  1. So I'm just gonna be doing an anti-Awesome thread where everybody names annoying things, as opposed to awesome things. I'll start! When a bunch of friends start shipping me and another friend. Also I'm Midna and Funtime is Golden

  2. I disagree but have an idea What if there was a ‘drag’ action, and another nicheling could use up a turn to move a nicheling into a nest, out from under a coconut tree, away from a predator etc

  3. Me not getting why it is bothersome if you are shipped with a friend... MATH IS ANNOYING

  6. I love how this discussion turned from questions about Niche to us complaining about Warrior Cats covers in different languages/nations lol Well, since I basically started it, I'ma complain about the reprinted English covers. OK-- what is happening to Firestar's face?? I know it's supposed to be water (at least I hope,) but it makes Firestar's head look a lil' squished. Also, can we just talk about that in the "New Prophecy" arc, all the books are just zoomed in on random cats' faces? The cover on Midnight is my favorite, because it looks like Brambleclaw is surprised by the fact he is on the cover of Midnight. And, while this isn't directly about the cover, can we just talk about the "manga"? They're called manga, but as a manga enthusiast myself, I strongly object. Because one, it's not read right-to-left, like actual manga. And two, it wasn't made/drawn by actual Japanese mangaka also because the art style for some of them are bad lololololololol But that's just me!

  8. So I've been thinking about this for a while... how about a little bit more challenge than just the standard bearyena? Earthquakes: Basically, when you pass the turn, your screen would shake and you'd hear a rumbling noise to indicate an Earthquake happened. There would be a small chance that during the Earthquake, wherever it happened, creatures could fall in. Basically, the earthquakes would work like rivers, just without the water. Your creature could have a chance of surviving if they fell in, only taking damage. Some creatures, however, just die. These would eventually fill by the next couple of rains and become normal rivers. These are very rare because if they were common, the entire island would just be rivers! Tornadoes/hurricanes: When you pass a turn, you would see a wind funnel start to form. You have ample time to get your creatures away from the thing before it forms into a tornado/hurricane. The funnel stays there for three turns, not moving. There's a chance that it wont become a hurricane/tornado and it will just vanish. There's a bigger chance, however, that it will indeed turn into a tornado or a hurricane. Basically, if it were a hurricane, it would move 7 tiles per turn. If it were a tornado, then it would move 10 tiles per turn. If one of these storms catches up with your Nicheling then it will suck them up and throw them off somewhere, causing 5 days of damage. Other things, like bunnils, grass, and food that's laying around will be sucked up and destroyed into material and food that you can later collect when the storm has passed. The storms would usually last for about 3-5 turns. Tsunamis: These would be more common on islands that are a bit smaller or are seemingly far out in the ocean. For example, the archipelago, whale island, and possibly oasis. Basically, to know that a tsunami is happening, your screen will rumble like there was an earthquake, but you'd see no crack in the ground. Over the next 2 turns, the water level will drop by one level of tile surrounding the island/islands your creatures are on. Then, the skies will darken a bit the next turn to let your creatures know that it's time to move inland. That's when the water level is seen rapidly rising over three levels of tiles on the grass tiles of the island/islands your creatures are on. If your creatures are too close, they could get swept away farther into the sea or they could just stay where they are, depending on their swimming ability. Then you'd just take normal drowning damage from there. The water would drop a level of tiles each turn and eventually return to its original water level. That's it for now! Feel free to suggest anything or link another post similar to this one ^^

