  2. Okay, one more. The clan is settling in on the new island nicely. Littlestar II dies peacefully, and Lightsand a day after. Conejaw is crowned leader. She offers Mildrain a position as deputy, and he declines. Therefore, the two of them search the wild for a fitting deputy, much like Mildrain's mother did all those moons ago. Thank Starclan, Mildrain finds a young apprentice one rainy day. Her name is Cryleg. Seemingly an eternal teenager, Cryleg had a touch of mischief in her eye and a spring in her step. As she grows into an adult, Cryleg is interested in romance- specifically one with Mildrain, much to his confusion. Conestar hears of this from Cryleg, and encourages Mildrain to court with her, since they could expand the clan that way. She says that medicine cats don't necessarily need to not have a family, and gave him permission if he was so inclined to be attracted to her. Reluctantly, he decides that such a union would be good for the clan and he agrees. Before her death, Conestar makes Cryleg deputy, and Cryleg convinces Mildrain to have a kit with her as she is renamed Crystar. Their kit is named Sleekbuck, and becomes a nosy, optimistic overachiever. Upon patrolling the border one day, Crystar finds a young apprentice-sized she-cat- one that reminds her of herself at that age. Being moved by seeing such a young apprentice in such a similar situation, she takes her in and raises her alongside Sleekbuck. She is named Gravelsnout. Gravelsnout and Sleekbuck become like brother and sister: Crystar makes Gravelsnout deputy, and Mildrain dies of old age. Sleekbuck is more upset over not being deputy than the death of his own father, which Crystar points out is a clear sign that he isn't ready to be leader anyways. Sleekbuck cares too much about Gravelsnout to take it out on her, however, and prefers to just sulk a little ways away from his mother. He is approached by Dandelion, an opportunistic rogue female interested in joining a clan. He allows her into the clan, and they seem to be getting close. Could Sleekbuck have found a mate? Find out in... Cedarclan!

  3. Today in Cedarclan: Littleshell is now a young warrior, and with a personality too. She has many conflicting ideas of what she wants in life, but she has plenty of time to decide, right? Anyways, the clan has moved to a new island. Cedarstar is getting older, and, he has another kit with Aspenperch (though she refuses to admit she's taken quite the liking to Cedarstar...) They have a son by the name of Pebbleleaf. Pebbleleaf has a strong desire to be unique and a leader. Anyways, Cedarstar dies, and Aspenperch becomes leader. She declares Littleshell her deputy, much to the disappointment and envy of Pebbleleaf. It isn't long until Littleshell becomes leader, for Aspenperch was old as well. Littlestar is happy to declare Pebbleleaf her deputy, but reminds him that the clan priority right now was to recruit outsiders so they could have offspring and carry on clan legacy. Pebbleleaf is on patrol one day when he encounters Yellowfoot. Yellowfoot, upon discovering that their clan is near empty and that it is led by a female, is quite interested in joining the clan. Putting his best paw forward, Yellowfoot attempts to charm Littlestar. Littlestar isn't impressed by his display, and something in her intuition (aka both of them having the G immunity gene) is telling her not to trust him. She declines his advances. Yellowfoot is angry at missing his chance of being the mate of a clan leader, but Pebbleleaf is clearly stronger than he and is more than willing to protect the clan's current status, so he can't lash out or try to become leader. Here's the three of them: Littlestar dies, and now Pebblestar is forced to make Yellowfoot deputy to follow the warrior code, as much as he dislikes him. On patrol one day, Pebblestar finds a young she-cat. Her name is Lakeprickle. Though sassy and a bit of a trickster, she has honor, and takes quite the liking to Pebblestar. Pebblestar and Lakeprickle become mates and have a kit. After a try or two, they have Littlewatcher, named for her likeness to Pebblestar's late sister. Upon Yellowfoot's death, Pebblestar declares Lakeprickle deputy. All seems well, and the clan seems to be settling in on the island. But with predators prowling all around, you can never be too sure.

