so I saw this somewhere on a website, but the creatures had a lot of weird genes that made it hard to see so here the fur colour is white, and the pattern colour is black. (also be prepared for some really stupid random names thanks to me putting in warrior name parts into the syllables list) starting with mask pattern shape a, tiny pattern size, very thin pattern density. next is mask, pattern shape a, tiny pattern, very thin and thin density mask, pattern shape a, pattern size tiny, pattern density very thin and medium mask, pattern shape a, tiny size, pattern density very thin and thick mask, pattern shape a, tiny size, very thin and very thick density mask, pattern shape a, tiny pattern, pattern density thin and thin. mask, pattern shape a, tiny pattern, thin and medium density (im gonna stop writing the pattern and pattern shape because you can tell from the picture) tiny size, thin and thick density tiny pattern, pattern density thin and very thick tiny size, density medium and medium size tiny, density medium thick tiny size, pattern density medium and very thick tiny size, density thick and thick size tiny, density thick and very thick size tiny, density very thick very thick -to be continued- if anyone wants to request a particular pattern on a nicheling with specific genes, ask!4 points

once upon a time, several months ago,I thought this was a big number but then the Nimbatus Racing Update Giveaway came along and gave me a hundred or so comments to approve. AS I TYPED THAT I GOT ANOTHER NOTIFICATION FOR IT. has anyone else come back to the forums to find a crazy amount of notifications waiting for them??4 points

Hey, back with another challenge that I made up in a few minutes and that someone has probably already made. I don't know how to introduce posts so let's just jump into it shall we? Not My Island Challenge The goal of the Not My Island Challenge is to adapt. I know, that's basically what Niche is, but let me elaborate. You must start off on an island that is the completely wrong environment for your Nichelings. With the new sandbox settings, you must create creatures that are adapted for a certain environment and toss them into a different one. There are three levels of intensity: Easy~ Create Nichelings with some adaptions in their dominant alleles already, so you can just work to breed those in and make them adapt quickly. Moderate~ Create Nichelings that are adapted to a different environment but have recessive (or randomized) genes that will help them with their new island. You can try to breed these recessive genes out to dominant so you can adapt. Hard~ Create Nichelings that have the completely wrong genes in their dominant and recessive alleles. You must rely on unlocking mutations and breeding with wanderers to adapt. Examples, me putting animals specialized for life in water onto a Whale Island. Or creating Jungle creatures and putting them on a Snowy Mountain. The goal is to fully adapt to the island. You cannot have any of your beginning genes in your dominant or recessive alleles! So yeah that's pretty much it. I might start this challenge soon, I'll link it here as a playthrough later:4 points

So I just had to MOST WONDERFUL and NOT RAGE INDUCING IDEA EVER. I'm going to put my damage multiplier at 100x for everything but hunger damage I'm going to put albino nichelings in the jungle LETS SEE HOW THIS GOESSS!3 points

Honestly it probably would, since other than the terrible cold resistance there wouldn't be much problems. But the problem is you have to survive long enough to get cold resistant genes in lol3 points

There was a time I brought my winter nichelings to the Oasis and just never adapted. Then went for the next cold island. No challenge can predict the human capability for laziness.3 points

Sometimes I decide, sometimes I roll off here. DON'T WORRY SHE DOES She's just a bit awkward with showing affection; she was trying to focus on getting him moved to the next island. That and she's a little bit annoyed that she got killed with the apprentice he assigned her3 points

Frost Lands with the most votes closely followed by burning savannah... I think people want to see you suffer3 points

You don't need armored body though. Armored body is for the spoiled kits that only came in after the mountain update I remember the days when there were no defense option and you had to get the proper adaptation genes ^^3 points

So yeah, as the title suggests, I am interested in taking requests to draw niechlings for you guys! Just put a screenshot of the niechling you want me to draw in the comments of this, and I will draw it. How I draw things (if you're curious) is I sketch it in my notebook, take a pic of it, send it to myself so I can put it in GIMP (a drawing application), put it in one layer, make a new layer, and use that new layer to copy the picture beneath it. It sounds suuuuper complicated, but honestly, it's a simple concept. Anyways, I will also ask that if you have a screenshot taken from a specific angle, tell me if there's anything important that the angle of the screenshot is hiding, ya know? But here's a sample of my artwork- So yeep, that's it! I look forward to drawing your nichelings!2 points

