Wow uh, my first post on this forum. yay? Anyway, this playthrough uses some settings called "POLLYANNA," after the Mother/Earthbound Beginnings song. I've put together all of the rules so far on a .txt file, but instead of attaching it, I've just copy-pasted it here. Feel free to use the rules for one of your own playthroughs. POLLYANNA Sandbox Mode Begun 3/18/19 Settings: These gem colors are to be used: #4FEE5D (default green) #F47D3D (default orange) #71CAFF (default blue) #F8B4E2 (default pink) #FFEF6B (default yellow) #E73D49 (red) #FDBE48 (gold) #BEEE4F (lime) #8BF2DC (cyan) #B685DE (purple) #FFFFF1 (white) #B5BBB3 (light gray) #5E6665 (dark gray) #E9CCBE (seashell) #B1613A (brown) Creatures are babies for 2 days, children for 4 days, teens for 6 days, and adults for 25 days. Pregnancy lasts 3 days. All damage/healing multipliers are x2, except for enemy damage, which is x3. The clan starts with 35 food and 15 nesting material. Starting Creatures: You start with the following three creatures: TIKO - "Tiko" Female, 14 days Tiko starts as a rankless animal with light gray gems. Her forbidden genes are nopaw, all hybrid genes, derp snout, all wings, and scorpion tail. Her starting genes are 1 normal sight, 1 poison fangs, 1 lean body, 1 white fur, no albino and no melanism, 1 normal fertility, and A/B immunity. NIVAN - "Nivan," Male, 14 days Nivan starts as a rankless animal with light gray gems. His forbidden genes are nopaw, all hybrid genes, derp snout, peacock tail, and red fur. His starting genes are 1 normal sight, 1 lean body, 1 claw, no albino and no melanism, 1 spots pattern, 1 normal fertility, and C/D immunity. MEELKI - "Meelki," random gender, 3 days Meelki starts as a Moonseer with light gray/seashell/light gray gems. Its forbidden genes are all hybrid genes, derp snout, all wings, yellow fur, gills, and water body. Its starting genes are 1 big ears, 1 normal sight, 1 nopaw, 1 albino, 1 no albino, no melanism, 1 black fur, 1 no pattern, and 1 normal fertility. Rules: Gem colors are this: 1st is mother's rank, 2nd is creature's rank, 3rd is father's rank The ranks of the tribe are these: MOONSEER - Color: Seashell Moonseers are an alpha rank. Creatures guide the clans' efforts to survive, and receive prophecies and omens. HUNTER - Color: Red Hunters are a beta rank. Creatures hunt and defend the clan. They are usually strong. FORAGER - Color: Gold Foragers are a beta rank. Creatures gather food like berries and worms, and also explore. They are usually skilled. EXPLORER - Color: Lime Explorers are a beta rank. They are specialized for travel, and creatures can move quickly over great distances. They are usually skilled swimmers or are able to fly. CARER - Color: Cyan Carers are a beta rank. They watch over the clan. Creatures keep babies safe, heal other creatures, and keep things tidy. They are also tell stories. DOUBTFUL - Color: Purple Doubtfuls are an omega rank. They are creatures who have not yet proven their loyalty or who are likely to be expelled from the clan when times get tough. Invited creatures start out as Doubtfuls. ELDER - Color: Brown Elders are an omega rank. They are creatures who are elderly or very ill, or who have retired. Unlike Doubtfuls, they are treated kindly. A special ceremony celebrating their lives is held when they die or have to be left behind. RANKLESS - Color: Light Gray Rankless creatures are beta rank. They are exclusively children who have not received a rank yet. All creatures are extremely frightened of Bearyenas. Hybrids are not allowed unless the Moonseer decides that a cub can be accepted into the clan. Only one full Moonseer can be in power. Moonseers who are not fully trained are beta rank. All creatures are born with a randomly-generated name and no rank. When they become a teen, they gain their rank, and when they become an adult they earn their adult name. Goal/Story: Long ago, an early Moonseer's actions made her legend. Her name is Pollyanna, and she had white/beige fur, one claw paw, no horns, and a fluffy tail. She had pure white spots. I wish to breed a nicheling like her. Pollyanna's memory laid the foundation for future Moonseers, and she is honored every full moon. Also, because of her, spotted or pale-furred nichelings are favored, especially when deciding the future Moonseer. Finally, I want to conquer the starting island and make sure this clan is long-lived. "You can call me Pollyanna "Say I'm crazy as a loon "I believe in silver linings "And that's why I believe in you." (Pollyanna, sung by Catherine Warwick)5 points

I'd like you too: 1. Give her a save, but make OP creatures and put them in the right biome. see if she can mess that up. (Ramp up berry count an nesting material) 2 Make terrible nichelings and put them in the wrong biome. See if she survives...5 points

I let my cousin (7 at the time) play niche, with my help to make sure they don't all die. These are some screenshots from that. (I helped name some of them, too) And here's the save! She told me to play it even though she's not here and to tell her what happened next time she came over to my house. Still haven't played it yet. Slot2.nichesave4 points

