Hi! I'm fuzzysherbet, and I'm here for Niche. I've only had the game for a few days, but am definitely loving it! I first heard about the game from the Creatures Community, but only fully got into it once I saw some of JessiMew's videos.5 points

hello! its always nice to see some new faces around here ^ ^ also nice to see another person who watches jessimew! hopefully you'll enjoy niche and the forums!4 points

I finished it! im not sure its on the same island or they have the same ages or immunity genes, but i recreated the nichelings as closely as I could. they all have the same patterns, fur colours and visible genes, but some recessive genes may be different. Also, the nichelings have different portraits and family tree photos because I had to use console, but none of the other glitches should affect it. also dont mind the albino wanderer is technically not a wanderer and a child of adam and eve, but i gave him different immunities so it doesnt matter. and i may have swapped around sunflower and buttercup, and the child of the albino wanderer is an adult, i couldnt turn her back into a baby and she hasnt been named. lastly, i invited in a really cute wanderer, and a few more have spawned. enjoy the savefile, and tell me if there are any improvements I could make for you or creatures I could add. if you celebrate christmas, consider this a gift! With christmas coming tomorrow, I would like to make a tribute to all the rogue males, wanderers, and dodomingos who have been brutally murdered over the year. The rogues are always told to be evil, dangerous nichelings, and they get all the hate when they show up. All they want is love and a family, but they get tracked down and killed at their homes. This also goes to all the orphaned bearyenas out there. This holiday season, lets all let those poor souls live happy, and calm lives, so they dont suffer like the rest of their kind.(This is a challenge by the way) On the other hand, lets see who can make the most interesting holiday event in their game!!!2 points

Long ago, there was a pantheon of five mighty gods. The white god, Ugila, god of the sea and wishes. The tan wife of Ugila, Ohb; goddess of the sky and fire. and their three children; Neeti, the red goddess of mountains and life force. Kourai, the brown goddess of storms and love. And Icunuse, the black god of wind and dance. They decided that they wanted a tribe on their island that they resided on, so Ugila and Ohb worked together to create a mighty storm that would bring in two nichelings capable of creating a mighty tribe. Two souls wash up unconscious Eerik and Edite. Neeti, Kourai, and Icunuse send them a dream, telling them that they were here to have a mighty foundation on the island and introduce them to the five gods. They suggest that both of them choose a patron god or goddess before fading away and waking them up. Edite stumbles to her paws. "You're Eerik. From the dream." She steps over to him.: "I.. I guess it wasn't just a dream then," he mumbles. "We can make it if we work together. Follow my lead." Eerik chooses Neeti as his patroness, for he is a timid nicheling and wishes that he had her valor. Edite chooses Kourai as her patroness, hoping to be as loving but also as strong as she. Eventually, the two of them inevitably fall in love; Kourai blesses the relationship, and Eerik falls for Edite due to her strong but gentle mannerisms. After some days, they have a child and name her Narcisa. Narcisa is smug, modest, and a survivor. She chooses Ohb as her patroness. "The clan is also joined by Chichi. He is happy and sweet, but has a darker and more serious side. He chooses Ugila as his patron, for he wishes to forget his past and look towards the future. Eerik and Edite have another child; this time, a boy named Vibianu. He chooses Ugila as his patron, his choice inspired by his fascination with the sea. Meanwhile, Chichi and Narcisa are bonding well together. "Maybe you were brought here for a reason," Narcisa muses, looking at Chichi. "Maybe Ugila brought you here to help you forget everything." "Perhaps," Chichi says, nuzzling Narcisa. It isn't long before Chichi and Narcisa have a child of their own, becoming mates. They name their daughter Harshi, and she is calm and artistic. She chooses Icunuse as her patron.2 points

You don't have to fight the balance bears. They only move one turn at a time so you can usually easily avoid them. If you want to fight them (which I do recommend) big body, spiky body or armored boy would be the most useful as they give defense but you can defeat them easily without. Just have very strong Nichelings (double bearyena claws are my go to with horns) just a strong as you can get them, preferably with poison fangs or scorpion tail as Balance Bears are vulnerable to poison. Also when it gets cold keep your Nichelings in groups of three to keep them warm. Having purr snout Nichelings around to heal your fighters is also a good idea. Apart from having fighter, hunters with a decent speed stat are also useful to hunt the bunnies. Hope that helps2 points

Upload your favorite beautiful nichelings, male, female, wanderer, rouge, (how can a rouge be hot what am I even saying-) whatever! Edit: Same tribe, new hot female! Mesi Reason she's here is she is a bb of a wanderer and one of my main pairings Amazing how preg wanderers can just stumble into nests and give us beautiful babies Incase you're curious here is the mother and father- Rokir (Father of like 99% of the tribe as of now) Relare (Wanderer of the Jungle)1 point