  4. I'm logging my current playthrough with stories! The extra rules I'm playing under are being updated as I go -- some things I didn't even think of until a little later, so please bear with me and if anything gets confusing, let me know. Most Recent Update: Posted rules Contents: Rules Here are the rules I'm following, in case anyone's interested: Alphas - There is one alpha pair at all times. The children of the alpha pair are betas. They tend to stick pretty close to the nest during their rule. After three nests, the alpha pair appoints a successor pair and steps down to the omega rank. Betas - Betas aren't mated, and may have no children. This rank is made up of the children of alphas, as well as any wanderers the clan finds. Alphas are randomly picked from betas with compatible immunity, regardless of family status. Omegas - The omegas are a mixed group. They are made up retired alphas, children of rogues, and the children of other omegas. Retired alphas are allowed one nest for every two alpha nests. Omegas don't pair up unless they're picked as alphas. Names - All children have the default names until their are adults, when they go through a ceremony and receive their true names. Priorities when Appointing Alphas: Compatible betas. Compatible beta-omega pairs. Incompatible betas. Incompatible beta-omega pairs. Retired alphas. Compatible omegas. Incompatible omegas. The goal in the inheritance rules is to see how long I can preserve a given alpha lineage. I may have to modify these rules based on in-game populations and whatnot. Right now it's working well, but I'm only just on the second island in story mode, before the Tiny Green. Next Up: The first chapter. I'll also edit this post with rules regarding deaths.

  5. Animal Combo: Red Junglefowl + Rock Ptarmigan The Red Rock Ptarmiken is a large bird that spawns in the mountain and jungle biomes, it is about the size of a normal-bodied nicheling, they are not very rare, and often stay close together, they come in two genders male and female Movement: In the Jungle, Red Rock Ptarmiken often wanders the forest floor by walking, and only really flies when escaping a predator or chasing down prey, it also flies into the forest canopy to roost at night, it also easily hides in the normally impassible jungle foliage In the Mountains, it waddles through the barren rock and snow, mostly flying rather than walking however, and sometimes staying still and gaining +1 camo and +2 stealth to just annoy you and make it hard for predators to detect, they will also walk on the snow, not through it, making them hard to even chase after a blizzard Habitat: RRPs live in islands with mountains or jungles Hunting: Males are ferocious and will not back down during a fight, especially if a female or chick is attacked, if they detect a nicheling or other predator attack a chick or come to close, they will make an intimidating cry, fly and attack, then flee, inflicting bleed while making a loud cry that reduces the targets stealth to 0, they are also bulkier and more defensive than females but due to their ferocity, they will not try to hide from you, and if they attack a large group of nichelings, they are not very difficult to kill, they also cannot move as fast as females and are not as hard to detect Males drop 20 food when killed Females are not as ferocious and do not usually attack unless attacked themselves, when a nicheling is detected, they lie down, increasing their stealth by 2 and camo by 1(does not stack with the staying still), and if they get too close, they will retreat, often to the top of a tree or across a river, but when defending chicks, they cry loudly and attack the predator, hoping that its mate comes and fights the threat, then them and their chicks flee, they can also detect you more easily due to their low combat stats they are easy to overwhelm, and can technically be killed before it calls its mate Lifespan: They live for 35 days. Diet: Red Rock Ptarmikens eat small vertebrates(like rabbils and stagmoles), insects, snails, roots, fruit and seeds Predators: Nichelings, Bearyena, Pythadillo lizard, Arctic ramfoxes, Apes, Bluebirds(can't be carried away while in grass/trees) Abilities: Male 1 swimming 4 speed 5 flight 1 cracking 2 digging 2 attack 2 eyesight 1 smelling 3 hearing intimidating cry(equal to strong voice) Unnerving cry(negates adjacent creatures stealth and lowers defense by 2) Crow(attracts females) Female 2 swimming 5 speed 6 flight 1 cracking 2 digging 4 eyesight 2 smelling 3 hearing Call for help (calls in male RRPs)

  6. This suggestion will be in a series of suggestions called "Random Suggestions". Well, as long as I remember to do them. So, since I am an original human being, I'm going to make a suggestion about a new animal: the Fodger! "But wait," you say, slightly recoiling away from my suggestion. "What exactly is a Fodger?" Well, a Fodger is very simple: it's a combination between a Red fox and an American Badger. (If you want, devs, you could also make it a European Badger. Also, do you capitalize animal names? I dunno.) I'd imagine it would have the speed of a fox and the strength of a badger. And some cold resistance. Where They Appear: Long Winter Frost Lands Summer Mountains First Snow Grass Adventure (Maybe?) Stats: +2 speed +3 attack strength +2 resistance to cold +1 vision (badgers have bad vision) After some research, I learned foxes and badgers have outstanding night vision and smelling and hearing. +4 smelling +3 hearing Other Facts: When killed, they drop 10 food points. They live for 20 days with no damage. They will actively hunt rabbils and steal berries. They'll also steal healing plants. Like Walrus deer, Fodgers are neutral until provoked. Anything else I need to add?

