Actually, instead of playing Niche, I've just been stalking the forum to see if the devs released a sneak-peek of the new update. 😅4 points

I'm shortsighted and I require glasses to read simple things like reading text on a computer screen. Seriously, if I take off my glasses right now I can't read this text. Interestingly enough my parents don't need glasses.4 points

Hi! As I really love both Niche and drawing, I want to have a post where I'll be posting my occasional drawings. I don't have plenty of time in my life so I won't update very often, but this will help me to have all of them gathered in a single post, and also you'll be able to see them and comment if you like them or if I could improve something! Also if I have the time, I could draw someone's nichelings^^ For now I'll post my drawing of one of my all time favorite Nichelings, my beloved Skull, Goddess of Mischief. She was from my first tribe ever and was born in the warm savannah. She was really mischievous and liked to pull pranks on everyone. I really wish I had taken a pic of her genetics to try and breed her again...3 points

I've started a tribe in story mode some time ago, and now, after about 300 days, I have no clue about their "history". Since this kinda frustrates me, I decided to start a new story mode tribe on another save file, and post it here. This is mainly meant for me, but also for everyone who enjoys reading playthroughs. I will upload irregularly, and I can't say how long it'll take me to reach home island, or if I even manage to reach this goal. Naming ideas for any Nicheling are welcome, so are survival tips. I will also kind of create my own lore, and switch back and forth between the story and my comments. As Adam looks around on the island he dropped onto, fear rises in his chest. He's alone, all alone. There aren't any orange pelts around him, and the sounds of the pack are gone. The familiar chirping, the high, excited cries of the playing kids, the deep call of is mother - the only thing he hears are the reeds, slowly floating in the wind. His siblings, his mother and their warm, calming scent are far away. He feels uneasy, his heart beats loud and irregularly. Being alone isn't something that lies in his nature. It is against her. Adam stumbles over to the next tile, searching comfort in the familiar smell of the berries, as he falls asleep next to them. He awakes the next morning, disorientated and confused. In his dream, he was back on his island, playing under the watching eyes of the adults. His memory starts fading as he notices his hunger. He decides to pick some berries, but the task proves to be hard and tiring. Soon, he decides to sleep again. The next day, he notices a flowery port at the northern end of the island, and curiously makes his way up there. On his way he grows older, and as he sits in front of the long path of stone tiles that lead into the sea, towards a new island, a new home, he's become an adult. He puts his paw onto the first stone, and leaves his island behind him. His old island has long disappeared behind him, and as he starts to feel tired, a breeze brings a bunch of new, unfamiliar smells. His pace fastens and soon he spots an island in front of him. Then, in just a mere second, the sea begins to shake, and so the tiles he stands on. Panicked, Adam runs towards the island, while the stones behind him crumble, and start to sink into the ocean. The ground starts to slip away under his paws, and he jumps- The ground is hard, and the feeling of disorientation and fear remind him of the bird and his dreadful fall. As the pain starts to fade, Adam scrambles onto his shivering legs. He flattens his fur and decides to take a look around. It's an utter shock as his nose discovers the smell of one of his kind. He sniffs once again, this time carefully examining the smell. It's a female, about his age and she's close. Excitement and joy overwhelm him and drive his caution away. The need, the craving for a pack, for a companion is stronger than ever. The female sits still in the grass, waiting for him. Adam approaches her carefully - he has been alone for almost as long as he can remember, and he's not sure how to interact with her. It seems as if she's as alone as he is, since Adam can't find a trace of another animal. He's still kind of wary. The female's head looks strange to him, broad and heavy, not to mention her fur - a strange, shining colour, only occasionally broken by a light brown. Shy, he chirps his name as a greeting towards her. She answers immediately with her name, a deeper, softer sound - she is called Eve. Encouraged by this, Adam offers her some berries that he picked on his old island. The female curiously sniffs at them, then she begins to carefully eat one after another, obviously enjoying the new, unfamiliar taste. As the day starts to come to his end, the two of them lie down next to each other. They touch each others nose and groom the others fur, exchanging their smell in the process, getting to know each other better. I have been writing this for some time now, and I just want to post this, so here I go. Also, I try to take a more realistic approach, as you might have noticed. English isn't my native language, so my writing isn't too good.3 points

Maybe I should try a challenge too, though I have Skyrim to play and it is not like I have a lot of free time with exams coming up ^^ Honestly I don't think a challenge would help. None sound interesting enough and my mind is already busy thinking about all the cool challenges we can make with the new update.3 points

All that time better spent studying has to go somewhere. Or maybe I just enjoy the thrill of crash learning. 😅 But I've been playing more Equillinox than Niche. My first attempt wasn't great in terms of altitude and attempting the lush biome without the reward from completing all missions was really not worth it. And then Steam magically subtracted multiple hours from all games. Finished 2 playthroughs in "4 minutes". Clearly, I'm a genius.3 points

Funny. A few weeks ago I could barely touch Niche. But since I started up a new tribe (I called it “PikaPit? NOOO!!!” in reference to Smash), I’ve been addicted. But yeah, I normally couldn’t play Niche at all until a week ago.3 points

oh hey look I got mORE Red Moon - Goddess of Death Okay, just look at her. Can you tell me she doesn't suit the word "death"? Altocumulus - Goddess of Clouds In my tribe, there is a long line of creatures named after clouds and Altocumulus is one of them. When she was born, it snowed. Whenever she calls into the wild, the next day it snows. The tribe kinda made a deity based off of that and made Altocumulus the goddess of clouds. While she wasn't the first cloud-creature (a guy named Nimbostratus was the first), Altocumulus was the most important.3 points

