  1. You could also call it pacifist challenge if you decide to not have armor body. In this challenge, you are not allowed to do actions that involve strength(except destroying plants or rocks). To be honest, in this game, predators are not really predators, as in all honesty, the first thing that goes trough most player's mind the instant a predator shows up is: KILL IT! KILL IT WITH FIRE! (Well, not actually with fire) (Sorry for copying you Goggles) So this challenge gives a fresh twist to the playstile. Also its a lot more dramatic and exiting for story telling when a predator forces you to flee from your base, and you are forced to seek shelter somewhere else. If you choose to get armor, the true beastmaster challenge begins, as you have to "tame" creatures by finding a use for them, for example, following ramfoxes as they hunt bunnies to get the meat. If a nicheling is chosen to become a beastmaster, it gains more prestige the more beasts he/she tames. The one with the most tames becomes the great elder and tribe leader, symbolized by his/her favorite beast.

  2. Open up your art program, and draw something! But here’s the catch: you’re only allowed to use one brush. (Or whatever some people call it nowadays.) The eraser tool doesn’t count, nor does the type of brush you use if you want to sign it. I tried it myself, and this was the result: I only used the brush “Turpentine”. Your turn!

  4. A new wanderer was found: Lemon! With Lemon and Fish, I'm starting a new line of creatures: Blind, big-nosed, spiky-bodied scouts. (When I can, I'll give them Big Ears, too) These creatures, when paired with a normal-sighted one, will be able to smell and hear food and predators! Welcome little Lara to the Scouting line! Woah, I didn't realize Bluebirds were that big in comparison to Nichelings until now... (also, I have no idea whose bones those are) TO BE CONTINUED after I eat lunch

  5. Here's one first test of bringing two competing drones into one scene and let them race autonomously. Everything you see in this video is most likely going to change - so consider this only as a sneak peak into that we're currently working on drones vs. drones as well No details or comments on how that mode will work can be given at this point, I'm sorry

  7. Woah woah woah, excuse me? Where did you come from?? Look! We unlocked Ram Horns and Claw while on the third island! Those totally aren't the bones of the murdered Rota on the flower port Goodbye, island! Goodbye, Reanais! Hello, new island! Woah there, calm down with those 'ana's! Cleopatra and her daughter Lali went across a river, killed a Bearyena, tamed it's cub, then went back across so Cleopatra could have her final child. As the baby was born the Friendly Bearyena crossed the river to visit little Duyusiimi. Sii my joke? 😛 Tribe so far! And we're just over 200 food! That meat by Cleopatra is totally not the Friendly Bearyena's and I totally didn't kill him because I want even more food

  10. My idea is that a nicheling with a low scentless score and 2+ strength/ claw could be able to “mark” trees by clawing at them. If they were adjacent to the tree ( but not on it) then they would have another icon appear, a scratch symbol. A marked tree would cause all spaces around the tree for a certain distance to not spawn: 1. Rogue males or wanderers with lower strength than the creature that marked it; 2. Lowers the chances of dodomingos 3. Bearyena if the marker has stronger strength than the bearyena, but not if they have bearyena genes. The distance could be customised in the settings, as well as the time it lasted (i’m Thinking five days) , the option to remove it entirely and the amount of trees that can be marked at one time. I think that this has great potential as both a (warrior cats!) role playing device and a gameplay function. -if a rabbil wanders into the marked area, it will retreat if possible. This would apply for other animals too, except for bluebirds, and possibly apes. -There could be options as to which creatures it repels in the settings. Let let me know what you think of this idea!

