  1. I'd like it if we could generate an island, and then add stuff ourselves. Like, generate a peaceful meadow and then be able to choose what kind of grasses are there, and be able to place and remove stuff like bunny burrows, berry bushes, tree stumps, etc. That'd give us so much more control! And what if we could save these islands so they can be in our game normally, like we make it once, save it, and then boom implement it into files or smth and it's another island?? -cough cough- plus I can't get enough tree stumps for a Lek Mating Challenge and I seriously need this option Edit: So @PopsicleNinja had a good idea. This could become its own seperate update. So I suggest this: If this is the 1st rated thing or in the top 3, could the admins, mods, and all of them ppl consider that as an option? Because I do realize this is a very big, but would be a loved request.

  2. I never thought a rogue's baby would become one of my ever favorites nichelings. I once had this royal family with purple eyes ( the purple eyes being the sign of their royality). A rogue male attacked one of my female which was the leader's mate and also the mother of the whole royal family. She then ran away in the savana and gave birth to the baby and she raised him all alone. The baby had one claw so she tought him how to use it. I initially thought he was gonna be just another uselees creature, and as every rogue baby he was am omega, but after his mother passed away he surprised everyone. He became the bearyena slayer ! He defended the tribe and killed 3 bearynas ! He became famous and loves, being finally accepted by the royal familly as the hero he was. He found himself a mate ( which he saved from a bearyena) and had 2 beautiful scorpion-tailed babys! also here are some other of my favorites nichelings.

  6. I saved a black swallowtail from my garage floor. She was pretty old , and I bet dehydrated. She didn't live the night, but she was comfortable when she passed. I named her Midnight, not sure if it was a male or a female though. She looked like that, even though it;s not a picture of her.

  9. I feel like I have been waiting for this since I started playing niche. You could do these things in old strategy games, but that feature is really lacking in newer ones. I think there were multiple requests for an island that offers all the features in the game, biomes included, so that everything could be unlocked there in the last voting. Imagine that island as a custom killer biome, that would offer some really great challenges! It seems like a lot of programming effort, though. I hope this either gets more votes or keeps being requested until given a chance. I'll defintely keep my hopes up for this one.

  10. I would prefer no cap, because sometimes I find a great island and can unlock so much there! And it's a pain to travel everywhere to unlock stuff I could just get at the island I like.

  13. I love all the animimals~! ❤️ All kinds! Except for buzzing insects like wasps/hornets/bees- they scare me. But ants, butterflies, and moths are really cool! And I've grown up around cats and dogs, as well as horses, goats, and a firebelly newt in childhood, so they're all awesome! And one of my family members owns two reptiles that are both sooo cuuute! I'd never own a bird as a pet, though; they're too pure for this world. I'll just enjoy them from afar.

  14. I studied game design (Bachelor and Master). But it was very hard for me too choose between game design and biology. So I made a deal with myself to make a biology game as my final thesis for my game design studies. And that's how Niche was born ^^

  16. 3 Balance Bears, Bearyena (just killed it), Blue Birds, Rogue Males, and now ram foxes...? I've been rolling a number for how many pack members I can have at a time, and currently, it's 5. Gosh the dramas this pulled out XD At first I had twin boys on top of the nest on the tree. But one of them had to go down into the middle of 3 balance bears if they wanted to grow up. Fate can be so cruel... (The other twin brother grew up in the tree. You can see on the left. I didn't let him down, 'cause they can't come back up, AND their attacks are so low they can't even attack the bears)

  17. I would love to see carrots in niche, so I made this. Carroot is like a carrot but purple. (Because carrots used to be purple.) Carroots would grow in random places on grassland islands. You would need digging ability to collect them. They would grow like this: 1st day: Just top of the carroot is shown (You can collect it, but you get just 1 nesting material) -> 2nd day: Carroot is ready to be picked up! It gives 3 food and 1 nesting material. There's a hole for a new carroot. New one starts to grow when its raining. Adult animals can hold carroots in their mouths and put them down. When they put them on different places, more carroots will grow around them. They can't put them in their growing hole again. If you pick carroot in its first day (when it isn't ready) it will never grow up (gives just 1 nesting material). I haven't decided, which snouts could pick carroots. Any ideas? Facts/ideas about it: •Rabbils like them •You can stand on them without breaking them •Roots appear under it after harvesting them Do you have any ideas? Should something be different? I'll add some of the good ideas of yours to the Facts/ideas. Thanks to: Fishyfishyfishy500 for the re-plasing and planting new carroots - idea. Thanks to Dazenith for the idea, that you would need digging ability to collect carroots.