  7. 1. I'll change that. I just reasoned since badgers have terrible vision and foxes have pretty good vision, it would be 0 vision. 2. It's just my art style. They do have two hind legs, I just drew it so you couldn't see the other. Ugh! I hate it when people think animals I draw only have one hind leg! It's one of my trigger words.

  8. I love family echo, though often I find it difficult to use with Niche as either I have to much incest for the programming to handle and or at one point my family trees get so extensive and weird that you don't know what is going on anymore ^^

  9. I decided to just make a new file to play this challenge on, and it's really fun so far! Here's my list for the challenge: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D7SWQ3L9FvRh1vWJwflaydAGLRjPyiEUkj8h4CpvskY/edit?usp=sharing This challenge is really fun to use with this website called Family Echo. It's intended for people to use to make their family tree, but it's fun to use with games, too! Here's my DuskClan family tree: http://www.familyecho.com/?p=ERBQV&c=8g9nkkb647&f=635598599599839584 You can use Family Echo to not only record how your creatures are related (in a more extended way than the in-game tree), but also record their aspirations, mentors, mates, and more! (Not sponsored by Family Echo lol)

  10. Might as well do more- I have time! Pebblestar has died, which leaves Lakeprickle, now Lakestar, a long time to be a leader with Littlewatcher, who is barely an apprentice. Despite the warrior code, Lakestar can't think that making an apprentice her deputy would be fitting, so she searches for a loner who is willing to take up the job. She searches with no success, and can't help but declare Littlewatcher her deputy upon her adulthood. But watch out; this makes Littlewatcher a bit cocky... On patrol, Littlewatcher finds a huge, strong male warrior named Lightsand. Lightsand has a strong sense of right and wrong and firmly believes that he is a fitting warrior to be a leader. This causes him to resent Littlewatcher slightly because she is next in line, much to her disappointment. Instead of mating with her, he has a kit with Lakestar. Though her loyalty lies with Pebblestar, her late mate, she sees no reason why she cannot forward the clan genetically, especially with such a strong, healthy warrior. They have Wildstorm. Here are father and son: Lakestar dies and Littlewatcher becomes the new clan leader, AKA Littlestar II (which sounds a little pretentious). She declares Lightsand deputy. As he grows, Wildstorm feels like his name doesn't fit him. In fact, he feels like Starclan is calling him to be a medicine cat! He goes to talk to Littlestar about this, and she encourages him and tries to help him any way she can to achieve his dreams. Lightsand isn't impressed by this and gets angry at his son for not being a warrior like his father, but Wildstorm is resolute, and with Starclan behind Littlestar II, he can't do much to protest. Wildstorm is renamed Mildrain. On patrol, he encounters Conejaw, an ambitious, strong she-cat. Attracted to her strong nature, Lightsand tries to woo her to no avail. Littlestar II is approached by Mildrain, and he tells her that he feels like Starclan has ordered the clan to migrate. The clan moves to a new island. Noticably larger than the last, it gives the clan both a feeling of rapture and anxiety in their chest as they look upon it.

