  1. You have seen this one before, but it maby now has an higher chance of winning😄 I made a new version, a custom drill its so satisfying to kill hives and transmitters like that

  2. I think these sorts of genes have already been suggested but this is my take on them and they never really made it in game, idk if that was purposely or if the developers had other priorities but I'll suggest them anyway. Hope you enjoy 😄 Marsupial body/pouch:I dont know how this may be integrated into the game but it could be added as a new gene in the body gene slot(marsupial body) or there would be an entirely new gene(pouch) deciding whether the nichling has a pouch or notObviously only females would express this and she can carry her 1 gemed baby around without the fear it being attacked or snatched by predators or birds, I suppose it could also warm the baby but other than that idk what stats this would add.(perhaps it could add heat resistance if grouped with the body genes?)Also I know this is sorta unrelated but speaking of gender specific genes perhaps females could have a gene mutation that causes them to grow a mane appearing male-like and I guess attracting female wanderers and repelling rouge males.Marsupial face:It'd basically look like a kangaroo or koala and it can use the licking ability to cool itself and others like how kangaroos do in real life.Marsupial ears:They'd be tall and erect kangaroo-like ears(the round ear genes would kinda make rounded koala ear genes redundant) And as for stats I guess they'd have standard +2 hearing and maybe +3 heat resistance due to their sizeKangaroo hind legs:They'd add a jumping ability which would funtion almost the same way as flying+1 or 2 strength(male kangaroos are known for their kickboxing)+2 or 3 speed(kangaroos are pretty fast)Stealth?(idk if it should add that stat)Kangaroo tail:Idk what this might add, kangaroos use them for balance when fighting irl so idk how this might relate to niche.Perhaps the tail could be used to hit small enemies and wanderers a few blocks away?Okay thanks for reading and feel free to leave suggestions.

  3. For some reason there's a mutation for no melanism/albinism, but not for encouraging it. I thought it might be nice if this were an option, and people who want it to continue to be something you need to work to keep can ignore the mutation for it

  4. I had two occassions now where the genes of the first generation showed really nicely in the third gen, while the second one looked different. I really love this especially for story purposes because it's just cute when the children look almost exactly like their grandpa. Thought I'd share the screenshots here for other people to enjoy as well The names change a little with the second family but they are the same creatures (Kurovan became Russetpaw after his grandpa and Gorseclaw Gorsestar (yes yes warriors challenge ^^)

  5. This is a replica of the "Welcome to Planet Urf" League of Legends login screen, which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYIiy03eGE0 The lore of Urf http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Urf and Zoe https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_PH/story/champion/zoe/ might be required to understand the story After Urf died by the hands of Warwick, he was sent to a place between dimensions, where he was destined to stay forever as a shadow of his former self. However, Urf would not accept such a fate. He trained his mind and imagination - as there was nothing physical in this realm - until by chance the wandering aspect of Mischief, Zoe, found him. Zoe admired his determination and for the first time decided to do something that wan't for her own amusement. She granted him a single wish. Urf thought about it for a long time and finally decided on this: "I wish to be an inspiration to people, I wish to rise, to make others rise, to grow, so others can as well. I wish for the ability to help anyone, wherever possible as long as they deserver that help." And for making such a compassionate wish Zoe shared a part of her power with Urf. Urf became an aspect: The Awesome Buffer of Awesomely Awesomeness. He traveled through the multiverse and helped many, who deserved it and some who didn't, until he found Earth. There, he saw a team of dedicated programmers, who were working on a game called Nimbatus, and he decided to help them. He recreated his homeworld, Planet Urf, to show the team how great their game was, and what potential it held, so they would be inspired to grow the game further. This is the story of Urf. May he continue to help those in need in the future. Wow, that is longer than I expected it to be. If you made it until here, thank you for reading!

  6. also maybe the loyal lonely lover will distract predators and (try) to fight them off if they approach his "mate"

  7. maybe with the smaller ears, you can have cold resistance because animals living in cooler climates have smaller ears, ie, arctic foxes(lives in the frozen tundra, for example in greenland) compared to fennec foxes(live in the sahara I am pretty sure)

  8. I think the fur colors for nichelings actually are realistic, at least in the sense that they all appear in nature (except for pink). They are too bright, however, which may give them the appearance of being unrealistic, when in actuality I think it is just the game's style.

