I feel like rain should be most common in spring, and it would be warm, summer should be so hot it causes forest fires, fall should be hot, and winter should be... Not so hot. But well, thats probably because I live in a tropical country where there are only two seasons: Summer and HELL.3 points

You could come live in Austria, where it's rainy hell on some spots of the map all around the year.3 points

Altitude would be a strategic decision; it has advantages and disadvantages you have to weigh. I'm not sure why thrusters wouldn't work in water; "equal and opposite reaction" is what it is, in space or in water. At the moment though, I keep feeling like props are one of those "Let's make the challenging parts not challenging" things. As for all drones working everywhere, I suspect that when progression mechanics are implemented, and we can't built massive 400-part beasts that can factory-manufacture six different purpose-built drones on level one, we'll see more players with more than one drone in their roster. I don't think a lack of diverse parts are the problem; I think no progression mechanics are the problem.2 points

Haha! Google translate can do it’s stuff! hello bia! I hope this translates back well. Hope you have a good time here. I recommend you typing up your post, and then pasting it into google translate. As far as I can tell, it works fairly well. Haha!

Today I made some emojis for our Nimbatus Discord and thought, hey why not make an emoji for each person on the team while I'm at it Doing this was so much fun xDD @Markus @Roger @ArnoJ @Philo @inmiu @Micha got 2! And this is our sound designer, Claudio1 point

So, we have seasons on snow mountains. Why shouldn't we have other islands with seasons? I present to you... The Seasons Island! Also, people who have had this idea before me, sorry for stealing it! I didn't find a topic about this. So this island has seasons that effect the ammount of food and the colour of grass, etc... Summer: Plants are green Grass regrows fast It's warm. Creatures get hot easily Rain is normal Prey is common Medium ammount of berries Nuts are raw so they're rare unless you have a creature in a tree Fall: Plants turn yellow, orange and red Grass regrows normal speed It's -1 cold Rains a lot Not as much prey A lot of berries A lot of nuts Winter: Plants lose their leaves and get snow on them Grass regrows really slow Weather is cold It snows every few days Prey is uncommon and rabbils are hard to spot Berries regrow slow Some nuts Spring: Plats are light green. Ground is covered with flowers Grass regrows fast Weather is a bit warm but creatures don't get hot easily Rain is normal Prey is very common and baby bearyenas are very common Some berries Almost no nuts1 point

If you could only have 3 new drone parts added to the game, and those were the only new drone parts that got added, then what would they be? Mine would be 1.) a proximity sensor, 2.) directional/proximity sensor detectable beacons, and 3.) a cable/winch part.1 point

I think you can have active purr snout on a starter. Just like active big ears, but that happened to me only once. But no, no derp snouts.1 point

I think the Altimeter should be reworked into a proximity sensor; but I agree that a rangefinder type item is important. I'd like every part to be trackable, but trackers work too, and the devs have been talking trackers, so, trackers. Beyond that, I don't need parts so much; more sensor criteria, and local logic/wireless blocks not splitting signals ranks higher on my to-do list. But piston parts. Even just a spring with an input-adjustable length would do.1 point

I can see atmosphere, really; you could make the argument than a very good propeller would be better in atmosphere than an inefficient thruster. I just don't feel like they meet a need. It obviates a challenge. But we get this request a lot. I think we need to consider lowering the maximum range for air resistance, and when environmental effects are applied, (on the roadmap,) we need to angle for wind as a challenge on high air resistance planets, not resistance to motion. What I'm getting from these propeller suggestions is that high air resistance isn't fun. If that's the case, eliminating the challenge it poses probably isn't the best way to address it; I question if we need it at all. High air resistance planets should have unique conditions, but wind and weather are coming. As the Devs who comment on Nimbatus most, I would like to tag @Micha and @Markus to ask what their thoughts on the subject are. Also, let me know if tagging you guys for an opinion is annoying.1 point

The issue with that option is that threre is a “correct”choice, and not a strategic one, and you would probably end up have two identical drones except one uses thrusters and one uses propellers. There should be something that makes high air resistance more tolerable, but it shouldn’t be something where each planet has a “correct” choice. There should be some strategy involved in what type of thruster/propeller to use.1 point