  11. Whenever I have double-ups, I usually just make it like the warrior REALLY wants to do that/be like that, but I'd say if you have doubled aspirations and don't want them then it's fine to just roll again 😄

  12. oh, thank you! i can send you the list of words i'm using, if you want to add them. i went through the wiki and added all prefixes and suffixes (though, they are not organized into such). i have almost 400 terms. owo (also, i'm about to continue the story, so be prepared for an update y'all)

  14. I had already quite some stories with this challenge. It can get a little bit hectic with appointing all the aspirations at the right time so I changed it to one aspiration at birth and two when they become warrior. I am also planning on configuring some of the aspirations, maybe add some here and there. I can post them here if anybody is interested. The story I had was pretty intense. I invited a wanderer called Rere which then got the aspiration to basically leave the clan and live as a wanderer again. I thought 'man that sucks' and started thinking about how I would pull that of story wise and then stuff happened. Another wanderer showed up and the generators said my clan fights her. Rere witnesses that, freaks out and leaves (which leaves Berrystrike the one who invited and cared for her heartbroken). Rere then starts to steal food, which is not tolerated and is being attacked by the clan. She flees into the ocean, Thornhiss follows her (he has the aspiration to kill a cat), kills her in the ocean and returns, telling the others Rere drowned and that he tried to save her, being a well respected member of the clan (he also wants to be leader) they believe him and later he is actually made deputy by Berrystar. Later the wanderer that was attacked shows up again and this time Berrystrike is Berrystar, invites her and takes her as his mate (his aspirations are master fighter, wants to win a fight and wants to win a fight which I interpreted as 'doesn't take no for an answer'). So Meko didn't really have much to say in the whole mate situation which wasn't to bad though as one of her aspirations was to find a mate for life. They had one son Blackkit, later named Blackberry who became medicine cat but broke the rules pretty dramaticly in having a mate (I had to do that because I had awful luck with the immunity genes and Blackberry was the only one with immunity D and the only one that could make a healthy pairing and I didn't want my clan to be all sick). The cool thing is when I got another medicine cat, I wondered if she was going to be a rule breaker, I was planning not to but she got the aspiration to find a mate, which ties in really nicely with the story, that she learned it that way from her mentor Blackberry. As you can see I am having a great time with the challenge

  16. I'm unsure as to wether someone has posted this yet, but the idea struck me and i just had to share. I love Warriorcats, so I thought I'd make a proper challenge based off of it. I based it off of the Sims 3 Warriors challenge, and the rest I filled up on my own. I will be using the Random Number Generator on RANDOM.ORG, and my two generators for this challenge: my Warrior Character Gen, and my WC Challenge Gene Gen. If you want to change any of the rules to fit yourself, fill free!!! I'll be doing runs of this myself, so if you want to get updates, ask, and I'll make a thread. If you have any questions, please ask! A big thank you to @Jojo for helping me modify aspirations and random rolls!Rules:1. Trust in the random generators. They are your friend. Even if you don't like what it says, follow it. What happens happens.2. Optional, but I advise you keep a place where you write little profiles for each of your nichelings, like at the beginning of every book. More on that below! It helps you keep track of your clan members, and it's a lot more satisfying to look back on after a few generations!3. Try to follow the warrior code! Punish rule-breakers or use it to develop your story.4. You can have multiple clans at once, but be careful- it can be hard to keep track of!5. Have fun!How to start:Choose your desired starter island. I usually like to go with story mode and leave it up to fate, but it's whatever you like. If you choose the story mode beginning, Adam will be the first leader of your clan, but you can rename him, of course. If you choose your own island, feel free to decide which of the two will be leader. As for names, you can name cats however you like, as long as it is in line with the warrior code! How clan ranks happen:Leader - is appointed when former leader dies. If you want, use the console to extend the leader's life nine times each time they are close to death. this simulates a leader's 'nine lives'.Deputy - appointed when old deputy dies or retiresWarrior - when a nicheling is full grownApprentice - made when a nicheling is adolescentQueen - a female nicheling with a baby or who is pregnantKit - a baby nichelingMedicine cat - optional ; these cats must be standing next to a healing plant in order for an injured nicheling to eat from it. these cats also can purr to heal other cats, making purr snouts ideal medicine cats.Patrols:You don't have to do these, but try to have a few nichelings near the border of the tall grass every day in order to clear grass or to look for rogues.Rolls:WHEN YOU ENCOUNTER A ROGUE: [use a random generator from 1-4]1 ; Nothing happens/your choice2 : Your clan fights the rogue.3 : Your clan invites the rogue to join them. 4 : A member of your clan mates with the rogue. WHEN WOUNDED BY A PREDATOR: 1. easy wound (warrior can be easily healed and continue on with his duties) 2. medium wound (needs one day of rest( literally not allowed to do anything but guard kits and hang around) 3. grave wound (early retirement) 4. dies of injuries (banish Nicheling/ drown them/ get rid of them somehow) SICKLY NICHELING 1. lives 2. lives but needs to rest often 3. lives close to the medicine cats, can't move far 4. dies I apologize if anything seems unclear, and if it does, please ask me! I hope you guys enjoy.

