Bearyenas leave your animals with Distasteful Appearance alone UNLESS they are super hungry. They have internal stats for hunger and other motivations like fear, etc. I really need to make a feature request to add a new feature that makes these states visible when playing.5 points

@Snowy Owl You mean "professor frecklebottom" xD? Well, he was actually a classmate of mine. We asked him to dress up and play the professor in our video ^^5 points

Gills they need more of a purpose, may I suggest 2 swimming or an ability to lure the smallest of fish to give it purpose? Poison Fangs perhaps we could bring back the 1 strength to this gene or add some sort of battle cry(boosts adjacent creatures attack by +2) with this gene? Antlers ... a bit of a hassle to get, honestly outclassed by ram horns, perhaps they could add attractiveness in males? Because Male deer Hammer tail ... a supposedly strong powerful offensive tail, only gives an honestly puny 1 point of attack, maybe it could also inflict some sort of knockback? maybe it can knock back an enemy 1 or 2 tiles? or maybe this gene is ok now coz it has cracking2 points

The possibility to copy a selection and then paste it in another drone is incredibly useful. Upvoted I don't think it will be viable in the near future, but just as a discussion: I think it might be funny/useful to have a huge "scrapyard" where you can place different drones into one file/space, and you can copy and paste freely and build stuff/experiment. The drone you have selected last is the one which will be used in the simulation scene. And if you are happy with one construction, you can then either export/save it to a new file or simply copy it and then paste it in a new file. Just thinking out aloud, no plans2 points

I think it would be cool if there was a reaction button with a thumbs up. It could mean that someone agrees to what you are saying. The button might be titled "Agree".2 points

Tell me: What are your favorite games? (This includes Niche and Nimbatus!) Mine are Niche, Cattails and Minecraft ^.^ (everyone does ^^, but I think ^.^ looks cuter ^.^) Though I do hope to get WolfQuest and Tyto: Ecology Soon (I'm about to play Nimbatus Closed Alpha for the first time so I can't put that on the list quite yet) I just got Cattails recently and just got married to Scout (I'm on Spring 9th, Year 1 right now) Edit: I just remembered! I also love Pokemon Y too ^.^ (I recently memorized the Pokemon center music. I've also memorized 5 of the Anime them songs ^.^) (^.^ is now my favorite emoji )1 point

I want to draw some pictures of Nichelings, but I'm not sure how the ones with front limbs that aren't touching the ground would be used to walk, especially if they have double Deformed Paw. I tried drawing some quick sketches of ones with Deformed Paw, but they look like Dinosaurs. So, the question: If a Nicheling with, let's say, double Deformed Paw were standing up (is a position like they were on all four paws, even though their front ones don't touch the ground), what would they look like? Would they just walk like T-Rexs? Would they magically sprout limbs in order to walk and then de-sprout them once they stop? Clarification, please!1 point

3 Balance Bears, Bearyena (just killed it), Blue Birds, Rogue Males, and now ram foxes...? I've been rolling a number for how many pack members I can have at a time, and currently, it's 5. Gosh the dramas this pulled out XD At first I had twin boys on top of the nest on the tree. But one of them had to go down into the middle of 3 balance bears if they wanted to grow up. Fate can be so cruel... (The other twin brother grew up in the tree. You can see on the left. I didn't let him down, 'cause they can't come back up, AND their attacks are so low they can't even attack the bears)1 point

So when you edit a drone, there are times you wish you could borrow stuff from drones you already made. With a save as parts group button while having a bunch of parts selected (the one selected and all the ones hooked up to it), It would then be possible to reuse parts arrangements in multiple drones instead of without rebuilding from duplicates (or even from scratch). Basically it would be like a big inter-drone clipboard.1 point

With Leech Tail I think the parasite ( Leech ) will not be able to attach itself to Nichlings with Leech Tail. And when you kill it instead of dropping one leech it drops two!. And i think its appearance should be a long thin tail like the fishing tail but instead of bait on the end their is a Leech the exact color of one too. Any other suggestions to help this become a real gene.1 point

Despite the fact that it's winter here in Australia, clearly it is Bushfire Season in my niche world right now! This fire started pretty early when I arrived in the savannah and just never stopped burning. I've been trying to migrate all my creatures down towards the ports (and have the babies I need for the next generation on the way) but even that couldn't save them! A new fire spawned right next to one of my newborn babies, right where their dad was standing!! Hopefully everyone will be able to survive the eight more days needed to finish unlocking all the hot climate genes!1 point

Gills don't help with fishing in real life, so I doubt Gills would get +1 Fishing. I do agree that Poison Fangs should get something else, since it's useless if you have Scorpion Tail.1 point

But why should it be fair? In the end it is about survival and fairness has no place there1 point

I'm really not sure what is going on with the achievements. They seem to work most of the time, but some just don't seem to work for some people sometimes. Makes absolutely no sense programming-wise ^^' It seems that most times they unlock at some point when you managed to reach them. It may be due to unstable internet connections, but I'm really not sure.1 point

