Imagine having your bearyena headed creature roar out from a stump XD I would run if I were a Nicheling4 points

it would be cool to make a maze out of rocks that you could give to a friend to survive on. or make it big and dont remember the way thru XD. you could make the paths 1 wide except for little stops for berry bushes and things like that. you could also make the very end impossible to reach without breaking the rocks so that you need to breed with bearyenas to beat the island.3 points

Nah, he's cute! Okay, maybe he's staring into our souls, but maybe he's just searching for somebody to love him3 points

I'd try to make a continent island. It would be a very large island with a decent amount of each biome in it. Temperatures and climate would depend on which part you were on (for example, it would be mild if you were in the grassland part while it would be cold if you were in the mountain part.) Biome-specific predators/prey (such as balance bears) never leave their home climate. The ocean would start off shallow, though get deep a couple tiles in. The island wouldn't have that many ocean tiles.2 points

I think another tribe used to live there, who had special genes that we haven't seen before that let's them make permanent nests. But it's been so long since they were there that all/most of the grass on the island has grown back.2 points

i think the strong voice is just for scaring away predators. i kinda don't feel like that would also be attractive.2 points

How did this all start? I experimented on a rogue male. Before the hunt, I recreated some legendary nichelings with the console -- or at least, attempted to. They never look quite the same. The rogue got wings, as he was meant to mate with a bird of mine. However... I was curious if he could fly properly now. Fly he did! Right into my water line. The funny thing is, they mate as they land, simutaneuosly. If you have good eyes, you might have spotted the product of this forbidden relation. And so it ended as it all began. My nichelings committed the same crime as the hunted.2 points

10. The last Hunt. The northern morale is shattered. Our birds are on their own. Mama angry bird delivers the last blow. Have they truly won? Has she attained revenge for her sister, when the rogue male population is as steady as ever? These are the last moments of her life. In the war against darkness, stalemate is victory. Deep down she knows though, that her line and her purpose will never die. Because her husband has a thing for ducks. There ain't any rogues in the sea, man. Yet2 points

Yeah, thought about the bitten thing as well oh and licking a bleeding one could be more or less the solution as there is not much that can make a toxic body Nicheling bleed currently as they are usually avoided by predators and leeches can't harm them anymore either2 points
-
I don't really agree, but thats mostly because I got the impression that a nicheling's poison isn't topical, like a poison dart frog, but instead must be actually bitten into and ingested. You will notice that the toxic body anatomy has a lot more mass around the neck area, which appears to be meant to be an extra organ created for the sake of making poison, but that poison appears to be stored there rather than secreted on the skin, like frogs. Considering nichelings appear to be naturally furry creatures as well, I feel like it would be pretty inefficient to secrete poison under all that fur, especially fur that needs to be groomed like any furry creature. This is just how I've interpreted things though. Now, licking a toxic bodied nicheling who is bleeding out after being attacked could be a different story!2 points

Sickness sucks, right? Yes. Yes it does. Don't even try to argue. So what if we could turn off either the common cold itself, or the spreading of it if you still want that little challenge of immunities. I feel this should also include the Sleeping Sickness, as that sucks even worse. So, puddles would still form in swamps but wouldn't spawn the evil death mosquitoes.1 point

I feel like the nests we have now in the game do not really match up with the biome. like nests built in the water should look more like seaweed and coral or maybe a nest built in the mountain biome should look like those dark colored plants you find on the mountain with white flowers in it, the jungle biome nest should look colorful. Basically what I am trying to say we should have different types of nests depending on what biome they are currently located in.1 point

Or has anybody found a short snouted wanderer lately? I don't miss it for the more obvious reasons, it's a little odd, though. My findings were mostly: Derp Snout > Purr Snout >/< rec. beak = active platypus beak. > big nose. With an influx of platypus beaks or purr snouts, varying from tribe to tribe. The big nose was rare, and when they had it, they were blind.1 point

Short Snouts A simple thing about them Who has seen them in the last month or more of playing the game? Because I sure haven't. Wether it be wanderers or nichelings of my own, short snout is basically gone. So can we fix that? Basically what I'm asking: -Increase Short Snout spawn rates in wanderers and starters 'Cause let's be honest Short snout is so damn rare anymore no one gives it a second thought.1 point

