Went walking in our woods today, and look what we found! There were so many colorful mushrooms in the woods and some were huge! Thought I would share. Nature makes some beautiful surprises sometimes This picture includes the different types of mushrooms we found, including two hickory nuts and a blue jay feather. (Also a tiny sprig of...something in the second pic) 🍄 🍄🍄 (Sorry for the awful set lol)3 points

Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old balloon salesman, is about to fulfill a lifelong dream. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, he flies away to the South American wilderness. But curmudgeonly Carl's worst nightmare comes true when he discovers a little boy named Russell is a stowaway aboard the balloon-powered house. A Pixar animation. (I'm not sorry)2 points

We will use this thread to post fresh screenshots, videos and gifs of the new features and things we are currently working on. Here a sneak peak of the new call I'm working on. It can be used while you are on top of a treestump and it has a chance to attract wild animals! The lower your population, the higher the chance1 point

I've been playing Niche for a while on a different computer, and it worked wonderfully! With the new updates, it gained a small bit of lag, but nothing really noticeable. Now, I've switched to a newer computer, and the lag has become unbearable! Even on lowest settings, (Which I personally hate, because it takes away from the games beauty) there is still a few seconds delay when clicking, and usually it takes 1-3 seconds for the camera to move. Help? Another thing, whenever I want to select a creature, I have to click several times. It might be lag still, but I don't really know... (Also, this should be in the bug section, but because it might be lag, I'm putting it here)1 point

What are your stories? This swimmer was found by the whims. Sadly, the creature limit was 4. Bird in a warriors challenge. And that's how I found out that the mountain tribe starters had big ears. Blind genetics, oh well. And the beak. I don't know who dragged it in, but along with the ominous F immunity and the female peacock tail, it appears every two to three generations just to crawl back to where it came from. The whims really cross your plans. Big ears, armored body and fishing tail in the mountains? That just screams Oasis.1 point

What are the specs of your computer? You can get them by clicking on Help -> System Information inside Steam. If it's a better one than the previous one, it should not lag more. Please also make sure you have the newest graphic card drivers installed, sometimes new pc's are missing them.1 point

Before I switched computers, the intro music (Adam's story flashback) was fine. But ever since I switched, it's been really choppy and I don't know if it's just my computer or a bug.1 point

I started playing a roleplay challenge where after three generations, one of the nichelings declares themself the "alpha", or dictator of the tribe. In my first challenge save, I was sticking exactly to the rules of the "Utopia" challenge, where after three generations, rejected nichelings get drowned in the ocean, and this includes wanderers. In that save, I played it on Tiny Green because it's difficult to escape, and had my rejects hide in a patch of tall grass near a whale island port that was never cleared. Here's the dumb part: On that first save file, one of the nichelings got an idea: have the rejects secretly breed with each other to produce children that are acceptable, and then send the children into the main tribe as "wanderers". The "wanderers" would add to the gene pool, and spread their agenda of resisting the dictatorship. That sounds good on paper until you realize that the traits that could get a nicheling rejected include bad paw, bad eyesight/blindness, derp nose, and gene combinations that render a nicheling useless. (That last one is a judgement call.) Here's the even dumber part: That idea actually worked. Within a few generations, there was no point to having the secret tribe anymore because one member was getting old and the other was technically acceptable but chose to hold off because she looked too similar to her sister. By that point, the main tribe disliked the current dictator for being petty and irresponsible, so they revealed themselves and kicked out the dictator.1 point

Great idea ^^ Maybe on easier islands you have like...2 truns?...to accept their love until they become loyal? when you turn them down, they are heartbroken and become normal rogues or wander off, never finding love again....*sniff*1 point

Hi there, i think it would be nice to get special Mutations for long-lived tribes, either depending on Generations or survived days. Like special furcolor or -pattern when you survived 500 days and 1000+ days or a two-colored pattern. That way it`s pure cosmetic and doesn't change any game-mechanics. Maybe adding an achievement for that, too. Of course, one "extra-energy" or a few days more to live would be nice, too. But that would be something for even older tribes. Greetings, Kaga87 Edit: Hope it isn't posted yet, search isn't working for some reason for me (blankish page)1 point

Yes, I did. Since then, I’ve played on new save files only, and haven’t had a problem since.1 point

This is so cute! ❤️ :,0 It seems like such an amazing idea! -They could probably only spawn in medium and hard islands? That kind of makes sense.1 point
