Let's see if I can exhaust my ideas for awhile. Weapon Techtree Upgrades Laser Upgrade: Orbital Beam: Increases range, damage, and energy usage depending on its altitude. Higher up it is, the farther it goes and the harder it hits. I mostly want to use this to make an attack satellite on a planet with the death star laser transmitter and fly around the surface with a smaller drone section. Just click somewhere and a big laser from off-screen starts burning through the enemy. Fight Fire With Fire: Damage increases while weapon is receiving damage of the same element type or while under the effect caused by that element type. Plasma weapons do more damage when on fire, cryo weapons when frozen, and the others when being pelted with their respective type. Maybe have it get the boost for a short while after being hit Friendly Fire: Hits your own drone parts as well as enemies. I'm thinking it could see some use with a -100% damage upgrade on a plasma or cryo weapon to make an alternative to heaters and coolers. I admittedly don't know if your drone's own plasma and cryo weapon shots heat or cool its parts while travelling through them in the closed alpha or not, but this should be able to cover for that possibility. Would be interesting to see a cryo flamethrower used as a fire extinguisher. Maybe have a detachable line of them that fires in one direction while a drone piece flies over. EDIT: I made a separate topic for this. Batteries Solar Panels Need Altitude: OK, so some of us think that solar panels are the only battery worth using. Maybe that can be dealt with by having their recharge speed based on altitude? More Situational Batteries: How about a thermal generator that works like the solar panel, but only gets its full recharge speed when hot? Dip it into lava for a quick recharge. Maybe have one that works with cold instead. Maybe have a wind-powered one that works with strong winds or when the battery's movement is fighting air resistance. And I just realized that someone is bound to try using the thermal generator and a heater to transfer energy or maybe even a... plasma weapon... And that gives me another idea. Nothing Stopping These From Being Used For A Battery Workshop Techtree: I can already imagine a drone using batteries with more storage capacity and a higher recharge dependent on altitude in a rush to escape a fight in underground tunnels so that it can take to the air and replenish its strength before either going back down or luring the enemies up to where it is. Energy/Fuel/Resource Sensor: A sensor that detects how much energy/fuel/resources the drone or drone section has and gives an output when it is greater than or below a particular amount. Maybe these could even be built into the the individual batteries, fuel tanks, and resource tanks instead. It'd be nice to have certain parts auto-shut down when they start being too costly and then start back up again once you have the energy to spare for them. Also, being able to have an autonomous resource collection drone know when its full or empty is going to be a useful feature. Electrical Elemental Weapons: Can recharge batteries or even overload them, causing them (and everything powered by them) to temporarily cease functioning. Give it a -100% damage upgrade and... *goes back up and adds another suggestion* FRIENDLY FIRE and it becomes a great way to transfer energy between decoupled drone pieces. Or you can just fire it at enemies to disable their ability to shoot at you. They'd still be able to fly around and ram into you just fine though. This will probably be useful for if you ever decide to let planets have thunderstorms. Of Course There'd Have To Be Special Batteries: Maybe a battery that only recharges when hit with an electrical weapon, but it is harder to overload. Emergency Backup Batteries: Maybe have it be possible to have a battery turned off and that'll keep it from being affected by electrical weapons until it's turned on, but until it's turned on, it's useless. Organic Option For Basic Parts: And this is where my imagination seems to be hitting its limit for now. I was thinking of those blocks that now come in heat and cold resistant flavors, but this one looks a bit like terrain or possibly hive material, has less HP, and heals when hit by bio ammo.2 points

The mountain islands, especially Frost Lands. Each time I bring a tribe there, I experience a new adventure. It's quite fun!2 points

Some people like the buff blind eyes give to other senses, also the 'negative' genes can be really interesting for challenge purposes I don't think the devs plan on locking the eye colours, in earlier versions the fur colours were locked and you had to mutate them step by step onto your creatures (black fur was the only one unlocked and it would then unlock brown fur once you had successfully mutated it and so on and so forth) but the eye colours were always unlocke, I also don't see the purpose2 points