Please add some sort of block with a configurable air resistance level so we can make spoiler like things on our racing drones to help us in facing in the right direction.2 points

With the new sandbox settings I decided to create an ugly little Rogue female and send her off into the world! The goal? Find a worthy husband and start a family! Well, here she is. Desata. No collecting or strength, just lookin' for love. Desata wandered and wandered. She passed by berry bushes, scared away Stagmoles and Bunnils, feeling defeated as she looked down at her crippled paws. "Maybe I should clear out some grass to attract a mate," she thought. But the only thing she attracted was a Peaceful bear. It began to rain. "Whyyy!!" Desata cried out to the rainy sky. "Gods, wherever you are, hear my plea! I NEED a HUSBAND!" That instant, her plea was answered! The sky cleared, bringing the fresh scent of a husban- Nicheling! She immediately followed the sound of his footsteps. "Hi! Hello! I'm Desata! Will you be my husband? Are you my husband from heaven?" The Nicheling seemed uncomfortable, terrified, even. So much so that he bolted away at the first sight of her! She chased him around a rock, Desata still blurting out her greeting. Eventually, he gave up and agreed to stay with her, at least for a little bit. His name was Nursur. After a few days together, Nursur began to find Desata less annoying and more endearing... in an annoying way. "Well, we're both the same, in a way. We're just wanderers looking for a home. Sure, I'll be your husband. Whatever that means." The Peaceful bear witnessed the birth of Nosankuk. After that he just... schooched off into the wilderness. Never to be seen again. Huh. As her son grew older, Nursur went away to tried to clear some more grass for the growing family. Being a single parent for a mere day, Desata was trying to teach him some valuble life skills. Nosankuk witnessed the horror of her mother whacking a Stagmole on the head with her deformed paws, managing to kill it. "You see, Nosankuk? That's how it's done!" Even though Nosankuk was born 3 days ago... he was pretty sure that wasn't how it's done. Nosankuk decided to dedicate his life to exploring and not brutalizing Stagmoles. Here's a pic of Nursur photobombing Sirale's baby photo. How rude. Nursur ventured further into the grass, and stumbled across a lovely female. Perhaps he was a little influenced by his wife, but he instantly thought she would be the perfect partner for his son. "You've got to come join us! You need to meet my son, he's about your age, yea high, you'd love him!" Kyaas agreed, they seemed friendly enough! Kyaas followed Nursur, where she hid in the tall grass while they had a pep talk. "Son, I found the perfect girl for you! Her fur is a lovely red, and she's got these great big horns!" Nosankuk gulped nervously. How was he to approach such a beautiful lady? Sirale, Nosankuk's sister, was watching this whole event unfold. "Who's that behind brother?" Suddenly, a booming voice came from behind the duo. "I am Hilus, the most beautiful female in all the land! I demand this creature here be my mate!" Nosankuk was confused at first, he turned around slowly, coming face-to-face with the most beautiful creature he had ever seen, (but that's not saying much.) She was very banana-y... in a good way. He immediately fell in love... poor Kyaas was heartbroken. After a few failed attempts, the happy couple were soon-to-be parents. They both have deformed left paws, truly a match made in heaven! Sirale was very confused. "Why is Kyaas crying?" she asked Desata. She didn't know either, she was too busy trying to make friends with Stagmoles. Desata stayed close in hopes of a grandababy, and there she was! Little Asme was born, just as banana-y as her mother. Although, everyone just sort of... left Kyaas to her own devices. She just picked berries, muttering about how she was the only one who did any work around here. Oh well, more food for us! Meanwhile, Sirale found a little lost baby named Lussi. She didn't see very well, but they became fast friends. As his parents aged, Nosankuk found himself in charge of their growing territory, making sure everyone (except maybe Kyass) was safe and accounted for. As he was surveying the territory, he heard a splashing sound coming from the river. He spotted a Nicheling named Kutavan trying in vain to catch some fish. They were slipping right through his nimble fingers. "Get outta here, dude! Those are our fish!" Kutavan turned around with a sly grin. "Oh? You aren't catching them. Is that female yours too? You seem to have left the poor lady alone." He gestured with his nimble finger toward Kyaas, where they could just see her ears poking above the grass. "Umm... no, you can have her." Nosankuk looked away awkwardly. Kyaas had finally found love with the sly wanderer! If you ask me, she looks as happy as can be. Hilus also gave birth to a cookie-looking baby that she named Ellela. A new addition! Eugh.. truly the face only a mother could love. It started raining and that Stagmole spawned all on the day of his birth. Kyaas named him Kuman and fawned over his lovely pink mane. After the passing of Desata, Nursur was heartbroken. He continued to explore with with his daughter Asme and her friend Lussi. They stayed near him when the end came and promised to explore as much as they could in his memory. Bonus screenshots of Nursur sniffing the camera.2 points

