  1. I've played for basically 1200 hours on this game and never once muted the song, or put anything else over it. Sometimes I open niche just to have an ambience. I like the song

  2. PAGE 1 Mala and Ryi had fled their homes too a new island. They looked ahead to the tall grasses... Sorry about the wonky lines and shading. I realized I put the shadows on the line layer for Mala so I had to erase her lines + Shadows and redo them...

  7. OK, ok. I might not be able to update this consistently. But I will make it! It is about the Landela tribe on the first island! This is just the cover of the first part/chapter there should be 4-ish... I don't think the pages will be detailed because it took me about 15 minutes to make those teeth. Another 10 to shade. ANYWAYS my hopes is to make the story of the gods made from the tribe deeper!

  9. Swamp guy #334 That poor mismatched platypus with dots. Who looked a lot like everyone's favourite grandpa a few generations back. These two watery moms in a lone wolf challenge. Every poison fanged wanderer that would immediately die when invited. All those awful wanderers that pass on their best genes. Swamp guy #229 These are daughters of some. Propably doesn't count, but I love them. Sulphur/Sulfur and Persephone. This one hired by the Dragon Tear cloning factory. And her daughters.

  10. For a second I thought that I didn't have any pretty creatures with two ancient genes, but I just realized that the wing counts. Her name is Skye and she probably won't win, but I'm submitting her because why not A random fact about her is that she and her twin sister had twin babies on the same day

  15. Wow. The vector thrust makes things almost TOO easy. This is a basic swarm drone. A vector thruster on a bottom-heavy drone, so the thruster leads it. Reverse it to avoid crowding in the front, strafe thrust on the side responsive to their sensors. This is babytown frolics. A nine-part swarm drone; kinda weirdly easy. I'm not used to easy.

  19. You could choose an option in which you have two or more tribes in one game. Pretty much you have the option to create (and customize) two starter creatures per separate tribe. These tribes could be on separate land, and you can switch between tribes while playing the game.

  20. Dear Drone Engineers, We just released the new Racing Update on the preview branch! We need your help to test the game, report bugs and give us feedback about the new gameplay modes, so we can improve them before it goes live! This testing phase will go on for a few weeks depending on your feedback and how many bugs you'll find Please post your feedback in the discussion forum. Keep in mind that this preview build is still a work in progress, therefore I strongly recommend to back up your savefiles before downloading the preview branch. Here is where you can find the savefiles and logfiles: https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/651-please-read-this-before-posting/ Patchnotes New Features New Location: Racing Ring with three different racetracks and highscore lists New drone vs. drone tournaments: Race and Catch New training mode for tournaments New tutorial for autonomous racing Added possibility to sort drones alphabetically or by date Added text field to filter drones Added new steam workshop tag for racing drones New Drone Parts: Proximity Sensor (can detect things inside an area defined by radius and angle) Rng Gate (the rng gate has a configurable probability that the output key is activated) Vtol Thruster (vtol thrusters rotate to a target direction automatically) Afterburner (afterburners are strong thrusters that are only usable at high velocity) Position Tracker (position trackers can be used as target for the directional sensor and the vtol thruster) Reworks: Synchronized logic and sensor parts with the physic simulation Reworked the solar systems to contain less sumo rings and added racing locations. Sumo and racing test-areas are now always accessible from the drone workshop Added individually configurable detection layers for the distance sensor and proximity sensor. Added option for sensors to detect harvestable resources The laser of the distance sensor is now better visible on higher zoom levels Made the distance sensor round, so it can be rotated better Added dynamic mission objectives. For example if only 9 eggs are spawned, the mission will no longer require you to destroy 10, Removed velocity limitation for droneparts Increased upper limit of the speed sensor to 300 m/s as reaction to the unlimited velocity Keypresses are now allowed in sumo and racing test-areas to help testing the logic Importing your own drones from steam will no longer apply the downloaded flag. Changed the tournament statistics and added the option to not upload your drone Replaced some images with videos in the tutorials to make things clearer Added a confirmation dialogue when deleting a drone Bugfixes: Fixed randomly changing planet sizes on galaxymap Fixed decimal input for drone part settings Fixed scrolling of drone descriptions using mousewheel Fixed too high thruster force while playing with low fps Fixed spawn system to avoid unsolvable missions Improved drone workshop performance when working on larger drones Improved loading times of drones with factory parts Misc: Upgraded our engine to Unity 2018.3 Because this update contains new drone parts that are not yet live, the upload of sumo drones into the tournament is disabled. You can still play sumo tournaments, but the drones wont end up in the existing pool. We had to reconfigure almost every aspect of the game due to the engine upgrade, so please also test some planetary missions and things like the weapon workshop and report if anything is not working. Happy testing! Cheers, Stray Fawn Studio Here is how you can get the preview build on steam: – Open your Steam library– Right click on Nimbatus in the Steam library– Select Properties / Beta– Select the Beta tab– Select the Preview branch from the drop down – Restart Steam in case the game does not update automatically

