I once had a nest free island -- except for one, exactly in the middle. Niche gets weird at times. I'd love if they would fix the first island in story mode, aswell. Nothing worse than not finding a permanent nest and leaving only one incompatible immunity heir, if any.

Okay, I know what you're thinking, but I have a very good reason for not putting on a head, tail, or coloring the legs: I wanted the full focus to be on the body! XD You will most definitely still have a tail and head and colored limbs, I just wanted to focus on the body. Speaking of the body, though, let me first focus on the actual main body then I'll get to the wings: The body is broken up into three sections. The top section of the body is very fluffy and puffy, similar to that of the Big Body, and takes on the dominant fur color. The middle section is smooth and takes on the recessive fur color. The bottom section is also smooth but matches the top section in taking on the dominant fur color. The middle and bottom sections are supposed to be round/cylindrical like a butterfly's body; I did my best to get that kind of impression. The middle section is where the top wings connect, and the bottom section is where the bottom wings connect, though since they're butterfly wings they look like it's all one big wing, so I guess it doesn't really matter when it comes to actually making the models for the game. XD Now for the wings attached to the body: Butterfly wings can vary from bottom [facing toward you] to top [when you view them from the back], so as a result I decided to draw three different types of butterfly wing. All of them offer +4 flying and you can fly with this body, but no swooping. Having two bird wings instead would get you a lot farther a lot faster, of course, but flying for this body is more or less a background ability; it's what you'll see below that's the real stars of the show. Type 1 [at the top with the gradient]: +1 attractiveness, +1 distasteful appearance, +1 poisonous [when being attacked] Type 2 [bottom left green one]: +2 camouflage +1 attractiveness Type 3 [bottom right yellow one]: +2 intimidate +1 distasteful appearance .::EDIT::. I figured it would be best to show a full body complete nicheling with this body as an example, so below I will do just that! Type 1: Type 2: Type 3: .::EDIT2::. I had the idea to draw out variations of the wings, so here we go! I included as many fur colors, horn colors, and eye colors as I could to make these Type 1 Variations! But first, a little info: The body's midsection is the recessive fur color, and the top and bottom are the dominant fur color. The wing's outline is the same as the horn color. The wing's semi-transparent gradient goes like this: The color closest to the body is the recessive eye color and the color closest to the tip of the wing is the dominant eye color. I replaced Violet with Pink because I like it better that way. Besides, pink stands out more. The wing's spots go like this: The big spots are the complimentary color to the dominant eye color [example: Blue-Orange, pink-yellow], and the little spots are the complimentary color to the recessive eye color. Now on to the wings!! Interesting take on the crab claw being specific for crabbits, but if that’s the case I think I would only pair that ability with +2 strength. Other takes on crab claws can be found here:

My favorite islands types would be the swamps.But favorite islands in general are whale island and Home island,specially Home Island because of the rival tribe/Adams family,feels more natural and realistic with competition of your same species

I know. I hate Cracker Jaw. The prettiest Eve that I had was the most recent who had Peacock tail. But even she was just plain Dark Brown. Thought the first time I got one with double claw. Also Stinky tail. And her colors were pretty too.

It would be cool if there were different types of manes. Think of a nicheling with the mane of a lion! Here are my ideas: Small mane: Just few tufts of hair on the head +1 attractiveness Medium mane: The current mane +1 cold resistance Big mane: The mane of a lion +2 cold resistance -1 heat resistance +2 attractiveness Tuft mane: Like medium mane exept this comes with ear tufts and if you have medium tail, it gets a tail-tip-tuft and double effect. Females display eartufts (and tail tip) they also get effects. +1 hearing Double effect for medium tail + attractiveness Dominance order: Medium mane > Small mane > Big mane > Tuft mane Edit: 23rd of February 2020 Updated artwork! I just thought of an idea for a challenge, but it's very weird. But here are the rules: When you start the tribe you have to have 3 babies with your starting male, then kick him out. After that, your starting female is not allowed to breed until you get to the next island. Then, every female Nicheling must have a partner male by using some sort of random generator, even if they share immunity genes. Then each Female can only have 3 kits with their partner male until they get to the next island. You have to kick out any Nichelings with blind eyes, deformed paw, or derp snout. You will have one leader, that is female, and she can breed as many times as you want, and when she dies you have to choose her youngest daughter to be the next leader. Thank you @Skysplash8 for this suggestion: You can't use permanent nests! If you want to try it out you can, or, if you have anything that you think I should add, just say it and I'll add it (maybe)!

