. I've always loved animals and the reasoning behind their traits. In short, science is super cool and I thoroughly enjoy it.

  7. So in the next update we're getting a super neat call in which a nicheling can sit on a tree stump and makes a call to attract other wild nechlings, and your chance of success is raised with lower populations. I was thinking an additional use could be that when your creature makes this call they get a temporary buff that "highlights" nichelings of the opposite sex with compatible immunity genes. The buff would last a few days and, when selected, the nicheling that made the call can see nichelings with completely different immunity genes highlighted on their smell-vision. When that nicheling isn't actively selected, no highlight! Perhaps it could work with friendly bearyenas as well, where you have no way of knowing whether or not they'll pass on similar immunity genes until after you've already mated. I figured this addition could be useful to people with larger populations (and friendly bearyenas), where clicking through tons of nichelings to find a pair that's compatible can be a little tedious and make it just a little more fun to run our tribes. It would also more-easily bring to attention when, whoops, you only have one immunity-compatible couple left, better think of something quick!

  8. I was messing around with commands, and came across the Switchgender command. So I played with it and ended up getting a pregnant male. Does this count as a bug even though I used commands?

  9. Batteries should be explosive, and fuel should be flammable (burning damaging enemies and the drone). This serves a dual purpose, Makes the game more dynamic and increases creativity in building. You need to decide if you want to build in a more volatile way, or a more safe way. Just adds more variability between drones.

  10. I am currently studying comparitive literature, with some skandinavian studies and german language thrown in there as well though I want to become an author. I also had some trouble deciding what exactly I wanted to study (Biology or something with languages) the fact that I need some math to do biology then made me settle on languages though I am still kind of thinking about maybe switching to biology ^^

  11. You still have this drone to share? or could you tell me some of how you made it? This is my favorite drone out of this thread.

  12. Heterochromia, like @Draconiya mentioned is indeed the mutation that you're talking about here. Heterochromia is a phenotypic mutation, meaning that it affects only the physical, observable traits of an organism. Heterochromia is indeed something that I and many others I'm sure would like to have in the game, but I think that in the last community voting it wasn't in the top recommendations so it wasn't implemented into the game if I'm not mistaken. Maybe in the future it will once again be a consideration and option for the second community voting

  13. Animals with prehensile tails such as possums usually lack the ability to actually climb with said tails. Maybe instead of being able to climb with the tail to reach the tops of trees, they can hang from a branch temporarily in order to escape from ground dwelling predatory species? It would be more accurate to the mechanics of species that can hang from their tails. Love the suggestion, take an upvote for the road!

  14. I cannot reset them from here To give you the option to reset the achievements we would need to add a Command you can enter in the game console so it will reset.

  15. Im working on getting a Bachelor in Vet Tech or Vetionary Science. I am going into the collage this Aguest. I cant wait to get there either! I have way more knowledge on animals than the average person because i would go into the vet clinic when i was little and watched my mother work on animals ive even seen surgrys done on animals when i was only 2 years old. So i love animals since ive been raised around them my entire life. I am able to calm down animals easily and i am able to tell how the animal is feeling easily.

  16. I studied game design (Bachelor and Master). But it was very hard for me too choose between game design and biology. So I made a deal with myself to make a biology game as my final thesis for my game design studies. And that's how Niche was born ^^