  13. This was an image prompt. The caption was, and the image title is, "Hello, Sister." This is one of those where the world just exploded into being. I started with an approach to one scene and the way I wanted to twist it, and from there an entire world, rich with magic and politics and relationships and power structures just vomited into being. I spent a lot of time polishing it, and it's still one of my favorites out of all my writing. If I ever wanted to expand on any of my works, i think I'd start here. "Hello, Sister." By DeviantArt user Sakimichan. Inseparable I frowned over the maps, with my head bowed under the weight of a kingdom. The Mirsken Hain were still pressing my southern borders, hard enough to cost me soldiers and morale, but not hard enough to convince The Nine to take up arms. They worried too much about setting a precedent of bending to the whims of humans. The First thought we could maintain an iron border forever. In the meantime, my people were paying the price of complacency. None of the other eight kingdoms were bound to send soldiers to my border if we were not at war, and the crisis was not yet dire enough for me to plead for aid. But eventually, action would be required. The Hain had allies protecting almost every border but the one shared with my kingdom, and could devote the full force of their military to a campaign. I knew that they wanted the southern mountainsides and the diamonds that were being mined there. They would take almost two hundred square miles of territory to hold the mountains and two hundred more to secure them. But to reveal their plans I would have to explain how I learned them, and that would put my sister at risk. I closed my eyes and bit my lip as tears threatened. Thoughts of my twin sister always threatened my composure. She was out there alone. She would be thinking I looked down on her, while she faced whatever dangers she faced. I picked the stone paperweights up from each corner of the map, rolling it up tightly, struggling for calm as I slid the map into its niche. There would be servants about, and men and women of the court. Strength, Ilyssa. Strength. Then I stepped out into the hallway to return to my apartments. As I walked, I made my mind a mirror, my face reflecting the smiles and greetings of those I passed. Inwardly, my mind was in turmoil. I hated what my sister did, and sometimes I hated her. But she was my sister, and she was never truly out of danger. Slowly, I became aware that I had not seen anybody for a while. These halls should not be empty. I had only begun to worry about assassins when I heard her voice, and my body stiffened in startled recognition. “Hello, sister.” A hand stroked through my hair, and I started walking again to evade her touch. My nerves were a jangled mess. Every time, every time she caught me unaware. Every time I vowed that I would be more alert, but every time she got to me unnoticed. It made me angry, made me ashamed. What if it had been someone else, truly here to kill me? I bore the weight of a kingdom. I was supposed to be stronger, more aware. I turned to my door, fumbling with the key, trembling with conflicting emotions. “Just find me in my rooms like a normal person. By the grace, sneaking up on me is like a compulsion with you. To think I was worried about you! And how did you empty this hall, anyway? No, I don’t care, just tell me you didn’t kill anybody in the castle.” She was cold and smooth as ice, as always. I could never shake her as she could shake me. Was I weaker than her, or did she hide her turmoil better? Either way, it was a skill I would do well to develop. “You don’t want this in your room. It’ll stink the place up.” That is when I caught the scent–copper, and the muted stench of decay. I turned and examined her for the first time. Her eyes shone with concentrated magic, stolen from the souls of the dead. The hem of her cloak was hung with small rune crystals–those were new. Their placement did not look protective; more likely, they were to help her kill. In her right hand was a bag that was stained red and brown. “Oh by grace…Asyllia, what did you do? In our home? Among our people?” She scoffed, and upended the bag, letting the severed head fall out. I felt nausea bloom as the smell got worse and struggled to force it back, coughing on the bile that rose. I had to look away, earning me a fierce scowl. “You never had any faith in me, sister, but this is my home too. These are also my people. I’m monstrous, but I’m not a monster . . . except to our enemies.” She grabbed the grotesque package by the hair and lifted it into my face. I began to look away, but then recognition kindled in my mind. “Is that . . . that’s King Tyvalt! You killed the king of Mirsken Hain!?” I looked up and down the hallway, horrified that someone would see me standing here talking to an assassin about a king’s severed head. My sister just laughed at my worries. I knew she was making a point about her confidence in clearing the halls, but I still worried someone would hear. She put the head back into the bag, then neatly into a box with latches and straps. I fumed at how she ignored all my concerns as meaningless and infuriated that she was right. “Just what am I supposed to do with this . . . this!?” She buckled the latches, the scent of death fading quickly, and stood up with the case in hand. “You can do what you like with this. Discard it, or give it to the Nine as evidence that we are the blade with the determination to protect them all; we hold the contested borders, we are already their shield. You know what I would do. You can’t remain the lowest of them; you’re the only one of them there for the right reasons.” I looked at her as if seeing her for the first time. Her face was a mask, but she was my twin sister. Her face was also my face, and I could read her concern and worry as quickly as I could turn the page of a book. “Asillya? Are you trying to take care of me?” She stared at me, face impassive. The pause was uncharacteristic of her – she always seemed to know the right thing to say or do. “Ilyssa, you’re the eldest. You have the most to bear. All civilized folk live in a cage, but yours is the cruelest. Of course, I take care of you.” Sorrow and heat filled me, in equal measure. I felt sadness twist my features, and I slapped her. Though my sister was the killer, it was expected that I would see an assassin or two in my career, and my slap was no girly thing. I curled my fingers back and struck with the corner of my palm. The blow was supported by the bones of my arm, the rotation of my hips, all the way to my feet, anchoring the impact. I did not catch her off guard; she just accepted the blow from her sister. As she staggered, I swept forward and clutched her into a hug. “Asillya! You blackened yourself for this!? Did you even think about what I wanted? I wanted you to live well! Marry who you liked! Study your archery, pursue the hunt, I wanted you to enjoy all the unladylike things that I couldn’t!” I pounded my small fists on her chest, torn between hitting her and hugging her. It took me a moment to realize that the dampness of her cloak was from my tears. Her arms came around me and pulled me to her, and I could not help but hug her back tightly. “I wouldn’t abandon you so selfishly. You’re a good leader; you didn’t need help with that. I took on the things a leader could never do. We’re two sides of a coin, sister. Opposites, inseparable.” Finally, I stepped back, patting at the moisture on my cheeks with a handkerchief. “I’m sorry I lost faith in you. I still hate what choose to do, though. You were supposed to really live, in place of the girl who couldn’t.” She smiled, back to her confident self once more, and held the case out to me. “I’ll leave the ‘real’ living to little Tessamy, and help my sister bear her burdens in my own way.” I sighed, looking at the case. It was a clean and polished white cube with rounded corners, the straps arranged so it could be comfortably carried over a shoulder. A layer of wax along the seam sealed it neatly, and the scent had completely dissipated now. From the outside, it might hold bottles of wine or a piece of sculpture. I regarded it and wondered what it would do to my reputation to wave a severed head around. Alliances would get tricky. I would lose my ‘ladylike appeal’, and political considerations might be the only thing I married for. It would be painful to never have that affection, but those of my standing were slaves to our crown. I had stopped expecting the right to choose a mate for love when I was five. I next considered how it could improve my standing among the Nine. My sister was right. There were forty-five votes held by the Nine, and I held only one. I persuaded and argued, but except in the very closest calls, I did not have the power to decide anything. I looked at the box in my hand, then I looked up into my sister’s eyes. “Perhaps it’s time they learn that I’m not on my throne because I’m pretty.”