What is your favourite island type? Mine is Archipelago, because I love the way you can create different cultures on different islands, and have different types of nichelings. I have an island for winged nichelings, one for Derp snouted creatures, one for bearyena hybrids, etc. I love how you can essentially have multiple games in one huge island type, and how there is so much space for underwater creatures. What do you think?1 point

Hello all! I thought I would share a gene idea: Bat Head. We don't currently have a counter for the sleepy flies on the swamp islands, so I thought I would think of something to combat that. If a nicheling has a bat head, it is able to collect the flies as a food source since bats usually feed on insects. This head would disable ears and provide a high hearing ability. Bats are fantastic at detecting possible prey through echolocation. Basically, the bat hears echos from it's ultrasound vocalization (squeaks) and is able to track prey through that, hence the idea of a high hearing ability. Here's a little drawing I did in order to visualize what the head might possibly look like. Thanks for looking!1 point

wolf fangs could give u +1 or +2 extra strenght wich would help you on killing baryenas and thoose other things (dont get me wrong i hate adult baryenas) so , wolves howl dont they? ik that this wont change much but when u get in a high place to "sing" they could howl , what would attract more creatures with wolf fangs and wolf tail. The tail would be a attractive thing for wild niche , and it could also give you +1 in the camuflage :) they also would look like sabertooth fangs, but a little but smaller ( a lil bit u know o.O ) they would be found in that "ice rocks" in the snow , or rarely walking around in the jugle :))) do u know the fluffy tail? it would be half of that (the size ) and would still look fluffy idk if u guys know but, my favorite animal is wolves, so i pass almost all my day looking for new information, like the k locus , video (im giving the video , but this is from another game, a wolf game c: ) : maybe with wolf tail and fangs they coul add this thing to the game ( not the litter size , im talking about the color ) like:dark group : black , dark red, gray maybe red . Light group (the small k one ) : yellow , white , beige and maybe yellow, toxic body color would stay in light group ! Special thx: ChasingNyx , for your comentary and all your help , thx for all thx for your coments , they helped me1 point

Because just as your creatures can adapt to every biome, why wouldn't other animals? Bunnies It never made sense to me how bunnies are white everywhere. Here are some different variants: Grassland Bunny, which looks like it's current appearance but brown. It replaces the current white bunny. Arctic Bunny, white and with a fluffy tail. They have 1 defense. Savanna Bunny, a regular bunny but beige, and has 1 stealth. Swamp Bunny, a black bunny that can safely eat poison berries. (Because I don't think swamps should be exempt from bunnies being a nusiance.) Balance Bears Just in case you thought there were no truly invincible predators on Deadly Hills. Brown Bear, a grassland version of the balance bear. Bearyenas Because Deadly Hills isn't the only killer island out there, what if the non-killer bearyenas were slightly more dangerous? Mountain Bearyena, which is white. It has cold resistance, and has 1 defense and 3 strength. It spawns in the Frost Lands. Jungle Bearyena, which is slightly smaller. It has stealth and scentless, so it's harder to hear/smell. It spawns in the Deep Jungle. Ramfoxes The concept of a predator that spawns in a pack is interesting to me, I'm not sure if it should be limited to one biome. Red Ramfox, spawns in the grasslands on islands that aren't easy, not counting Home Island or Crossing. Savanna Ramfox, spawns on islands with hot climates. They are beige with large ears.1 point

I suppose that it could require resources, either ones held on the Nimbatus or ones held in the drone's own tanks..1 point

I don't know about Xbox controllers, but I'm using a playstation controller on my computer, and while it does accept the triggers and the triang;e, square, X, and O button, it doesn't have mapped controls for the directional keys or the joycons. Maybe a seperate control for each quarter of the joycon? EDIT: I've figured out how to do all of the above. Doesn't change that I had to muddle about in alot of steams settings before i could do that. Please maybe add a default controller configuration to the game so others don't have to muddle about?1 point