  14. I think a departure from that darker phase of my writing would be a good thing. So here is a story written in response to the prompt: "Write the story of Star Wars, only you are George R. R. Martin." I'm not deeply familiar with the expanded universe and concepts like Grey Jedi, but hopefully, I didn't delve into enough detail to misstep. Star Wars, by George R. R. Lucas (But not actually by George R. R. Lucas.) “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.” My mind fogged over. It was hard to think. Only one set of words came easily, struggled to escape, a concept that wanted to take root and grow. “These aren’t the droids we’re looking for.” And it was true. They couldn’t be. I knew something was wrong, but this one concept, this central idea took root in my understanding of the world, fit itself to the core of who I was like a puzzle piece. To remove it would be to leave a hole in my soul. “He can go about his business.” This pressure was tied to the first concept, already firmly rooted, and grew. I fought it, and I struggled. My blaster rose, slowly, sweat dripping into the inside of my helmet. The old man in front of me frowned and intensified his gaze. I could feel my mind being crushed by the growing roots of his influence. “They can . . . go about their business.” “Move along.” “Move . . . move . . . ” As I struggled, the blaster fell out of my hand, and I bent to pick it up. For a moment, I held it in my hands. It wasn’t the grip by which you held a weapon, I was just retrieving it from the ground, but I was aware of the direction it was pointing. He’d already won, of course. He had dismissed me from his attention. I didn’t have to break free, not really. Just pull the trigger. But the grip on my mind forbade it, forbade it so thoroughly that I forgot I even wanted to do it. I didn’t need to pull the trigger on a gun. It was just a lever. I needed to operate a lever, didn’t matter why, just operate the machinery. The blaster fired, leaping out of my hands with the recoil. The pressure strangling my mind was gone. The old man lay dead in his seat, and I cried out for help. “Stop them! The old man was Jedi!” The speeder’s repulsors started up, and I adjusted my grip on my blaster, firing through a repulsor on the side. They all shut down immediately to keep the vehicle from flipping over. The boy tried to make a run for it, and I shouldered my rifle, shooting him through the calf. He bled and cried, until a trooper knocked him out. We searched them, of course, and found no weapons. So the official report said. At home that night, I turned the lightsaber around in my hand, listening to the blade hum. I wasn’t proud of what I did; I had killed a Jedi and his protege. He had probably wanted the same thing I did. But I had known going in that serving light would require an occasional foray into darkness. It was just a part of what it meant to be Grey. I clicked the light saber off and watched the blade collapse. At least the death had served a purpose. I was getting a promotion, a transfer. I would be that much closer to Vader and the Emperor. And now, when I made my move to kill them, I would have a proper weapon for a wielder of the Force.

  15. https://www.warriorcats.com/books/ Read the books--including Super Editions-- in order of when they were published. It would also be good to not read the guides until you read the books published before them, because they may give spoilers. The short ones (they come in sets of three per book, but can be read individually as an ebook) don't contribute to the main storyline, but help fill in gaps (and WILL give spoilers), so make sure you read those in order too.

  16. This will be another continuation of this: Except it will be for only one tribe instead of tons. This tribe started out as a wanderer challenge which morphed into a tribe with a quest: Reach First Snow and survive there long enough to create a proper Reindeer Miss Niche! As I have with my other playthrough, I will post the old content onto here first, and then just keep going! Enjoy!

  18. After playing for many days, I have declared this challenge a success! The wanderers may end up taking on a new lifestyle now that the challenge's test run is over. Baby Bear now has a derp snouted son. ...And now a daughter. Looks like this one's the keeper. I love her coloring! Whoddat?? Awwww! Oh look. the bearyena we just killed has a BABY! What a cute child! (I can't remember if the yellow kid was the dad or not, but I think it was actually the brown guy) Who the heck are YOU!? And look at the next cute baby! Mother-daughter bonding. All grown up, with her mate and sickly son... AAAAA everyone is sick why I think she mated her brother....but oh who is this handsome fella? All alone and searching for love... We managed to find a big bodied derpy guy and now we welcome little Israana (Emerald) into the world! Here's Emerald meeting her boyfriend for the first time. Her father Nuta, her baby brother, and her mother's bones are all in the background. All of Emerald's descendants love living a loner's life. They toy with the wandering males, only to leave them and wander the island like rogue females. But Emerald is different. She wants a life where she can settle down and raise a family, and watch a tribe grow. But, Emerald is also no ordinary starter. Her genes aren't the best, and some may call her appearance ugly. Can her tribe be sustained when she has hardly anything to go off of?

  19. Here are the rules for the Wanderer Challenge: Basically you can only have ONE adult Nicheling in the tribe (With some rare exceptions and if you're desperate. Yeah I'm a rule breaker), preferably Female. The female is only allowed to breed with other wanderers WITHOUT inviting them into the tribe (again, exceptions because I hate strict rules. You can be strict tho to make it more exciting) You must pick a single female from the wanderer's children to become the next Heiress that you will be playing. Once the Heiress is fully grown, the mother must be released. All children who are not Heiresses must also be released ASAP. I allow mutation menus, but to make it even harder, you can have mutations be illegal. Also you can do it on any island, but I did mine on peaceful meadow because I didn't know how this challenge would work and wanted to make it simple as possible. So basically, try to survive playing a wanderer for as long as possible. Unfortunately I started it a bit too early to post it here from the start so I'll just show where I am now. Here's where I started pic-taking. This stinky and fluffy girl caught sickness from her mother and didn't live as long. But I still loaf (ha! LOAF! bread? get it?) her a lot. Her yellow brother was released once Stinky Yellow was grown up (I forget her actual name, unfortunately) Stinky Yellow meets her...uh IDK what relation he is to her honestly. (I don't think it's her dad. Her dad was a yellow poison fanged guy.) Stinky Yellow grew up and found a young wanderer with antlers and...frog legs apparently, since Siraana here (I'll call her Stinky Spots coz that's easier to remember) was born with the frog legs. Stinky Yellow's first 2 children were males, but she kept them long enough to fight off a mama bearyena. Unfortunately, Stinky Yellow died from the attack. Stinky Spots grew up and bred with her compatible-immunity brother and had Stinky Beige. Then she had a child with the friendly Bearyena, who I'll call Baby Bear. I don't know who should carry on the line now! Baby Bear has better strength and fertility (but still quite low), and both of them have normal hindlegs and 2 fertility in the mutation menu. But Stinky Beige is just sooo cute and fluffy....but I think I'll still go with Baby Bear. She has more potential I feel like. (also sorry I didn't take pics in this 20+ day time span; I was too distracted by all the mayhem.) Stinky Beige and her promising little half-sister, Baby Bear.