  18. oH mY gOsH I'm definitely joining this, I'll post a screenshot soon Look at my beautiful fish child, Dragon Tear ❤️ EDIT: So I decided to add her backstory in here since I just want people to be informed more about this mysterious Dragon Tear Dragon Tear was born on a rainy stormy night, being the first of her 5 siblings to not be sick. Her mother named her Dragon Tear based off the pain she endured while watching her children die before her but the strength she saw in this small delicate strand of hope for the tribe. As Dragon Tear grew, all of her sickly siblings had passed just after she earned her final gem and her parents passed soon after. Dragon Tear isolated herself far from the tribe because she wanted to grieve alone. While she was out, something happened to the rest of her tribe. The Apes attacked. One big eyed ape and one big nosed ape came along and began to terrorize the tribe. Hearing about this from a winged creature in her tribe, she raced back and ultimately sacrificed herself to the apes so the newborn babies in the tribe could thrive. She finally realized that the one thing she needed was company and the feeling of her tribe around her.

  19. This is my Update Journal for the Niche Tournament/Competition. I'm gonna start it by updating as I play, but if Kepa-Shanyang tells me to do it differently, I will. I'm never this far away from the port! :( Hey, Eve! Go away! (Only two creatures were needed to take the Bearyena out. This is already a strong tribe!) Dear Bark (son of Adam) fell in love with a wanderer and had a baby with her. And Juniper fell in love with another wanderer. TO BE CONTINUED

  21. I think in the example, the bottom left LED should light up. (All buttons and LED's are set to 'X') It would allow us to activate an 'if' gate beyond a splitter to control a split-off drone part, effectively allowing us to segregate transmitted commands so that only those we need are transmitted. Furthermore, it just makes sense. There's no reason for the wireless transmitter to act as a splitter - that's what we have splitters for. Signals transmitted from the core by the wireless part should be sent to only child parts. Signals generated by those child parts should be able to propagate to the wireless part's parents.
    1 point
  22. Hi! I suggest a logic splitter that: -only allows signals to flow in one direction. This would allow: -Bulk production and command of identical parts that can react to the environment without confusing one another. -Significantly reduced time spent programming individual parts. Thanks! Love the game!