So, I keep starting tribes in Long Winter, but they all die. In my sixth tribe, the daughter of the starters was left an orphan, and wandered along the shoreline for shells for a while, since her claw and velvet paw don't help her survive, since there aren't any bunnils. Along the way, she found a rogue, whom she mated with. She also picked up a leech. Soon, the snow melted away,a nd rabbils came out. Instead of getting food, she collected nesting material. Finally, she collected enough to make a nest, but it was her last day. Anyways, she gave birth to a little son. Then, a Balance Bear showed up. Luckily for the baby, a wanderer shoved himself in front of the baby. The bear didn't hit the wanderer, and instead got closer to the child. Unfortunately, the kid had to go get food instead of invite the wanderer in. A few days later, he froze with that same bear hovering over him. R.I.P. Anyways, tell about what other interesting things wanderers do in your tribes!2 points

I have noticed in the past, that about a month (sometimes more, sometimes less) before an update I stop playing Niche because I am so excited about the soon to be added new stuff and all of the sudden the base game bores me ^^. I think I have entered my usual hiatus right about now. The urge to play Niche has disappeared oh the horror Do you guys experience the same thing? Or do you just play through right until the update comes?2 points

I have been playing niche now for over a year but I'm not that great. But I was introduced to niche by siri the pixel biologist.2 points

At least you didn't misspell propably (and 23 other things) .Unless you're an Insomniac with major lapses of judgement, I am not too impressed. But the antlers are regretable. Astrology isn't really meaningful, but as an Aries, ram horns would have been more fitting.2 points

My Niche addiction is near its peak right now, mostly because I'm testing out new islands and giving myself a little challenge. Take my Skittles Tribe or my new First Snow Tribe, for example. But I think I am under-reacting to the new update because now that I think about it, it's AWESOME!2 points

I would like it both ways, since whenever I'm doing a Whims of Fate, I want to rename my creatures, but I can't look at the genes.2 points

District 2 is still open, eh? Why not snatch it? Female Tribute - Corrin (Yes I named her Corrin) Personality: Corrin is a brave girl that likes to protect her tribe and defend the gods. One day she fell in love with one of the god's son, Golden Eye (yes I named him Golden Eye), and had many children with him. Corrin also loves to play in water. Male Tribute - Buttercup Personality: Buttercup is a level-headed sweetheart that loves sitting under trees and smelling the roses. Just don't pick a fight with him.2 points

If this were added, I would make a nicheling with one bird wing, one bat wing, and butterfly body! XD2 points

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO READS IT Also how do you remember such background charaters? Oh wait I remember Octillo... 1 mention in the books >.<2 points

The thing is, you can actually invite her in. You just need to wait for her to die and if another one spawns there's a chance they can be invited in. That's how I once got round ears before even reaching home island lol2 points

I don't consider perfect nichelings, I love wanders with spit snout and double no paws. I love pink nichelings.. especially with short snout. Spots with pattern shape A are gorgeous, if it's a romantic love story between a rogue male and the prettiest female in the tribe, so be it!2 points

Crippled paw or blindness maybe, but I think shortsightedness isn't much of a disability. Heck I'm a bit shortsighted and though I do badly need some glasses, it's obviously not debilitating XD. But if you're going to cure them that much you might as well make them perfect XD I don't really know though, since I haven't encountered this issue.2 points

😢Please tell me I at lease get to see some of my sweet little Pokemon Nichelings again? I want to know what happened to them.1 point

Here’s a description of each nicheling who could potentially go to home island with Bostonlobstah and Adam 2.0! WE ARE DOWN TO THE FINAL ROUND. SWEETIE AND POOZIE HAVE SECURED THEIR SPOTS. IT'S UP TO YOU TO DECIDE WHO GETS THE LAST SPOT! Oasis, Velveteen II, Skippi, or Emma Jean? I can't decide ;-; But I would rather not choose Emma Jean since Sweetie looks a lot like her. The others are much more unique! But then again if you like Emma best by all means vote for her But remember folks: Whoever is left behind is bound to come to Home Island on their own time!1 point

I can’t decide whether to pick Oasis or Velveteen1 point

Are you a youtuber or something? Who are these nichelingsthat we’re voting for? Though just based on names I’d say Oasis1 point

Thanks! Oasis was my favourite after Poozie.1 point

I honestly think you should bring an albino purr snout with claw and velvet paw, fishing tail, and white horns. though I do think Oasis or Snowflake (are you going to make adam's tribe into Gods(desses) when you invite them/see them?)1 point

My Swampy Hill adventures continue. Perhaps against their better judgement, Briar and Alder have another child. Because of the hard times the tribe come upon, he is relegated to exploringthe oter edges and poison berry picking. Unable to have their final child, Alder and Briar gather poison berries as their last act. Meanwhile a rogue male, who I not so affectionately called Ketchup, is poking around camp. He doesn't go away so he is killed by Ash before he can get to anyone. The tribe has no choice but to assign alphas and omegas. Alphas are creatures with blue gems in the middle and are primarily breeding creatures. They always have useful genes such as wings and toxic genes and usually become omegas when they are done breeding. Useful gatherers with the potential to breed are all betas and they have all green gems. Omegas are non-breeders with no particularly useful genes. Their job is to explore and to pick poison berries when food supplies dwindle. Not only rain but Robin becomes an omega because she has a genetic backup in the form of her identical twin. Cypress, knowing that her last mate died before his time, takes on Burdock as a mate out of necessity. Their first child inherits his father's incredibly useful digging paw. Our resident wanderer, an odd duck as he is, finds us some much needed fish. Burdock prooves that the digging paw is a vital tool for our tribe. Cypress rejoices as her final child is born. A double winged nicheling at last! Meanwhile, rain finds a green, peacock tailed platypus in the swamps. Our tribe gets its first taste of snail. Chewy! And to end today's entry, a sad goodbye to Burdock and Cypress.1 point
