  1. I love Whale Island too...First time I went I nearly starved but got back on track. The other times I went, I have been very lucky and successful. I love the abundance of bearyenas that provide some challenge. Not so much the rogues... my favorite islands are Grass Mingle and grass adventure, oasis, and whale island. I probably would like the snow islands too (I’m about to go there prepared for the first time!) I like archipelago as well, I just wish the islands were more varied each time instead of the exact same shape.

  2. When I've done my challenge tribes on Long Winter, both times only spawned one permanent nest

  3. Just how do they tell each other apart?

  4. I would like yalls opinions on which islands are easiest/hardest... 1. When you start out on that island in sandbox mode 2. When you are prepared to come to that island for example if I were to rank some islands... 1. Tiny Green 2. Peaceful Meadow 3. Archipelago (except for the deep water) 4. Grass Adventure 5. Grass Mingle 6. Whale Island etc Ok your turn! Rank the islands as best you can based on your experiences.

  5. I chose Long Winter to be harder because there's only one tile of water and the rabbil glitch. Summer Mountains because there's more grass(which is easier. Overgrown Jungle has no water, and in the Deep Jungle creatures can catch fish, cool down or grab a water healing fruit to escape from an ape. And Home Island is sort of hard if you start on it, because Adam's tribe members always steal the food (unless your nichelings have cracking ability). Just so you know I made this list quite quickly, so there might be times where I put an easier island under a harder island.

  6. 1: Peaceful Meadow (the reason i put this higher than tiny green is because it's literally tiny green but bigger, so there's more food) 2: Tiny Green 3: Crossing 4: Archipelago 5: Grass Adventure 6: Grass Mingle 7: Whale Island 8: Summer Mountains 9: First Snow 10: Home Island 11: Jungle Gate 12: Swampy Hill (unless the tribe have poison resistance) 13: Oasis 14: Deadly Hills 15: Rainforest 16: Sleepy Reeds (same as Swampy Hill, much easier with poison resistance) 17: Burning Savanna 18: Frost Lands 19: Long Winter 20: Deep Jungle 21: O V E R G R O W N J U N G L E

  7. I think you might have caused most of the bugs due to your console use but going to whale island sounds good. Or going left and then right sometimes fixes the island loop. About the long winter I don't know, probably no fix there but 99% sure that it has to do with the console use.

  8. If this feature was added there would be ‘kidnapper’ nichelings. These could be male or female and they want a child REALLY badly. They could be infertile or just never found a mate. If one of your baby nichelings is unguarded they could swoop in and snatch it just like the bluebird. They would take the baby somewhere on the island. If you hit the kidnapper hard enough or kill it you’ll get you baby back. It would have the red border if you sense it by hearing or smell (just like the rogue male). They would probably appear in harder islands, where there’s more danger. I got this idea from how many times I release a nichelings and they go to a nest where a newborn baby is. I always think ‘what’s if their gonna kidnap it?’ These nichelings could Maybe be even ones you’ve released. It would add some extra fun and danger into the game.

  10. Honestly love the whale island-- it allows for experimentation with genes due to the endless food it provides (if you don't want to use console) and you can have so many creatures! Plus I just love the layout of the island. It's also very pretty!

  11. So I returned to home island. No loops, no crabbit army, no rogues in trees. As standard as can be, in other words. And then there was this guy. Recessive scorpion tail. And yet another one... This one with another tail gene: Am I crazy or do they usually only have fluffy tail?

  12. Last I went to Long Winter, there were only 2 nests. That island was crawling with glitches. Such as no snow or rabbils at all. A common bug here apparently is rabbits don’t spawn until the snow melts...well there’s no snow either.

  13. I think that like cats and dogs in real life, Nichelings should be able to hold their kits in their mouths. The baby could be carried as soon as it is born, and can be carried up until two gems. Maybe also big bodied or large bodied creatures could carry lean bodied creatures like how in the wild sometimes animals will carry the weaker members of their packs or family. It would really help out when you have this one baby that runs out of energy before making it to the port, and you can just pick them up and leave the island. It would also make it easier so that the blue birds couldn't reach the baby. - Niches can only carry their babies till 2 gems! - Babies that are carried up until two gems will not grow, and the child may take slight damage due to not being able to grow. They will be dropped onto available tiles next to the mother, if none than baby will stop growing until put down. - You CANNOT do anything besides walking when holding a kit in its mouth. - Rare chance that a bluebird may still attack a scruff carried nicheling, however parent can fight back.

  14. This suggestion is pretty cut and dry and like a year old, but oh well Like Rogue Males, there could be Lonely Ladies who carry similar genes as Rogue Males, mate with your male nichelings, and steal nests like dodomingos in order to have those babies, which will then either become Lonely Ladies or Rogue Males depending on their gender, though they will follow her around in the tile behind her like a bearyena and her cub until they're old enough to wander away. Rogue Males and Lonely Ladies won't mate with each other, though; just your nichelings. Also if you leave a baby unattended, the Lonely Ladies will take them away, and the baby will follow her around like her own Rogue/Lonely baby, but instead of going Rogue/Lonely once they're adults, they'll turn into Wanderers that you can invite into your tribe. If you want to take your baby back before then, like immediately after she steals it away, then you'll have to kill her.

