So, during my Niche Competition playthrough that I obviously didnโt forget about, I split up certain events by volumes. And one day I got bored and made the cover for Volume 1. I was planning to make 2 and 3, but it never happened. I think itโs just the style that I hate. I draw way better today, since this was back from November. Eve terrifies me But yeah. Old volume cover. Woo.6 points

They SHOULD only spawn from "Ape Spawn Trees" ^^ Which of the 3 apes is spawned is random.5 points

honestly thought the title of this discussion was "Everyone look at my eye" ๐4 points

While I do think these would look super cute, it's not very realistic. Niche isn't SUPER realistic, but it tries to be as realistic as possible. Animals just don't do flower crowns. They look adorable in them, but they can't make them; we have to do that. No humans in Niche, so...4 points

ok so a long time ago I was playing Niche with my sister and I found a tree stump, so I tried to explain it to her but she kept interrupting me by pointing out other things on the screen so I just screamed "TREE STUNKLE DUMP" at her really loud, and she finally got the point ๐ So Tree Stump = Tree Stunkle Dump im not sorry3 points

The big jungle trees. They look the same as normal jungle trees, so you don't see where the apes will spawn. But if I remember correctly, there is an interaction with jungle trees (Shake?) and I think then the name of the tree is displayed. This would be the only way to find out which trees spawn apes. Unless you observe an ape spawning in front of a tree that is3 points

So if there is no "shake" action, then no apes will spawn? YIPPEEEE And one more question, we were testing this out but would like your input, what determines an Ape's behavior around water? Apparently apes sometimes cross rivers but not always?2 points

Appearance: A familiar creature with an armadillo head with elongated, pronged horns. It has a broad torso and fin-like arms. It has a dolphin tail, stumpy, muscular legs and webbed feet. The Dau's body is covered in soft skin, while its forearms are covered in luxurious hair. Its lower legs, inner thighs, nose and forehead are grey with white spots, while the rest of its body is black, grey and brown. The females look almost the same but with no horns and spots. (I am so sorry for the art -- ) It is found in: Archipelago only. Activity: Moves 3 spaces during the night, and will attack your nichelings if they are near nests, or berry bushes. General: When they mate they produce 1-2 eggs and it takes 3-5 days to hatch. Once they are hatched one of the parents will de-spawn, only one will stay and lead it's offspring away, if you niche-lings happens to defeat the mother/father Dau they can tame the Dau offspring for 3 food. The Dau's mature at 13 days and then are able to mate with a nicheling of opposite sex. Dau traits: - Webbed feet - Tailfin - Fin arms; swimming +3, moving -1 - Big body - Dau Head; smelling -1, eyesight +2, attack +1 - C and J immunity genes - Pattern b - pattern density thin - Antlers Your niche-ling can inherit all these1 point

I KNOW PEOPLE HAVE MADE THIS SUGGESTION BEFORE!!!!!! Now that that's over with here child... Wolf head Stats~ Attack~ 2 Smelling~ 3 or 2 Strong voice (Maybe make a new noise when calling out on stumps or trees like a deeper call than the high pitch chirps) Howl option (when on stumps you can howl which can scare off creatures from Carnivores to rogue males) Cold resistance~ 1 OK sooooo I was thinking we should add the wolf head because niche kind of remind me of a wolf if that makes sense, Anyway you know how people have suggested niche to breed with ram fox maybe this could be a head you get or just some random head. Places to find a nichling with this head or to unlock it, Live in the snow for 50 days? idk how long it takes to unlock big body...but that long. if you have more suggestions ill add them I guess...1 point

It's fine! Take all the time you need. School is such a pain in the tail and I know exactly how it feels with all the homework (AND the procrastination xD)1 point

I believe you can only perch on the small side branches that only some jungle trees have but not the top of the tree itself.1 point

So much artblock when it comes to drawing nichelings recently,,, here's something new I tried1 point
-
So... I just wanted to say we should have winter tails. Since we already have medium tails it would only make sense to have a winter tail to keep the nichlings warmer (Kinda looking like a fox tail). Possibly tiny tails- like a little Bobcat tail. I dunno. It would be cute. ...1 point

Hello everybody! I apologize for the inactivity in drawing art and more nichelings but here's a sketch I did as a warmup before I started on the super late secret Santa I'm supposed to do, haha! Worry not the person I'm drawing for is aware of my delay ^^ (You might be able to see that my style on anthros changed a lot although not much changed about my style on ferals)1 point

Man, it's been forever since I've visited the forums! But now that I'm here, I wanted my first comment to address both of you! Bostonlobstah, I agree with you- having the middle segment be the pattern color while the top and bottom are normal fur color makes a lot more sense than my idea XD And Skysplash8, I'm sorry I didn't fully understand the error of my ways until now I might make some new art of this body concept, but I'm not sure whether I would post it here on this chat or somewhere else. Either way, I'll make sure it looks like the more logical pattern-color instead of what I was doing before. Besides: it gives way more options for cuteness!1 point

I think it would be cool to have pregnant wanderers, that way the only way to get children isnโt to breed.1 point

I agree as well. Here's the comment I posted on Steam before I was pointed this way :3 I noticed you cannot banish or attack newborns or young, which is... pretty unrealistic. If you get a bad birth (double immunity genes, for example) you have to move everyone away from the nest to avoid spreading the sickness, and feed an unwanted cub until you can push it into the water to drown/be leeched on to death.I suggest being able to either have the mother abandon the cub from the nest (it dies as if attacked by an enemy) or be able to banish a cub from the group (if set as omega and using an alpha), because losing out on turns /and/ food for an unwanted, sick offspring doesn't really fit with the drive to survive the game protrays.Yes, I know it sounds harsh, but we're playing with a nature simulator here. Nature doesn't abide unfit offspring, and more often than not, I end up losing breeding time to having to wait out sickness when the random newcomer to the area turns out to be completely infertile and I"m dancing around Home/A/B/G genes trying to keep from having doubles xD1 point

Since I haven't gotten into the mood to draw nichelings all that much recently, here's the ghost boy again but I actually got around to making it a fullbody this time! I hope you guys like the artwork even though the front legs are wonky!1 point

Not a nicheling but I decided to draw my OC to relieve some stress! I'll try my best to finish all the requests on my other thread ^^!1 point

Working on this, will be added in the next update. (At least that the gene is named in the unlock message and the newly unlocked genes are highlighted. Don't know about the rest yet.)1 point

I just lost my first tribe last night so I'm a little emotional, but I managed to save pictures of a few favorites. First we have the twins, Prince and Prophet. Prince had my first Peacock Tail and they were my first Antenna Nichelings. Second picture is Tox, Prince's daughter with a wanderer we took in. She was my first Toxic Body Nicheling.1 point