This is connected to the thread Lands Lost to Time . (This is to make things a wee bit more organized) @Skysplash8 The current ruler of the Grasslands, but he probably doesn't realize it, is Pidgeon who is played by Skysplash8. Wolverine's steal fish from the Navarre Pond @Brokenshock and are generally a dangerous nuisance. They also eat the rabbils which is a food source for many non berry pickers in the grasslands. Inside a hollow of the Ancient Oaktree is the long lost crown of the grasslands rulers made of petrified wood and petrified acorns. Sometimes an owl-like creature will nest in the hollow when a chipmunk or squirrel isn't using it.3 points

This thread is connected to Lands Lost to Time. (This is to make things a wee bit more organized) @Aetherskye The current ruler of the Savanna is Queen Mable who is played by Aetherskye. At one of the few, or even only watering holes this critter and their family is being very territorial and not allowing others to get a drink. It may also have had something to do with the death of a previous leader or two.3 points

This is the story of Grandmother, the creator of all (my) nichelings, and how she created the world and stuff like that. Let's begin! (Argh! My setting is all messed up!) Okay, now that everything's fixed, here are my starters. Grandmother and the Embodiment of Purity / The First Nichelings, Anare (Female) and Dukvan (Male) It's Grandmother's job to make sure these two don't die instantly, so she'd better get to work. Sadly though, the only thing she can do is dig, so we've got a rough start. The game even teases us with rain, how rude! Ah well, we have plenty of food to last us until the little ones grow up (10 days) so we'll just pathetically flail at this bush until that happens. Well, looks like Grandmother found a bit of imperfection in her world. She names this wanderer Glblooth, and decides to care for it. The creature then thanks her in the only way it knows how... by giving her a cold. We'll call this little one the Embodiment of Imperfection / Spreader of Illness. Adorable. I then noticed that I messed up the age settings again, so I sent everyone off to a different world. I also improved (if you can call it that) Glblooth, so he fits his role better. He was originally a wanderer with random genes, so I made his genes more random! (I'm pretty good at making nichelings that seem randomly spawned, I made Grandmother from scratch!) And we finally found roots, so it looks like we've got a good start this time! Though, we don't have any renewable food sources within reach, so perhaps this isn't as good as I originally thought. Well, that's really all I can do for now... I'll bring more updates in the future!3 points

sometimes I play niche with my 15 year old sister, and last time she made a naming system where the breeding male was always called adam (adam II, then adam III, ect.) and that applied to every other creature (I think gatherers were called kate or something) because she couldn't be bothered to name them. honestly, I think she understood it pretty quickly because she knows genetics and stuff better than most people do also my dad had a save once and I was so jealous of him, all of his creatures were gorgeous and none of them died3 points

This thread is connected to Lands Lost to Time. (This is to make things a wee bit more organized) @Brokenshock The current leader of the Lagoon Pod is Junebug who is played by Brokenshock. Some Moray eels have been laying eggs somewhere in the lagoon. Pirate's of the past left treasure somewhere buried beneath the lagoon.3 points

So, my idea is to add a mode to sandbox that you can switch on or back off. Playing in this mode would appear normal, but as time went on, natural disasters would take place, such as floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, ect. Floods These events would be triggered when it rained, but only a small amount of the time, maybe a 1/20 chance or something. Anyways, when this event is triggered, rivers would burst their banks, making the tiles around them have a small amount of water on, like a puddle, but as it kept raining the sea level would rise, as well as river tiles would increase, and this would happen for a range of 5-10 days, which would be the same amount of time it would take for the floods to recede. During the floods fish would be able to swim up the river and any tile which is deep enough for the swim icon. If left on land they become dead and nichelings can collect them. You'd get a notification when the flood began. Tsunami This would start with a block of raised water like the river in the sea, and there would be no notifications. it would slowly grow until it was many blocks long and a few wide. after a few days, it would sweep across to the island at night before the player has a chance to move their nichelings, and sweep any it catches (none on the high ground or in the centre of big islands!) and deposit them many tiles in a particular direction. they could be left in a different part of the island at best, or deposited in the sea itself at worst. The only notification a player would get would be one after the tsunami struck. If they are observant, they could spot the tsunami forming and move their nichelings to a safer place. If a tsunami hits a nut tree it could easily make it a tree stump, and any other entities such as bearyenas, rabbils and nuts would be washed away too. Berry bushes would be reverted to their destroyed state. Earthquake This rare event could be triggered completely randomly, and it would cause the geography to change ever so slightly in height sometimes. The notification would be given before, the day of, and after the event. When there is an earthquake there would be a 50-25% chance of a repeat earthquake, with the maximum being ten. The most dangerous aspect of this event, however, is that it can trigger eruptions and tsunamis. Eruptions These could be triggered by an earthquake on a mountainous island or by itself. You would get the very topmost block disappear, and be replaced by lava which would turn by turn move 2-3 blocks in rivers down the mountain. Any nicheling that steps in it instantly perishes and the lava sets fire to any grass around it. Berry bushes or trees in its path are destroyed fully as are animals. Nichelings within two blocks experience added heat and nichelings within three blocks start taking damage, like sickness. after a few days, the lava starts to cool off and leaves blackish tiles which are very fertile and have a low chance of spawning a destroyed berry bush on them. they also tend to grow grass (re-growing usually) and spawn many roots. I hope you like my ideas, I'm sorry if some of them have already been suggested!3 points