  17. Have you used console before? Console can be super buggy if used a lot, but I've never heard of it being so bad that even after closing the game. If so I suggest backing up your saves and uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it to see if that might fix it ^^

  21. As would be expected with such danger surrounding him, the poor unnamed kit was quickly snatched up by one of the many nearby birds in the sky, though Faith's Chosen could not find too much sorrow or guilt in his heart for the child. Meanwhile, having all faced the harsh, energy draining cold of the approaching winter, it is with wonder that SwiftCurrent and Salvation discover the healing magic of the newest member of the tribe. Kirvan tells them of the tribe members they had never met, and the way a defenceless kit was abandoned to the fates, a particularly harrowing act to Salvation, who had been tasked with caring for SwiftCurrent at such a young age. As Kirvan sings his healing songs through the night, Salvation feels a powerful draw towards the kind and mysterious creature, encased in ice as SwiftCurrent's father had been, but with the opposite of his curse. In the other half of the tribe, a tragedy has befallen Isis. In her haste to escape the peril that stole her first child, she has grown too tired to build her nest, and will pass away without her dreams of a family built from love ever being achieved. Salvation and Kirvan's first kit is also born with Salvation's all important double digging paw. With Salvation's permission, SwiftCurrent asks if Kirvan would help her try and keep the gift of flight alive in their tribe, to which Kirvan agrees. Meanwhile, things look grim for Faith's Chosen and his wanderer friend. Surrounded on all sides and too cold to do more than swipe at the nearest fox a few times, Faith's Chosen reflects on his choices in life and the path he has walked. He does not know about the other tribe mates that the strange ice bound creature went to join and believes his path here will lead to the end of his family's line and legacy.

  24. I went to Home Island as an experiment, and here's what I found: - ALL the females had chestnut brown fur + random color, and black pattern + random color. ALL the males were pure chestnut brown/black. Weird.

  25. I just noticed, but all males have the exact same shade of brown: The females only have fluffy tail, too.

  30. A gift from the goddess is brought to the tribe in the form of a healthy kit born with double digging paws. She is named Salvation Before he passes, StarSpot asks Nukirduk if he would do her the honour of having a kit with her. His gifts have helped the tribe collect food in ways that they could not have dreamt of, and she hopes their child will be blessed with the ability to continue his work Meanwhile, Faith's Chosen and Isis have found themselves quite an adventure as they search for food, and though Isis still carries CloudStream's kit, she finds herself growing fonder of Faith's Chosen, allowing herself to dream of a family made of love, not for survival Through his sickness claims his life, Nukirduk does have a moment to meet his daughter, a perfect creature sharing of his wings, if not his strength. In his last moments, he suggests she be named SwiftCurrent, in honour of StarSpot's parents, who brought her to this place and thus held a hand in the birth of his daughter. With only a day before her own passing, StarSpot asks Salvation to look after and care for SwiftCurrent, though she knows it to be a heavy burden for one so young. Though aware that winter is fast approaching and they should be focusing on finding food, Faith's Chosen's curiosity about the creature he could only just make out in the frozen glacier was too strong, and so he freed the strange creature, with its funny face and strange, hard tail. Upon the birth of Isis' first child, Faith's Chosen hears a call for help from a nearby creature, drained of energy and in mortal peril Though it goes against his every instinct, he calls for Isis to leave the baby to its fate as he was, and help save this wanderer.

  31. Finally have working internets again! The new leader is... Nikita! Her goal is to get to a new island! And to fly. But first a few more babes! Caramel and Gilgamesh have had a Cracker jawed son named Brock. Rea has had a daughter with the Friendly Beareyna. Her name is Pika. More children, Rea's daughter is Missy and is unfortunately almost infurtal. Caramels daughter is named Gogo and will be the last to head for the new Island. We have arrived at an interesting new island with, grassland, savannah, swamp and jungle elements... Nikita and Job have become mates, as have Brock and Pika, Felicitos and Kastor, Herodes and Opaque. Young Gogo is alone. Baby Boom! Also there is a sick wanderer killing my tribe... We have invited this clawed wanderer in to be Gogo's Mate. They have had a beautiful baby girl named Meis. We defeat a beareyna and tame its child Nikita has died. There are 5 choices for new leader Ivy, Eevee, Pidgy, Butterfree or Sentret Slot4 (3).nichesave

