  1. Yeah all genes save their progress individually, therefore the new genes have to be unlocked again. We plan to rework this in a future update, it's a bit buggy at the moment

  2. I had two occassions now where the genes of the first generation showed really nicely in the third gen, while the second one looked different. I really love this especially for story purposes because it's just cute when the children look almost exactly like their grandpa. Thought I'd share the screenshots here for other people to enjoy as well The names change a little with the second family but they are the same creatures (Kurovan became Russetpaw after his grandpa and Gorseclaw Gorsestar (yes yes warriors challenge ^^)

  5. Ah, I see. Well, thanks for clearing it up, I just thought I was messing something up when installing it!

  6. There is a closed alpha running for people that got it as from Kickstarter, won in the weekly lottery or one of the gif-contests.

  7. Tested an old safe for an hour or so right now.Nnone of the previously unlocked genes were locked again, so that stayed the same which is pretty nice I also didn't encounter any major bugs so far. Female peacock tail shows up just fine as well and it is totally adorable! The only thing I noticed or wondered about is that the new genes don't seem to recognize the time I have already spent in hot or cold areas or even the attack count. So I already unlocked the big body and technically have the requirements for the heat body but it isn't unlocked (same with the scorpion tail as I have already unlocked lean body previously). Now I don't know if this is something you can fix and I don't really mind just thought I'd mention that technically the requirements were met before the update but are not recognized with the new genes though they unlock if you meet the requirements again. So I unlocked peacock tail and wings just fine (I was super lucky with the wings I called from the stump one time and a one winged wanderer shot out of the darkness )

  8. @orangesunrise Even better, you could get it from inviting a full Albino/Melanistic Nicheling in.

  11. FINALLY i made it work!🤩 It would be way more compact with the buffer because all the IF gates are for timing. Right click to activate/deactivate, left click to "lose a life" i made a draw it sort of game, i wanted to put this type of system on it and when all 3 lifes are lost, you get blown up. i didnt got the lifes to work untill now. but this uses so many keys that the drawing is realy hard now. here is the draw it game:

  12. I definitely support this because I get them mixed up all the time. At least make dig holes disappear faster.

  13. This is just a completly random thought that popped into my head recently and is mainly directed towards the devs though any other swiss person is welcome to comment of course ^^ I know for a German (like myself) I have to concentrate really hard to understand Swiss German (Schweitzer Deutsch wie man so schön sagt ^^) and I wondered is it the other way around the same? Do Swiss people have to concentrate to understand us (Germans)? Or is it easy for you? I know austrians are easier to understand though of course not always ^^

  14. For some reason there's a mutation for no melanism/albinism, but not for encouraging it. I thought it might be nice if this were an option, and people who want it to continue to be something you need to work to keep can ignore the mutation for it

  15. A new body gene that would implement symbiotic relationships with other organisms.( Inspired by the relationship between sloths and algae) There are two variations: (I will talk about the second one in another post) The first one is a really hairy body with pointy hairs. These nichelings have a relationship with small creeping algae like plants that grow on their back. They have no plants on them when they are babies, but it starts growing on them once they have 2 gems and start fruiting once they have 3 gems. These nichelings essentially become walking berry bushes, and other creatures can gather the berries from them. They also attract berry eating creatures. Their symbiotic plant works like a berry bush and it can be replenished by standing in water, but the berries dont grow if the water is too deep and they grow slower if their host is unhealthy. Nichelings with this body can hold up to 5 berries. Edit: This could be perfect for savannah and mountain islands, but it does not give any climate resistance.

  16. I thought it'd be cool that if you have low fertility your nichelings can have miscarriages. Maybe you could also have miscarriages with immunity issues as well like how in real life incest can lead to miscarriages. Although I'm thinking it should be a rare occurrence, as to not annoy some players. Please don't forget to upvote this if you like the idea, I'm pretty new to the community.