A desert biome. Just sand and small pieces of grass not too often. Hot with different kinds of cactus, one could have fruit (Like prickly pears and cactus pears) and some could just be there, like a normal cactus. If it would be okay, maybe there could be a few puddles? Suggest anything else that you think would go good in a desert biome. Sorry if I took someone's idea. Maybe there could be new genes for it too! In the sandbox mode it would be found in medium islands. The desert wouldn't have any tall grass, just sand and small pieces of grass sometimes.

Crab Claw This claw, as you guessed looks like the ones of a crab. - Adds the ability to crack open the crabbits - or crabs that seem to follow certain nichelings around and can only be attacked from behind. - Adds 2 strength per Crab claw, each nicheling can have a total of 4 strength if they have double Crab claw. - Digging +2 - Movement +1 - Berry picking -1 ( if you have both Crab claws ) - Distasteful appearance +2 - You unlock it by hitting a crabbit 20 times

IT'S BACK!!! And still as creepy as ever... This is a suggestion from last year, and honestly I find the appearance intimidating, but I love the idea anyway! Based off of Angler Fish, this Glamour Maw has little blue gill thingies on the sides of the face just like the Gill head, but this one has more than underwater breathing to offer: a constant attraction effect similar to that of the Peacock Tail, but instead of attracting mates it attracts prey items such as fish and rabbils. The fishing bulb would be the same color as the nicheling's eyes, just to make things easier. And thanks to that attractive bulb, it gains +1 fishing. Plus it could have +1 strength, because of all those teeth. Not sure if it would have a sense of smell, though- not sure if it's of any use in the water.

i watched all the episodes up until a few episodes into jungle gate and started watching again the episode catnip was born on the summer mountains, i need to watch those episodes because ive heard a lot of cute nichelings were born i tried to binge watch it and i got about 3 episodes in before i got a bad headache and stopped. ill carry on tomorrow

From the Archipelago Kora- the goddess or caring. She was the only mother in the tribe that would help her kids and wish them good luck. All of her kids left the island, and she helped them on their way. She would take damage for them and any other sick/ drowning nichelings. She once dived super deep into the water, taking damage from drowning on the way, to bring a drowning nichelings into the tribe. If you need courage or strength before you do an act of kindness (maybe your gonna save a wanderer from a bearenya or your child is about to go on an adventure) you pray to her to be strong and to help you. [btw this is all from a nichelings perspective) Kora has big ears, to hear her children, a claw to protect them, nimble fingers to feed them and normal hind legs to run to them From the Archipelago Aname- the prophet. They were having too many babies on her island and they were starting to starve. She saw new islands in the distance and declared “we must travel, off of these islands, out of this ring of islands, to new lands” she declared this when she was only about 4 days old. Her designated mate was just a grown up and his best friend was too. They jumped to the new island with ease. But she was too tiny and got drowning damage when she attempted. Her mate tried to help her but in the end they both took off almost half of their life from drowning. The food resources were starting to go up as less babies were born. A name was bitter that’s her propechy had ended up harming them both. She manages to have 4 babies with her mate (one set of twins, one name An and the other name Ame- get it?) before he passed. None of them got the fill prophet mark (a white mark right on before their purr snout) and she had too choose one that had a semi mark. The tribes food resources started to go down more as traveled less, had more babies. The prophet spoke no more and they are awaiting a sign. (I’m still figuring out their story) She was brown with lots of white spots like the stories she told were sprinkled over her. She had a purr snout to heal them with the propechy. She had a digging paw to dig out the signs and a claw to protect the stories. She hadn’t normal hind legs to try to run to the end of the propechy. From the Archipelago Isre- the goddess of warnings. The prophets words had not sunk in yet. Lots of nichelings (weak ones) were still on the island. Isre was just about to jump to the next island with her friend when two bearenyas appeared out of nowhere. She called a warning to her tribe, jumping to save herself and her friend, as they were both very weak. The two here has paved on the shore, waiting for them. Just then th battalion arrived, slaying the bearenyas but not before taking some critical hits. An old nichelings wo had joined them was slain. The last thing he saw before he passed was Isre’s bright orange tail disappearing into the bushes. Several other nichelings did as well. They never would have survived if the bearenyas had ambushed them in their nursery, protecting their babies. They told stories about how she only spoke to give the direst of warnings, her bright orange fur giving you the sign before disappearing with her mate. She had bright orange fur to warn them and a claw she never used. Zyla- goddess of the harvest. (I literally made her up at school while I was bored) When a tribe is starving they are said to pray to her.If they gather at least five food on that day before praying it is said that that she will bestow 1of her traits on that nichelings. She had playtupus beak so she could feed from the bottom, ram horns for more strength, nimble fingers so that she could collect and crack nuts, a claw so that she could fish and hunt, big ears so that she could hear where the food was, berry purple eyes, hind legs so that she could run to the berries and stinky tail so that she would not get the sickness. If a worm,berry,bunnel ect was gathered in one turn unlike the odds it’s supposed to be a gift from her. When then summer months come, a tribe is destined to follow her ways and try to please her and get her incarnation into their tribe. It is said that if you get her incarnation into your tribe either during your lifespan you will never go hungry or she will bleed all the berry bushes, oceans, bunny burrows ect, dry forcing you to move to a new island. Maybe even both can happen. I really need more gods... I have so many goddesses btw I mostly use the goddesses from Seri’s tribes (like Meis, Yuki and Tata) and Jessi mew’s tribes (like Anameme and the balance sisters)