  18. I have quite a few wanderer stories I want to tell. I just started a bearyena challenge tribe and started on Summer Mountains, I intend to go to the Burning Savanna and then work my way to Killer Island, where I'll try getting bearyena hybrids. Shortly after starting, I found these two wanderers! They don't share an immunity gene, but they might as well be a mother and daughter pairing. Maybe the one on the right found the one on the left, and they teamed up. Today, in a deleted save file on Deadly Hills, a mother was forced to step away from her baby, and a wanderer popped up out of nowhere and stood next to the baby. Keep in mind that there were two or three bluebirds in the sky. Yesterday, I had the bad luck of getting my mountain tribe caught in the snow almost immediately after traveling to Long Winter. A chain of events happened that killed my tribe. While there was still snow, I saw a male and female couple of wanderers nearby, waiting out the snowstorm together. I couldn't invite them, probably for the better. In that same tribe, I found a wanderer in the sea, and rescued him. I very often encounter wanderers that make me wonder if they were banished from their tribes, and it's especially obvious when I'm near the coast and a wanderer with water-related traits pops up. I told these stories before, but here are two more noteworthy stories from the cursed save file I complained about in another post: I was on Archipelago, and just as the last creature was about to cross, a blind wanderer got hit by a coconut. I was getting ready to leave Swampy Hill, and a second blind wanderer appeared. There had been a glitch where a mini jungle appeared in the middle, and I'd sent my elderly creature up there. That wanderer was also fairly old, so I sent her up to the jungle, and I like to think they had a family together.

  20. I had to upvote because carrots are my favourite vegetable. But in all seriousness having a vegetable food source would be a nice alternative that I don't believe has been added yet. Edit: Oh yeah and instead of adding a new ability for "Picking" I would think harvesting Carroots would use Digging.

  26. I think I only have heard the term 'sumo battles' in conjunction with Nimbatus the other game of the dev team, so I guess somebody mixed up the two games and it doesn't affect Niche in the slightest.

  27. Okay okay this is so funny. So I got to a grass mingle and like 25 days in, I see this. Two Koi together, with fish surrounding them and a very pretty scene with the algae in the bottom, like a yin and yang fish thing! Like this! Now my tribe will worship Koi. Why? Because why not.

  28. I experience this very weird phenomenon, where if one of my nichelings dies by drowning, then something bad will happen. In my infamously "cursed" save file, three elders died before I was able to get across the the last island in the archipelago, and my tribe immediately started going downhill. I had so much bad luck it was absurd. After two toxic-bodied rogue males, an annoying amount of jungle foliage, several carnivorous plants, and incredibly scarce food, my tribe finally starved to death. I think letting three of my nichelings die made a water god very angry. In my current save, I had one tribe member drown. After that, my tribe started starving to death in the freaking archipelago. Luckily, I didn't delete my save in frustration, and ever since I reached the Oasis, my tribe only got better. When I began having a problem with deformed paw and derp nose due to having to breed with wanderers to prevent inbreeding, something happened. Two of my creatures gave birth to a big-nosed, double-clawed creature with water body, frog legs, and even big ears. I had water body and claw in the mutation menu, and the derp-nose had recessive big nose, but my creatures didn't have frog legs or big ears. Now I'm on my third generation of water creatures, shooting for tailfin.

  29. I don't think this makes sense, while I can see how it would offer a challenge and maybe balance, it would not make sense for a mutation not to unlock when it has the requirements met, meaning it would make no sense for Nichelings not to adapt just because the universes decides it shouldn't be

  30. Hi! today I would like to bring you a idea me and my friend Snowyowl thought off. Multiplayer mode! How this works: when you create a new world, you have the choice of multiplayer or Single player, if you choose multiplayer you will be given a code you can then share to any other person playing. The maximum Is four players but the more players you have the better computer need because it could crash with all those nichling. Once creating the world lets say I hand the code to snowy and she hops in, you then play the game like any other. Me and snowys characters our Adams and eves would start next to each other. You can then combined your tribes and work together by clicking a button allowing you to both control all the niching's with same food supply and nichling count OR you can play it as too separate tribes/clans For separate mode: - Lets say I want one of my nichlings to get genes from one of snowys, they could meet up and have children :3 the owner of the mother would get the niche baby and that's about the end of it! -Me and snowy are obsessed with warrior cats, I think it would be cool to have like each of us our own clan, and if our patrols meet at border and want to fight you can request to turn on battle mode. this allows the creatures to attack each other theres 3 settings in battle mode: SImple, when attacking the niching's it will never severely damaged or kill them like claws sheaved Normal, normal attack but the nichlings cant die and Death, there's no rules, cats can die -if you want to delete the world all of your niching's turn rouge -when one person leaves to a new island, you will fill up all the plots then go to the next island, the Snowy can fill up the plots and go to the same island to stick together! of course this doesn't have to happen and you guys can go to different islands but then whats the point of multiplayer mode. -slight change, when a baby is born the two members decide which person gets the child, you can later send it back to the other 'clan/tribe' by simply turning it rouge and having the mom or any member come get it.

