  2. These are genes that we started implementing, but didn't really make it into the game in the end. Triceratops Shield was planned to be a prehistoric gene, but the head model looked super weird And I don't even remember what the problem with Snow Body was.

  3. Drawing of one of my favorite Nichelings in my longest save file. Her name is Anamere and you can see her on my profile in the background picture, next to her now-grown son Tavankir, who I'm also very fond of. I love Bearyena genes because they make my Nichelings look like hyenas, which I love.

  5. So I was just going to edit some flowers on her, but I used a too small version of the screenshot and instead of starting over, I made it bigger and had to redo a large part of the image because I ruined the quality... Right after size increase (tail has already been fixed): The whole thing after it's been fixed: Final version:

  7. The colors of the toxic body are completly random and not connected to a gene, that's why it's not displayed correcty. Not sure if we can add an option for that, will check with the programers during the next Niche week ^^ (Which is most likely the first week of April.)

  12. Moved to Niche Bugs. And welcome to the forums! I haven't noticed, but I do know that I got a green toxic body once when I randomized all the genes and put the creature onto an island. Hey @Philo, is this supposed to happen? I doubt it. By the way, it would be nice to have a button that lets you choose which color you want the toxic body to be

  15. A tribe where their roles are based off of the seven sins. There are (of course) seven roles: Pride: Those born of Pride will lead this tribe, always being the first to move and act of the tribe. They make rash decisions to prove that they are better than those they consider below them. Those in the Pride Faction are considered beautiful and it isnโ€™t uncommon that they will scorn children that do not fit their criteria. Greed: As soon as they are able to walk, they will always seek out objects to add to their ever-growing collection. They will take anything and everything, including grass, fruits, and maybe live creatures. Of course they canโ€™t add live creatures, but whoโ€™s to say that they wonโ€™t try to kill them to get them to stop moving? Those who belong in the Greed Faction are useful for clearing out islands. Lust: They constantly seek for others to breed with, regardless of who they are. As soon as they give birth, they give not a glance to their spawn before seeking something to procreate with. The creatures of the Lust Faction are responsible for giving birth to much of the tribeโ€™s population. Envy: Perhaps they were tossed aside by their prideful parents. Perhaps they were a spawn of lustlings or were constantly pushed around by the those belonging to Wrath. Whatever the case is, they detest and are jealous of their tribemates, itching to do something amazing to prove they are better than their tribemates. Even if that costs them their lives. It is not uncommon for nichelings to start up in the Envy Faction. Envyers commonly get moved into other ranks though some are to stay forever. Gluttony: They love to feast and try to eat everything their islands have to offer. Because of this, they spends their days picking bushes clean and trying to collect as much meat and acorns as they can. Creatures who belong to the Gluttony Faction are responsible for the food supply. Wrath: They fester with fury and hatred, destroying everything in their path, even if they are weak themselves. They wonโ€™t rest until their targets are destroyed. Despite their famous hot-temper, those in the Wrath Faction are heavily depended upon for protection. Sloth: There is no faction more useless than the Sloth Faction. They are absolutely useless, doing nothing but lazing in the sun or relaxing at the beach or springs. Sometimes, they stubbornly stay in nests or in one spot, absolutely refusing to move despite the prodding the endure. As infuriating and useless they are, they are the best candidates to distract predators and shielding tribemates. They always move last. Childrenโ€™s roles can be decided either manually or by number generator. Itโ€™s up to you. When assigned to their faction, they must act according to the description. [Playthrough] Coming Soon...

  16. So I saw Aetherskye do this, so uh, credit to her for the idea. Refi, The God Of Family And Raccoons Time. Prince, The God Of Raccoons. Princess, Goddess Of Kindness. Rakila (I forgot her name and have no screenshots with her name) The Goddess Of (Minor) Beauty And Doe's. Orca/Rera And Whale/Rera Goddesses Of Twins. Rais, Goddess Of Grass Clearing. I mean, she deserves it. Her whole entire life was dedicated to clearing grass. No children at all, just grass. Hey Meringue, you have a friend! Cashe The Goddess Of Sickness. Wasn't Meringue sick with D immunity? If so, Cashe could breed with Meringue because she's sick with B. Dukduk, The God Of Trees. I will make a female that represents my Goddess of beauty. Her name was, I forget. That isn't her name, but I'll find her name soon. She was beautiful. Her line is still beautiful on the save I have her on. In fact, she was on the same save Dukduk is. 0.1.5 I think. Mishin, The God Of Hunting.