I'd appreciate D-pad compatibility being added. The control sticks could probably be used for directional sensors and weapons as an alternative to the cursor and would be less of a priority.1 point

Maybe we could have shields that block out-going weaponfire as well as incoming? You'd have to either keep weapons outside of it or turn it off to fire. Give it better stats than the standard shield and players will find a way to use it. They'll probably even want a way to reduce the radius to keep certain ship parts out. Might be worth considering other "blocks more than you want it to" options like... terrain! The shield doesn't let terrain through so the drone just floats above it until the shield is turned off. Have to turn the shield off to fit through tight spaces, and turning it back on while in that tight space can be used as a way of braking. And these shields that would be HP-based and would need to recharge... Would they recharge faster/only when turned off?1 point

I have another suggestion!! What if as well as -1 cold resistance it also gave +1 heat resistance and something I call +1 cooling (like radiation but with the opposite effect) Because I imagine the wings could provide shade for the nicheling and it could fan surrounding nichelings with its wings (this would only go into effect in hot weather)1 point

I thought of something similar, an Earth Biome! It is similar in that it contains all biomes representing real continents on earth. There could be a snowy Antarctica, deep jungles of south America, African Savannah, Himalayan mountains, and swamps like in the southern US! There will also be an ocean obviously. Each individual island varies in that the earth is from a different perspective each time, ie the center might be Asia, or the Atlantic ocean, or north america.1 point

Agreeing with @Lilytuft. My tribe that just got me the Still Alive! achievement has a lot of immunities. Whenever a wanderer comes, try and breed them in (If they have really bad genes, and you already have a good amount of immunities, don't bother. Just know that even the best wanderer usually has a few bad genes you don't want.). Recently I had to breed in a couple wanderers to get a couple more immunities, but now their descendants have some genes I don't want. But, eventually, I'll be able to lose them. Though it is hard to get bad genes out sometimes-- once I only had females and so when I found a Rouge Male I rejoiced, but then many more Rouge Males appeared after him, so now half the tribe is Albino, and another quarter carries it recessive!) I'm still hoping we'll find A Immunity again, since we lost it a while ago (I didn't even realize we lost it until there wasn't even a dead Nicheling on the Family Tree left with it)-- I've also lost F Immunity because I forgot to breed the one creature who had it (her father was a Rouge Male, and her mother was the daughter of a Rouge Male, so I kinda forgot that I was supposed to breed her even though she had bad genes. I'm sure that once you manage to get the screen split in two, someone will want you to split it into four. Even if you can't make it happen, I suppose I can just keep them connected with a spring to prevent them getting too far away from one another. I also suppose that being able to zoom the camera out could work too. Just gotta be able to keep them both on screen.1 point

Random thing: I want those bat ears. I am in love with those bat ears. Devs, can we PLEASE get them just because they are FRIKIN ADORABLE?!1 point

Hello! Recently, I've noticed that there is a flaw in hunting stagmoles. You know, the moles in the burrows. For purposes of demonstration, let me introduce you to Rameana. a beautiful product of nature Because of her small body and horns, Rameana has a total of 1 strength. The problem is, she really wants to eat a stagmole. she yearns for the meat There is one problem though. Because of her strength, Rameana cant murder it. Technically she can, trying to kill it with the orange symbol, but there is no guarantee. I suggest it is like bunnies. Sure, to kill them in one hit you'd need a creature with 2 strength, but a creature with 1 can already hit them, killing them the second time they do. Of course, with stagmoles they would still turn so you'd have to be a bit more precise with timing, but this way, Rameana could follow her dream to become a stagmole hunter. justice for 1 strength creatures1 point

My all time favourite has to be the Deep Jungle, since my favourite tribe originally kept travelling from jungle island to jungle island. The Deep Jungle is just so big and so full of life, and it is easy enough to survive in if you came prepared. So jungle islands are definitely my favourite, but some others that I like are Whale Island, Deadly Hills, Grass Mingle and Home Island.1 point