  17. Hey guys ! People seemed pretty interested in my Warriorcats Challenge, so I thought I'd do one here as an example and give folks updates as the clan progresses. I'm planning for this is to be a pretty simple run-through, but at the same time enjoyable to read about. Since I have trouble making decisions (and have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder fhskadjfh), I will allow most decisions (such as gene-ing, warrior ambitions, naming warriors) to be made by my various random generators, but much of the story will be still written by me! I also must admit that I am not a strategic player and prefer to leave things to chance, no matter the consequence. Even so, I'll let you guys be my Starclan and help me make decisions! Please feel free to comment or give feedback/suggestions as to what you want the clan to do next! Without further ado, let's begin. I randomly selected the clan name from a list of name ideas, and I got Cedarclan. I will be starting the game through story mode. I made Adam's name Cedarstar. Cedarstar aims to be a social butterfly, using his charm and wit to convince others to join his clan. He plans to have multiple mates and train many noble apprentices, not to mention rope in some outsiders into his clan. After some struggling to the next island, Cedarstar came across a beautiful female by the name of Eve- er, Aspenperch. Aspenperch is a hot-blooded warrior quick to start a fight. She craves adventure and part of her wants to be a rogue. Even so, she was charmed by Cedarstar and joined him. Cedarstar declared Aspenperch his deputy. Here's our couple in all of their glory. Finally, after some courting, they both decide that the best way to start off their new clan is with a kit. Since you usually don't find kits just lying around in the middle of nowhere, they had their own, and her name was Littleshell (because I can't keep track of apprentice and kit names.) As happy of a moment this was, Cedarstar couldn't help but worry. Littleshell was healthy, but how would she survive the harsh world of the clans? Find out next time in... Cedarclan!

  18. So, we got a family tree and a day-counter, but we don't have a timeline?? Uh, why not? Programming, Goggles-kun... That'd be a ton of money, Goggles-kun... I'm thinking there'd be a button you can click to pull up a timeline of your tribe. If the timeline gets too long, there'd be a separate page for the continued part. Simple enough! "But wait; what exactly would go on the timeline, Goggles-kun?" Shut it Francis. Oh, wait. That's a wonderful idea. Here is a list of what would go on that timeline... The names of your first creatures (They go at the start of the timeline, along with...) The island you first started on When you migrate to a new island (Maybe not the name of the island? And it would say "You migrated to a new island on day [number]") Creatures you added to the line (Maybe there could be an option on the family tree where you can add a creature to a timeline, and it would appear as "[thiscreature] was born on day [number]"?) This is what I'm thinking it would look like: For the "Add to Timeline"... I'm thinking once you click the "Add to Timeline" button, it automatically turns to "Remove From Timeline"? Anyways, that's all, and stay tuned.

  19. Imagine a planet so polluted, so tainted by humanity’s carelessness, so ravaged and torn that we stopped trying to save a long time ago, a planet filled with trash and smog, where the ecosystem itself evolved to exist off the trash, imagine a scrapworld. Gateways open from across the galaxy dumping their trash in the millions of tons. Colossal machines built to compact and dispose of waste roam across the surface. The harsh buzz of an alarm sounds, and floating debris for miles around, are pulled towards their final destination as giant magnets pull them in. The the toxic materials disposed here leak and seep out of their containers, creating a noxious miasma that seeps across the surface of the planet. Malfunctioning machines haunt the surface, acting randomly and sparaticly. Strange scrap covered creatures rummage through it all, searching for waste to adorn their shells with. The inner workings of the planet tick in a clockwork inferno. Using geothermal reactions to incinerate the waste. The smoke of the machines rise up creating lovely cover for the scum of the galaxy. Pirates and scavengers rummage the surface for unwanted valuables. Long man-made tunnels stretch down into the planet, ended by large trash compactors. Such is the tragic fate of many planets. In normal words this means: Orbital debris giant magnets that suck you down if your not careful A smog that sometimes rolls through and obscures you vision giant trash compactors that can crush you rust big enemies with malfunctioning turrets on their backs malfuntioning turrets and transmitters pepper the surface rare portals open up that drop cosmetic scrap Giant WALL-Es roam across the surface (not sure what they do) pirates with magnet ships roam the planet(there like the training enemies) giant incinerators ship reckages rare easteregg where a scrapworld can be called earth.

