Am I doing this right? I hope so. Anyway I thought I'd share something on my first day on the Niche forums! I was doing a challenge (linked here if you wanna check it out)a little while ago that I made up, where the goal is to create a society of zebra-like nichelings with specific traits. I since have started over, but Zukvanku here was the first nicheling to look remotely close to the end goal. So of course I got excited and had to draw him! Screenshot vvv6 points

Immediately upon reaching this huge island of grass, the striped, spotted, and paternless creatures immediately get to work clearing a path through the grass and to a conjunction of two trees where their masked overlord will take their spots on the throne. While first thinking they have the island all to themselves, they quickly discover that they are not all alone. In fact, someone seems to be lurking in the grass! The tribe sends the two paternless creatures to deal with the enemy, but they soon find out that this wretched-looking wanderer is no threat at all! In fact, luckily enough, he has a mask, just like the king and queen do! He is gratefully accepted, the look of his snout quickly shoved aside. His patterns are faint, but his royalty is clear. Although his mask is not visible to most, those who look close enough can see it. (Actually, you can't. His pattern and fur are both the same color combination.) The newcomer, named Danvan, is a bit overwhelmed at the responsibility he is suddenly given. However, he gratefully accepts his lucky spot in the kingdom, and sits down by the trees of the king and queen. As he does, his gem colors change from the lowly green to a royal blue. While he does look a bit dopey next to the majesty of the king and queen, he is still royalty nontheless. While the king and queen only have 1 speed and would prefer to stay put instead of heaving their massive bodies around, the much more mobile Danvan decides to explore and expand the throne room. The rains come on day 7, as well as a surprise bearyena attack. The striped Lenlenla moves out of the way so that Rame can come over and quickly knock the inferior predator out in just two hits with the help of her 11 strength. Lenlenla collects the meat, and activities resume as normal. On day eight, while exploring near the river, Rovannu and Kirku find a spiky rogue male. They are both reluctant to attack it, but decide to hit it at least once to scare it off. Meanwhile, back at home, Rame decides to mate with Danvan to expand the royal line. Tanopri is fine with this, as he knows mating with someone with nearly the exact same genes as him will only produce inferior, useless babies. The next day, a small masked nicheling by the name of Dukduknu is born. He is much more mobile than his mother, and does not carry the snout of his father. He is somewhat strange however, as his body is not that of what the tribe has seen before. In fact, this young child has lean body instead of big or normal, due to his father having it in his recessive! Combined with the big ears, again from his father, this young child has been granted with a total of five heat resistance! Upon receiving the report of the rogue male, Tanopri lumbers over to help deal with it. He is able to greatly damage it without even getting hurt himself. Meanwhile, Rovannu and Kirku block the rogue's only exits. Day 11, the rain comes back, and with it, another threat, this being of the bluebird. Fortunatley, this young masked child is well protected by his mother and the striped civilian. And meanwhile, as they explore the territory, Tapriro and Lenraana decide to move away from a swarm of bugs. And at the end of the day, King Tanopri slays the foul rogue male, freeing the kingdom from its evil, threatening, crippled clutches. Rovannu kindly asks the king for another favor, to break the rock blocking the rest of the path along the river so that he may continue exploring, and with some help with the spotted Kirku, they convince the reluctant king to help them out. A few days later, the king breaks the rock, and Rame and Danvan give birth to a sibling for Dukduknu (who is currently off playing), who is a female this time. They decide to name the young female Lais. Lais shares the big ears and lean body, but has nimble fingers to help with cracking nuts instead of the bearyena claw Dukduknu has. The next day, Dukduknu is all grown up! Lenraana, Mila, and Tapriro, who are all nearby, are facing a bunny problem. Dukduknu, deciding the activity of hunting the small white creatures will be fun, decides to come over and help. Together, they hunt five rabbits before tiring out for the day. Meanwhile at the river, with the rock cleared away, Kirku finds a very healthy berry bush by the water's edge, plentiful in ripe berries. The next day, the group of four that includes Dukduknu collects the rest of the rabbit meat, and the meat of a freshly killed bearyena. The hunt is highly successful, raising the food amount by quite a bit. On day 15, Rovannu seems to have found a nice secluded space by the water, a little ways away from the rest of the territory. He wonders if this place could be turned into a secret hideaway for anyone feeling pressured by the responsibilities of their pattern-determined role. Update ends here! Will update again some other time.6 points

Inspired by @RandomWanderer's post! Go check it out! So I had two beautiful creatures way back in the ancient days that my dinosaur computer was alive not that long ago but whatever The first one is the goddess of rain... and her name was Rain. CREATIVEEE She had grey fur and black mask... but something was oddly specific about this mask. She had two identical small triangles on her chest, in similar placements that your two side gems would be on for an adult Nicheling. Her mask pattern also made these two black rings around her eyes, she looked very pretty! She had black eyes, big nose, grey fur, black mask, runners leg, nimble fingers, medium ears, medium body, medium tail, normal hind legs The next creature was a wanderer I found as a little one gemmed baby. Her name is Chime, and she is my goddess of peace and equality. I actually found her while doing my pattern challenge! (Yes I had made that challenge that long ago, just never got the courage to post it) She is solid black with no pattern, so she was accepted into the tribe reluctantly. She had ram horns that were black, too, along with blind eyes, crippled paw, runners leg, medium body, medium tail, big nose, medium ears, normal hind legs Note: she did not have melanism Any genes not mentioned, I guess feel free to put whatever since I can't remember what they were Good luck4 points