This is connected to the thread Lands Lost to Time. (This is to make things a wee bit more organized) @Brokenshock The current ruler of the Snowy Mountains is Queen Raven who is played by Brokenshock. There are Macaque's who like to take up space in the largest of the hot springs. There is a treasure that Raven's parents left her and her sister hidden among the hot springs. Perhaps the snow monkey's know where such treasures hide.2 points

This is connected to the thread Lands Lost to Time . (This is to make things a wee bit more organized) @Aetherskye The current ruler of the Mirahl Jungle is no one for the royal family disappeared. There are very few nichlings in Mirahl at the moment due to dangers from apes, but there is at least one baby nichling The fossa are hungry. Are nichlings on the menu? Will the lost amazon village ever be discovered again? Will any of their descendants return, if any of their bloodlines ever survived?2 points

This is connected to the thread Lands Lost to Time . (This is to make things a wee bit more organized) The current ruler of the Swamplands is King Axlarr who is played by Trinket. Snake's like to hang out in the swamp trees. Although they are dangerous to those without poison resistance! Beneath a swampy mangrove tree covered in snake's there is an ancient treasure as well as a hidden entrance to a subterranean world.2 points

I added some new components. Most of the time, they're more diverse and interesting than I could come up with, aside from small edits. Then there's stuff like that It's genetic Her sister was Pineface. A half brother Did I introduce Curleyes dead brother? He didn't survive to his second gem. Silentkit was too sick. Then there's this subtype. Well, he didn't get the orange eyes, but that's just mean. What...? Too many prefixes Poor Twisted- and Facekit2 points

This is a weird funny idea that I just had. So if you toggle this on in the sanbox customization menu, you can find Eve in an iceblock. And by Eve, I mean this: Because she's kinda ancient. And the important part? She's pregnant with Adam's child and if you let her give birth, the baby will have home island immunity! With that you can get round ears on home island. Of course you can only find Eve once and the chances of finding her are really small. Still it could get pretty annoying if you're just going for the ice genes, so toggling it off has to be an option. And also this can't happen in storymode. Anyways, it's just something that long time players might enjoy.1 point

This is mostly for realism, and is mean to correspond with the lifespan lengthening. I don't know exactly how this would work, but... If the lifespan for nichelings is set to more than a certain number of days, then although rogue males would have the same lifespan, their incapability at doing many tasks in order to gather food and resources gives them a toll on their lifespan. They would have their own 'food storage' and if it runs out, the begin to starve like the playable nichelings do.1 point

Right now albinism/melanism completely takes away all camouflage stats, and I think it's kinda unfair. What I'm suggesting is that albinism gives +2 or 3 camo in the mountains, and melanism gives +2 or 3 camo in the jungles. I think it's unfair that a big-eyed ape is gonna go after my melanistic creature even though there's a creature with gray fur standing right next to it...1 point

In the flurry (heh) of snow, it was hard for Flurry to find her way. Most creatures dwell on sight, but Flurry cannot see. Instead, she hears and smells and touches. But the snow overwhelmed her. All she could hear was the snow drifting to the ground. She could only smells the faint scent of the cold snowflakes flying past. Everywhere she moved, all she could feel was the snow below her feet. How would she find her tribe?1 point

I made Meringue, along with 8 randomly generated females, and gave them one day for each of the younger stages, and 100 days as an adult. They bred every. single. day, and when their children grew up, they had children every. single. day. as well. THIS IS DAY EIGHT WITH ONE HUNDRED FORTY SEVEN CREATURES I also turned off all creatures like bearyenas and rabbils, and the like, and also regular grass. And turned all damage things to 0. Almost everyone is sick. The babies born on the day above were 46. I told you his family tree was messed up. Everyone except the creatures in his generation is related to him. (I didn't make Meringue sick because I forgot)1 point

I think it would be cool to add a new game mode that makes things a bit more challenging. In this game mode the game starts with a tribe of animals (maybe around 5 or so). Things are peaceful for a short time and then the earth starts shaking. The island you are living on is slowly falling apart. Your tribe needs to reach the next island exit as fast as possible! And this is how it keeps being from now on. Every island you enter will fall apart after some time, so run for your lives! You only have a short amout of time to gather up resources before heading to a harder island. This adds an interesting time restriction to the game which makes every single decision more important. Maybe this could even be a story thing, like Adam's story. With a small intro and an end goal: Reach Paradise Island. An island full of food and where earth quakes can't reach you.1 point