  20. Build a drone that flattens the terrain, so that anything above 0% altitude gets destroyed and anything below 0% altitude gets filled in. Once the world has been completely flattened, the drone flies away and self-destructs, leaving room for whatever crazy-high-tech thing that you might want to build on a perfectly round planet.

  21. I decided to start a new file and challenge myself. No mutation menu allowed. I usually like to get nimble fingers on my nichelings. I wasn't really paying attention to body type, but most of my nichelings ended up having lean body. I traveled to the next island and it was first snow... OTL These genes are not very helpful on this map I hear. I've never actually played through a snow level. Yes I know I could have avoided the snow level by traveling to a different island, but I'm bad at telling all the different ports apart. Even though I logged like over 100 hours in this game I'm still p bad at it. shush. xP

  22. If that sort of planet lets us see (and fight) some drones rather than small enemies, then I am all for it. The Dantesque fights it would cause! I might try and craft walkers as a result. Of course I will fail, but it will be fun.

  23. Even with that added information, an AI ship self-repairing with random scrap found in the universe isn't that far-fetched, either. A living thing made out of it seems a bit out of step with lore; most alien life we've seen has been wildlife rather than anything of the intellect to use technology. But still, we're talking about a video game; I think Nimbatus could carry it, if it tried to.
    1 point
  24. One thing... What would the mission objective be? other than that, I really like it. Is the lore based off of anything or did you just come up with it. Because if you just came up with it, then I am impressed.
    1 point
  25. There should be some criteria other than just completing the mission in order to return to nimbatus. However, it would be really annoying if somebody completed the mission, and pressed escape to exit the planet while they were underground and then had to do the mission all over again.

  26. Thanks, I didn't even know about the tags! Im not sure why you guys were saying it would need 4 logic circuits tho... I did it with just 2 IF gates. Since you went into such detail tho I dont mind explaining what I did... tho I still wish the logic pieces were smaller... or maybe just a "brain box" that we can add that lets us do multiple of the current logic gates. I try to keep my ships pretty small and compact so far and they dont help things. Anyway using my earlier example, I'll rename the parts to the actual keys I planned to use. I just used abcd as an example to keep it simple. D>[] [] []<AQ>[] () []<EA>[] [] []<D Basically I turn left and right with A and D, forward and back with W and S, and strafe with Q and E. So after enabling Tags [it wasn't for some reason, maybe it was off by default or I turned it off without know what it was] and using two if gates, I made the left thrusters have the tag SR and the right ones have the tag SL. One IF gate I set the input to E with an output of the SR tag, and the other if gate I set to Q with a SL tag. Pretty simple really, I've never took lessons or anything but I have a knack for coding I guess so once I knew I could use tags and which gate to look for it didn't take any time. Still havent got any large shields or extra building parts tho, just gun upgrades, and theyre pretty powerful. Still, it would be nice if the secondary option was available regardless tho. Like if the game let you decide to use a tag or a key for either of the two options, so I'll leave my suggestion there since I think it'd be a nice feature instead of a brainbox which would just be a part you could put logic things in. Why do the logic things have to be so big anyway? Well, thanks again for pointing me in the right direction guys