Maybe don't crop the hair out. Every face needs a frame. Well, most faces. A FEW people can pull off bald without glasses or anything, but most people need some framing.1 point

Thanks, Lurkily! I used to play the Creatures series a lot, and I still play from time to time. But when I was really into it, I used to dabble with the genetics editors a lot, and I actually made a genetic breed for it! It's not Mendelian genetics, but I still love dipping into a new baby norn's genes to see what they got from their parents and what they mutated themselves. If that counts as artificial life and genetic algorithms, then yeah, I am definitely interested in that kind of stuff!1 point

Coooooookiiiiiiiiiieees!!!!!11 (The reason why I like taking pictures is that there's little chance that I'm IN the picture . Think outside the frame )1 point

I had a pineapple... He turned out to be the God of Starvation... Anyways... Since this a dump for all my gods I have another Menarak: God of Disease and Servant to the Trickster gods The digger trunk had doubled up immunities and spread her sickness around. She even blamed it on her child! I didn't mean this but in Malay menarak means to catch (like catching a cold) Cuz I like meanings in other languages and I always have google translate open (Thus the translation is probably not accurate but whatever)1 point

God, I'm so sorry to hear this. I've gone through the same thing multiple times... I've lost all my tribes at one time too. Perhaps you can try to re-incarnate them in another save!1 point

He may be the god of strawberry milkshakes, but he is not the god of strawberry banana milkshakes. You must keep searching my child1 point

I've made a number of suggestions on the subject myself, and me and Mister got to brass tacks a while ago and tried to really grind on the subject. We ended up with that suggestion he linked. It does address your needs, and I've tried to challenge it, and get others to challenge it, by finding a usage-case that it can't address; it's been very difficult to find anything. Without getting overly weird or confusing or complex, I think that suggestion approaches an ideal solution. In short, we localize logic so that it needs a connection, (besides making sense, it also provides information about disconnection that logic can use,) and instead of connectors, we pair up a transmitter and receiver part. Receivers poll all transmitters, and reproduce the signals that reach the transmitter. They don't act as a hub, like connectors do now, (which is why they also act as splitters,) but they produce a signal like a 'button' logic part, speaking to parent and child parts. Receivers and transmitters both have the option of either a whitelist or a blacklist, with an empty blacklist (all signals pass) being the default. That gives you control over the direction signals travel - from brain to subdrone, one subdrone to another, or subdrone to brain, whatever you like. It also lets you control what signals pass. Only certain signals, or all except certain signals. It also provides feedback, if you engineer well, about when parts are connected. You can design subdrones so that they can communicate back-and-forth with the drone brain, but using signals wisely, you can prevent any of the signals they use for command-and-control from being transmitted, so they can't interfere with each others' operation. It does what you need and more; I'm still interested, though, if anybody can find a problem with it. The best way to test an idea is to honestly try to defeat it.1 point

my suggestion is to not rush through, really build up a l a r g e food source before progressing to hard islands. once you do, keep your amount of nichelings small. once you have a pair that can breed, stop breeding your current pair. Get through all the hard islands as quickly as possible, go directly to the ports.1 point

More plaaaaaaaants!!! Fern: Appears in jungle biomes, can be destroyed with 4 strength to get 3 nesting material, can't be stepped on, regrows. Flowers: Appears in easy islands, can't be destroyed or covered by grass, attracts rabbils, can be stepped on. Short grass: Appears in grassland and savannah biomes, can be stepped on, doesnt do anything special XD Weird leafy sorrel thing: Appears in grasslands and jungles, heals one day of damage, can't be stepped on, regrows. Cucumber/pumpkin thing: Appears in jungles, "fruits"(?) can be harvested for 3 food, fruit regrows, can be destroyed with 4 strength to ged 3 food and 2 nesting material, can't be stepped on, doesn't regrow after being destroyed.1 point

Yeah, I just randomly name my safefiles and A and S are just conveniently placed next to each other (I had some really crappy starters at first so I restarted the world until I had some better ones and I get really lazy with typing in the names over and over again) ^^1 point

Okay, it took a while cuz it's my work week and most of my time has been spent at work, but when not at work I played with these sketches So here's my edited art! Tree: Grassland: Savannah: Home Island: Beach: Underwater: Swamp: Jungle: Mountain: Snow: I actually really like this instead of the textured stuff I tried to do before <3 Thanks for helping me!1 point

@MysticTopaz They look awesome but a bit too textured for ingame I think but as fanart/concept art they are great! and I didn't mean for them to be covered in scales all over, just a hint of scales at the breast like the strands of fur we get on normal body without having it everywhere, the rest would be filled out by imagination ^^ and for the leaf/sky one, I like it but again, it is too textured for ingame I think, ingame they are all solid colored. so maybe the sky blue could be the overwrite color for the pattern? I made an example how a spotted one would then look when sitting on a tree, but very simplistic whithout texture, just color and outlines as we get ingame1 point