I have played the game about 13 hours total so far. 90% of wanderers I found had derp snout. All others had big nose. Often they had shortsighted eyes but no homozygous blind eyes yet. I have only been super lucky with one who had big nose, double claw, scorpion tail and recessive beak.1 point
-
I have one line of short snouts. My first one, melon, had watermelon, who just had strawberry. All have short snout. By next generation I think it will be extinct since strawberry is the only one who has it. Most of my tribe has big nose, derp snout, cracker jaw, bearyena snout or purr snout. With two beaks and a platypus beak. I only had cracker jaw, purr snout and derp snout for the longest time (thanks, starters and literally every single wanderer... 🙄) but once big nose was unlocked, it took over very quickly. It’s a shame about short snout since although it isn’t super useful, it’s absolutely adorable!1 point
-
I am not sure if I catch your meaning. Is this a good or bad thing? I didn't really play niche when they had short snouted starters, so I wouldn't know.1 point

we need this i want glowy nichelings please also shouldn't it give -1 camoflauge if completely glowing? because glowing isnt exactly sneaky and what if it glowed the color of the eyes?1 point
-
I think they are fallen tree stumps that have comfy moss growing in them, so nichelings use them as nests because they are comfy. shrug1 point
-
maybe the wanderers but i don't like the idea of one of my nichelings just randomly deciding to go join the other tribe1 point
-
Totally agree! Though personally Razhoranas don't bother me, since that only attack bleeding creatures. But anyways, this would be awesome! I always feel like no one ever gets hurt, ever, in my main tribe. Some have Bearyena claws and all of them have antlers, so they take Bearyenas down easily.I can't wait until I take them to the Jungle or Snowy islands1 point
-
@bostonlobstah I have. I like it, but I also like the idea of being able to switch on or off sicknesses and toggle their spreading. I also upvoted your idea1 point
-
Check out my suggestion too, that is switching off immunities. I like the idea of immunity sickness not spreading1 point

(This story is complete) 1. The setting. This island is made for experimentation, and we recently got a whole batch of females to attract the rogues. We" ll give this one a prettier face and make it female. 2. Attraction. They do approach males... and females. Is this just their idle animation, though? 3. The pregnant rogue (fe)male #1 Many turns later, the specimen is finally trapped on a nest! This moment of truth, however... Results in a coffin birth. No baby? 4. The angry bird family is faced with an insurmountable rage. No revenge? This needs further testing!1 point

I feel like we can make sandbox mode a place where it can be easy for those looking to just mess around and also toggle-able so that it can be harder and more challenging for those seeking a step up from the campaign. best of both worlds 😊1 point

I have a thing where if I don't like my tribe, i usually end up deleting it. I have really only got myself 'attached' to three tribes, but other gods and goddesses have formed through other tribes as well. Emmai, the Goddess of Hunting. She saved the Oasis tribe by showing up as a wanderer right after the starters died (the male had claw, but he didn't pass it on to his children) and killing the Bearyena that threatened to finish the tribe once and for all in three hits. The suprising thing is that she's blind! She also held the recessive gene of Purr Snout, which the family already had, but she managed to strengthen it. Dukvan, God of the waters. He was found as a wanderer on a random tribe that no longer exists. I just liked him. Okay, I don't have many gods/goddesses. But anyways, here's the final 3 gods, all in one picture. THE ALMIGHTY AWESOME BLUEBIRDS OF HEALING FRUIT ISLAND. Once the tribe finds wings, I think I'm gonna try and make some birds Nichelings to worship the almighty Awesome Bluebirds who are all dead now.1 point

Okay! HAVE THIS LORE I LITERALLY JUST MADE UP FOR MY TRIBE! *ahem* A long time ago... (That's the worst possible introduction. Oh well.) A long time ago, when Adam found himself alone on an island far away from his own, he didn't actually know how to feel. Sad? Lonely? Like I said, he didn't know. At the time he also liked to mentally abuse himself, and thought sitting at the bottom of the ocean was a great way to pass the time. So he did, and drowned. But then some very godly star bois said "No, Adam. Drowning yourself is not a good way to die" and revived Adam, but this time he was a child, and he wasn't alone! There was another poison babe named Rere, but she had terrible immunity, so Adam blocked her friend request. But Rere didn't like that, and forced Adam to make a bunch of copies of themselves. Adam still didn't like that, so he drowned himself again, but the godly star bois didn't revive him this time. Oh well! Rere was confused why her other poison babe drowned himself, so she just made more copies of herself w/ her sick children. One day, a group of wanderers stumbled across the island, and when they saw what Rere was doing with her kids, they murdered her and turned her kids into child protective services. Those wanderers made their home on the island and made copies of themselves like mommy Rere, but they actually knew how to play Niche. The tribe flourished! They kidnapped a bunch of bearyena babies, too, which may have insulted some certain pro-bearyena creatures. One day, a very "special" creature named Takir was born, and claimed he was king of the tribe. The actual leader at the time, Rokir, was ticked at Takir, though, because he thought he was gonna usurp the throne. He ordered his followers to kill him, but they never returned. HMM. The next morning, Takir ordered his followers to kill Rokir, and it actually worked this time. Hooray, now Takir's the king of the tribe! But something's wrong: other than the people he forced to be on his side, he had no followers. So he forced everyone to like him by burning children. "Wow man, chill." The reasonable creatures said, but decided to follow him anyways. Takir eventually died and his children ruled, and promised the people that they wouldn't be like Takir. They didn't become Takir, and the tribe lived happily ever after 😆 (I bet a toddler could write a better story than that! Oh well. I already wrote it, and I don't want to re-write it.)1 point