  32. While threats continued to surround them, so too did a new hope, in the form of rabbils On her last day, beside her mate, LightningSwift built her nest, fearful but also hopeful. Many threats surrounded them, but she knew they would be well protected by CloudStream and StarSpot Surrounded once more, StarSpot and CloudStream found themselves facing a tough decision - protect the youngest in their tribe and risk death in the process, or leave him to a cruel fate. Fate however must have been feeling kind that day, for luck was on his side as both the fox and the bear bypassed the unnamed cub in favour of other, unknown targets. The threat had not completely passed however. Once again, the unnamed boy was spared by fate, and so in thanks, he was given the name Faith's Chosen. The small tribe happened upon a glacier in their wanderings and, spotting the shape of a creature inside, broke it open to discover a stunning remnant of ancient time, who held a dark and sorrowful secret - that his tribe had consigned him to the ice, to prevent his sickness from spreading With the gift of flight, Nukirduk was able to bring another wanderer to the tribe, despite ever dwindling food supplies. Though he was sick, Nukirduk quickly proved his worth to the tribe, snatching up rabbils as fast as his wings would allow him to. Meanwhile, now nearing the end of his life, CloudStream asked Isis if she would carry the tribe, telling her the stories his parents had brought with them from the grasslands And so it was, consumed by the need to collect enough food to survive the rapidly approaching winter that the small tribe found itself split in two.

  34. Allright, this is my bright and beautiful Indigo. Reincarnation of the original. Her birth tribe followed a set of rules I won't ever go near again. In the swamp land, they prayed to a cold, harsh God, demanding blood sacrifices. One parent, one child and one wanderer. Every three generations the demands would change. All nichelings missing a particular attribute were brought to the pit. Surrounded by trees and stones, there was no escape from the circle. Indigo was a wanderer with a desirable trait -- blindness. The last seer had passed away, leaving no acceptable heir. She was indoctrinated into their cult, but could not allow herself to kill. Indigo refused their God. Enraged, the entire tribe was annihilated. Her reincarnation lives a much happier fate in the swamps, falling in love with Ravensight, another cursed nicheling who found his home there.

  35. The heavy snow makes it difficult to move, but now fully grown, CloudStream is proud to help his father collect food for the tribe. As they scavenge, a fellow wanderer appears before the small tribe, however, before she can be invited to join them, she disappears The distant sound of foxes makes LightningSwift fear for the wanderer, though she looked strong, she was still alone, while the foxes travelled in a pack Somewhere, the sound of a creature crying out in pain could be heard, only confirming LightningSwift's fears. Though now grown, she cautioned her children to be wary of the foxes. The presence of a strange and unwelcome creature caused the small tribe to fear for their food supply. Through more food was in sight, every morsel was precious and not to be wasted Even worse than the persistent visitor was the sudden appearance of a bear just like the one that had forced them to leave their planned home A situation that had once seemed so hopeful was now fraught with terror. With a threat lurking at every corner,, would this little family never find the peaceful mountain home they sought?

  38. Porto and Buttons daughter has been named Marble, after her pattern reminding me of marble cheesecake... This cool looking wanderer has been hanging around. Wish we had room for her. Claw, Poison Fangs and swimming tail. Pippi and Olaf have passed away, leaving behind a young son. Sterk has claw and Heat Body. Doubloon has passed of old age. Autumn Stage and Cremini have had another child. A daughter who looks similar to her elder sister. Her name is Pnuema. Button and Porto have been Attacked by a Beareyna! Also Koko was attacked by a rouge male while standing in a perma nest after her turns were over. Sigh... the Whims give her black horns and I give her claw,

  39. Interesting. It might indeed be tied to Whale Island but it is hard to say without being sure if the same issue persists in your game without going to whale island. I (luckily) never had the loop issue but I never pursued Story Mode enough to go that far more than once.

  44. I think the mountains or something like Grass Adventure, Grass Mingle oh and the Oasis. I just love the way you can specialze on fishing and cracking nuts in the Oasis and especially in the first few days/ generations it is really exiting to try to survive. The mountains are just cool in general. I love snow and the walrus deer are cool and just the mountains are awesome And Grass Mingle/ Adventure that have very good role playing potential

  45. My all time favourite has to be the Deep Jungle, since my favourite tribe originally kept travelling from jungle island to jungle island. The Deep Jungle is just so big and so full of life, and it is easy enough to survive in if you came prepared. So jungle islands are definitely my favourite, but some others that I like are Whale Island, Deadly Hills, Grass Mingle and Home Island.

  47. Ah, okay. I know they can be taken back, but I was thinking of looser rules for getting back the baby, like simply approaching it (I mean, surely they would choose their parents over an ugly, derp-snouted hag right?). I was thinking that lonely ladies could become aggressive once the steals a baby to balance the "reclaim by approach", since I think she would be determined to keep it. Lonely ladies not mating with spiky bodied males is good, but you would then need to watch both your males and females. My main concern would be the domino affect this causes: LL mates with one of your males Either steals a nest or an unclaimed one to have the baby The baby grows up to be either another RM or LL That's one more rogue to watch out for (or more, since I assume there's more than one lonely lady on the island) Rinse and repeat for an isle o' rogues I personally wouldn't want to deal with it, but maybe they could only appear on killer islands (or hard and above?). I think rogue males only appear on medium islands and above, or at least that's what I've noticed. I feel like being bombarded with lonely ladies and rogue males the moment you leave your grassy starter island might be a bit much and frustrating.