My idea is that a nicheling with a low scentless score and 2+ strength/ claw could be able to “mark” trees by clawing at them. If they were adjacent to the tree ( but not on it) then they would have another icon appear, a scratch symbol. A marked tree would cause all spaces around the tree for a certain distance to not spawn: 1. Rogue males or wanderers with lower strength than the creature that marked it; 2. Lowers the chances of dodomingos 3. Bearyena if the marker has stronger strength than the bearyena, but not if they have bearyena genes. The distance could be customised in the settings, as well as the time it lasted (i’m Thinking five days) , the option to remove it entirely and the amount of trees that can be marked at one time. I think that this has great potential as both a (warrior cats!) role playing device and a gameplay function. -if a rabbil wanders into the marked area, it will retreat if possible. This would apply for other animals too, except for bluebirds, and possibly apes. -There could be options as to which creatures it repels in the settings. Let let me know what you think of this idea!1 point

The thieving mother bearyena keeps trying to run away. An easy kill for much needed food. Besides that, we got Nut. A new hope for the tribe. Another mister rogue with horns. Maybe I'll give him a shot. (Don't mind Adan, she is, as the tribe's scholar, never going to give birth) Maybe that baby will fight for them. Or maybe I should kill it. 5 food means surviving another day, after all.1 point

Gen. 2, day 13+ Spot + Weasel, 8 Creatures, 90 food. Mutations: Yellow fur, Mossbrown fur, Cracker jaw, Scorpion tail I think I'll have to move. The other side of the island looks nice. No getting away unscathed, I see. Spot, of all victims? I better find a nest, fast. Jana and the new guy will kill it. And the meat was stolen again. Great.1 point
-
Whelp, he almost killed one of them. Kuku is going to snatch the meat, if possible. And mista rogue is back. Let's try again. Ah. Our newest pretty baby mutated all the good stuff. The rogue is going to mate with Jasper, but she will be on food duty. No one survives food duty. Kuku will lead these somewhere else. Rest in peace, little guy. 🤒1 point
-
The only good trait Jasper and Kuku managed to mutate was one normal fertility gene. Oh mista rogue male ~ Our female has all the good stuff in her slots. Possible horns and either medium or spiky body are pretty neat. White fur, though... She didn't get either horn gene at least I am not the spiky guy. If only you were allowed to be breed in. Welcome, bearyena distraction.1 point

First of all, we will need an impassive historian. You may say now that I can't just choose a personality, with all those random generators. And you would be correct. Introducing: severe childhood trauma. Poor Lasi will not survive the journey. So while she dies in peace surrounded by love and family, we steal her youngest from her bones. Not before letting him lay there for a day or two, of course. He'll need to remember the abandonment. Fast foward some 60+ days in the cold, surrounded by 200 days old, grumpy ladies and letting two of those only friends die.... I took pity on a wanderer and brought her to the next island. Adan needs to despise the lucky and the easy life.1 point

I kinda forgot to take screenshots (again) so here's some pictures of the tribe and the mini-island they have already moved on from. Fish-shaped mini-island! (It's getting a little fishy) The tribe is trying to move on to the next mini-island... ...though part of the tribe has already made it across. Oh, hi! My three sickly creatures. (Not including Takunu) The short-snout and the derp-snout are twins. When Owl and the derp-snout grow up, I'll have them have children, because they have different immunities. Also, I didn't notice until now that we were past day 100. LOL. I also decied to discontinue the Blind Scout thing. It's just becoming too much of a hassle. TO BE CONTINUED1 point

It's sometimes annoying when I try to find my friendly bearyena, but it just keeps running away. It would be good if nichelings with bearyena snout could call for friendly bearyenas. It would also be an useful way to call help if nicheling is attacked by a bearyena or some other predator.1 point

Personally, I'd like to see an arctic fox hybrid. ^ ^ But I can't really think of genes they could add. Ah well, it's a nice thought.1 point

I feel like rain should be the most common in the summer and not fall. I guess it depends on where you're from, but I'm used to having tons and tons of thunderstorms in the summer, while it might drizzle a bit in the fall with the very rare chance of snow towards late fall. (I live in the US)1 point