First, the swoopagon drops 50 food, its a lot, but is it worth the risk? probably. Second, yes, alpha predators double their lifespan, so thay are twice as deadly in every aspect. Third, I didnt think of an alpha swoopagon, but now that you mention it, yes, it exists, but it only has a chance to show up once you have spent a long time on a nightmare island o if you have spent a veery long time on another island. Fourth, I like the idea of a alpha baby bearyena, but bearyena genes with double their stats is op even in challenge mode. Your nichelings could have up to 23 strength! However, Maybe there is a very slim chance of finding an alpha baby bearyena, but the only alpha gene it would give you would be alpha bearyena snout, which greatly reduces bearyena agression, and gives you 4 strenght.1 point

You can survive with one breeding pair just fine, but two make it easier. Just make sure that your breeding pair has different immunities and that they have children of the oposite gender with different immunities as well, that should be just fine1 point
-
Agreeing with @Lilytuft. My tribe that just got me the Still Alive! achievement has a lot of immunities. Whenever a wanderer comes, try and breed them in (If they have really bad genes, and you already have a good amount of immunities, don't bother. Just know that even the best wanderer usually has a few bad genes you don't want.). Recently I had to breed in a couple wanderers to get a couple more immunities, but now their descendants have some genes I don't want. But, eventually, I'll be able to lose them. Though it is hard to get bad genes out sometimes-- once I only had females and so when I found a Rouge Male I rejoiced, but then many more Rouge Males appeared after him, so now half the tribe is Albino, and another quarter carries it recessive!) I'm still hoping we'll find A Immunity again, since we lost it a while ago (I didn't even realize we lost it until there wasn't even a dead Nicheling on the Family Tree left with it)-- I've also lost F Immunity because I forgot to breed the one creature who had it (her father was a Rouge Male, and her mother was the daughter of a Rouge Male, so I kinda forgot that I was supposed to breed her even though she had bad genes. R.I.P. Koral ).1 point

I want to see how well my idea for an attack satellite works in the latest build.1 point

hmmm they never follow my nicheling long maybe a day by coincidence, but with the bearyena head he seems to be doing it until adulthood1 point

Lets discuss and share our theories about how the world was and how the different species looked during the ancient era of niche, the time where armor body and saber teeth nichelings roamed without being frozen. What were their predators, what did they hunt, and why are the prehistoric nichelings the only ancient creatures that ended up frozen? Maybe we will even get answers from the devs!1 point
-
maybe there were giant predatory arthropods like centipedes with the sheer size and intmidating power of arthropleura, the giant carboniferous millipede it's crazy I know, but prehistoric creatures have TONS of defense1 point

@Skysplash8 Thanks! You gave me all I really wanted to know. Going to save picture of a few favorites and restart. We will call that first try a lesson on what not to do. LOL1 point
-
I think you only restart with home island immunity if you go extinct on the island where you lost it (before travelling to a new island). I wish this wasn't the case, because it seems like a shame to have to start over from scratch if you travel after losing the home island immunity, but I think this is still how it works.1 point

squealing is like callling, so you can do it on a stump or tree, and it works well if you have little smelling or hearing in the tribe1 point

After multiple days of experimenting and trying different things (including reinstalling steam/Niche), Steam/Niche has ran about 30 minutes with no issues yet. I'm assuming I've lost the save I worked months on, so I will attempt to start a new game where it's slot was. I will update what happens. UPDATE: New story ran fine. All other saves were updated to 1.1.4 and playable. So so far everything is going well. Sad to loose that hard work, but at least I can play again. I'll be sure to make backups this time. Lol @Philo not sure you ever got around to looking at the uploads or not, just giving you an update.1 point

yes but I can not play for a long time ... about an hour and it starts to get out, but I tried it on another PC with more ram and a 64 bit windows 7 and it went perfectly, I think it's the system, forgive the delay of my answer, and thank you very much, I will solve it and I will have to change my PC, but it would be a good idea to optimize it a bit in that aspect, thank you very much and very good game! keep in that way!!1 point

I think that ancient nichelings were either the apex predators of their time, or they had to deal with extremely deadly predators that caused them to become so strong and defensive. There may have been ancient versions of the balance bears and ramfoxes, like large saber teeth bears and fast dire foxes with heavier ramhorns. Maybe there were apes on these islands, huge snow dwelling apes unlike anything we have seen before, or maybe some extinct creature we have no clue existed. I wish we at least had a clue of what their predators looked like. Maybe in a future update we could find decorative fossils, or a game developer could answer, for now, all we have is speculation.1 point

I suspect that they lived on warmer climates, like the grasslands but a bit colder, the ice age eventually caused them to adapt and develop the genes we can find, but they all ended up freezing at the coldest part of the ice age, where the snowstorms were deadlier and colder than in modern times, thats when their slowness came into effect1 point