I'm trying to do my challenge, which you can find right here! I'm doing the hard version, where I completely rely on mutations and wanderer genes only to try to adapt to my environment. Wish me luck please 😓 We begin with, from left to right, Zatala, Anamera, and Zerolur. Jungle creatures, who have stumbled onto the wrong island. Spots for camouflage, toxic body and stinky tails to ward of predators, velvet paws to tiptoe across the jungle floor. Zerolur even has bird beak to help him pick at termites from their mounds, and a lean body to help him stay cool in the heat (completely forgot that big ears could've also been added, oops). But none of these helpful jungle genes will do them good in the freezing snow. Hesitantly they begin to explore. help me please Okay well apparently termite mounds occur on snow islands. Guess Zerolur's beak just became way more handy. He slurps some up and mates with Anamera, who quickly settles down in a nest. Zatala manages to snag a rabbil. So far so good, but there seems to be something rustling in the grass... Anamera gives birth to her first child, a bearyena headed male named Tano. Unfortunately he inherits his father's lean body, but overall he isn't so bad. Zerolur and Zatala focus on providing food for the small group, but they are eyeing each other through the grass blades. They mate the next day, and Anamera takes her first step onto the hard ground of the snow island. It feels unfamiliar and foreboding under her paws, yet she chooses to stay. It is her new home and she'll have to get used to it. Zatala gives birth to a beautiful son, Vankirkir, that has her tortoiseshell markings. He also sports a purr snout and luckily, medium body. I can tell he'll come to his tribe's aid later, healing them after attacks or hunger pangs. Two days later Zatala gives birth to twins, boys named Twizzler and Tango. They are nearly the same, except Tango has some antennae. Anamera also gives birth to a boy named Strawberry (so many boys oh god) and Zerolur continues to harvest termites and guard his children. Tragedy strikes. Zatala is attacked by a rogue male when trying to pick berries and becomes pregnant. Zerolur chases the male off, but he doesn't go very far. Twizzler and Tango watch in shock as the sudden scene plays out in front of them. Vankirkir however finds a new face skittering across the roots of a nearby acorn Tree. A lovely female his age, Ladybug. Unfortuantely she is quite slow and shows hints of aquatic ancestry, but Vankirkir could care less. Risking the growing group's food stores, he invites her into the tribe. Cold suddenly descends on the tribe, chilling Anamera to her bones. Tango and Vankirkir quickly jump to her side, warming her up. Twizzler meanwhile investigates his half-brother Strawberry, a red and pink strange looking fella. The two play-wrestle while Zatala's rogue attacker lurks nearby. The rogue's son, born a day or two before, has been tossed into the sea by Zerolur himself. He had twittered in satisfaction as the infant sank below the surface. Chaos. A mother bearyena and her cub pass by, leaving bleeding claw marks on Zerolur's and Zatala's hides. Tano, now grown and an excellent food provider, spots a bluebird up ahead. The weather grows colder. But the tribe isn't doomed yet. Tango, Strawberry, and Tano work together to bring the mother bearyena down. The bearyena cub scuttles away, and fortunately the rogue male dives into the sea, seemingly searching for his drowning son. Hopefully he drowns in the process am I right Soon it will begin to snow, and the tribe knows it. They huddle together, providing each other warmth and company. Strawberry and his other half-brother Tango settle next to a vulnerable Anamera and prepare for the first snowflakes to fall. The others try desperately to gather food for the coming freezing days. And sadly, Zatala's rogue son joins the crabbits and seaweed in a watery grave... honestly I feel so bad I've never purposefully killed a nicheling That's part one for now! Hopefully things look up next time, but that doesn't seem likely...2 points

