  1. So what you're saying is: Also uh thanks for linking my suggestion

  2. Right now albinism in niche is a desirable gene due to it's beutiful looks, even tough it removes all camoflauge. In real life albino animals have a really small change of surviving. They lack protection from UV and have bad eyesight. I have had rats with red eyes, and they all had bad eyesight. (I haven't had an albino rat, but many colors like marten come with red eyes.) So my suggestion is to edit following stats on albino nichelings: remove all heat recistance make it so that albino nichelings can only have blind or shortsighted eyes This is just to make the game more realistic. Albinism is currently too easy to survive with. If a lot of people don't want it, we could make it a sandbox option! 3. You could choose an option in which you have two or more tribes in one game. Pretty much you have the option to create (and customize) two starter creatures per separate tribe. These tribes could be on separate land, and you can switch between tribes while playing the game.

  4. When will features form the demo and previous versions of nimbatus be added? Like arenas and shops, or transmiter drones in the test arena rather than the arena bots.

  5. I suggested just this in closed alpha, harped on it almost. I would kill someone for this kind of hinge functionality. I'd also kill a second person to have directional-sensor follow targets.

  6. Quite simply like reassembly other factions with their own unique type of block shapes and weapons etc adds so much diversity and flavour to the game. but if factions are not your game then just more block shapes would be cool

  7. Currently i feel the current set of planet based missions lack variety. The inhibitors (slow down mechanic) can also be tedious and frustrating. You could have non planet missions. With a play style similar to Reassembly you could just for example have a mission type called "Assault" that has the objective where your drone has to destroy a mini fleet of drones a certain design or style. I think there would be a need for a block limit. Another mission type could be Assassinate where you have to destroy one large complicated drone. Also a block limit would be needed. Raids could be a planet mission where you have to mine a certain amount of ore from a very heavily defended planet

  8. When you look at a human couple and subconsciously wonder if their immunity genes match up ok your turn!!

  9. -- Mark children with the right immunities to a mate at birth. This way parents do not have more or less children than required. -- You only need 4 immunity genes. 5 is good, 6 can sometimes be a hassle. -- don't have more than two main breeding pairs. Give them a maximum of three kits each (not counting twins) unless a immunity isn't being passed down properly. -- wait until creatures are a bit older before they have children. -- In certain biomes under particular bad luck, immunities might be spread through a tribe with no matches. Pick sickness over a too high population. -- No rogue children. For story purposes, non-required wanderers or other lovebirds only have one child two days before their death. If one child is born for every two deaths, tribe size can be gently decreased. Most importanly, try a whims of fate challenge with a maximum of 10 and a minimum of 2 creatures. Strategies learned in that are the best teachers, if you want to try the playstyle. Personally, anything over 15 nichelings gets a bit tedious long term. So I aim for 10 if possible.

  10. Thanks for the report, we've looked at this issue and it will be fixed in the next update

  11. Not everything we had in the demo makes still sense in the gameplay we now have in the Early Access version (Junkyards e.g.) We have to see which feature make still sense abd are beneficial to the gameplay We'll soon post a roadmap on what we want to work on in the future

  12. Honestly, you could make dirt itself a fourth resource not taken back to the Nimbatus between missions, and collect it in dirt tanks using the drill. Then, factories could run off of the dirt you currently have on board!

  13. I like the idea, thanks for putting a link to my suggestion The only thing I would change though, I think that no heat resistance and sun sensitivity are not the same thing. A nicheling can still get sun exposure on frost lands for example. What I propose is instead of reminding heat resistance, they get a new stat that makes them more sun sensitive. This means that albinos would have some sort of debuff when it is not raining and they aren’t under shade or in the water. Alternatively, sunny days can vary in amount of sun exposure. This would be harder to implement I imagine because weather with different amounts of clouds would be at play.

  14. the missions are only as hard as you make them. depending on your creativity, you could come up with a great design to fit any situation. yes, the barrel missions pop up more often than i'd like, and down the road perhaps there could be more variety in missions, but i wouldn't say that any of them are hard

  15. I would have water regulate temperature to a norm unique to the planet; it might all be pretty hot, or all be pretty cold. And remember, it may not be water. Maybe it's liquid nitrogen, or methane; maybe you need heaters to navigate it. I would have weapons act as normal, but plasma/cryo weapons would be less effective, because of the normalization of temperature.

  16. So, I stumbled on a problem recently. I had a large drone that decoupled from the core and a factory, which flew off to hide. Thus I could rebuild my drone, if destroyed. My drone was big enough that I used a decoupler chain to distance it from the core. In addition, it would deploy sub-drones that would carry ore containers to the hopper, drop into them, and once they touch down in the hopper, they would self-destruct. Every time it did this, it was cutting off my main drone. Finally, Entity helped me figure out why. The decoupler that I had used to connect the body of the drone to the core fell into the hopper, and during the subdrone's self-destruct, it destroyed the parent block to ALL my drone body's blocks. It just fell dead, a puppet with its strings cut. So I request that the cascade of de-activation of drone parts, after the destruction of a part with children, does not cascade beyond a factory or beyond a decoupler. Even if they're still coupled, those parts may still be fully functional.