  24. So, I played a lot, but kinda forgot to take screenshots. So here's screenshots of all the creatures in the tribe: Here is Roroduk and his son, Keenah. One day, when Fish was young, she found a tree stump. She decided to call on it day and night. She eventually formed some rules for the tree stump empire: One creature at any time is in charge of the tree stump. Their only mate can only be a wanderer that was attracted to their calls. If the leader gets of the stump, any Nicheling may get on top of it and become the new leader, making the previous one live life like a regular creature. Thus, one day, when Fish decided to get off her stump in order to kill a Bunnil, Anaanaana got onto the stump and became leader. Fish was forced to flee to the outskirts, where she met Lemon. Back tot he tree stump, Anaanaana's son found Duyusiimi and became mates with her, having a single child named Roroduk. When Roroduk grew up, it was discovered that his grandmother was one of the two creatures with Home Island Immunity, and that he was her only chance to pass it on. Thus, they had three children right before she died, but none got the special immunity of Adam. Roroduk released his oldest two children, but kept his youngest, Keenah. When Keenah grows up, he is to be the mate of the only creature with Home Island Immunity in the tribe, Joli. (Shown later) And here is Ninki, daughter of Lena, with her two brothers Kirah and Kutanu. And here is Sunshine and her two daughters Stardust and Lilydust. Stardust is pregnant with an unwanted child of a Rouge Male. Story: Sunshine was orphaned at a very young age, as her parents had died when she was born, but Adar, mate of Lena, found her and took her in. Later, when both Adar and Lena had passed away, she found two males, Karin and Sunray. She fell in love with Karin, but Sunray fell deeply in love with her, even though she didn't care for him very much. Eventually, she decided to pretend to be the mate of Sunray, just so he would leave her alone, but secretly, she was the mate of Karin. Eventually she had a baby named Stardust, and Sunray, of course, thought that it was his baby. However, Karin didn't know it was his, and got mad and ran away. Sunshine ran after him, telling Sunray that she was just trying to convince Karin to come back so they could be friends again. However, what really happened was that Sunshine ran after Karin, and when she caught up, she told him about how she was just pretending to be Sunray's mate,a nd that Stardust was really his child. Once they made up, Sunshine became pregnant with Karin's child once again, but unfortunately, he passed away quite soon. When she came back, she told Sunray that it was his child, and when she gave birth, she named her new daughter Lilydust. After a day or two, Sunray realized that his children looked nothing like him, and realized that they were not his children. When he asked Sunshine, she told him the whole story. Sunray forced her into having a child with him (for real), so she agreed. Unfortunately, Sunray passed away right after, so he never got to see his child. Sunshine is still pregnant with Sunray's child. Two of Lemon and Fish's children, Lemonpuff (previously named Lara) and Lemon Pudding are getting ready to have their second child, while their son Jorin helps clear away the grass with his father's directions on where to move. (Yellow Gems = Descendant of Lemon, Pink Gem(s) = Scout Guide (guides the Blind Scouts) Two sons of Lemon and Fish, Lemonade and Snow Lemon, hang out with Jali. Jali is the daughter of the last creature with Home Island Immunity, and her father was a Rogue Male. Jali is destined to be the mate of Keenah when he is old enough. Current tribe:

  27. Don't have this issue. My current tribe is on whale island and I think I had two rogues (might have just been one) but they didn't really bother me much. Apart from one guy who bread with my female even though she had a 6 in strength and hit him twice (the second one was his end but she still had his baby). So I think the rogue male situation is fine at the moment

  28. Ahh, that makes more sense lol (me can't read XD )

  29. I've had insane amounts in grass mingles (3 at all times, unless they had spawned in a space that made them easy to kill/ward off) And in the hardest cold biomes (2). On whale island, I usually only found one active, in rare cases two. I tend to let them live unless they get too close or are convient to hunt down. But I keep most females pregnant from day one of adulthood, the ones for breeding are in the center, protected. I can't remember the last rogue induced pregnancy. But yeah, it was kind of game breaking for a long time. It's certainly isn't a smooth strategy, but there are way too many of them to check every turn and lose food over chasing. Too much effort to stop unless their spawn rates get halfed or at least reduced.

  35. I propose an idea, quite a simple one at that, a 1x2 block that generates a half-circle sheild. This half circle wouldn’t repel projectiles that well, but physical objects beware. The sheild would act as a hard surface like a wall or floor, with enough thrusters you could smash into the force of any building/enemy and insta kill them/it. But it would come at the cost of energy, the harder you hit, the more it costs, the bigger the raiders of the sheild the more it costs, the more objects hit the higher the cost. This would be greate against rammers (like hammerheads or whatever’s added in the future) and great for rammers. I think it would be an interesting addition to the game
    1 point
  36. I really like this idea, we still need more variety in the form of shields, and I get extremely annoyed by the current shields. I like to get up close and personal with the enemies, but at that point the shield is useless because the bugs just get inside the shield! I'd rather have a shield to stop the bugs from clogging up my drone than projectile protection, most of my drones are already pretty armored.

  42. You have my meaning correct. Signals generated by the child of a wireless part should propogate to its parents. Signals transmitted BY the wireless part should not. Feature request is here, lend your voice and a vote if you like: I have learned a lesson, no worries. No more straight lines in my testing. I submitted this to discussion hoping someone would find a design flaw, without realizing how well it might be hidden. I didn't intend to submit a bug report without independent confirmation, and would have submitted the drone export for the bug report if I hadn't discovered my error first.