Could he ever go down? Something tells me he got so startled when your tribe approached him that he just rushed up there. Or he had very bad winged parents who abandoned him for inheriting a digging paw and having a crippled wing.1 point

Well, its time to reveal my theory! Lilytuft, and the others, you have great speculative abilities! I believe it was the ancient dodomingos! Thanks to their beaks and great architecture skills, the dodomingos were able to build nests that could last forever. Now, dodomingos can no longer be seen building them because their ancestors already did it for them, and because they fear the nichelings will find out. Once the dodomingos built nests on every island, but something wiped out many of them. Many nichelings think that ancient nichelings built these nests, but that is just a lie the dodomingos invented to avoid being turned into nest building slaves for the nichelings!1 point

I didn't play the game until after the official release, but Spit Snout just doesn't make sense. It doesn't spit anything, so why would it be called Spit Snout? Besides, what if there was a head gene added that gave you the ability to spit? That would be confusing if there was an other head gene called Spit Snout. Derp Snout, however, makes sense. They're derpy.. Derpy Snouts, Derpy Snouts, Derpy all the wayyy, oh what fun it is to derp derp it all he way! DERP! (Derpy Snout version of Jingle Bells. Because I'm so creative.1 point

I'd create an island that was an extensive ocean with shallow and deep water, and islands made of mostly beach tiles with some mountain tiles as well, for rocks in the middle of the sea. Clams, a few coconut trees and crabbits are the main sources of food for Nichelings who cannot breathe underwater, but further down there are fish of all kinds and worms to be gathered with Platypus Beak. The climate of the island would be +1 heat, unless it's raining, then it would be 0 heat. Maybe there could even be a new tide mechanic, where every five or so days the ocean would rise and bring with it a lot of clams, and after five days it'd fall again and take any clams with them, as well as pull creatures who are in the water and have less swimming than their distance to the nearest beach/mountain tile out into the sea, one tile, two tiles or even three tiles far, depending on how deep the tile they are standing on is. This way, Nichelings who aren't careful could get swept away by the ocean and drown. Crabbits would get swept three tiles far, no exception, unless of course there's on land when the water retreats.1 point

I never thought a rogue's baby would become one of my ever favorites nichelings. I once had this royal family with purple eyes ( the purple eyes being the sign of their royality). A rogue male attacked one of my female which was the leader's mate and also the mother of the whole royal family. She then ran away in the savana and gave birth to the baby and she raised him all alone. The baby had one claw so she tought him how to use it. I initially thought he was gonna be just another uselees creature, and as every rogue baby he was am omega, but after his mother passed away he surprised everyone. He became the bearyena slayer ! He defended the tribe and killed 3 bearynas ! He became famous and loves, being finally accepted by the royal familly as the hero he was. He found himself a mate ( which he saved from a bearyena) and had 2 beautiful scorpion-tailed babys! also here are some other of my favorites nichelings.1 point

What about the genes you get from hybridizing with this creature I made up last month?1 point
-
Well thats fine, since any wandering creature is supposed to move as much as it wants as long as you are moving, and isn't constrained by the move limit that your own creatures have. I don't think that is an issue. I do agree it might be more realistic for wandering babies to have the same defense as normal babies though, and end up dead after just being attacked once.1 point

Hi, this is the wrong bug forum. This is for Niche and is on Nimbatus. Don’t worry about it, it happens all the time. Anyways, console controls are not an actual part of the game and will not be fixed. It’s also always important to back up your save files just in case anything is game breaking.1 point