  21. Vankirvan is my main nicheling OC, and really the only Nicheling I've gotten really attached to (so far). In the beginning I didn't have the game though; I had created him by studying the genes of the game and drawing him from there, and so, I made a backstory (which has changed quite a lot by now). He has a missing medium tail, since he was attacked by a bearyena as a child. He was rescued and raised by all his older siblings until he was healthy once more, and by then he had developed a hatred for bearyenas. His tribe later found a baby bearyena, which Vankirvan tried to lead away and loose among the grasses. But his only younger sibling, Tarela, caught him and brought the bearyena back. Vankirvan watched as it grew, growing more fearful of it by the day even though his siblings always made sure it stayed away from him. But his fear turned to dread when he realized Tarela had fallen in love with Don (the bearyena) and was expecting his baby. The baby was born, a male named Clawduk, with a monstrous bearyena face. And things only grew worse after Vankirvan and Clawduk were swept away from their island during a storm and washed up in a jungle a few islands away. Now Vankirvan must raise his sister's monster baby and get them both out of the danger-filled jungle alive... I was thinking of making a comic about Vankirvan's full story, what do you think? Anyways, here's the first version of him. His horns, poison fangs, medium ears, hind legs, and lean body have never changed. Mind you this was back when there were only stripes and panda pattern for markings. (2016) This next version of him was created after the new pattern system came out. I didn't know how they worked so I just drew whatever pattern came to mind. This version of him also has a runner leg and a velvet paw, just like his next one. (2017) These next two versions are final, current versions, mostly the first one since he has his runner leg and velvet paw. For some reason I gave the most recent one a nimble fingers and a runner leg. I like his tenrec-like face in the 2017 one, but I think I drew his body better in the 2018 version. (2017) (2018) And I was originally going to try and create him through breeding, but with this new update I can MAKE HIM! So I did, and I finally have him IN MY GAME!

  22. And that's why my Gods and Goddesses don't ever have backstory's. Maybe if they had some disaster happen during their life. But most of my tribes are all quiet and don't have lots of story.

  23. The father Bearyena was repelled, but the mother was having none of this. She knows that the Peaceful Bear is just a big sissy. There's the daddy. He's still being a wuss. Meanwhile, more children are born. The tribe is growing fast, and with the food so low, the tribe may starve at any moment. The mother Bearyena is finally dead. We tame the child. Meanwhile, an ice block is spotted not far away. But first, Daddy Bearyena wants custody of his now teenage son. And a poor wanderer is caught in the middle of it all. Daddy is promptly killed, but before our tribe can eat the delicious meat, that wanderer promptly steals our food! "HEY!" Riperella yells. "We needed that! Our tribe's about to starve to death!" We invite her in anyway. The next day, Mr. Rippenpeace and Riperella pass away. Riperella's bones bless the nest where sleeps her last baby. A little seer for the tribe. Finally, some scouts reach ice block and find...a toxic bodied, transgender female nicheling named Lianare. I accidentally poison a child. :,( She looks like her poison-fanged mother, okay!? Another Bearyena comes. He is here to avenge the deaths of his friends!

  25. Nah, sorry, I'm somewhat sleep deprived and thought you were actually looking for strong bear. Try: v thick medium, huge big/medium Thick medium, big Her pattern's somewhat generic on the head. Perfect tail spacing is the harder part, but it should be somewhere around these. Generic patterns are in family patterns, so you only need to mess around a little. It could also have a mirror on the low density end, but that depends on thr colours you want. Can't help with these as I am bad at deducing them from screenshots/photos. Chestnut/beige with unknown, redish pattern... red/brown looks too strong, a weaker option, well, too weak.