  17. That buoy drone is an awesome idea. Also your signal splitter should work if the things are based the right way.

  18. Why are the outputs named so counter-intuitively? Clearly the craft is tilted right...why does it activate "Tilted Left" then?
    1 point
  19. Yeah thats the main problem. As soon as one drone uses heaters to set fire to the opponent, all drones would need coolers to defend themselves. We have drone vs. drone combat arenas planned. I think we can experiment with allowing heaters then. But sumo should be without offensive parts.

  20. And here, we see the Severed Drill Snek Head, in it's natural habitat. With three stages of speed and a very bumpy ride.

  21. Also, why are the sensor outputs' font colors not matching the sensor areas?

  22. I agree that Niche is a little overpriced for what it delivers (a lot of games over $20 would break my budget,) but it's called Niche: a Genetics Survival Game and not Niche: a Spore-Knockoff just with Cuter Graphics and Nutrition Survival Game for a preeetty good reason...

  23. Here's my entry, it tracks where the opponent is using the sensors all around it aims at them then pushes them out of the arena, it also has a small drone that starts in front of it that is used to push away anything that is too small to actually be the opponent.

  26. No 3847, would've had much more if half of the time playing them wasn't spent in the snow biomes,, (The most food I've had in any of my tribes [that wasn't from the console] was roughly 7000, on a wolf pack tribe back in the snow update, because I just camped on a grassland island filled with berry bushes) They also have 1053 nesting material and 24 creatures (Most they've ever had was 44 members, back when I actually let wanderers into the tribe,,)

  29. This would make a nice change. Mabey even a water planet, where you’ll need specialised propelors for your drone?

  30. The idea is more that logic would work as it does now. The processor wouldn't have inputs and outputs, it would just be a box you can put logic parts in to keep your drone uncluttered. Part count for Sumo should also be unaffected, it should count the logic parts in a processor. I can see a 'Logic League' though, where a certain amount logic parts aren't counted toward the total - for example, say you get 20 logic blocks for free.
    1 point
  31. Actually, it'd SIGNIFICANTLY spice up sumo for the advanced builders. Being able to program complex behaviour can make for super interesting strategies. Could always make a second sumo league where the advanced logic parts are allowed.

  32. There have been a number of suggestions for a 'computer' or 'processor' block, which would contain a number of logic blocks in a second grid or table that you could open up. It would work as it is currently, except that the logic blocks would all operate from within a single part on your drone. (Keep that part safe!)

  34. The naked ram rat is like a naked mole rat with ram horns, it overtakes mole holes and builds its home around them. A pregnant queen has a chance of spawning on the port tiles of any island with moles, she is the size of a dodomingo, and looks like a naked mole rat queen, with a long body and golden ram horns. She will move every time a nicheling moves and has very bad senses, making her an easy meal, ans she gives 15 food, so its very useful. After she finds the mole burrow, she will get rid of the mole and enter it, staying underground and changing the appearance of the burrow. During the night, she will have babies, that will make their own burrows in a radius of 6 tiles from the queen's and overtake other mole burrows in the area. Males have red horns and females have blue horns, they give 5 food and they are both shorter than the queen. They take one day to grow and will start digging the day after, and there can be 6 burrows in the radius aside from the queen's. The males behave like moles, they stay in their burrows after they dig them, but they will alert any other ram rat in a 2 tile radius if they notice you. They will sometimes go out and behave like bunnies, but they will deal 2 damage if you can not kill them in one blow. Females are easier to hunt, but if the population around the queen is too big or the queen dies, they will leave and search for a mole burrow or a hole that a nicheling dug up and turn into a queen, establishing a new colony. The queen will come out every 3 days, so you can try to hunt her. They can become your most valuable food source, but they could also be a problem if they are too close to your berries or nuts, so you can control the population and farm them, making sure their burrows are in good places, or you could get rid of them, if you kill the queen and all females and queens they will be unable to brred and eventually go extinct on the island.

  35. honestly the servah has op parts and does op things, it makes the bearyena parts look like dirt, maybe you could nerf them, like make them do less damage because with high speed, you need to lose weight to prevent yourself from being slowed down, and that means offensive weaponry like claws and teeth are usually much weaker or smaller on faster creatures, for example, compare leopards and cheetahs, and eagles and falcons honestly it looks like the Servah, judging by its parts would kill everything honestly(except maybe pythadillo lizards because of ambushes), but being super recessive doesn't just stop something from being op(ie armored body, megaloceros horns and saber teeth)