Vankirvan is my main nicheling OC, and really the only Nicheling I've gotten really attached to (so far). In the beginning I didn't have the game though; I had created him by studying the genes of the game and drawing him from there, and so, I made a backstory (which has changed quite a lot by now). He has a missing medium tail, since he was attacked by a bearyena as a child. He was rescued and raised by all his older siblings until he was healthy once more, and by then he had developed a hatred for bearyenas. His tribe later found a baby bearyena, which Vankirvan tried to lead away and loose among the grasses. But his only younger sibling, Tarela, caught him and brought the bearyena back. Vankirvan watched as it grew, growing more fearful of it by the day even though his siblings always made sure it stayed away from him. But his fear turned to dread when he realized Tarela had fallen in love with Don (the bearyena) and was expecting his baby. The baby was born, a male named Clawduk, with a monstrous bearyena face. And things only grew worse after Vankirvan and Clawduk were swept away from their island during a storm and washed up in a jungle a few islands away. Now Vankirvan must raise his sister's monster baby and get them both out of the danger-filled jungle alive... I was thinking of making a comic about Vankirvan's full story, what do you think? Anyways, here's the first version of him. His horns, poison fangs, medium ears, hind legs, and lean body have never changed. Mind you this was back when there were only stripes and panda pattern for markings. (2016) This next version of him was created after the new pattern system came out. I didn't know how they worked so I just drew whatever pattern came to mind. This version of him also has a runner leg and a velvet paw, just like his next one. (2017) These next two versions are final, current versions, mostly the first one since he has his runner leg and velvet paw. For some reason I gave the most recent one a nimble fingers and a runner leg. I like his tenrec-like face in the 2017 one, but I think I drew his body better in the 2018 version. (2017) (2018) And I was originally going to try and create him through breeding, but with this new update I can MAKE HIM! So I did, and I finally have him IN MY GAME!2 points

Just basically have enough Nichelings to be in groups of three and you should be fine, even with lean body pretty much. And like you said, the other way around would be more difficult, since you can't really do anything to prevent your creatures from overheating2 points

So I think the spawn rates are way to high. No three days go by without me finding at least one wanderer. It is insane. (I bet it is related to the longer lifespans but still) it is almost so annyoing that I kinda want to not have them in my game at all, but that would make it to hard geneticly. Next point all the wanderers I encounter are either teens, children or babies, Nothing older than that has ever appeared since 1.1.7 (and it seems like they all land in the first gen in the family tree again)2 points