  20. Not as long as you guys would think, you just have to be really efficient by either having a small tribe which collects a lot or a big tribe in a big area like peaceful meadow. Swamp islands are also a great place to collect food (if you have stinky tail) because toxic berry bushes aren't affected by draughts.

  31. Baby Pongo looks a little concerned for this sad, dead crabbit. He must witness the trauma at a young age. A wandering female has been spotted in the grasses! She's sick and standing next to my creatures so I'm inviting her in so I can get her the heck outta there UHHHH....MAGIC THIS IS TRULY MaGiC howwwwwwww i love this sm His name will be Ghost Spirit visits her mother and new half-brother who looks shockingly like her. Another crabbit is here to welcome the birth of baby Beige. RIP, Mister Crabbit II. Again traumatizing another of our youth. The tribe still grows! I need to restrain myself better...but everyone is getting old! And the children are soooo cute! I mean, just look at them! Absolutely precious!! Rest in peace, Magic, my beautiful goddess of travel. Oh and welcome to the world, little Fritz! Remember our Acorn girl? I was getting concerned that she wouldn't find a mate but then this exceptionally healthy wanderer showed up. He's going to woo her now!

  32. After a short time skip, the tribe has split and expanded over the island in search of resources, considering their next move.( Not too interesting today) The descendants of the friendly bearyena led by Pussa(the spiky cat) have established their clan in the jawed penninsula And lord Kevin's children have returned. During this time, the part of the tribe on Kevin's haven met the many native inhabitants of the island, and also some newcomers. However, while they could gather food, they were starting to grow weak, and all capable fighters had followed the warrior clan to new lands. The warriors soon started gathering forces to explore more in depth, while also sparking romance. Dukta and his mate found each other in the grasses when they were young, however, the young girl had been chased and wounded by a bearyena named sharptooth. They were separated from the group along all other juvenile warriors, and they fled from sharptooth in search of the warrior clan's healing power. With AAAAARGH!!! dead, my little cousin wanted to name a nicheling Why did I let him? YES MY CHILD YOU SHALL RISE FROM THE SHADOWS AND LEAD ALL TO A GLORIOUS FUTURE!!! YOU SHALL MAKE US ALL PROUD IN THE NAME OF THE CLAN AND HAVE BEAUTIFUL BABAS!!! However, while the clan rejoices, a long forgotten threat, with sharp silver teeth, looms in the horizon... To be continued!!!

  33. Rise of Scourge is my favorite too aaaaaaaaaa I even have the paperback copy of it! The only thing that ticks me off about it is that compared to my other manga, it looks weird lol (It’s the one the farthest to the left, the rest are almanacs) it’s not thick enough to sustain me

  46. can I have district nine? Im just gonna enter two of my favourite gods, I would put in my god of everything but I have no screenshots so goldie's going in Mekoko the goddess of tragedy, her mother was killed by a bearynea when she was a child and she had to be raised by her father, a friendly bearynea. she grew up to be a strong warrior who was very family-oriented. and goldie, who was born an apt fisher, and was very romantic. he had children with the most beautiful female in the tribe, and he was regarded as the god of the seas for his fishing, which saved the tribe from starvation edit: I literally only just realized you said your hardrive broke, im so sorry to hear that.. I hope you can fix it soon!

  47. Maybe my True Beginnings Mode could be one? https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/2881-true-beginnings-mode/ It could start with two babies somehow hiding underground or smthin and then a huge meteor (like how dinosaurs went extinct) comes and wipes out all the other creatures, and then the babies come out alive. Then you take control of them and you have to repopulate the Niche world with just your two creatures. Or it could be just one baby who survives, but then they find another creature who somehow survived.
