  1. because i hate myself and wanted to suffer. A niche generator that decides every gene for you, dominant and recessive. according to my calculations, about 7.81 x 10^59 possible combos? have at you. https://perchance.org/nichelingspawner

  2. Here's how it goes. 1. Prides are ruled by one king or queen. The firstborn of this king or queen is the heir, who will take over when the king/queen dies. 2. Some lions may leave their birth pride at adulthood, but don't have to. Most lionesses stay in their birth pride. 3. Wanderer males are welcomed in the pride if there are plenty of females, but if no one is interested or there are already enough males, wanderers will usually be fought off by the resident males. 4. The current king and queen and their heir are marked alphas. Normal pride members are Betas, and wanderers into the pride are omegas until they settle down and have children of their own with a native pride member. 5. When a new heir takes over, other challengers of the same sex can fight them for their position. Survival is similar to my Warriors Challenge: If a lion or lioness is injured fighting a predator (or a wanderer/rogue), get out a random generator and set it from 1-. If you get 1 : easy wound. this pride member can continue with their normal duties unharmed for the most part. 2 : medium wound : needs a few days of rest. 3 : fatal wound ; delete the pride member/drown them/find a way to get rid of them bc they're dead If a lion or lioness gets sick: 1. Easy illness. Just rest some and they will be fine. 2. Hard illness. Doesn't kill them, but knocks them off their feet for quite a while 3. Fatal illness ; kills the pride member I'll be starting the playthrough here, so the first post will be up momentarily.

  8. Honestly, these bears really remind me of certain types of people at school. The Brown bear is that huge guy who loves to sit and smell the flowers, but he crushes you if you Touch them. And the green bear is that muscular guy that you use as a meat shield. But its also kind of like a panda badger, because he Just does Not care about anything, but everything fears it.

  12. @Jojo Can you possibly give me close up of what they look like in the family tree? I can't get the full details since their eyes are closed ^^ I'll be starting off with Sky's nicheling for now!

  13. Nice! That means we can get both bears at the same time! But what are their stats like? (please make the Brown one ridiculously strong) Also, would they fight each other if the green bear attacks a nicheling and the Brown bear sees it? That would be Awesome to watch! And, also, are they diurnal or nocturnal?

  14. Our pride starts with our very first king; the randomly generated, story-mode king Hamadi. He is sassy and much of a prankster, but when he has to make decisions to effect his pride, he is very careful and fearful of doing the wrong thing. Hamadi's wife is named Zahur. Zahur is excitable and sweet and has some quirks that make her stand out in a crowd. Hamadi and Zahur, after some courting, decide that it is time to have a family. The start of this family brings forth the kingdom's very first heir. This heir turns out to be the beautiful Neema. Neema has the same concern for her pride as her father, but is more relaxed. She prides herself in her bravery. The pride moves to new territory. To celebrate this, Zahur and Hamadi have another cub- Moyo. Moyo is rash and is quick to make a decision. However, he is pretty quiet and introverted, preferring to be left alone to do whatever he's planning. The king and queen die while Moyo is still young, so Neema takes her place as queen and raises Moyo for most of his youth. Therefore, they are pretty close. After a long time searching, Moyo and Neema find Kito, a young male without a mate. He is calm and serious. Since Neema is old, she quickly becomes his mate and has a cub with him. They have Princess Hasina. She is quiet and timid, and a bit insecure. Even when Neema dies and Hasina becomes queen, she retains her humble nature. While travelling her territory one day, Queen Hasina finds Maji. Maji is an orphaned and sickly adolescent lioness. She is jolly, though, and is adamant to survive. She eagerly accepts Hasina's offer to join her pride. Moyo dies of old age. Queen Hasina is shaken pretty badly by the loss. Maji, who has become her close friend, watches her in her grief and tries to help her talk through her feelings. "It seems you were rather close to him. I guess that's normal, though, for an uncle." "It was far more than that," Hasina reflects, flicking her tail. "You see, my mother, Neema, raised him when their parents died. Therefore, the two of them were very close. When my mother died when I was just a cub, Moyo swore to care for me in order tor return the favor. He and I were very close." "Oh." Maji shifts slightly, unsure of how to comfort her. "I promise you will get through, your majesty. I'm with you every step of the way."