  17. Almost all of our entertainment in german is "Standardsprache" or "high-german", and in school we mostly have to talk in "hochdeutsch", so it's completely normal for us so understand that. But if it goes more into dialect, for example "bayerisch" or maybe some north-german-dialects, we also have trouble to understand them Just like we have sometimes trouble to understand other swiss-dialects (wallis especially )

  19. Great entries so far. I love your creativity. Quick note: When we say we love "the story" of the GIF, we don't mean the thing you tell us about your GIF, or the backstory. Simply when someone watches the GIF, what happens / is told in the GIF itself. Sometimes there are interesting things done in this way

  21. A quality of life module! 👍 Can the amount of outputs be changed with a slider within the module so there are less modules in the bar?

  22. A discussion about that behaviour is a good thing, other opinions will shed another light on this topic. Maybe the formula to add upgrades could be adjusted from addition to multiplication. Replace 20+80=100% with 100*0,8*0,2=16%

  24. They dont freeze, so just imagine they have more cold resistance. But I noticed that it prefers fish and berries over your nichelings, and also they seem to hibernate if they are buried just a bit in the snow, staying mostly inactive until the snow melts. I recommend that you try to get armor body to coexist peacefully with those cute bears, but otherwise you are safe by staying one tile away, they are veeeeeery slow.

  25. How would finding a nest faster affect it? Would it be something like the baby nicheling is lost if you don't reach a nest in a certain amount of turns? I mean, half of my current technique relies on them being able to hold it lol.

  26. This is a good idea and would make the game more realistic, but I think it should harm the female by a small amount so you just can't wait around for a female impregnated by a rouge male to miscarry without a cost.

  27. I think that this sounds cool, but I think that having to switch between all the tribes would get annoying, especially if you have four tribes. Maybe instead, it could be separate food and nesting material resources, and there's some way to tell you what tribe a nicheling is a part of. (Also, sorry if you meant it to be like that, it just wasn't that clear to me)

  30. maybe just get rid of the bright red and yellow and put in a coppery orange in instead? I think these two colors (and how they interact with others) are the only problem the colorsysthem might have right now but if there were a coppery orange fur gene (like a red fox or tiger) instead, that could lead in combination with beige to a (not as mustardy) dirty blonde yellow and together with the reddish-brown to a matted red we would have still all colors but yellow and red would then be more muted, okay then there still would be the chance of the darker pink by reddish-brown + white but it would be a lot less likely anyways and no more bright pink

  32. And here is my newest entry: A series of GIFs featuring "Mass Ejectulation", a drone I made which uses NO THRUSTERS and is still viable for completing missions!

  33. I would like this too. When I originally first started playing the game I thought it was bugged lol. It's kind of like if there was a "no horns" mutation, but no mutation to add horns.

  34. This is a small quirk that annoys me just a little. Stagmole burrows and areas your nichelings have dug up are nearly identical to each other. There's very slight differences, I think the dig spots are slightly bigger. And when you enter sight/scent mode only the dig spots will disappear, allowing you to see which mounds are stagmole burrows, but I'd like to not have to enter in a different mode just to tell if I should post my nicheling there. I thought it'd just make things a little easier if they were a little easier to tell apart, perhaps the dig spots could not have the center entry hole stagmole burrows do so it's just a pile of dirt instead, or make the dig spot holes bigger or smaller. Something that makes it a little easier to tell at a glance

  39. Each miniature drone uses a camera block, and when active, the cursor directional sensors do not point towards the cursor. They point towards where the cursor would be, if the sensor were somewhere else.

  40. I do like the Idea of a cave biome. This would work well in tandem with an update that could allow nechelings who can't see the ability to move a space into unseen ground (like you see wanderers/rogues doing). Dude Yes giant spider! and in lieu of circling you could either see it hanging from the top or there could be some telltale cobwebs about to warn you that you have entered it's territory.

  41. I also really want to have this in the game As mentioned before, only as a visual feature though. *upvote*
