  1. Originally I got two brothers who were born to the same parents who looked like they could be twins. Their parents didn't look anything like them, so I was surprised. I was kind of sad when they got old. But then the younger of the two had a baby (pic 3) that looked just like him the day he died. 😂 Then that one started getting old and before he died he had a baby.(Pic 4) It turned out to be the odd duck of the family. We'll see if I can continue the line.

  3. OK, so the drones can fly, but that doesn't mean they don't have to deal with land travel. Instead of having your drone scrape against the ground, why not slap some wheels onto it? Wheels would be able to have 4 basic settings, neutral, brake, rotate clockwise, and rotate counter clockwise. They could also just stick with the first one (or two) if the developers aren't up to having them all. Stop that soaring and let's get rolling! This idea brought to you by my memories of Affordable Space Adventures.

  8. Think a tractor beam part might be a good addition? It could work somewhat like the magnet, but directional. Maybe have it include an adjustable arc for it to affect.

  9. I think snipers are awesome but the old one was a little bit difficult to use. I suggest a super fast bullet that travel as a straight line, high power, range and penetration at cost of rate of fire. Think like an instant beam sniper.

  10. I frequently find that I want to translate one key press into multiple key presses. For instance, if I have a ship with "tank" controls, I'll want to activate the thrusters on the left when I hit A, the thrusters on the right when I hit D, and all of the thrusters when I hit W. Right now this is doable with a bunch of If blocks, but that's kind of a pain in the butt to set up and maintain. It would be nice if there was a single "demux" or "demultiplexer" component, that could (for instance) directly turn W into G and B.

  12. Hey crew, We just released the update 0.5.7 for Nimbatus. It fixes some problems you found and adds two new logic parts. New Features: Added NOR Gate Added Triggered Impulse part that acts similar to an impulse giver, but can be triggered by an input key. Reworks: Added Tooltips for Impulse Givers Editor Settings (Center of Gravity, Tags, etc. ) are now persistent Balancing: Slowed down the turning speed of the Snake Bugfixes: Fixed overlapping music while inside Sumo Testarena Fixed floating point input fields on systems that use comma as decimal seperator First launch on Linux systems will now be windowed mode to avoid resolution problems Fixed a display bug for the page control in the drone browser Thanks for reporting bugs and posting suggestions, keep it up!   18. Just a rope/chain to attach a magnet to would allow the creation of a crane... or maybe a wrecking ball... ...which would certainly not be used for hedgehog extermination! 😅

  23. Aside from the bug that rogue males get stuck in the water by themselves or if a female leads them there... This little one almost died digging up worms. Digging up worms may not be a bug, but it damages wanderers regularly. Should this be fixed?

  24. As seen, the crabbit spawned on an occopied tile when I passed the turn. It can be attacked, doesn't move or turn around.

  25. A rope block that you can lower and raise through two buttons, maybe the rope just goes through objects to make it easier. A direct magnet/grappling hook thing that allows you to latch onto terrain and other objects, but only those it is in contact with. Maybe a glue block that you can set to a specific type of object like terrain or metal objects? This would allow for you to build better collector builds, allowing for easier completion or collection of the scraps, bio barrels, and red material boxes.

  26. Sorry for all the late entry ideas hahaha. What about just a simple entry mode where it randomises everything, like even the type of island you land on so you can just set up a quick game without needing to overthink it hahaha.

  27. Make the gravity sensor detect nearby hives, or eggs for the snake mission, or even bio barrels. they could also detect any large monsters on the world, like the snake, or the lava shark, or bosses if those get added in

  28. In the graphics options, there should be a setting to limit the max frames per seconds that are getting rendered. Nimbatus isn't very taxing on the hardware, which is why it's rendered at >300fps for me - way above the 144fps my monitor can handle. I'm not even sure I need 144fps in this game, but anyway: rendering at >300fps is just wasting energy and creating heat for nothing.