I've had many gods but sadly forgot about them so I'm left with only one here she is.... Lily She is the goddess of second chance, She protects nests and the babies born in them in her life she adopted many babies due to there mothers passing, she guides the babies to a new life keeping them close and making sure they are protected by all who are near. to summon Lily is to have a nichling dedicate there life to protecting young, and to look albino but have grey spots. Her tribe had a goal of being albino so they would breed for white fur and orange eyes for than until they found someone with albinism. Lily was considered very beautiful but secluded herself from the tribe only keeping her adopted son near, Than one day A pink male came by and decided to be her mate she was reluctant but accepted and had a few of babies but was far more connected to her adopted children. but it wasn't all happy Lily sadly died protecting her family her first adopted son was shocked and there was a killer bearhena (idk how to spell this..) closing in and Lily on her final day with a pregnant belly stepped in saving her sons precious genes.Than sadly I deleted the save file I was very upset with myself but yeah.. Appearance~ All white fur, Grey spots, Orange eyes, (I wish she had poison fangs and antlers but I can only dream),Velvet paw and runner leg (Or bearhena claw), (I wish big body), and A flower crown WITH a large scar going across her eye.. imma make a new game and try to make Lily again but as I wish she could look like TwT

Hi there! I’ve always loved niche from the moment I first saw my favorite YouTube (Seri the pixel biologist) playing it. I’ve seen it grow since the pre-released, buggiest, ugliest versions of the game. I loved what it’s evolved, and is evolving, into.I realize Niche isn’t the only game astray Fawn studios makes, but’s its the one I play and enjoy the most. A little bit about me- Im school age girl (I don’t feel comfortable giving out private information) whos always loved gaming. Whether I’m playing it or watching someone else play (to some extent) I enjoy it. While none of my friends really get it, I meet plenty online who love It’s as much as me. (Do you?) I also enjoy reading, playing soccer, swimming, role playing and more! A lot of the time, once I finished my numerous activities after school, I’ll hop onto my computer and play niche. It helps me relax but also makes me playful and happy. The mutation menu is one way. And you can always just not breed with derp snout nichelings Or you can learn to like derp snout since it can be useful in other ways. It gives distasteful appearance, so predators will be detoured.

With the upcoming sandbox settings, I tought of a fun and really difficult challenge, that propably has lots of issues. You set every age slider to max, exept for adult, wich you set to 1 day. Simple

@Amaterasu I'm pretty sure they don't eat their own cubs, but if they take over a pride, they'll kill and eat the previous leader's cubs. Bears (Maybe just brown?) bears do this too.

I think that's just bad luck and not a bug. Mating call can call creatures of any gender though males with the peacock tail attract more females

I loved this idea so much I HAD to draw up a sketch before bed today I like the idea of it being an ancient gene, or at least one that's really hard to get, rather than giving it a cool down. The one I drew would, like the Derp Snout, not show what ears it has, showing the spade headpiece instead, but the dominant ears' stats would still apply, and like the Bearyena Snout it wouldn't have a mane. Also I gave it a blue toxic body because it's a squid, why not? I think the beak would be the same color as the horns, just like platypus beak and regular beak. Didn't know what to do with the suction cups, so I just made them pink in order to stand out from the rest of the body. I think on top of the spit ability it should also have +1 gathering and +1 cracking.

Spitting is something I wanted to add since FOREVER. Some of you might still remember that the Derp Snout used to be called Spit Snout, the reason being that we wanted to give it spitting ability It would be able to spit at Rabills and other small prey, which would glue them to the ground for a day. Take my upvote!

Maybe it could be a Llama head that you can use to spit at creatures with. Just imagine having a whole tribe of llamas, with everyone spitting at rabbils and crabbits and every other living thing they can find Would probably only have +1 attack.
