  1. If you’re talking about the google poll like it was for the first community voting, there won’t be one this time. This forum is doing what that poll did.

  3. I think it would be cool to add a new game mode that makes things a bit more challenging. In this game mode the game starts with a tribe of animals (maybe around 5 or so). Things are peaceful for a short time and then the earth starts shaking. The island you are living on is slowly falling apart. Your tribe needs to reach the next island exit as fast as possible! And this is how it keeps being from now on. Every island you enter will fall apart after some time, so run for your lives! You only have a short amout of time to gather up resources before heading to a harder island. This adds an interesting time restriction to the game which makes every single decision more important. Maybe this could even be a story thing, like Adam's story. With a small intro and an end goal: Reach Paradise Island. An island full of food and where earth quakes can't reach you.

  4. I was thinking that there should be some more Niche sicknesses in the game, and the one I immediately though of was rabies. Here is what it will do and how it will work. - So first A niche may be attacked by a bearyena/ other predator, this gives the niche a chance to become infected. (Though still pretty small) - The infected Niche will first start resisting user commands, and will lose life slowly. (Day 1) - After a day it will be entirely inoperable and will start attacking the babies of the tribe. Eyes will also appear red or milky. (Day 2) - On the third day it will start attacking its own tribe members, resulting in more rabid niches. (Day 3) - Unless killed they will continue losing health and attacking niches and any other creature nearby. Their lifespan will be cute in half. - Remember this is a rare to moderate chance! More so depending on the predator. Red-eyed Bearyenas have a bigger chance of having it. - Rogue males may also have a VERy rare chance of obtaining rabies and passing it onto your tribe! Edit: The editing button works now yay!!! Thats my thoughts!

  5. Despite the fact that it's winter here in Australia, clearly it is Bushfire Season in my niche world right now! This fire started pretty early when I arrived in the savannah and just never stopped burning. I've been trying to migrate all my creatures down towards the ports (and have the babies I need for the next generation on the way) but even that couldn't save them! A new fire spawned right next to one of my newborn babies, right where their dad was standing!! Hopefully everyone will be able to survive the eight more days needed to finish unlocking all the hot climate genes!

  6. Because just as your creatures can adapt to every biome, why wouldn't other animals? Bunnies It never made sense to me how bunnies are white everywhere. Here are some different variants: Grassland Bunny, which looks like it's current appearance but brown. It replaces the current white bunny. Arctic Bunny, white and with a fluffy tail. They have 1 defense. Savanna Bunny, a regular bunny but beige, and has 1 stealth. Swamp Bunny, a black bunny that can safely eat poison berries. (Because I don't think swamps should be exempt from bunnies being a nusiance.) Balance Bears Just in case you thought there were no truly invincible predators on Deadly Hills. Brown Bear, a grassland version of the balance bear. Bearyenas Because Deadly Hills isn't the only killer island out there, what if the non-killer bearyenas were slightly more dangerous? Mountain Bearyena, which is white. It has cold resistance, and has 1 defense and 3 strength. It spawns in the Frost Lands. Jungle Bearyena, which is slightly smaller. It has stealth and scentless, so it's harder to hear/smell. It spawns in the Deep Jungle. Ramfoxes The concept of a predator that spawns in a pack is interesting to me, I'm not sure if it should be limited to one biome. Red Ramfox, spawns in the grasslands on islands that aren't easy, not counting Home Island or Crossing. Savanna Ramfox, spawns on islands with hot climates. They are beige with large ears.

  7. something cool happen when i played just now, i had obtained a new baby bearyena and it started to follow my nicheling around, the nicheling it followed has the bearyena head and hind legs. does it think that is his mother because of the head? if so, that is very cool. and yes i tested it, i even moved it 2 tiles away and he still followed my nicheling, that was interesting to see. Edit: he kept doing it until he became an adult.

  9. I really like being in the savanna, because it provides a challenge that is difficult without becoming tedious. I also love Whale Island because I can go anywhere I want, though I think it's a little OP because I encountered it in Story Mode once and went straight to Crossing.