  31. Hi! The devs have already stated that there will not be an online multiplayer mode due to how difficult it would be to implement. However, a local multiplayer suggestion exists here: https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/943-multiplayer/

  32. Basically what the title says. I've always wanted to toggle things like the apes on and off, or remove carnivorous plants entirely. Do you want some more bunnils to spawn in your save file, but remove bluebirds so they can't steal the meat you get from them? Want packs of hostile Ramfoxes to roam the mountains, so your tribe has to compete with them for everything from food to space, but get rid of Balance Bears because they are a nuisance? This setting makes it possible.

  33. I used the console to start with fully crippled creatures, derpsnout, no paw, one blindness gene, frog legs, white fur and the lean body for 0 attack. Barely fertile. Any genes to mutate were determined by the random generator at birth. As soon as two kits are compatible, the parents stop breeding. No mixing with wanderes allowed, but one does start with 100 food. I tried this two times. You'll never know what you end up with!

  34. Well my first instinct was to say Oasis and the story was similar to Skysplash's but that would be boring so I rummaged through my brain and rembered the time when I started at the burning savannah to see if I could survive long enough for big ears and lean body (50 days), at the time that I tried it the burning savannah was still pretty new and the whole community was in dispair because it was said that you couldn't survive there longer than a few days (when starting there). So I started there and was lucky to find like four berry bushes in close proximity to each other. That was my main camp and then it became really fun. Wanderers all over the place, bearyenas all over the place, trying not to die of fire, starvation or bearyenas. That were good times though after a few generations (which went by fast considering it was an honor to be sacrificed to the cacti) it calmed down a little. We had enough claws to hunt bearyenas and somehow managed to gather enough food, so I guess until the fires burned everything to the ground I probably could have survived indefinitely. And I love the blind genes challenge, sometimes even paired with the no mutation menu challenge

  35. I've tried a few challenges before, but my favourite has been starting in a difficult biome and trying to survive and thrive without using the console. So far I've established flourishing and successful tribes through this challenge on the Sleepy Reeds, First Snow, Summer Mountains and Rainforest islands. I also once, in an earlier version of the game, had a tribe head immediately to the Oasis biome without having any water genes, and somehow they survived and adapted. Sadly I lost that save, but they ended up having around fifteen creatures, most with water body, and a lot of claws, platypus beaks and fishing tails. I think it's pretty safe to say they would've survived just fine. EDIT: I did also start a tribe in the Burning Savannah and survived, but that tribe was still in a bit of a precarious position when I lost the file because the game updated. At one point, a small patch of grass was dubbed Bearyena town, because within ten days or so, four or five bearyenas spawned there, and three of them had babies with them. I didn't have enough food to waste on inviting them, so I just let them stand there and grow up to hunt them down for more food once they were grown and aggressive. It was so funny to see a Bearyena family meet-up consisting of one hostile one that had shown up during the night and three friendly ones of varying ages, looking at eachother in the Hearing vision.

  40. When I was a kid me and my friends found a baby blackbird. There were some cats circling around it, so we thought it's now or never. We took it home and and feed it cat food with a tweezer. It survived and grew into an adult black bird. We even taught it to fly by throwing it into the air and catching it again. When it had grown up we brought it to a bird care center which also releases them into the wild again. It was a female blackbird and we named her Shima ^^

  46. I saved a baby bird once! Me and my familly went to live on a farm for a month when I was really young. We were observing the chickens when I found a strange black chick. At the time the only word I knew in english was Baby for some reason, so I yelled ''Baby! Baby!''. The owners of the farm then realized it wasn't a chick but a baby robin! We kept the baby robin safe, hoping his mom would come back. And she did! The end. And that's how I saved the baby birb.

  47. This is Rikuta, his name is a combination of his father's name and his mother's name. His mother needed to pass on an immunity gene before she died but had no mate. His father desperatly wanted a mate and to be a father. They happened to meet on his mother's last day alive. She died as she gave birth to Rikuta.