  21. Yarr! I thought it could help to make a thread where we share our observations about the new parts I'll detail more as I get my feet wet, but here are some of my initial thoughts so far: VTOL thrusters: -Good: My new favorite part. Drones will be faster, more responsive, smaller, and smarter. -Bad: Doubly so for sumo spinners. Proximity sensors: -Good: Huge potential. Fully automated spin-free are now turrets within reach. Terrain avoidance is easier. Better formations. Smarter drones. -Bad: The lack of range is prohibitive. Afterburners -Good: High speed shenanigans. Could be weaponized with future tweaks to collision damage -Bad: Jump thrusters can mitigate the minimum speed requirement pretty easily, making that feature seem kind of pointless. -Possibly bad: spinners can spin REALLY fast now. That's as far as I've gotten so far. Thanks for the new toys!

  28. How'd I never see this? Anyways, time to add some creatures! Important Gods / Goddesses: Nuta! Nuta is the god of family, and is from my very first tribe, Mado. He doesn't do much except be pretty. He's the striped one with antlers. Taduk. Yes, that Taduk. The Taduk. Taduk is the god of mischief, originating from the Wonaar tribe. He comes into play whenever a glitch happens, as he caused the first glitch that I ever got (the infamous leech glitch of 0.2.1). You should know which one he is. Resime! Resime is the goddess of rabbils, and is also from the Wonaar tribe. If she likes a specific tribe, she will give them a lot of rabbils to hunt. Obviously, she's the one with the rabbil. Some good ol' friend ol' buddy ol' pals (yes, I forgot their names). These two are the gods of friends, and I forgot the name of their tribe (like how I forgot THEIR names). They were both 'banished' (in quotes since you couldn't really banish back then) from their packs, so they came together as friends. Lovely story, right? Haha definitely. Duknu! Duknu is the god of protection, and again I have no clue what tribe he was in (all I know about it is that the tribe's highest nicheling count was 92, the highest amount out of all my tribes!!). He fended off an ape as his tribe left the jungle, eventually sacrificing his life. He is the big-bodied nicheling with a red gem that's at the veeery top. Cavegrowl and Moonhowl! These two are the god and goddess of Bearyenas, in a tribe called BY Gene Tests. They are only deities because I liked how they looked. Cavegrowl is the one on the left while Moonhowl is on the right. Aila! Aila is the god of fishing, in the one and only ttc - Karg. Again, she doesn't do much except be pretty. She was the leader of the whole 43 member tribe. She had a sister, Iara, who was also pretty high ranking in the tribe. Raisper! (Yes, I know he has a different name in the picture) Raisper is the god of destruction, and also from ttc - Karg. He brings doom and death to the tribes. He was originally the god of the savanna, but I scratched that. He's named after a raspberry, as that is what I thought of when a saw him; a raspberry. Oh, he's also Aila's grandson! That's it for now. I'll eventually add the minor deities and the nichelings to remember, but not right now.