So yeah, as the title suggests, I am interested in taking requests to draw niechlings for you guys! Just put a screenshot of the niechling you want me to draw in the comments of this, and I will draw it. How I draw things (if you're curious) is I sketch it in my notebook, take a pic of it, send it to myself so I can put it in GIMP (a drawing application), put it in one layer, make a new layer, and use that new layer to copy the picture beneath it. It sounds suuuuper complicated, but honestly, it's a simple concept. Anyways, I will also ask that if you have a screenshot taken from a specific angle, tell me if there's anything important that the angle of the screenshot is hiding, ya know? But here's a sample of my artwork- So yeep, that's it! I look forward to drawing your nichelings!3 points

@Basil Ossen x Dragon Tear.sandbox We start off on this beautiful First Snow island! Here are our starters: (Help save Ossen's spots: https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/4353-randomize-dot-placement-button/) The two nichelings wake up on this new island that neirther of them have seen before. "Ossen, is that you?" "Yes, of course it's me. Why do you ask?" "Your spots look different..." "They do. Weird." They find a tree stuncle dump and catch a rabbil together. What is this? "I'm cold..." Misisi sounds like a female name. Is this a bug? Meralen and Misisi are a good match. That leaves Dragon Tear with one other mate option... Oh no! Little Vanno is in danger! Look what happened... Not a missclick! That's a beautiful nesting spot! Any names for Anamere?3 points

I dont want hybrids for any other animal because 1. it wouldn't make sense but whatever this is niche but also 2. I feel like if other, more interesting predators also got hybrids, they would overshadow the bearyneas even more because the hybrids seem special to them to make them feel more special3 points

I have ANOTHER, brand new goddess to add to the Pantheon! Koreme, believe it or not, is my goddess of the Jungle. A long time ago, her home on Frost Lands was not frosty at all, but in fact was a gigantic jungle of tall trees, curly grass, carnivorous plants, and of course, the Smelly fruit trees. Koreme enjoyed nothing more than to pick the smelly fruits with her nimble fingers and then proceed to creep around the jungle, her stealthy velvet paw making it more difficult to get caught by an ape. But if she ever did end up in the paws of an ape, her unique armored body would keep her safe. One day, the Smelly Fruits rebelled, sick and tired of being eaten by Koreme's tribe. Soon they were able to steal some of Bostonlobstah's magic when she wasn't looking, and they decided to use their magic to destroy Koreme's tribe. Koreme's mother was sneaking around not long after, trying to find a bit of food for her family. A smelly fruit tree caught her eye, drawing her closer. But when she reached the tree, something about the fruits looked different. When she looked around, she noticed that the warm jungle around her was darkening, and an icy chill was creeping towards her. But with her stinky tail, she knew she would be no match for the ice. But maybe Koreme could have a chance with her fluffy tail. Koreme's mother held on to the hope that her daughter would survive as she was engulfed in ice and life slipped away from her. Koreme was picking berries when the ice came to her. Snatching her up, it encased her in a block of ice. Everything darkened, and then Koreme's world went black. Koreme woke to the sound of ice breaking. She blinked and steadied her gaze on a few strange looking nichelings she had never seen before. But most surprising of all was the andscape: A"Where am I? Who are you?" She whispered in shock. "Let's get you warmed up. You must be freezing!" A huge yellow spotted nicheling adorned with wings and magnificent horns replied calmly. Koreme followed him, grateful to have a place to go, but still wondering how she got into that block of ice, and where her family could be... Koreme is special because she has J immunity, even though she came out of an ice block. She also has a velvet paw and recessive stinky tail.3 points

I wouldn't want hemophilic females to die from giving birth... Or there to be a limit to how old nichelings can be to have kids. Or there to have derp snout children as either Nicheling parent gets older.3 points

I think that used to be a thing in earlier versions of the game (mating with a wanderer not in your tribe also damages you I believe)3 points

One thing hasn't been constant for me. If the offending nicheling is not around, they either forget by the next time you're in their range, while at others, they go for someone randomly many days later. So everytime I meet an older defender, there's no way of knowing what it's up to3 points

I restarted a few times before with 9 completely random starters. Just to see if anything interesting rolls and how the new genes fit in. But no glitches so far.3 points

Several months ago I ran into an unfortunate issue where the apes could cross water... It was bad...3 points

It probably switched because the gene that was supposed to be recessive is dominant over the trait that was supposed to be dominant, so when it generated the animal it fixed the dominance to the way it should be (the way it is normally). Thus, this is not a bug, unless the gene that switched to dominant isn't supposed to be dominant. What genes were they?3 points

(for anyone wondering, I'm almost 21 and about 5'3) While trying out the new world settings for a challenge, I came up with this boy! I love his soft pastel look. Also made a lil' reindeer Made this while showing the game to some one. I ended up liking her so much that I kept her. ...and one that I made randomly just for the fun of it.3 points

-keeping recessive albinism around because of it's "history" and then going to the jungle (the tribe survived, though) -Being too proud to run away from a bearyena because this berrybush belongs to me! -Breed siblings together, get a bunch of babies that you can't really use, get a high tribe size, move to different island with the three new breeding pairs, repeat3 points
