  1. Since the more customization options for sandbox mode thread has so many upvotes, I think it is almost certain to be implemented into the game, in which case new weather types could be a toggleable feature. Whether or not to include new weather types in story mode, like Skysplash8 said, would probably be up to the developers to decide. I actually did not consider this, and I do not know what to do about it. Reduced sight is such an important part of fog, and being without it would be a shame. Even if the reduced sight was -1 instead of -2, it would still render shortsighted nichelings blind. Should it just not reduce sight at all?

  2. Pygmy nichelings are like wandering nichelings with mostly black fur and cat eyes, but their main difference is that adults are the size of a big bodied teenage nicheling. They behave like wanderers, but their speed is increased by 2 points and their strength is decreased by 1. They have a chance of spawning in port tiles as a family on any island but they can be toggled on and off, and they will breed with each other and are capable of building nests to have their babies, but you can steal those nests if you want. They compete with you for food and are behave a lot like adam's family on home island, but a bit more fierce, as they will try to attack your babies even if you have not attacked them. Their default appearance is black, with pygmy body which looks like normal body but small, antlers and sometimes no horns, long snout, normal hind legs, medium or swimming tail and double runner legs or double velvet paws, but they can have any paw except wings, bearyena paw, or mammoth foot. Their appearance can vary a bit depending on the island, but they always have cat eyes. There are benefits to them, for example, you can make them extinct on an island if you kill the entire population, also, predators treat them like normal nichelings, so they can be a great distraction. Also, because they are a subspecies, you can breed with them. they are really attached to their family, so to get one in your pack you can only invite a baby in the nest, the baby will join your pack and you could control it, by breeding with it, you could get these Exclusive genes: Cat eyes: + 3 eyesight Pygmy body: All the benefits of normal body but with 2 speed and 0 strength black fur P immunity: An exclusive immunity( maybe lets you invite adult pygmys into the pack but likely not) Finally, there could possibly be a rare variation of these that acts like a rogue female, it breeds with your males and the baby joins their pack, this not only means that you could have a hybrid between the two subspecies against you, but it could also create some awesome stories of forbidden love and also traitors (one step closer to warrior cats)

  3. Hi! yay, Love this game. so I have been thinking about it for a while now, watching people play the game and playing the game myself. There is this, ever so slight, annoying thing that occurs. Remembering characters names is one, and the other is, who am I limiting myself to breed to. This also ties into another problem. As your speeding around your biome, having everyone doing their various tasks, once in a while. as I hover over the "..." and I prepare to, remove grass, leaches, crack a nut, dig a root, or in general, do something on a space that one Nicheling is on with another Nicheling. I occasionally accidentally hit that heart icon instead. That brief moment of cold sweet washes over me as I realize that the resulting baby might be double immunity as I quickly check their genes. I begin the rush of moving the mother far away to a nest away from the tribe. Usually resulting in the sad eventual sick baby that I must leave behind. It occurs to me that if only there had been a way to prevent this accidental twitching click of mine. So I Thought it over, watching the Jessimew videos (It's how I've been learning to play), hearing her referring to mates. I realized then, that it would be an amazing option too actually have a setting in your Nichelings profiles to designate a specific mate if you want one. This way. If your like me, with a trigger finger twitch, even if you hit that dreadful heart, if your accident female or even male already has a specified mate, instead of mating you get a failed breeding message, the reason being, "this female/male is already mated and has rejected you, better luck next time" or something like that. This will only stop you/me from accidentally breeding to a female or male that has a chosen mate I specified. All other aspects of the game would remain the same. And when a mate dies or is on another island, they will automatically drop from the mated menu. I have no art for preview as to how it should look, but this is my idea, Hope you guys like it and think it might work.

  4. Sorry for a third response, but this guy is just ADORABLE and I have to share his cuteness with everyone Dukvan, God of the Seas! One of my creatures found him just wandering by! Btw, @Lilytuft. I found him on my tribe I'm using to try and get that Ramfox Nicheling on your Breeding Goals 🥔 page.