  10. At first: HI I write this to give some ideas and thoughts to improve the game. 1. Give at least some limitations for building and so on! i have built some ideas that work awesome at certain things but theyr way too overpowered! Its not only great for fighting but also for digging.(i gave an not even that op ship example down there as a PNG) 2. (I have alreadae written this) The hives can spawn enemys IN you. 3. make something like a "survival mode": my thoughts: You spawn with a small ship. 1 or 2 small guns, and you work your way up.you defeat bots and other players to get items and money. Items: to place right in action on your ship like you would in the building section and money to buy things at a trade system (i will write something like this down there) to buy certain things (fuel, energy, smal guns and bosster, engine). would be really cool i think. 4. More diffrent shields: and a limitation for those: like a max damage then they go out for some seconds or, an timer that charges up if you not use it but if you use shield, the timer gets smaller, if you stop shielding its grows and so on. And with extra shields i mean like some that are better against rockets etc.. 5. the possibilty to REALLY fly between the worlds, that would be cool for survival too. 6. A Trading system: you get money and can buy small things like mentioned further up. 7. would be cool to have like a storage in your ship to farm ores and selll them or smelt them in a oven. 8. Like sayd: an Oven to smelt ores. Those ideas are only a few of my thoughts that could make this game great. i just wantet to mention those becasue i can this game is great! keep it up bye, LG SnowFox

  11. i think those achievements should be disabled all together. while you can get lucky with your starter pair it is all randomness. but with creature creator it wouldn't be random at all. although maybe if you didn't have any of the genes needed for that achievement you could still get it.

  12. I do quite like the snowy areas too- I like the prehistoric genes!

  13. Some people like the buff blind eyes give to other senses, also the 'negative' genes can be really interesting for challenge purposes I don't think the devs plan on locking the eye colours, in earlier versions the fur colours were locked and you had to mutate them step by step onto your creatures (black fur was the only one unlocked and it would then unlock brown fur once you had successfully mutated it and so on and so forth) but the eye colours were always unlocke, I also don't see the purpose

  16. If it opens a door to more gameplay modes, it's awesome.

  17. There should also be a "Randomize" type to suprise yourself on the options. There should also be a spot to give different kinds of disaster types, like "No Droughts", or stuff like that. This is an amazing idea, one I thought about when I first started playing, but completely forgot about when the polls started 🙂

  18. On our last day in the savannah, the fires were still burning, but the next generation were ready to move on. This is how much of the place ended up being on fire after fifty days

  19. I think that idea is very interesting and would be a convenient way to get rid of unwanted nichlings. However, it might also be a bit op since the issues that come along with overcrowding are meant to be one of the challenges of expanding your pack. I think there should be a price in food for sending a nichling away since it takes time to find new food on the island. Since you start with 2 nichlings and 20 food, having 10 food per nichling sent away makes sense, though that would be a heavy price, but if you have a useless nichling that would just be a food sink for all its life, that price might be worth it. It would also be cool if, when you send a creature away to an island and then travel to that island later, you could see that nichling there!

  22. It would be cool if there was an option to choose how much food your creatures eat every day. It would be best if this was a toggle-able thing that you can do in-game, that way if you have a bunch of food and you want it to be more of a challenge, you could make it where each Nicheling eats 2 food a day instead of 1. I imagine it to be a little bar that would go 1----2----3----4----5----etc. with a little thing that you can move to whichever number you want, which wold be how much food a creature eats when the day passes.

  23. I'm so glad you suggested this! I made an account just to post something similar because I really feel it would benefit the game and add even more replayability to it! The game Don't Starve has a similar 'toggleable' menu that lets you choose between 'off, less, default, and more' for all factors at the start of a new game including: spawn rate of various resources (i.e in Niche this would be berry bushes, trees, fish, bunnies, etc) enemies (balance bears, bearyenas, artic foxes, apes, etc) weather (rain, sun, etc.) other factors (creature lifespan length, number of wanderers, number of rogue males, # of ice tombs generated etc). This really lets you customize your game play and improves the longevity of the game. It would allow us to tell more stories, like say you wanted to simulate a drought and have your creatures survive, or do a minimal resources survival run. It would also let people customize the game for their own play style. For instance, I don't like the spawn rate of the balance bears. My tribe of 15 has killed over 6 of them, I would definitely choose a lower spawn rate for them if I could. I don't want to eliminate them, I just don't enjoy being chased constantly. Also, sometimes I just want to play a relaxing game, and it would be nice to put the game on easy mode with high resources and just chill out and breed nichelings that look cool! I've attached what the toggle menu from 'Don't Starve' looks like. It's just picture icons of the various resources/options, with the toggle selection for each.

  24. It would be cool for an option to not be able to see the genes, but it can be turned off from Settings. That way you can play a Blind Genetics Challenge and go to the Family Tree without accidentally seeing your creatures. And, when you decide to finish your challenge, you can turn off Blind Genetics and see all of those genes your creatures have been hiding all of this time

  25. I love this idea! As for toggling the different predator types, it would be fun if we could alter their lifespans as well. For instance, if you wanted a challenge, you can make a bearyena live for 50 days.

  26. I also think we could be able to design our own islands, like what they look like, what climate they have, what biome, or we could mix and match, like have a mountain biome but the climate was super hot, like a desert.

  27. Yes! This way the sandbox would really feel like a sandbox!
