No one in my family likes the games I play (things like Niche, Shelter 2, WolfQuest, Zoo Tycoon 2, etc) so unfortunately I never have someone I can enjoy the game with. At least I don't have to deal with them begging me to play while I'm playing3 points

I think sis also nicknamed one or two of the sticky tongued ones 'Mr. Anteater"3 points

sometimes I play niche with my 15 year old sister, and last time she made a naming system where the breeding male was always called adam (adam II, then adam III, ect.) and that applied to every other creature (I think gatherers were called kate or something) because she couldn't be bothered to name them. honestly, I think she understood it pretty quickly because she knows genetics and stuff better than most people do also my dad had a save once and I was so jealous of him, all of his creatures were gorgeous and none of them died3 points

Everyone's talking about siblings and getting them to play Niche? I'm the smallest child of my mom. My big sister's a big biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, meanie. She would NEVER play Niche unless I gave her money. I DON'T HAVE MONEY AND IF I DID I WOULD WASTE IT ON SOMETHING BETTER LIKE A STEAM CARD2 points

With mods it's quite entertaining, at least for me. You could also play with other people or join game servers.2 points

I WILL TAINT MYSELF IF I PLAY FORTNITE. Also he is edgy. (I don't have my 100 anymore! I used it on my art tablet!) OK non-existent charisma skills ACTIVATE Edit: He's not even at my house >.< but I have a 50$... (Not using that tho)2 points

Thanks! I hope they do, right now all albinism does is make nichelings look pretty lol2 points

This would be great for albino nichelings, if the albinism debuffs get added!2 points

I had so much trouble recreating the exact shade of brown from the old versions. They came out either too pale or too dark and I had to pick one or the other. We'll just say being Tata he can look like whatever he wants. I had to do another kludge on Mela who should have toxic body, but the sandbox created nichelings with that gene always turn out blue. (My apologies for the confusion, I don't know of any other gods but these.)2 points

I see... Meis/Chocolate Chip, Tata, Doeli, Yuki, Lala, Annka and Mafic2 points

I left to go somewhere, told my friend how to open Niche incase she wants to play (Dumb idea considering I haven't told her anything about how to play Niche) she leaves when I come back, and boom. My storymode save DESTOYED. No matching immunity, more than half the food GONE and everyone is sick and dying. I'm pretty sure that's why she left.2 points

I have gained the skills over time but I bet you can remember when I had food, population and mutation menu issues . Now I can safely say I am better at Niche than Seri is :,) My 13 year old little sister also made a save. If it wasn’t for me, she would have thrown all of her deep snouts and cracker jaws into the ocean (including SkinnySlate, the contestant for Ugly Miss Niche) :,( I was playing for like 5 hours yesterday and she came over and advised me to throw the rogue children into the lake.... I poisoned them to unlock toxic body, and made them swim around while drowning to unlock the water genes.2 points

I think armor body does, but unfortunately not spiky body I believe. There has to be a reason why I hate spiky body when it gets leeches!2 points
-
Correct me if I’m wrong, but does armored body and spiky body also ward off leech attacks? I don’t exactly remember2 points

I'd like you too: 1. Give her a save, but make OP creatures and put them in the right biome. see if she can mess that up. (Ramp up berry count an nesting material) 2 Make terrible nichelings and put them in the wrong biome. See if she survives...2 points