  5. I noticed a small error while playing Niche this morning. When I viewed my nicheling Sianako (she's red with big ears, spikes, and poison fangs) in the gameplay window her genes look as they should when I check them. But when I go to the family tree window and look at her "DNA" strand, it shows that her bearyena snout is the dominant gene and that poison fangs is inactive - which isn't correct. I have included my save file. Thanks for a great game guys. Slot3.nichesave

  6. On this save file: Slot3.nichesave that I started in the version story mode was a thing (0.9?) got kinda mixed up moving to the newest version. I played it during the preview version after the first wave of bug fixes (1.1.1). I didn't touch it again until the official release of the whale island and wings update. What I encountered was an extinct species screen, and then I proceeded to exit to the main island. In the same session, I opened the save file again. I was happy to see all my creatures were there, but the day counter had been reset as well as some genes in the mutation menu (tail, hindlegs, and fertility to be specific). There's probably nothing you can do about it now, but I'm okay with it running normally now, and I thought I'd just let you guys know. Before: After:

  7. Thanks for the report @Pokestardragacraft! This is a problem that only occurs when having played on the preview branches. So we are considering it fixed for now ^^

  8. Yes, this is the new whale island port ^^

  9. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to look like that. The previous texture looked too much like a Jungle port. This one doesn't look like any of the other ports, so I assume that it's supposed to look like this. Besides, it looks like it would go to a Whale Island.

  10. Maybe it would basically make everyone only be able to see one tile in front of them-- normal eyesight would act like Shortsighted Eyes, and then Shortsighted Eyes and Blind Eyes would act the same as they do right now. I completely forgot about my Firefly Tail Yeah, those two genes would help out a lot in fog!

  11. Ok, maybe reduce the attack by -1 on the servah paw, and -1 on the speed on servah tail, also maybe a chance for a servah to fail at killing something, like how a cheetah fails a lot at hunting. I also thought It was a tad OP, Maybe not making it unlockable as well would help? Except for the ears since their just big ears that are slightly different

  13. I have an idea to propose. If the devs made it so you can move in the smell and hearing modes only fog (and if you’re blind, but that’s another story), then this wouldn’t be that big of an issue. There could also be other genes to increase sight. I’ve seen people suggest firefly tails and angler fish heads which may be enhanced in the fog.

  15. Well, I do agree that some animals are not combinations, some that you listed are. Deer + Mole = Stagmole, Goldfish + Leech = Goldleech*, Razorfish + Piranha = Razorhana*, Eagle + Parrot = Bluebird, and Dodomingos used to be pink for the flamingo aspect. *not 100% sure

  16. The smartest moles I have seen, the crabbit with the ultimate defence and the water walking nicheling will probably be considered a god

  17. Working on the lava biome. The meteor shader is still a bit buggy

  18. @orangesunrise Maybe this could be one of the toggleable things you can choose when you start a Sandbox tribe. As for Storymode, it would probably depend on what the developers would think would be best.

  19. Reptiles are definitely more chill than mammals, but no less cute XD I gotta admit my favorite reptile in the family is Nana [short for 'fat banana' lol] the yellow leopard gecko ❤️

  20. That's perfect!! Way better than my idea!

  21. @Ancestor Nature If sight is reduced by 2, then nobody can see anything! (Normal eyesight gives sight, if you take away 2, that's 0, making them pretty much blind) Also, for the thunderstorms, maybe if lightning hits a tree, it will turn into a burnt stump? (It would set it on fire as well) For hail, maybe if the creature has 1+/2+ Defense, they wouldn't be able to get stunned?

  22. Interesting Idea OmegaDeltaZero. Not sure yet if this fits the game, but I'll definitely will bring it up in the gameplay/progression discussion we will soon have. Thx!

  23. Basically, a new set of hind legs (given that we only have three currently) that would increase speed. I think that it would be useful, especially with all the paw genes that don't provide speed. The new hind legs would add 3-5 speed (probably 4) instead of the regular 2, although maybe it won't add swimming as a trade off. For appearance, I think it could either look like an ostrich leg, a cheetah leg, or a gazelle leg.

  24. I actually made speedy hindlegs for my more hybrids suggestion, and I bring that up because I made mine +3 speed and +1 swimming. I did this because a key point of hindlegs is to have at least +1 speed and +1 swimming so every creature could move. The speed is more obvious, but for the swimming, imagine a gilled-creature being born in the ocean with no swimming as an example.

  25. I assume the devs changed the gene dominance. We had that bug with the Tailfin and Scorpion Tail to. It should not affect your ability to play with that safe
