  1. We planned to add two pairs of wings for this update but ran out of time. Maybe we'll add them later, but not sure yet.

  3. I can't believe I've missed the update, Its a bit sad than we cant buy the game yet on steam, I've already spent way too much hours in this game so a new update is really good news for me :D

  4. A scroll for the family tree has actually already been suggested in the Family Tree thread. It has gone unnoticed recently because it was suggested on April 7th and fallen back to page 7, but it is still there. I want it very much, almost more than anything else, and I hope it is implemented this time.

  5. I was wondering maybe you guys can make a new creature that represents ticks. It is like the leaches except they are not found in the water and they are (possibly) harder to kill because ticks in real life are almost impossible to squish. They can be mainly found near trees. Nichelings with beak or nimble fingers can collect food out of them.

  6. This suggestion is pretty cut and dry and like a year old, but oh well Like Rogue Males, there could be Lonely Ladies who carry similar genes as Rogue Males, mate with your male nichelings, and steal nests like dodomingos in order to have those babies, which will then either become Lonely Ladies or Rogue Males depending on their gender, though they will follow her around in the tile behind her like a bearyena and her cub until they're old enough to wander away. Rogue Males and Lonely Ladies won't mate with each other, though; just your nichelings. Also if you leave a baby unattended, the Lonely Ladies will take them away, and the baby will follow her around like her own Rogue/Lonely baby, but instead of going Rogue/Lonely once they're adults, they'll turn into Wanderers that you can invite into your tribe. If you want to take your baby back before then, like immediately after she steals it away, then you'll have to kill her.

  7. question: how cold can the mountains get? this has been answered, credit to Philo. now i want to know how hot can each jungle and the 2 savanna biomes get? this has been answered, credit to Philo, again. just for general knowledge. @Philo sorry for the invasion of questions.

  9. here we have the "Gecko tail" were it would look like a gecko's (leopard gecko, crested gecko etc...) tail and its ability is it can fall off if it is being attacked by a bearyna, ape balance bear, etc. saving it from being attack just that one move. It can grow back after a few amount of days (around 3 or 4) and each stage of it growing back would look different. I suggested this because most geckos in real life uses this as a defence mechanism! It would be harder to get that most tails. You can unlock this gene by inviting a nicheling into the tribe that has it. It would also save a baby from being taken away from a bird if the tail is full grown! Obviously once the bird trys to take it away once, it would fall of then. Also I have a question: How do you add pictures?

  10. No the release preview branch also works on Mac and Linux. The only place we don't do Betas is on GoG.

  11. Yep, I believe it was said on their Twitter.

  12. I think that you would need collecting to gather honey. They could try, but they would have a change of breaking the hive. (all these nichelings have one bearyena claw)

  13. i think there shoud be a limit of drones you can post because its kind of annoying that some poeple send in 100 drones

  17. @crazybrownmittens I don’t think I understand what you mean, could you clarify? When you program in a color/color set, it keeps the same color. Any programmed in colors would appear on the pop-up for the color cycle as well.

  18. maybe the tribe mates with beak or nimble fingers can remove them and get food

  21. Hi, this is the wrong bug forum. This is for Niche and is on Nimbatus. Don’t worry about it, it happens all the time. Anyways, console controls are not an actual part of the game and will not be fixed. It’s also always important to back up your save files just in case anything is game breaking.

  23. I've prepared gifs to compare side-by-side conventional steering, and (my own design) steering with few logic gates. Drones have same amount of fuel and thrusters, they are just placed a bit different, also the bottom one's weight is higher by 5 logic gates.

  24. Just press it once, it will then show a creating GIF text in the bottom right of the screen. You could try to change the speed of the gif by uploading it here: https://ezgif.com/speed

  25. True, but I feel like that might make you too reliant on wanderers without actually addressing the problem (if that makes sense). For example, wanderers likely have vastly different genes from what is currently in your tribe. If you kept constantly running into the "I ran out of males/females" problem then it will be harder to achieve breeding goals when you have to pause every now and then to breed out the undesirable genes from all the wanderers you're bringing in. (Ex: you find another male for you're female-only tribe...and no males are born to replace him when he dies) Of course, if you're desperate then there's really no room to complain that said savior wanderer is derpy and deformed or ill-equipped for the climate when you're on the brink of extinction and losing your island progress. I feel like there should be some line between realism and frustrating game mechanics though, where just because it's realistic doesn't mean it makes the game more enjoyable or benefits it. Not to say that this small problem makes the game unplayable and terrible or anything, but it's an annoyance that I keep running into. (sorry if this sounds mean btw, it isn't intended to be)

  26. True, but considering that rogues usually are very weak, and you don't have all that much reason to attack wanderers, it'd just be a matter of making sure you don't attack powerful wanderers mostly.

  29. If identcal twins are born with spots, their spots will look different
    1 point
  30. Yes, spots are the only pattern that also get a random value, aditionally to the genetics. Maybe we should make sure to use the same random value if twins are born ^^

  31. Don't be discouraged Currently there are about 850 entries, so the chances are roughly 1/850 to be picked. This might be low, but compared to winning the lottery it's astronomically better Don't forget that we steadily have a Gif competition going on. While you have to create a Gif (with the Demo version), the odds of winning there are much higher. Give it a try I wish you all good luck and thank you all for your interest in Nimbatus ❤️

  32. I noticed that the two sounds are identical except for pitch. Are they male and female versions?

  33. I definitely want more options for names. I once had twins who had the same name generated.

  34. You can use them for example to make a snake. I did this in my video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjyOa6k3gio but basically you can use the springs to make your vehicle move more like an actual snake by connecting up all of the different parts of it together.

  35. That sound like the eperimental branch we had once. And that is not exactly how adaption in the darwin theory works. The parents don't adapt but random mutations are either beneficial for the environment or they are not. If they are the creature has more offspring and the gene gets passed on (let's say one of your creatures mutates big body and you are in the mountains you'll probably make sure that that creature has lots of children while the lean bodied creature probably won't have as many). That is what we like to call 'adapting'. In addition to that changes of the genes have to change the gametes as well (like sperma cells) which usually doesn't happen because they are already finished when a creature reproduces and grows up. So the parents might be used to the cold but the change in their normal body cells wouldn't usually carry over to the gametes and therefor to their children. I don't want to bash your idea or anything. That is just how Niche works currently (and most of the biology in the world). I like Philos idea that x babies have to be born there
