We have so many amazing and awesome colour combinations you can make in Niche, including the patterns. However, I recently had the idea of adding more colour options, like natural greenish colours and maybe even some "tropical" colours for the pattern option ONLY. The tropical colours would be unlocked by spending 100 days on a Jungle island, and the natural colours would be unlocked by default. Greenish colours are seen by animals in real life, (e.g birds, crocodiles, snakes, insects, frogs), to help camouflage them and hide from predators and sneak up on prey. I think this would be a wonderful addition to the game, and seeing it mixed with the other colours would certainly be a fun and interesting experiment, and would be available for pattern and horn colours. "Tropical" colours, although they seem too bright for the beautiful natural selection currently in the game, are also found in nature to ward off predators, (e.g fish, birds, frogs, insects, snakes). They would only be available as pattern colours, as I do like the natural colours that Niche has at the moment, and making a super-bright tribe wouldn't really feel right. Although similar it would share a different function to Toxic Body, as having the colours would add +2 Distasteful Appearance, but NOT allow you to be immune to poison, unlike the toxic body. While we are on the topic of colours, I would love to see mixed eye colours in the game. Rarer than the generic eye colours, but having a blended eye colour of Brown and Green (hazel) would be a nice touch to the game. Another addition to eye colour would being able to have two seperate eye colours (Heterochromia Iridum) but be extremely rare. You would have to unlock it, and then you would only still have a low percentage of passing it on, even if both mutation slots on both parents had it. I'd love to hear your opinions on this, please do let me know what you think!! Have a good day/night everyone! ^,^5 points

Some of these will be added in the upcoming update. I like the port choosing idea so I recommend to make separate posts for your ideas so that people can individually vote on them Things of your ideas that will be added in the upcoming update: Only for sandbox You can choose with how much food you start with (and nesting material) You can modify the lifespans of your Nichelings at the start (though they won't live forever) All genes unlocked from the start Things that have been suggested before: Modifying spawn rates and modifying biome types2 points

I'll take your word for it, I took the stats from the wiki. I thought it sounded a bit op but I just went with it. I'll change it I was actually thinking it wouldn't affect the ears, seeing as neither of the beaks we already have in game do2 points

I'd love to see some lean bodied, double bearyena clawed parrots rule the world. That would either look really derpy or majestic, especially with mega. horns.2 points

This is a cool idea, but there are a few things I would change. I would base the ears off of something like the jackrabbit, who actually lives in a hot climate and has ears adapted for letting off heat, rather than a domestic bunny, who is adapted for a temperate climate which doesn't experience extreme heat or cold. I would also give it the same stats as the big ears. As @Veroni said, not every new part has to have better stats or new features Lop ears would be a cute cosmetic trait, but would come with no benefits and would interfere with hearing. I wouldn't mind seeing it added in the game though. It could perhaps be added in a separate gene slot so it could affect all eat types (lop ears show up in dogs, cats and goats, maybe more, as well as rabbits). It could leave the nicheling with only 1 hearing, so it would be something you'd want to breed out of your tribe I would also base the tails appearance on wild rabbits and deer, who have longer tails and more noticeable white markings on the underside of their tail and rump, instead of bunnies like the ones in @Veroni's pictures, which have pretty small tails2 points

I used this for a playthrough and decided to share it here too. Rules: You can't use the mutation menu. Never. Don't build nests! Babies can only be born inpermanests. Have fun!1 point

yeah honestly I just think my mekoko felt like murdering someone elses nichelings so she got an uber to your tribe and killed a load of them1 point
-
Mekoko tricked you into thinking she's the goddess of death. In my tribes, Mekoko is the goddess of trickery. Though now that i think about it, she led creatures to their death by tricking them. So maybe she's goddess of death and trickery? hmm....1 point

