  1. True, but I feel like that might make you too reliant on wanderers without actually addressing the problem (if that makes sense). For example, wanderers likely have vastly different genes from what is currently in your tribe. If you kept constantly running into the "I ran out of males/females" problem then it will be harder to achieve breeding goals when you have to pause every now and then to breed out the undesirable genes from all the wanderers you're bringing in. (Ex: you find another male for you're female-only tribe...and no males are born to replace him when he dies) Of course, if you're desperate then there's really no room to complain that said savior wanderer is derpy and deformed or ill-equipped for the climate when you're on the brink of extinction and losing your island progress. I feel like there should be some line between realism and frustrating game mechanics though, where just because it's realistic doesn't mean it makes the game more enjoyable or benefits it. Not to say that this small problem makes the game unplayable and terrible or anything, but it's an annoyance that I keep running into. (sorry if this sounds mean btw, it isn't intended to be)

  2. I hope that you make the female peacock tail just be like a tiny little nub with feathers, that would be adorable.

  3. I was wondering maybe you guys can make a new creature that represents ticks. It is like the leaches except they are not found in the water and they are (possibly) harder to kill because ticks in real life are almost impossible to squish. They can be mainly found near trees. Nichelings with beak or nimble fingers can collect food out of them.

  4. I'd love to see wanderers and rogues defend themselves like Adam's tribe does. It'd be a lot more difficult to defend your food sources from wanderers and to defend your females from rogues. And after all it is more realistic.

  5. It annoys me a little that you're able to see fish on your vision sensors and find underwater dig sites only if you're standing next to them, but unable to see them when entering the smell/hearing screens. So as a solution that's both realistic and useful game-wise, I think the platypus beak and gills should be able to detect electric currents in the water. A platypus' beak has a whole bunch of sensors in them that allow them to utilize "electroreception," which just means they can sense electric currents to locate prey. Sharks also share this type of "sixth sense" in their snouts, which also helps make them excellent predators! I figured this change would work much like smell or hearing would, entering the screen would put a green highlight around prey (or predator), entities in the nearby tiles. It would make it easier to find dig sites for our platypus-beaked nichelings rather than the current method of hoping-you-happen-to-be-right-next-to-it. Maybe for the cases of fish, where there's no grass or anything that really "blocks" your sight of them, the electric currents can leave a trail outside your current sight-range that's stronger the closer you are to the schools of fish, and grows weaker (and eventually disappearing completely), the further away you are. It would also be an ability exclusive to the platypus beak and gills which would make them much more valuable to shoot for when making a water-dwelling tribe!

  6. here we have the "Gecko tail" were it would look like a gecko's (leopard gecko, crested gecko etc...) tail and its ability is it can fall off if it is being attacked by a bearyna, ape balance bear, etc. saving it from being attack just that one move. It can grow back after a few amount of days (around 3 or 4) and each stage of it growing back would look different. I suggested this because most geckos in real life uses this as a defence mechanism! It would be harder to get that most tails. You can unlock this gene by inviting a nicheling into the tribe that has it. It would also save a baby from being taken away from a bird if the tail is full grown! Obviously once the bird trys to take it away once, it would fall of then. Also I have a question: How do you add pictures?

  7. Hi, this is the wrong bug forum. This is for Niche and is on Nimbatus. Don’t worry about it, it happens all the time. Anyways, console controls are not an actual part of the game and will not be fixed. It’s also always important to back up your save files just in case anything is game breaking.

  10. I really think this is not a bug. Its sexual dimorphism, females dont have a tail while males do. Even if its a bug, I think it looks nice.

  12. During the little "Story Mode" scene there are a few questionable things that happened. 1. The music where the bird comes and takes adam is not working properly; Its keep on going on and off. and... 2. Where Adam sits there after landing on new land, his breathing goes up then the scene glitches backwards a little bit, and does the same little part again, and again, and again... Sorry I didn't capture any screenshots

  13. I've prepared gifs to compare side-by-side conventional steering, and (my own design) steering with few logic gates. Drones have same amount of fuel and thrusters, they are just placed a bit different, also the bottom one's weight is higher by 5 logic gates.

  14. Thanks for reporting. We've heard of this problem before. It only seems to happen on a few computers and we haven't been able to figure out the problem yet. We'll keep looking!

  20. I have a tribe of creatures with all genes in the mutation menu unlocked, would anyone like if I shared the save file? Currently the tribe is just a bunch of dalmations since I was doing the 101 dalmations challenge, they have a whole load of food, I believe around 1800, more or less. They're fairly healthy all with normal eyesight, normal blood clotting and high fertility. This save file is in the first slot, so would anybody be interested if I shared the save file?

  21. Hello Everyone, My name is DeathBySuburban, Death for short. I'm a gamer and aspiring YouTuber, from SouthEast Texas. I built my current computer only 2 years ago, and have upgraded it many times since. I'm fascinated by all aspects of computers, although I do wish I knew as much about programing (of any kind) as I do about hardware. I saw Lathrix playing Nimbatus, and instantly went and downloaded the demo. I've been hooked every since, and really hoping to get access to the Closed Alpha!!! 🤤 Also my favorite Anime is Bleach (Yes, I know it's cliché, but I like it) and my favorite character on Bleach is Kenpachi Zaraki (Shocking right? I know you where expecting Ichigo Kurosaki, wern't you?)

I'm a bit of a nerd for many things (I geek out whenever someone mentions warrior cats XD) and I've been playing niche since it was in early access, currently playing the newest update on the preview branch. Not much else to say really

  24. Hello, I am Gryffbirb, but you can call me Gryff or Birb, whichever you prefer! I am a 26 year old artist that loves playing Niche to relax. I may not be the greatest player, but I have fun with it. I am so far loving what all it has to offer, including the update beta. I also will have to look into the new game you all are doing soon as well since I had no idea you all were doing another one!

I like to watch indie animes but have not been watching much recently. I am also going into 8th grade next year.

  26. What's up?! I'm James from the obnoxious state of Texas in the USA. I write code for fun and hold math and computer sciences and my career preferences. Currently working on code for Open Hexagon (one of my favorite games) with my best friend. To be fair, I'm a sucker for open source projects (one could say I'm "open to open source").

  28. Hello, I am Hudson, one of the squishiest squids around, and I love both Niche and Nimbatus. I tinker with coding and making games for my friends. Sadly, my tentacles make it hard. P.S. Forgot to mention that Bob Ross is my idol.