  28. I have two clans by now, one by the lake, the other in a hunting ground. While medicine cats need to receive a sign fron starclan by the lake, it is a passed down rank in the other. From the first apprentice to the last, they proudly fellow the line of the cats before them to settle on this island. Female leaders regularly have children in Lakeclan, while this wouldn't just be frowned upon in the latter, but result in banishment. They both think their traditions are better than the other's, but they're actually equally bigoted. Needless rules do make for story telling :P. imagine the lack of drama without either in the books...
    1 point
  29. It was kind of funny, though. His mentor thought him unfit and was waiting for a clear sign from starclan, sabotaging him at every turn, just to be stuck with one hated, very excited Moonpaw, oblivious to it all.
    1 point
  30. @Jojo I rarely give warriors 3 aspirations. Even then, Starclan wants to mess with people, introducing the medicine cat that wants to be medicine cat that wants to be medicine cat that wants to be medicine cat. Though it is easier to reinterpret their goals sometimes. Checking for couples first, then making someone outside of one a medicine cat. It bends the rules somewhat, but might be better than medicine cats breaking the code too often. A healer might reject an apprentice, as they received no sign from starclan, story-wise, or the cat might just feel very close to their ancestors. Maybe even receive visions of the future. That's what I am going with, at least. Can't have 3-4 healers at all times due to an evil, evil generator.

  31. @Jojo thank you! I will be implementing these as well. Do you mind if i add them to the introductory post? I will give you credit!! :3

  32. If someone comes under the impression that « moderators are everywhere », may they not worry! It is only one moderator incidentally having more to say than regular users. Hence the excellent decision to appoint them as moderator, because trying to keep pace with ferocious-cat Lurkily would prove difficult. Good luck, in any case. Unusual is good... well! Usually.
    1 point
  33. I agree with what @Lurkily wrote about tags. They permit, among other things, greater flexibility and an easier time remembering what goes where. As for your craft, there indeed exist logic gates that allow for mapping two keys for one component. As far as I can tell, your craft will require a bare minimum of four of those gates, and since I do not want to spoil the fun, I will only reword your request: Is it possible to make it so that thruster number 1 fires on pressing A, OR on pressing C? To which I answer: yes, it is possible. If you ever attended classes in logic, then you might want to write down each event ("thruster 1 fires"; "key A is pressed"; etc.) and see what each is equal to. If not, this will be your first self-taught lesson! Solution, in white (select to see): be A, B, C, D the keys being pressed to respectively strafe right, turn right, strafe left, turn left; be T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6 the thrusters in clockwise order starting from upper left. T2 (middle right) operates when strafing left. In terms of logic, T2 = C. In the game, you can simply set up T2 with C as input, because it should fire when C is pressed, no other condition. T1 (upper right) operates when strafing left, or when turning left. If you press both C and D at once, thruster should still be operated; if you press any key other than C or D, thruster should remain still. In terms of logic, T1 = C + D = C OR D. In the game, it translates into an OR gate with C and D as inputs, and T1 as output. Do the same for each thruster, and you're set. It should require four OR logic gates, and there exists no way to simplify it. As for turning while strafing, it is not really a problem. The craft turns a little slowly, and with four more gates (I do not think you can go below that number) you can disable the culprit while turning. It... does turn fast, though. Hope that helps!

  34. I'm starting to do this with my Warrior Cats tribe I already have. Here's what I've got so far (there's not many cats b/c they just traveled to a new island): Juniperwillow~ This cat wants to have litters with multiple different cats.~ This cat wants to Become the leader of their respective Clan. This could be good or bad- do you want them to have honorable intentions, or to be power hungry.~ This cat wants to kill another cat. Shadowrose~ This cat wants to Find a mate for life. How romantic.~ This cat wants to Be best friends with one other unrelated cat.~ This cat wants to Master the fighting, hunting and fishing skills. They may be a bit of an over-achiever, huh? Berrypelt~This cat wants to Become the medicine cat of their respective Clan. Perhaps they want to care for others or to have connections with Starclan.~This cat wants to Kill a cat.~This cat wants to Be best friends with one other unrelated cat. Duckstar~This cat wants to Kill a cat.~This cat wants to be enemies with multiple cats.~ This cat wants to Leave their Clan to become a loner. Nightfeather~ This cat wants to Find a mate for life. How romantic.~This cat wants to have many close friends.~This cat wants to Become an elder. Bluemist~This cat wants to Convince an outsider to join your Clan.~This cat wants to Master the fishing skill. It's a hard task to master!~ This cat wants to Become the leader of their respective Clan. This could be good or bad- do you want them to have honorable intentions, or to be power hungry? Dustrabbit~ This cat wants to Be mates with multiple different cats. Alright..?~This cat wants to Have a litter of kittens. A happy family!~This cat wants to Become the mate of an important cat. Gold digger much? Snowtail~This cat wants to Find a mate for life. How romantic.~ This cat wants to Become the medicine cat of their respective Clan. Perhaps they want to care for others or to have connections with starclan.~This cat wants to Master the hunting skill. They seem like providers, perhaps? Shadebranch~This cat wants to Be mates with multiple different cats. Alright..?~This cat wants to Convince multiple outsiders to join their Clan.~This cat wants to have litters with multiple different cats. Nutlily~ This cat wants to Be mates with multiple different cats. Alright..?~This cat wants to Master the fighting, hunting and fishing skills. They may be a bit of an over-achiever, huh?~ This cat wants to See their kits have kits. sNow I think I'm just going to do 2 aspirations per a cat, but it is fun to do all of this!