Yes, spots are the only pattern that also get a random value, aditionally to the genetics. Maybe we should make sure to use the same random value if twins are born ^^1 point

I know this has already suggested and that wings will be implemented later on, but I'm just so excited for the possibilities of wings and flight! I've even drawn some illustrations of Nichelings with wings to help visualize my ideas, as well as give a breakdown of all the flying related genes for each. For how it would work in-game, if the wings are made into arms, each wing would give +1 Flight. You would need +2 Flight in order to fly; so thus, you'd need both arms to be wings in order to fly. If the wings are a body, then maybe just +Flight is given. Depending upon the wing, it could also give an extra stat, i.e. Bat Wings giving +1 Collecting, or Pterosaur Wings giving +1 Movement. +Aerodynamic would also be needed to fly. I'm not sure how flight will work mechanically, if it'll be like another type of movement (i.e. Walking, Swimming) and you can travel X amount of tiles (but much longer distance than either walking or swimming), or if it'll be something different. Whatever the case, there's still many possible wing and flying related genes you could have! All of these ideas are just examples of what wings could potentially be like. For example, you could have... Gliding Body! Not enabling for true flight, but allowing for gliding when jumping off of high tiles/trees! Stats: Gliding Body - +Gliding (Glide for 4 tiles or farther when at the top of a tree or tree stump.) Prehensile Tail - +Climbing (Able to climb up trees.) OR... Bat-like Wings, allowing for true flight, maybe short distance only Stats: Bat Wing - +1 Flight per Wing, +1 Collecting per wing Aerodynamic horns - +1 Strength, +Aerodynamic (The only horns you can fly with unless more variations are added.) OR... Pterosaur-like Wings, allowing for true flight, maybe long distance Stats: Pterosaur Wing(arms) - +1 Flight per Wing, +1 Walking Speed per wing Crow beak: +1 Smelling, +1 Cracking, +1 Strength Aerodynamic horns - +1 Strength, +Aerodynamic OR... Walking-On Wings, which enable the hindlegs to be used as paws Stats: Stilt wings (arms) - IF ONLY ONE WING PRESENT: +1 Walking Speed per Wing IF BOTH WINGS PRESENT: +1 Flight per Wing, +1 Walking Speed per Wing, +1 Swimming per Wing, +Off the Ground (A Nicheling needs +2 Flight in order to fly (so two wings), and +2 Off the Ground in order to have their hindlegs off the ground to become graspers.) Aerodynamic Snout - +3 Smelling, +Aerodynamic Nimble Hindlegs: IF OFF THE GROUND, THEN: +3 Collecting; IF NOT OFF THE GROUND, THEN: +2 Speed, +1 Swimming OR... Traditional add a third pair of limbs on the back route: Dragon Wing Body, "Feathered" Wing Body (feathers are actually modified fur), and/or "Feathered" Dragon Wing Body, all allowing for true flight! Stats: Dragon Wing Body - Flight Feathered Wing Body - Flight Feathered Dragon Wing Body - Flight (All genes give the ability of flight, they're just different cosmetically) OR... Hummingbird wings, allowing for hovering in the air and drinking nectar! Stats: Hummingbird Wing - +1 Flight per Wing, +Hover, +1 Hover Speed per Wing (Hover is only active when both wing genes are present. Hover works as a new form of locotion, allowing Nichelings to move across tiles (like walking/swimming). Wings will only work if Petite Body, Small Hind Legs, and Hummingbird tail are present.) Petite Body - +Petite, +Iridescent, +3 Scentless, +3 Stealth, +1 Heat Reistant (Petite makes a Nicheling look very small and scales down genes to size. Also makes Nichelings weaker to attacks, so they will take an extra day's worth of damage. Does not stack with normal damage. Iridescent makes a Nicheling look shiny. Hummingbird Beak - +3 Nectar Feeding, +3 Smell (Allows Nicheling to collect +3 food in the form of nectar per gem used.) Small Hind Legs - +1 Speed, +1 Swimming (Will act as a crippled verison of Hind Legs when not on Hummingbird Nicheling.) Hummingbird Tail - +Aerodynamic, +1 or 2 Hover Speed (Gives Aerodynamic to let a Nicheling fly, as well as either 1 or 2 Hover Speed. (I'm leaning towards +2).) There's so many more possibilities, like insect wings, owl wings, albatross wings, etc! I just wanted to put out a few ideas of the ideas I had. I hope you enjoy them!
