Hmm. Tough one. I'd love to have the ability to turn into a bird and fly, but then again, I hate being naked. Oh wait; I got it! The ability to travel the globe at will, even without any mode of transportation! And my drawback would be that I can't enter that country again after I visit it!2 points

that has happened to me on multiple occasions, I don't really mind that much about it, but this should probably be fixed for people who like to have big tribes and fill all the ports.2 points

I used to watch Stardew Valley by Jessimew. I then looked for her most popular video, found Niche, and thought it was cool. I would make up stories about nichelings I made before I even got the game. I watched all her series up to the start of Adam's Quest, and I kinda just got the hang of it once I started because I had watched so much. I understood how to play, but I wasn't good at it. In my first tribe there was a lot of starvation and sickness, and times where the tribe nearly went extinct. I remember that my main goal was to find a mountain, and when my creatures arrived, they all starved to death. the end2 points

I apologize for the delay! I'll most likely finish all of these this week since I finally have a break from all of my classes! Thank you for being patient with me ^^!2 points

Thanks! This one strikes a lot of balances that I like a lot. I love that they have so much depth, but still have pet names. On a random note, Benji was a nod to Benji mouse, from the Hitchhiker's guide. Murine, though I expect a niche fan is more likely than most to catch it, is for mice, variant of canine and feline.2 points

Let's have a Secret Santa, but with Niche Art! How it works: Everybody who wants to participate replies here with a Nicheling they'd like art of On the 22nd, this topic will automatically lock I will use a randomizer to pick who gets who I'll PM the participants to say who got who Everybody makes art of the Nicheling the person they are Secret Santa for submitted I make a topic for everybody to post their finished art gift on, but the topic will be locked until Christmas Day On Christmas Day, the new topic will be unlocked, and everybody posts their gifts! (if you're not done yet, it's okay, take your time! I'll make sure your person knows that their Secret Santa is making sure their gift is perfect ) Also, you can do it however you'd like; just the head, a full body, or whatever else there is! Digital, a drawing on paper, or something else! Now, submit those pictures! My Nicheling (yes, I'm joining in; I will know who my Secret Santa is, but I want to make somebody some art, soo ) is the obvious:1 point

So some suggestions regarding weapons, TNT, etc have been spurred by scrap drone parts littering the landscape, seeking a way to self-destruct subdrones or clean up the litter. I think it could be solved by any unparented debris decaying until it's destroyed. That will leave debris around long enough to still be a factor in decoupled material being an obstacle, and all the various ways you must deal with it. It will also clear it, though, after it's been laying around long enough to no longer be a worry. More than that, it will clear it part by part instead of all at once, as every single part with 500 HP reaches that limit at once.1 point

Cool creature! Did you draw that? Also, erm, bearyena hindlegs are always recessive to normal hindlegs...1 point

I also prefer showers. Mostly because I don't have access to one currently, as well as normally they are to small for me to be comfortable. Showers are also perfect for thinking Question: If you could have a super-power, but it would come with a severe drawback, what would your super-power and drawback be? (e.g. You are able to fly through the air, but only when you are naked. Disclaimer: This is not my dream super-power, just a spontaneous idea )1 point

I missed this, somehow. A simulation if decay is EXACTLY what this is supposed to be. The timescale is too short to be realistic, but degradation of lost parts is more or less the decay you mention. As for engineering, heaters seem to be a favored method, except in that it leaves a heater behind. That's what spurred the acid block suggestion from one other player. It all seems like an artifical way to deal with something that gameplay mechanics could just handle.1 point

The three goddesses of my tribes. Siko: A beautiful white cracker-jaw female with nimble fingers and a fishing tail. Siko is known as the goddess of collecting. She provides the roots and berry bushes found around tribe's islands. Any tribe whom she finds unworthy will be damned to an island with scarce resources. Siko is very gentle, and has made friends with rabbils and stagmoles in her reincarnated forms. Siko originated from the Kirikan tribe, where she was tragically killed from an attack set out by bearyenas. She does not hold a grudge against them, though. Siko loves bearyenas and enjoys watching them from afar. Meanako: Meanako is a melanistic female nicheling with very strong genetics. She has bearyena claws, poison fangs, spiky body, you name it. Meanako was given the title of goddess of warfare after she killed off all three of the apes from her jungle tribe, therefore saving everyone there. She sends out worthy mother bearyenas to strong tribes, so they can prove their strength. They will be awarded with a friendly bearyena cub who will fight to the death for them. Meanako has a burly personality and is not afraid to show it. Her orange eyes will stop anyone in their tracks. She originated from the Korukoru tribe, and she was killed by a meat-eating plant. Remela: Remela is a derp-snouted nicheling who was banished from the Norikana tribe for her weak genetics and distasteful appearance. She had to find a way to survive, as her deformed paws were unable to pick berries or dig up roots. A wild rabbil led her to another island, inhabited by the Foren tribe. Their leader, Vankir happily welcomed her in, seeing as she could not fend for herself. Everyone in the tribe tried to avoid her, but one nicheling was attached to her. A male named Vanvanduk (who also had a derp-snout and one deformed paw) became Remela's mate, and they had children together. They were the most beautiful babies the tribe had seen, and when Remela sadly met her end because of old age, she was named the goddess of beauty. I made these three up at school, and used the console to bring them to life!1 point

i don’t mind their unlimited moves- it only gets annoying when i’m trying to befriend one of the little boogers and they keep running away 😂1 point

From a lore standpoint, I think its a situation with The hormones. Maybe, a nicheling's gems have something to do with hormones. Once they are in a pack, even if its just Two, nichelings become much calmer since they have an avilable mate, and they can split resource gathering and exploring between each other, so as a result, do to the help from others, they become much lazier and sloth like in nature. However, wanderers have no partner, so they have to find food and mark territory all by themselves, while also running from predators and trying to secure a mate. With all this trouble, their body excretes extra hormones, accelerating their metabolism to extreme levels, Changing from being sloth like to shrew like in nature. They are much better at surviving by themselves, but this comes at the cost of a super rapid metabolism, so they eat every resource they can find in order to keep going.1 point

I sometimes get really annoyed by the fact that they have unlimited moves but I see why it would be there from a gameplay point of view. Much like Randomwanderer said1 point

Short snout doesn't appear as often among wanderers, but you start with it unlocked, and once it's in your gene pool it spreads like wildfire. I don't really think too much should change given the above reasons. Also in anatomy not every body part technically needs a function. Some are leftover relics from previous times on the evolutionary tree. Considering how long its been in the game that could be the case here. Though if purpose is something in question here, why are we not looking into the derp snout as well? It doesn't affect anything and is purely cosmetic as far as I'm aware. Not that I want it gone either; it's charming in its own unique way. If we must adjust the stats of short snout, however then maybe make it more attractive or give it a better advantage in terms of calling out for wanderers.1 point

Thanks for reporting this folks! @Micha and me looked into it today. The problem is surprisingly complex ^^' To fix the problem entirely, we would need to rework the path finding in the game quite a bit, which can lead to a variety of new problems. So for now, we tried to come up with some small patches which hopefully prevent the drowning in most, but definetly not all cases. This fix will be in the next update!1 point