  9. Yeah it was odd, but it's all good now. Now i get to go hunting for all the smaller bugs >:D

  10. Currently, wild pregnant female nichelings wander around the world and never have their babies. Instead, once pregnant, they should seek out the nearest nest, and stay there until their baby is born the next day. The baby would be born wild instead of automatically being invited into the tribe, and would follow their mother like the friendly bearyenas do. This would offer good story potential for reuniting with your lost child, and could potentially save a tribe if you do not have food to invite the wild female nicheling with.

  11. Loyal loner lovers are a milder version of rogue males. Their spawnrate is really small. If one spawns, he will act like a normal wanderer, but you can't invite him into your tribe. If there is an adult female who has opposing immunity compared to him, he will follow her around and breed with her as often as possible. He will only target one female, and if she dies, he won't breed with anyone else or follow them around. If a bearyena approaches his mate, he will try to fight it off or distract it. Loyal loner lovers have slightly better genes than rogue males. Genes they will always have: One deformed paw High fertility Normal bloodclotting One fur gene with camoflauge of the current biome Any ideas? Genes they will never have: Bearyena snout Bearyena claw Bearyena hindlegs Bearyena ears Sabertooth fangs Digging trunk Megaloceros horns Armored body Mammut foot Hammer tail Black eyes Brown eyes Any ideas?

  12. Hi everyone We now start the 4th GIF competition! This time we have an OPEN topic. So feel free to create any kind of awesome GIFS! No restrictions. The best two GIFS win a Steam key for the Closed Alpha of Nimbatus. Deadline to enter is Thursday, 28th of June. (Winners will be announced shortly after). Here are the rules: Post your GIF right here in this thread. Multiple entries per person are allowed. Only GIFs recorded with the demo version are allowed in this competition. @Roger, @Markus, @Micha and @Philo will pick 2 favorites. There will be only awarded one key per person. If you won in a previous contest, we won't award you another key. Please note: You can use [F9] to generate an animated GIF of the last 6 seconds gameplay, but feel free to use other tools. Remember that the best GIF wins! Tell an interesting story with your GIF. For this contest the best looking GIF wins. We'll have contests which award pure logic/cleverness at a later time. We maybe show some of these cool gifs on Twitter, Reddit, etc. Please only post here if that's ok with you. Tipp: The GIF capture tool hides bad framerates. If you turn off the Bloom because of performance reasons, turn them on before recording the GIF. The game might have a low frame rate, but the resulting GIF should run smoothly and might result in nicer looking GIF because of the effects.

  13. I'd like a place I can enter an input, or a group of inputs that would activate thrusters. (For instance, W, or W and D, or W when a certain detector is also triggered) When thrusters are activated by the inputs entered, or by logic responding to those inputs, I'd like to see a circle indicate those thrusters' center of thrust (a circle, so that it is visible if aligned with the center of mass dot), and I'd like a line across the screen indicating the thrust vector. This way we can make sure, when we build an asymmetric drone, that we can align thrust with the center of mass. We can put the CoT beyond the CoM for stablility, or behind it for manueverability. (I don't know if the physics will bear that difference out, though.) The line will tell us if our thrust will cause our drone to drift - a thrust vector directly through the CoM will be a straight thrust. The further its closest point is from the CoM, the more the drone will turn.

  14. Today I loaded up a previous savefile where my tribe (or, in this case, Clan, since it's a Warrior Cats challenge) had just traveled to a new island. I moved them over to start clearing away grass and find food. I then decided to see where I should have them head and zoomed out to look at the island. I then saw a weird flower port with a river going through it and no stone that you use to travel, as you can see in the pictures below. Okay, well, now that I look again, yes, the stone may be covered in the grass. But that still wouldn't make sense- if it was in the tall grass, then the creature who activates the port won't be able to go, because the port tiles would be too far away. I'll update this when I get my creatures over there to find out if there's a travel stone or not. Anyone know why it's like this?

  15. I was wondering wether you meant to put it in the 1.1.3 section. I'll move it

  16. You can switch out save files to make more than 5 saves. You can find save files by following steps here: And then make another folder somewhere else to copy and paste them into. Now you can safely delete the save file in-game to make a new game. If you want to import your old save file back in, you have to delete the current save file that is in the same location where that save is (for example, I have to delete the top save file to import something that was created on the top save file) and copy and paste your old save file into the folder you find through the link above.

  17. It's not that they're teleporting; It's just that they moved out of your sight/hearing/smelling range.

  19. it's because they are no pattern creatures right?, that makes sense, they don't really have much going for them and could have easily existed almost the same in the old version

  20. I would like this too. When I originally first started playing the game I thought it was bugged lol. It's kind of like if there was a "no horns" mutation, but no mutation to add horns.