  15. It bothers me that Walrus Deer so often live on their own when many deer live in herds to protect themselves. On harder mountain biomes, there could be herds of walrus deer roaming the mountainside, consisting of Males, Females and even Babies. Males could have strength and try to attack, while Babies are the weakest and have little defense, though they also give less food. I'm thinking WolfQuest style here. Ramfoxes can be seen hunting them too sometimes. I think in order for this to work, Walrus Deer overall should have less defense, so they aren't even more difficult to kill than they already are. What do yall think?

  17. i'm most excited for extending lifespans of my nichelings! longer life allows for so many new stories!

  18. That's exciting. What are you most excited about? What do you want to be added the most? Me? Like, new genes are cool and all... But what I really want are quality of life updates. Things like more specific notifications, telling you which gene you unlocked. Better explanations telling what genes do what. I was really confused with peacock tail and purr snout when I first started. The ability to tell which islands you've already visited. Children inheriting their gemstone colors, so you don't have to change them every time they grow up one stage.

  20. I have one cat, Alvin. My apartment is a bit small for lots of animals. He gets into EVERYTHING. I'm taking him to the vet later today because he ate part of a zip lock bag, and I have to make sure there isn't a blockage. Do you create? What? Stories, artwork, craftsmanship?

  26. I thought that he steals your children or ambushes two gemed nichelings... going for weak creatures and dragging them away, killing them when no one is near .... as in contrast to the friendly one.

  27. But still, While im I love the concept of these bears(we really needed more jungle fauna) I do think they need a redesign. I love them anyway and really appreciate the dev's work, so I dont care that much about their aspect, but... They just look too weirdly humanoid to fit in the wild. I would give The Brown Bear the arms of a balance Bear, and maybe make its legs less stubby and give it a hunched back. And the green Bear Just needs more bear like arms and legs. Maybe it could be on all fours instead of sitting. Sorry, just saying my opinion.

  31. Application Forum Username: BannerGirl411 District: 9 Tributes: Prince and Perdita Prince was the leader of my lost savefile. While slow of movement, he charms everyone he meets and has the ability to predict weather patterns. Pretty sure everyone has seen my Perdi by now. She is the leading lady for my current tribe. She is fast and very smart, with the ability to sneak attack any enemy who comes her way.

  32. So, supposedly, 2 bears are still missing kickstarter rewards. What do you guys think the'll be like? I'd love a water based one, or one that also goes for berries, cutting down bushes and the like.

  33. Hi all! This is the first time making a suggestion so here goes. Many animals feed on insects so why not nichelings? Potential food sources could be the bug swarms already in game, logs, and termite mounds. Logs would be found in grasslands and maybe jungles too. They would function like berry bushes, yielding a certain ammount of insect food and replenishing their supplies overnight. Termite mounds would be found in the savannah and can be cracked open, respawning two days after initially being destroyed. Like carnivorous plants, they can spawn as hostile or non-hostile. Non-hostile termite mounds can be cracked open and gathered from safely. When a nicheling gathers from or cracks open a hostile termite mound, they will be swarmed. The termite swarm must be licked off by another nicheling before the day ends or the nicheling will be bitten and take damage. I have designed an insectivore head inspired by anteaters and pangolins. I call it the Sticky Tongue! I imagine it would give 3+ insect collecting and 3+ smell. And perhaps the beak gene could give 2+ insect collecting.

  35. Every time I come back to an older story, I find things I would change, that dissatisfy me. But I guess that's the nature of skill itself; (Or perhaps the nature of art, or maybe talent. I don't know.) if you develop it, you'll never be fully satisfied with what's behind you. Just have to leave it behind, be satisfied that you set it free.

  36. Oh yeah, like a sandbox mode? I seen a lot of people asking for that too. With the ability to pick what 2 creatures u start with.

  37. All the random pictures of fancy nichelings people put on there to show off is what’s offensive...lol lol it’s just all the pictures have to be the same....that’s one of my OCD characteristics haha and also the pattern color pics still haven’t been updated...

  45. Perhaps the Sticky Tongue could also eat bug swarms? They might not be worth much food, as getting rid of them is reward enough.
