So while looking through some of your guy's playthroughs, I noticed some people have called out certain wanderers for having "bad" genes, or genes that don't really suit the environment. I got confused, because the genes to me looked a-okay. So that begs the question! What do you guys consider perfect genes? For me, it's just genes that make the creature look cool. Now I see why I'm bad at this game7 points

ohh… I have had many loved nichlings in the past too bad I lost theme without a photo but here are a few I got a snap of Lily (goddess of Second chance) Rais/Bat (Most beautiful descendant of my Adams quest) Kora/Moss (Seer of the swamps) Anareis/Autumn (My goddess of sickness) Rako/Scarlet (Just some random nichling)3 points

Perfect genes for me don't exist because I don't like a homogenous looking tribe. So I have a bunch of different looking Nichelings all around and don't mind the occasional webbed feet or yellow fur. Just if anything starts to dominate it gets annoying. Though I do prefer good eyes, high fertility, different immunity genes and no hemophilia3 points

*me when I find a sickly digging truck out of an ice block except I actually throw them in* and let's all think about how philo is the real niche goddess I mean she MADE the game (along with her team but philo is the one mentioned here)3 points

So, during my Niche Competition playthrough that I obviously didn’t forget about, I split up certain events by volumes. And one day I got bored and made the cover for Volume 1. I was planning to make 2 and 3, but it never happened. I think it’s just the style that I hate. I draw way better today, since this was back from November. Eve terrifies me But yeah. Old volume cover. Woo.2 points

Because they've been reincarnated, I say give them better genes. It's like, if they have the power to be born again, they can give themselves better genes. But if the bad genes are an important part of their character, they let them have bad genes.2 points

My favorite genes are basically Adam’s family’s genes—big body, poison fangs, and runner leg. Also a huge sucker for mask and stripes! I like wings, big nose, antlers, peacock tail and fin tail as well. I don’t mind yellow (I need to get used to it for the skittles Playthrough) but I don’t like yellow/black or moss brown/black.2 points

Generally: new desirable trait? If yes, vet for traits requiring mutation (2 bad snouts, double no pattern...) if i expect more than two bad traits being passed on, it's a no. Fertility isn't that important. A high stat is a plus, but low ones are easy enough to fix. Same for hemophilia. They almost always produce a very unrealistic, healthy son. Even if they don't, it just doesn't spread. Frog legs are a hell no. It takes forever, 4 generations forever to remove, once they enter a breeding pair. Scorpion tail is my favourite, mitigating most issues if it passes on well. Exceptions are made for high risk high reward pairings. Rougeling passed on all of his water genes. Mom had big body and fishing tail, giving water body automatic dominance. If the first child hadn't been great, there was a very hungry bluebird overhead. As it is, he got the bad fertility and a novel immunity gene. Love him.2 points

I'd gladly invite in a blind nicheling with hemophilia and double no paw but I'd use them for exploring or gathering if they can collect and I'd only bring them in if I have a stable supply of food. Additionally, I would restrict them from breeding. If they only have one of the bad genes (eg, just double no paw) then I would not restrict them from breeding: mutation menues exist after all. My perfect nichelings are healthy, (I can make allowances for inactive short-sightedness or inactive blindness) with big ears for hearing and big nose for smelling since I dislike restrictions on senses. I dislike poison fangs -even though they look attractive- and I would much rather have toxic body to gather poison berries. I don't mind having weak nichelings, though it does come in handy having at least two strength so I have defense against bearyenas. If I have armored body unlocked, I will use that as an alternative to having high strength. Although a lot of genes are beneficial, I don't really care and if I haven't got my desired genes I'll happily take what I can get.2 points

Once in First Snow, Bostonlobstah settles down and has a son named Ezra. We break open an Ice Block and find lovely Sireko. That's a funny looking rogue. Oh CRAP POOZIE NO We also find this guy and invite him in. A disgraceful rogue son is born. Who's not pink. One day, Bostonlobstah is minding her own business, wondering why it isn’t snowing, when all of a sudden she hears a strange noise coming from the bushes...It sounds like 'doot doot.' "Who are YOU!?" Bostonlobstah exclaims. The funny-looking pink nicheling responds: "My name's Philomena and I'm the real Niche goddess." Bostonlobstah is infuriated. She comes this close to tossing Philomena into the ice-cold river. (Honestly Bostonlobstah And Philomena look really similar! Pink + white, antlers, nimble fingers and stinky tail!)2 points

Honestly, I have the most fun in my tribes when they're low on food. With this, I can have fun in all my tribes! You could set a limit of any number, and from then on the game wouldn't let you get any more food than that. Let's say you choose 100 food at your limit. At the time your tribe already has 300 food, so 200 of the food automatically disappears. You're now at 100 food. You have one of your creatures gather some berries. The berries are picked, but they aren't added to the food count, because you are already at your maximum. You pass the day, now you have 98 food. You collect three berries with one move. Two of the berries go into the food store, but the remaining one disappears-because you're at the max. If you want to change the maximum or turn the feature off, you can do it at any time. This feature would make the game more challenging, but it could also make it more fun. There's nothing like being on the brink of survival and not having much food1 point

Hemophilia, no paw, short sighted nichelings... these elements aren't a necessary part of someone's identity. If asked, I doubt anyone would like to remain arm-less. Nicheling's aren't a someone, though, they have no feelings or being. But for roleplaying purposes, I like to pretend otherwise. In this framework, what's your take on reincarnation? Should these issues be fixed, sometimes fixed or fixed at all? Case 1: Indigo Still beautiful and able to pick her favourite toxic berries. Case two: shortsighted eyes, double no paw. Like this guy: Additionally, is the derp snout part of who they are, or should they receive a different snout gene?1 point

Well just because they have been reincarnated doesn't mean they can't run out of luck. If they reincarnated themselves maybe there are the limits of their power. Like they can be reincarnated but they aren't strong enough to give themselves better genes. If they are reincarnated by a higher power, maybe them having flaws is a plan of the higher power for their character development or part of their destiny1 point

When I was younger I lived in a semi secluded house in the woods that commonly had injured birds so we would take them in and nurse them back to health until they could be released. The only time we weren't able to save one was when it was suffering from internal bleeding. It was a pretty sad case.1 point

The big jungle trees. They look the same as normal jungle trees, so you don't see where the apes will spawn. But if I remember correctly, there is an interaction with jungle trees (Shake?) and I think then the name of the tree is displayed. This would be the only way to find out which trees spawn apes. Unless you observe an ape spawning in front of a tree that is1 point

There are only 12 immunity genes, and maybe we could add Immunity L, M, N, and O, just to decrease the possibility of sickness and a more diverse tribe1 point

Yea, wanderers do get attacked by predators and are affected by temps but the meat eating plants is annoying.... and not just wanderers, it bothers me that dodomingos and other entities literally circle those things just begging to be eaten and nothing happens1 point