  21. I definitely support this because I get them mixed up all the time. At least make dig holes disappear faster.

  22. I agree that it would much sense for them to give camouflage but the deaf ears or weak ears could also maybe be tied in with another feature (apart from giving other senses a buff). You see pulled back ears or flattened ears are often a sign of aggressiveness, that's why some cat breeds with flat ears have trouble staying out of fights because they look aggressive to other cats. So maybe we could have an aggressiveness feature similar in effect either to strong voice or distasteful appearance that would scare away hostile creatures and or wanderers.

  23. Oh alright I see. I doubt that is a good idea since realistically, animals with upright ears are capable of moving them flatter against their head when hiding or stalking prey, and ear size in general certainly don't have that much of an effect on whether an animal can be spotted in general. Personally, I don't like the camoflauge idea, especially since deafness doesn't correlate to ear size in biology. However, I am alright with it working the same way as eyesight and blindness does, where they are just negative effects without a tradeoff. If there was a tradeoff though, I would like it if their other senses were stronger to make up for the one they lack, since that is something that DOES happen with lots of people and animals!

  24. Hey all I just recently won access to Nimbatus' closed Alpha and was super pumped to play it, but after launching the game it became incredibly unresponsive or otherwise laggy. I checked the task manager to see that it was running my GPU wild. Right now I'm running version 0.3.2 of Nimbatus and my specs are as follows: GPU: GTX 1070 RAM: 16GB DDR4 CPU: Intel i7-6700K 4GHz OS is windows 10 I've tried uninstalling the game and downloading it again to no avail. It could just be a bug but does anyone else experience this/know how to fix it? Edit: Restarted my computer and it's running smoothly, basic IT wins again.

  28. Rock breaking is actually already apart of the game. You need to have 10 strength to break a rock.

  29. We can already break the rocks. You need 10 strenght to do that.

  32. I am already aware of that thread, and I am suggesting a change to wild female nichelings, not the addition of rogue females.

  33. If combined with the suggestion about having options to adjust sandbox mode and how it is played, sure. Personally, however, I would turn it off. Afaik, no so thing exists irl, and skewed male/female ratios are a real problem in some cases, at least for humans. Sometimes when you flip a coin 8 times, you get 6 heads just because chance is weird that way. I like it that way, and it doesn't hurt gameplay at all from my perspective, but I can see why it would bother others.

  34. I would love that. Maybe even an option to have the deformed paw included when starting in sandbox?

  35. We need a sort of way to reduce damage and dig power on weapons, a side-upgrade off the +damage 1, 2, and 3 upgrades and their dig power alternatives, the options being -50% damage/dig power and -100% damage/dig power. This way we can create large-scale cosmetic Recoil-Jets far stronger but more power-intensive than regular jets, and without the side effect of the back blast erasing small sections of planets if you want to land and take off. No more erasing that landing pad you crafted to land a safe distance up from the snake, but at the price of exploration and resource farming to gain the new "rubber bullets" sort of tech. You could even have a hybrid tech that completely removes damage and dig power in a single upgrade slot so we can maximize recoil power. This can also allow sprayers to become more like terraformers, changing the planet without completely erasing it without wanting to and allow a new avenue in the upcoming weather update for safe, planet-friendly alternatives to simply erasing the issue. <3

  36. I like it! Maybe also an option for more sandbox to have this ticked and or unticked even on harder islands
    1 point
  37. i like this idea, could inadvertently get the whole "There's another tribe sharing this island with you" feel from it. And you could even intentionally leave behind rouge-born children for the rouge females to pick up and take care of!

  38. As has been mentioned a number of times, having a lot of logic gates for certain seemingly-simple functions becomes difficult to manage very quickly. I propose a logic part that serves as a n-input truth table, which would serve to condense many logic gates into one part, without reducing the challenge of working with simple parts. Upon placing the part, the top half of the configuration panel would allow the player to select the number of inputs (n). As the input count changes, the lower half of the panel would be a table with 2^n+1 rows, and n+1 columns. The top row would be configurable to set the input or output signals. Subsequent rows would show all of the possible activity combinations for the inputs, and the player could select the output state for each input combination.

  39. One way I could see this working is the toxic body, which is very froglike, giving your nichelings the ability to change their sex. I'm looking forward to seeing other peoples' take on this.

  40. Uh... I think what you are suggesting is heterochromia, which means each eye is a different colour. I like this suggestion, however I'm pretty sure heterochromia has zero ties to behaviour or "distemper", so it would be a purely appearance-changing mutation in the game, just like it is in real life, if it were to be implemented.