  30. I know that there are other suggestions for family tree improvements, and here are links to all of them: https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/594-family-tree/ https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/2466-show-lifespan-in-family-tree-view/ https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/2486-show-islands-in-family-tree/ https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/2512-static-family-tree/ https://strayfawnstudio.com/community/index.php?/topic/2537-highlight-compatible-immunity-in-family-tree/ This idea contains all of them and more here in this picture (no I did not make it compatible with my creature creator on purpose *cough cough*): So starting at the top, we have the static button. For more information, you can view to original link, but the reset button is my idea. When creatures are erased from the family tree, the family tree leaves their space open and with the static feature, this can get annoying for some. The reset button allows for your family tree to reset as if you exited the game and came back so everything is in an orderly fashion. Next, there are the "P" and "G" buttons. The buttons stand for phenotype and genotype which lets you toggle what you can see. In this picture, the genotype button is deactivated which means you can no longer see the genotype both in and out of the family tree. Below that, there's a lifespan bar. The lifespan bar tells you exactly what you think it tells you. You can hover over it for the same information you would get from hovering over it outside of the family tree. If the creature is dead like the one above, you will still be able to see their lifespan bar along with any damage they had when they died. You will also either be able to see how many days they have left or their cause of death depending on if they are still alive or not. The numbers on the left side of the screen are blocks for both the endless family tree idea and the island family tree idea. The blocks can either be automatic and save all creatures for a set number of generations (which can be by island if you choose to do so) or be set up for you to save your current family tree at any time. In the case of the automatic saves, a notification will let you know when you have filled all of your slots and ask you if you want to overwrite your top block for the next slot. At the bottom of the screen, you will notice two gene filters. The top filter will filter in blue whilst the bottom filter will filter in yellow. You may notice that there are no creatures that are yellow, but there are instead green creatures. This is because the two filters will work together meaning that if a creature has both traits, then the creature will appear green rather than yellow or blue. You may also notice that some creatures are a lighter shade of blue than normal and that the bottom green is also different than the rest. This is because the lighter shade of blue represents creatures who are homozygous for the trait in order to distinguish between heterozygous creatures. The different green reflects this as that is the only creature that is homozygous in both traits. A more subtle difference is that on the family tree itself is that creatures are outlined in different colors. There are five different colors: black, white, green, yellow, and red. Black represents that the creature is dead. White represents that the creature is alive. Green represents that the creature is compatible based on immunity and is toggleable via the button in the bottom right-hand corner of the tree (when clicked on again, it will turn gray and will not show any green, yellow, or red outlines) (after-thought, maybe clicking on the button again will show yellow and red outlines for one compatible gene and no compatible genes. Let me know if you think this should be all in one or if they should be separated out). Note that the black and white outlines are only present when the gene filter is being used due to there being no way of telling who is alive or dead when it is currently being used. Also note that only creatures of the opposite sex to the selected creature will have green, yellow, and red outlines. You will also notice a small lifespan bar above each creature as well as three dots to represent gems. The small lifespan bar will appear exactly how it appears in-game currently. The gem dots will change colors according to what they are set to as well. Finally, I propose some new filters: There are now three new icons: a creature, a clock, and a DNA icon. The creature will show the ages of creatures. The clock will show how much time a creature has left. (Sorry for the creature and clock icons, I didn't have any ideas for what they should be.) Below I will explain the DNA icon in more detail: As you can see, it is found under the attributes filter with a different color. The different coloration indicates that it does not show numbers but rather letters. You will see two O's for this creature representing offspring and a "P" for partner. Other letter codes include "F" for father, "M" for mother, "A" for aunt, "U" for uncle, "S" for sibling, "H" for half-sibling, "C" for 1st cousin, and "N" for niece or nephew. Everyone who is not related in these ways will not have a letter and will remain a face. This creature was a wanderer, so she does not have much.

  31. If it cannot collect food on land, then maybe allow it to collect food under the sea. Like krill, kelp, algae, seaweed, plankton... that's all edible to some fish and mammals.

Again sorry to bug you~ Edit: It's not working, could I please have some help?? I've been doing some of the things people have suggested and it won't work. I don't understand if it was something I did wrong when updating it I don't know. If anyone has ideas/tips or tricks to fix the loading screen problem could you ermm tell me? 38. When it has 0 strength it ends up having a very low chance to deal damage, but is still possible. Is the icon orange when you attack? This is the same sort of thing like when you try to crack open a nut with 0 cracking ability, or try to dig with 0 digging skill. There IS a chance you succeed, but its random and very low.

  47. ok, well I have a perfect jungle creature. I came up with this on the archipelago whilst preparing for the jungle/swamp, and it can reliably stop any ape attacks as long as you dont step on twigs and lick off stinky fruit juice. -big ears (this provides heat resistance) -any snout is cool but make sure to have 2 smelling (I used purrsnot, sometimes apes will get too hungry and attack so this helps heal creatures just in case) -double velvet paw -stinky tail -toxic body -if you can, get megaloceros horns so you can crack open carnivorous plants -also if you wanna go really overkill, get spots to add camoflauge (this probably serves no purpose because this build is focused on distasteful appearance, but whatever) that's it! if I missed out ant gene slots, that means you can go wild with it