I know, no Multiplayer for Niche, it would take too much time to add it, but hear me out!!! I am not talking about a real multiplayer where you'd have to connect two computers one way or an other. I am talking about a hot seat multiplayer, basically running two packs/tribes in one game instance and switching between the two I sadly don't know anything about programming a game but I imagine this to be a lot less work than online or lan multiplayer, if this is still too much work then just ignore it -one would start at opposite sides of an island -recources like collected food and nest material are counted seperately -default gem colors might be different for both? example: P1's Nichelings are born with blue gems until changed and P2 gets orange as default. wanderes still green. -player 1 gets the first turn to move all his Nichelings, when he ends the day player 2 starts. next round player 2 starts and 1 ends ->that way noone would have the privilege to always harvest berrys before the other one has the chance -you can't breed with members of the other players pack or invite them in, similar like with the adams on homeisland ->exeption: if a banished member wanders around, he is free for the taking With this multiplayer mode, your creatures wouldn't only have to adapt to a static enviroment but also have to compete against an equally adaptable group and either search it's own niche next to it or fight for dominance over that niche Problems: -Island travel might be problematic and would either have to be impossible in that mode or maybe as soon as one travels, the other gets to pick the same number of Nichelings from whereever they stand at that moment -One could make a unnecessary move just to give that one nasty rouge a move to get to the other players female without them being able to do anything against it...might not be a problem but I'm not sure about that -I really don't know if this is as relatively simple as I think it is or if it would take lots and lots of time one could spend with 5 other features >_< ///Edit: I just thought about an explenation why the tribes would be active at different times and how about that gets linked to daytime? so one could pretend tribe 1 is dayactive and 2 is nocturnal, changing the light a bit but letting everything else be the same otherwise (and pretend rabbils are active all around the day). of course then the 12211221 rhythm I thought about would make no sense anymore, but if one always gets the days and the other the nights, then let the weather change and berry growth rythm be linked to that, counting for this purpose each players (or if you play both yourself, both tribes) turn as an entire day, but aging wise only day+night=1 for example, at the end of a sunny day, tribe 1 gets to sleep. as tribe 2 awakens for the night it starts to rain and the berrys grow back, they are thankful fot this, since the night before there was hardly any food to be found because of the drought1 point

This is the story of Grandmother, the creator of all (my) nichelings, and how she created the world and stuff like that. Let's begin! (Argh! My setting is all messed up!) Okay, now that everything's fixed, here are my starters. Grandmother and the Embodiment of Purity / The First Nichelings, Anare (Female) and Dukvan (Male) It's Grandmother's job to make sure these two don't die instantly, so she'd better get to work. Sadly though, the only thing she can do is dig, so we've got a rough start. The game even teases us with rain, how rude! Ah well, we have plenty of food to last us until the little ones grow up (10 days) so we'll just pathetically flail at this bush until that happens. Well, looks like Grandmother found a bit of imperfection in her world. She names this wanderer Glblooth, and decides to care for it. The creature then thanks her in the only way it knows how... by giving her a cold. We'll call this little one the Embodiment of Imperfection / Spreader of Illness. Adorable. I then noticed that I messed up the age settings again, so I sent everyone off to a different world. I also improved (if you can call it that) Glblooth, so he fits his role better. He was originally a wanderer with random genes, so I made his genes more random! (I'm pretty good at making nichelings that seem randomly spawned, I made Grandmother from scratch!) And we finally found roots, so it looks like we've got a good start this time! Though, we don't have any renewable food sources within reach, so perhaps this isn't as good as I originally thought. Well, that's really all I can do for now... I'll bring more updates in the future!1 point

Am I doing this right? I hope so. Anyway I thought I'd share something on my first day on the Niche forums! I was doing a challenge (linked here if you wanna check it out)a little while ago that I made up, where the goal is to create a society of zebra-like nichelings with specific traits. I since have started over, but Zukvanku here was the first nicheling to look remotely close to the end goal. So of course I got excited and had to draw him! Screenshot vvv1 point

Wait. I need to do this to a friend, not tell them anything about niche... and make them do story mode (Skip DA tutorial) If she makes it with HI immunity still runnin' ILL BE DARNED1 point

My little sister is 13 and I got her Niche when it released. She isn't bad at it when she is on easy islands that is, and I think she understands the genetics fairly well but she has trouble with the food and tends to get easily stressed. So she is really happy about the sandbox udpdate because she can start with more food She also had never that many sick Nichelings because I gave her an extra tutorial, she is still very impressed at how good I am at playing Niche1 point

In the Niche Competition Journal Kingdom (make sure you go vote for the next Queen! shameless advertising), a lot of my creatures would have Armored Body (not many do now), but they didn't even get the leeches. They didn't fall off, they just never attached to the armored body creatures in the first place. Maybe it was just luck, idk.1 point

I am only slightly kinder to the rouge bebes. I ether send them to wander or make them gatherers of poison berrys or cactus fruit.1 point

I let my cousin (7 at the time) play niche, with my help to make sure they don't all die. These are some screenshots from that. (I helped name some of them, too) And here's the save! She told me to play it even though she's not here and to tell her what happened next time she came over to my house. Still haven't played it yet. Slot2.nichesave1 point