  35. Be glad you're not as bad as me. I always start on a hard island, do terribly, and then give up and use the console. Only 0.1% of the time I do well. I still do terribly when I use the console.

  36. Should you want to know, this would be your starting female, Rera. Less than stellar, but not as bad as a first glance may have you suspect. She is compatible with the poison-fanged male. The one with the purr snout could be your first medicine cat, as they aren't compatible. They're Spitfire, Ottertail and and Vinepelt to me

  39. I'm actually in favor of paid part unlocks. The drone construction can be information overload when a new player jumps in; limiting them to basic parts with some cheap initial unlocks can ease them into more complex builds, rather than dumping every capability on them at once. Some of it, like some sets of logic parts, can be bought in groupings, and it doesn't have to be expensive. I also think that we'll eventually have to limit the extent of drones so that you can't just put a thousand guns and engines on the field your first game in. I feel like that, too, is something you should earn. Remember, a good game balances expanding challenge with expanding skill and capability. Eventually, the game should have a growing challenge - and the player will need growing capabilities to match that. We can't just give them everything at once.

  41. hey ! my name's ashton! i've been playing niche for over a year now, but i decided to get more active in the community because i've grown to have a deep love for the game. i have over 200 hours on record played 😅 i really love the series warriorcats, which got me to play the game in the first place. i'm even planning a warriorcats challenge...

  42. Finally a simple enough timeline to maybe implement!

  43. I thought of this a couple days ago and I thought it was worth it to make a post. The idea is that flamethrowers could use fuel instead of energy. Have you ever seen a flamethrower that uses electricity? I'm sure this flamethrower uses gas not energy.

  44. I like the idea of this as a gamerule, but not as a default setting.

  45. I actually really like the idea of having some weapons use different resources to operate. Mabey guns should use ammo boxes and missiles use missile clamps, so on? This also leads onto having weapons that use resources to run (That won't consume recourses straight from the recourse tab, but from on-board recourse tanks, thereby directly requiring the user to already have found the resources prior to using the weapon.) Either way, seems like a good idea!

  46. It would be useful to have a clipboard to put copies of multiple parts that you can use for later projects. That way you can quickly access different structures and systems you’ve created in the past and drag them straight into your new build saving a bunch of time.

  47. This would basically be a primary source of energy for your weapons; they'd use this block first. Once depleted, it would be inactive until fully charged. (Just like reloading the clip of a gun.) Weapons would be debuffed if they use normal energy sources; less damage, less range, less of every variable stat; say deplete the total after upgrades of each stat by a straight 40% across the board. Then, you have the benefits of using a SPECIFIC magazine. You can have a magazine for fire ammo and cryo ammo and bio ammo. They would basically be an energy block with a specific keypress to activate and deactivate them, and an output for when they're ready for use, or shut down after depletion to recharge. I suggest an on/off control because a new player can add them to a drone, and they'll just WORK, starting out ON. A more advanced player can use damage types and logic to activate damage types at need, and deactivate them when they deplete or when the need has passed. Logic can help autonomous drones only try to use ammo types when they have awareness that a magazine is active.

  48. Some people at the steamforums suggested the same, I'll add the following to the discussion: Add a Toggle which decides what is 100%. Settings: Radius, Container, Nimbatus, Drone Brain Add a relative Altimeter, which measures not the distance from the center of the planet, but a raycast to the surface as a guide.

  49. Haha. Yeah, that's why it's a challenge! The opposing tribe would be way smaller than Adams, though, for it to work.