I had an all yellow island, an all female island, cookie/banana yoghurt island and the decedants of Cremesi island. Archipelago, whale island and snow mountain islands are my favourite1 point

Here we have three of my favorite female nichelings! 1. This is Koi, she came from a water based family, which explains her name, i was so suprised when the mask popped up, because i hadnt used it in this savefile yet! 2. This gorgeous is Puddle. She gave birth to a few royal babies and sacrificed her life for them to a killer bearyena! 3. Last but certainly not least is my goddess of bearyenas, Juice! She killed one killer bearyena aswell as two normal ones and gave birth to hybrids! (her name originates from the fact, that she loved rolling in berry juice)1 point

I know many have made this suggestion before, but an upgrade tree for shields, with things like heat/cold resistance, increased radius, sharing HP with shields it's in contact with, increased HP, Parted shield (Shield is split into multiple segments, each with their own HP. It would have much greater HP overall, but each segment would have less HP than the original shield would), Impact resistance/momentum absorption (Shield bleeds off impacts fromsources like ground impacts, or the new hammerhead enemy coming up. It would slow down their movement in the shield, bleeding off their impact into the drone over a larger amount space than the normal impact. This could be increasing or decreasing percentages, with 100% making the shield essentially solid), increased efficiency, and explosion resistance1 point

This is only accessible through snow mountain islands. If you get to the very top and your creature has two wings with enough flight energy(explained later), you can go there. It looks like a patch of clouds. You would also need enough cold resistance, as it is as cold as a snowy mountain island. - Flight energy The amount of turns you can fly (does appear on creatures with one wing, though they can't fly) If these turns run out and you are on a cloud island, you will fall and take damage relating to the distance fallen If you have 8 or more energy, it is unlimited. There is a new "Broken wing" debuff which happens whens a nicheling with too little energy falls from the sky. With this debuff, you can not fly. It lasts 5 days. New feathered tail gene that gives an additional 1 energy and adds an attraction boost just like the peacock tail Stage 1 wings give 0 energy, Stage 2 wings give 1 energy,(etc.) (The stage increases 1 each turn, starting in stage 1, ending in stage 5) Nests can not be made on clouds because of the last bullet shown above. Now for the cool stuff - Flora (None) - Fauna (Little) Rabid Nicheling (Just like a wanderer, except gone rabid due to the sparse amounts of food) Blue Bird (Will attack ANY nicheling here) Wanderer Rouge Male (One upside is that it will have two wings, though here, this is EXTREMELY rare.) Small Bird (Like the bunnies on a normal island, except this biome You may also go back at any time.1 point

one way i saw someone wanting to implement it would be adding a + icon for more fields. so if you want one more output you click + once. if you want 10 more outputs you click it 10 times. that would be cool1 point

Currently, the sound for when it rains is tied to SFX sounds. Now what I do, is I listen to music while I play. So I turn down the music volume and the ambient volume in the game. I let SFX on because when you skip a turn you hear important things like when there's a bearyena. When it rains, I can see that it rains, thus making the sound absolutely unnecessary and a nuisance when I listen to other music. An easy fix would be to just change it to ambient because that's really what it is, isn't it?1 point

Also this(ties into my own ideas): Mezmi: Hey Korais, remember that Killer bearyena we saw when we were 2? Korais: yup, but mom lead us to the mountains from that deadly grassland Mezmi: Korais, look behind you(use 1 claw finger to point at it) Korais: Dammit Tata!, you and your ALBINISM! Tata(a flying gilled nicheling in a nearby tree, also their brother): *Snickers while eating a nut*1 point

Edit: 1) Yes, it's Espeon. 2) I know the design isn't realistic but I like it. Though, I wouldn't mind a slender lookin' prehensile tail that wasn't a twin tail. 3) I put the picking a berry thingy because I was confused as to how fishing tail worked (till I saw some fanart), so I thought this might help ppl. 4) It'd give +2 collecting, nothing else. You'd have to unlock it by collecting uh.. 100 times?1 point