I have only counted 6 objectives so far (transmitter, hive, snake eggs, bio barrel, unstable core, sumo) and am just throwing some suggestions out there for more Infiltrate - enter a base and steal steal the heavily guarded treasure. Would be cool to use cryogenic weaponry to freeze cameras, plasma to create a smokescreen to block a laser, bio to dig around a very secure area, or just charge in there guns blazing racing the timer for the vault to close Egg retrieval - collect the fragile egg of a rare creature for study and conservation, but the mother wont be happy about it. Extra challenge if there isnt enough magnetic material in the egg to pick it up with a magnet Destroy - an interplanetary parasite has infected this planet beyond recovery, destabilise the core so it destroys the planet before the parasite can spread. Maybe use plasma or cryogenic weaponry to heat up or cool down the core Scan - organisms have somehow managed to inhabit the harsh climate of this planet, observe and scan them so we can learn a bit more about surviving in this climate. Go around the surface and scan? maybe just get kinda close to native creatures. It could either be very hot, very cold, or a permanent meteor shower. Dismantle - take apart and retrieve parts of a crashed ship that are dangerous to the ecosystem. Perhaps parts of the ships defence system is still functional Dogfight - a malicious drone is on the loose, take it down. Like the sumo arena, except the goal is to destroy the other drone with weapons instead of pushing it out of the ring And also a couple of objective modifiers which change how you take on the challenge Interference - drone cannot be controlled, like in the sumo arena. The challenges are much simpler though and it can only apply for certain levels Territorial - a giant snake mom ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) has inhabited this planet and does not like intruders Tides - a very large moon orbits the planet which causes a tidal effects on a much larger scale, to the point of nullifying gravity or doubling it Rich Resources - theres a lot of natural resources on the planet, but because of this theres a lot of enemies to defend it I also drew a little bit for each objective/modifier because I was bored

  30. Is there any way to alter the controls in the drone editor? As in changing the keys to rotate parts from the "," and "." keys to say, "Q" and "E"? if there already is can someone tell me, as i have not been able to find it myself.

  36. I see, the problem is the comma. I will change the input field to use an culture invariant parsing, this means you will need to use . instead of , after the next patch But it should fix the input problems

  37. There is a push and pull upgrade for the lasers. It can be used to push something away or pull it towards you. However it only works against enemies at the moment. The magnet also affects your own parts.

  40. Has any consideration been given to a part that would work like the resource collector, but instead works with fuel/power/resources stored in a drone piece? Just... you've got your little gathering of fuel tanks (We'll call it the "station") decoupled and left somewhere out of the way of trouble and the mobile part of the drone (We'll just call it the "drone") has a non-refueling tank and this fuel collector piece (Calling this one the "collector"). You fly the drone to the station and activate the collector. The collector starts drawing fuel from any nearby sources and spreads it among fuel tanks that are physically connected to it. In this case, it'll be drawing fuel from the tanks in the station. This collector could possibly draw fuel from tanks it's connected to in order to redistribute fuel between connected tanks so that a large, emptied fuel tank could get refilled by smaller tanks to the point that all tanks on the drone reach empty at the same time. It could also see some use with resource collection by having a largish drone make mini resource collecting drones with factory blocks and having them collect resources in much the same way early demos did with the minidrones giving their resources to the main drone.

There desperately needs to be a multi-select in the editor so you can select multiple of the same part and Clone as well as set the key to activate. also a shortcut to set the activate key would be helpful(although less needed with multi-select) Preferably multiple methods like Drag Select and CTRL Click.

  44. Thank you, that did seem to fix things! I noticed the Stray Fawn logo was garbled looking, but the game seems to be working now. ~edit~ I also noticed that if I launch the game that way, then go into video options and select full screen, the game continues to work after this point. I even closed the game and relaunched in full screen mode, and it continued to work. It must have something to do with that first time launching the game?

  45. Hey Thanks for reporting You can try to start the game in windowed mode, maybe this will fix your issues. Please locate this folder: ~/.config/unity3d/Nimbatus/Nimbatus/ There should be a settings.ini inside this folder, open it and change the values to this. UseFullScreen = 0 ScreenWidth = 1920 ScreenHeight = 1080 Then restart the game and see if it works. We are currently working on a fix right now.

  47. Absolutely. A way to grab things without a magnet is definitely needed. You can already build a grappling arm, but eventually we'll have a part which does that for you.