were back and were more crippled than ever (reading that joke again it sounds extremely offensive. im sorry) all of the elders were on edge. they all knew that every one of them would pass today, and that nobody with enough experience would be left to guide the tribe. they were hopeless. they would have to chose a leader from a collection of children, none of which were fit to lead a tribe. ruby seemed partial to sage, and so did dusty (she was very strong) but cherry and pine were more convinced that blueberry would make an excellent leader. there were a few arguments between the two families, until a familiar voice could be heard from the grasses: "hey guys! im back. got some food. got some grass. how are you guys doing? what did I miss?" a massive sigh of relief swept across the tribe. heather! she would be the leader. not only has she been feeding the tribe, but she learnt everything she needs to know from her father. everyone seemed embarrassed- especially ruby, who had to admit she forgot her daughter existed, and dusty, who is usually always thinking of his favourite daughter. heather didn't seem shocked that she would become leader, to the surprise of her parents "well obviously i'd be leader- look at all these tiny idiots! aww, look at you! little red panda, are you my new brother? and you must be sage! my tiny little healer sister! you've got the antlers too- i might have to make you leader when youre all grown up! and theres all the babies from the new family! a little stripy one, his big brother and little bluebell. I cant wait to lead you all to greatness!" the whole tribe was celebrating, until all the elders passed in the night. heather was devastated by the loss of her father, but knew that she needed to stay strong for her tribe- and also needed to stay strong so she can run away from the rogue male fast enough. meanwhile, maple swam across the stream when he heard a wandering nicheling in the grass. "h-hello." "hi! whats your name?" "my name is tulip" everything she said she whispered quietly, with softness echoing from her words. maple shut his eyes when he gave her food, knowing she would face the same curse as her mother. but she was fine. "w-why are you closing your eyes like that? are you scared? do you need my help?" "n-no, its just.." tulip had the realisation. "you have.. the curse.." she mumbled, quieter than ever. "I see" "oh you poor little things. where is your tribe?" as she introduced herself to the small pack, everyone was amazed. she had legs! how does someone in the tribe keep their legs? "hello, little ones! I am tulip! actually, dont call me tulip. call me petalily. I've just been sent down to deal with a little curse mekoko gave to a couple creatures for fun. she's a strange goddess, isn't she? so much power for a poor lost soul, but she abuses it so much. by the way, don't make it obvious I told you who I am, im supposed to be going around as some secret agent with "magical powers" but I think that's silly. oh, you must think im lying. well, I guess here you go." as she planted her velvet paw in the ground, tiny lilies grew around her. "there we go. im looking forward to spending some time with you all!" before she could finish her sentence, everyone was on their knees, showing upmost respect to the goddess.1 point

And here is Anaanala! @Skysplash8 I wanted to try a little harder this time so I did a full-body shot and a semi-background. I honestly think it turned out okay. Also I love how I made her look happy even though everything about her is depressing... And I tried to make her look pregnant, but uh But anyway, here you go! ^^1 point

I own both because I bought Nimbatus to support the devs but I don't play both. Not really intersted in it (also kinda worried that I might become as obsessed with it as with Niche XD )1 point

I haven't played cave story but I know hollow knight was basically one of the best games released that year according to a lot of people1 point

im assuming you put it in discussion and feedback on purpose to get peoples opinions but I would definitely make a suggestion for the fur colours and a separate suggestion for the mixing eye colours, but I think heterochromia has been suggested a lot already1 point
-
I love all of these ideas!! I've always wanted more specialized fur colours which you unlock in the mutation menu and mixing the eye colours sounds awesome as well! and all the heterochromia sounds neat!1 point

so im starting a new playthrough where there are no rules and its just cute nichelings, I haven't really felt like playing any of my other tribes so im gonna see if this helps the way im naming creatures is that im going to just mash random syllables together, if I make words which mean bad things in different languages or stuff like that its purely a coincidence so sorry we start with kinar and raron, two star-crossed lovers from an island of peace protected by petalily herself (my goddess of peace) so that nothing bad came upon any of them. the two decided to leave, still with the mindset that the whole world is peaceful, and they are about to learn that many dangers fill the outside world. "my love, we have set our first foot on this island! it shall be named kinara island after you, and our children shall live on for generations, fed by this blessed land! settle down under this tree, and we shall explore in the morning." raron was bold and romantic, and felt nothing but admiration and love for his soon-to-be mate. kinar giggled and blushed softly. in the morning exploration had begun; raron was hunting moles with great success and kinar was gathering roots she could find on the ground. there was some discussion about where their future home, but they both soon realised that where they stood was already perfect- a tree in the tidepool, a berry bush for kinar and a nearby mole burrow for raron. after a few days of food gathering away from their home, they returned to the tree to settle down. kinar had suggested having their first child, and raron seemed very excited that his mate wanted to finally start having children. kinar built her nest, and waited patiently to give birth. in the morning raron was introduced to his newest daughter, rosli, and he was very proud of her. kinar had observed that she was not very good at seeing, but neither of them seemed too concerned. there was no danger anywhere, after all. whilst kinar was busy gathering food, raron leapt into the water to see what food was down there, and kinar found the whole thing very funny: "raron, get out of there! theres nothing down there; you can stay up here and gather acorns if you want to help feed rosli" "do not fear, my love! I have discovered fish, which shall feed my sweetest rosli!" "if you say so!" when raron hopped out the water to dry himself off, a wanderer greeted him, called rereek.1 point

I agree that +2 cold resistance is too much for the medium tail, it wouldn't make sense for it to have us much/more cold resistance than the stinky tail which is all big and fluffy. I actually made a suggestion a few days ago for a bobtail which would give +2 cold resistance as well1 point

You know those flower tiles on ports leading to easy islands? Wouldn't it be fun to have them on easy islands as normal tiles? We have the clovers in mountain biome, why not have flowers in grassland? ☘️ They would not be covered in grass, but maybe they could grow around berrybushes too. These flowers wouldn't serve any other purpose than to look pretty, but it would be nice to at least have them.1 point

Okay, so cold weather can kill a nicheling, but heat can't? Makes sense. I think it's OP that hot weather is less dangerous than cold weather. I think that heatstroke should function the same as freezing. This is just a thought I had, feel free to provide in-depth feedback.1 point