  36. sorry for no updates yesterday but I just didn't feel like it (also there will be no updates on the weekend ever because that's when I go to my dad's house) "wait, do you mean sprucespike is your dad?" redwood asked "y-yes. why? I just want to know where he is. im lost and alone and-" "hes… gone. he died a long time ago by the side of his mate and his children, and im one of his children. that makes us..." "sisters" the wanderer whispered, in shock at the information given to her by redwood. "well, if we're half sisters, I guess I should explain everything to you. im redwood. this is my mate, bloodmoon. we're both from widowclan. what's your name? "well, my names mossshadow. that's what my dad named me before he left me, and my mother died the day after" "before he ran away and joined our clan" bloodmoon added. "he had you and left" "why did he leave? did he ever talk to you about me, redwood?" "no... he always said he was happy to be in widowclan. that he hated his old life. that he never wanted to go back" redwood stopped talking when she saw a tear roll down mossshadow's cheek "you know, if you are truly related to my mate, you can stay with us. we're about to have our first child, and we could do with an extra hand around here" "o-ok then. I dont want to go to widowclan, if it is the place my dad left to stay in" the three new friends found a spot to eventually raise the child and started to clear out grass, making sure that things would be perfect. in the main camp, everything was normal. flamethorn and oakblaze were preparing for their next child, and greatheart was clearing more grass. bloodstripe was digging roots, and knew she would pass in a few days, which didn't upset anybody at all, including herself. she couldn't wait to meet her mate again in the afterlife- and her sister. in cloudmeadow's nest and the area surrounding, everything was also normal. her and maplestar had decided on having one last child, and raincloud was helping hazelbreeze hunt. it seemed quiet all over the island. eerily quiet. in the morning, it seemed just as quiet. except for the nest of course, which was filled with the mewing of a new baby, called stormstripe, who seemed to be just like bloodmoon in his stripes, which were barely visible on his fur, which was the same colour as his siblings. cloudmeadow and maplestar were happy with their children, and the only other thing they would have to do is choose a leader from the three- they all had home island immunity inside them, after all. at the main camp, things were calm too. a cute baby called lilyfoot was born to flamethorn and oakblaze, but the latter of her parents seemed disappointed with his child. "hm. thine child is weaker than any of these weak worms. how did this happen, from both thou godly strengths combined? she is beautiful; yet weak. like a lily, wilting in the winter cold." "well firstly, she got your lean body, and secondly, she didn't get your claw. that's how shes so weak. but I think shes cute. just like a lily." bloodstripe was growing weaker and weaker, and she new that she would pass sooner rather than later. she went to the spot her mate had been buried, and dug a grave beside it. "use this for my body, greatheart" she said. "maybe ill reach him faster that way" greatheart smiled, happy for his mother yet confused: she had always awaited her death since sprucespike died. he knew why, but he also knew that the experiences you could have on earth were better than anything you could experience in the afterlife. by the tree, willowtail was preparing to crack open her first acorn, with the help of her father. she seemed proud that she was only one who could provide acorns for the tribe since hazelmist. it was a success, and she and her sister eat acorns for the day. on the outskirts, redwood was about to have her first child. all three were busy: bloodmoon clearing the area, mossshadow gathering food, and redwood building a nest, trying to bring all of raincloud's techniques to mind. they all went to sleep, and in the morning everyone was introduced to berrypelt, they newest baby. he had gorgeous pink fur and handsome green eyes, and a very spiky body to boot. his parents were proud of him; and seemed content with this family of four (correction: im content because he has A immunity)

  41. The enabler lies with the propulsion. When the head pulls on the body, the body distorts because of the interaction of mass and force. So long as a directional force can use less energy to alter a part's orientation than it would use to alter the position, then that applied force will always alter a part's orientation first. If the body was mass-less, it would be impossible for a force to alter it's shape. So I concluded that the greater the difference between the mass of a fluid object and the force applied to it, the more the object will distend and I fooled around with a bunch of different thrust settings. It failed completely. But. I noticed that while pulling on a curved semi-fluid object reduces the curve, pushing it causes the curve to increase. Apply a pull to the top of the curve and a push at the bottom and you get a collapse at the top and a ballooning at the bottom. So. I thought if I could apply a simultaneous push and pull throughout the entire structure of the curve equally, the curve wouldn't collapse. I tested this by building a drone with segments that each contain identical amounts of thrust, causing the collective mass to resist a constant amount of pull and push. Hopefully, so long as the forces remain equal, when the craft turned the curve would be unable to collapse. Evidently, it worked. Further proof of evidence is the way the curve still collapsed near the tail; there was no longer enough push behind the curve to maintain it. I might be able to stabilize it some by adding more thrust at the very end, but in order for my conclusion to be correct, the curve near the last segment must collapse. I bear little hope the design will prove useful for anything practical, but it's really cool to watch. SCIENCE!!!!

  44. Ladies and gentlemen! I give you regenerative armor! This bad boy was designed to laugh in the face of anything short of a mamma snake, and boy does it. After taking enough damage, the outer hull will automatically repair itself. It can do this quickly enough to render it effectively impervious to weapon fire and it can withstand a hit from a hammerhead with no lasting damage to the ship. It can do this by taking advantage of light parts with high HP values, and converting the loss of signal from a button in the armor into a build order on a corresponding factory. While effective, it takes a ton of programming. The featured blasters are modified with sticky bullets, increased force, and multiple projectiles. This effect repels enemies and causes them to spin uncontrollably, negating things like a hammerhead's hard front end and preventing them from attacking. That's what I've been up to lately!