Sirale seems to have a knack for finding wanderers. She was in the grass catching Bunnils, and this guy came in and stole the meat! He wandered off and Sirale never saw him again. On the same turn, Kutavan found someone equally peculiar! The blind Lakya stumbled out of the bushes. She picked some berries and pretended that Kutavan wasn't there. After some convincing, he managed to lead the blind lady over to a berry bush of her own she could pick from. Kutavan hastily looked over at his mate Kyass. Perhaps, if she was far enough away... hmm... Lussi and Asme, still mourning the death of their grandpa, continued exploring along the beach. There they found another friend to join them on their journey! Her name was Lare. She was stunned by a coconut for a bit, but soon she joined them on their adventure, digging up roots. Hilus and Nosankuk expanded their family line once again, with a little bumblebee baby named Issanas. "Uhh, where are all the boys?" Nosankuk asked, looking around. "Not to fear!" boomed Hilus, "I shall CREATE a boy!" (maybe that's Hilus language for "let's try one more time cuz I'm getting old?") Now, I bet you're all at the edges of your seats wondering what's going on with Kutavan and Kyaas. Let's check in on them! Aw... well, that's cute. A little baby named Isisla. No unfaithfulness here! ...well. I mean, Lakya is the victim in all this! She's just a little blind lady, the prey of a sly womanizer! She can't see anyway, so it's not like she knows what he looks like. He set her up away from Kyaas, in a nest by the river. Kutavan, with his sly grin, was sure nobody would find out! Kutavan took a look at the nest of his unfaithful love affair. "HOLY MOTHER-" "What? Is there something wrong with the baby? Oh no!" "Uhh, no! She's fine! Just... not what I was expecting." Kutavan kept looking nervously over at his other family. And so, the birth of Litame the cat baby. With her heightened sense of smell and hearing, she knew something was wrong when she heard the sound of splashing in the creek. Lakya rushed over (as fast as a blind lady could) and stuck her paws in the water, a cold, wet creature climbing up into them and whimpering pitifully. By smell, she knew it wasn't her daughter, but she held him in her wing and licked him dry, setting him down beside her daughter. What horrible mother would dump their baby in the water to drown?! "I will name you Primir! You are not my son by blood, but I will love you like you are." (And it looks like Kutavan died of shock in the background...) As soon as Litame opened her eyes, she saw the little creature next to her. Even though he had some big claws, he was shivering and coughing. This upset the little baby, she knew she had to do something to help him! The derpsnouted family continued clearing the grass, Kyaas blisfully unaware of Kutavan's unfaithfulness, she nuzzled her son and daughter goodbye. And around the island, there were other passings, too... Nosankuk stopped to chat with his little sister on the last few days of his life, collecting berries and clearing glass together. (Maybe I should choose a new leader? But there isn't anyone really worthy yet...) Litame took a deep breath, and did the thing she was born to do! She let out a big purr, and Primir could feel his weakness fading away! The Peaceful bear came back for a family photo, too. Maybe Litame should be the new leader?2 points

Continuing on with the Whims, Perdi and Rajia have passed away leaving their Granddaughter Rose as the new Leader. Tribe size goes up to 19. Hairless and Lata have had a second child. A son with his father's face and grandmother's paws. Same beautiful fur and eyes as his sister. He is called Courage! I wasn't sure about Lata at first but these have been amazing babies so far. We have had a Baby boom! First is Hairless and Lata's third child. A son with his mother's face and siblings coloring. He unfortunately also got his mother's paw deformity on one paw. He is called Kuno. Next are Echo's children, Koko's Daughter Peach is identical to her sister except for coloring. Finally is Ista's daughter who is awesome, but sickly. Nami has Ram horn's and Water Body. It may be worth it to bread her with her cousin Courage. Ugg, Koko is attacked by an ugly Rouge. We couldn't get rid of him cause a Peaceful bear is around and I don't want to see him unpeaceful... On a brighter note, Hairless and Lata have had another son. This one very different in coloring, but still awesome looking. He is named Bramble. Ista has gone off and mated with a Stinky tailed wanderer. Rose and Sol decide to mate. Rose gets mask from the whims and Pattern density Very Thick from me. Sol gets Red ful from the whims and Diging paw from me.2 points

My Goddess from my gameplays is Rala Rain. I suppose she is the Goddess of Health and Harvest because on the day she was born it started to rain, thus keeping my tribe well fed. This thread compelled me to recreate her in the 1.1.7 preview, and I'm quite happy with the way she turned out. Also, she was the first in the Adam Family to be born with pure white horns. And yes, she's a direct descendant of Adam and has gorgeous eyes and a really adorable pattern. I often give my Nichelings a family name, so all her siblings and children have the Rain clan name. Some other notable names in the family were: Berry (a resourceful and helpful part of the family), Randal (Bearyena hybrid descendants), Rain-Racco (The Racco family has very distinguishable patterns from the rest of the tribe and they interbred with the prominent Rain family). The bottom picture is her from my gameplays haha!2 points

So I'm going to make a playthrough series where you can watch Bostonlobstah drive her tribes into starvation and extinction. Please vote above to see which island I should go to first! Whale Island, Rainforest and Grass Mingle are not included because 1. Whale Island is not as much a challenge for me 2. I already have the Skittles 3. Grass Mingle is basically the same as Grass Adventure but I might add it back into the poll if I can My only rules are 1. You CAN edit the starters but not to the extremes. For example, I could give my Frost Lands starters digging paw + claw and fluffy tail, but no heat body, digging truck, mega horns and bearyena claws 2. Literally just don't die1 point
