  4. I swear to god I'm obsessed with updating this RoseThorn gives birth to her son, who she names EagleKit. She's confident he'll become a great warrior, and the first warrior born into HawkClan. BrightWhisker tells ShrewTail to guard the nursery, which just annoys RoseThorn. oh no Meanwhile in RainClan, VioletPelt has her (accidental) kit. She names her beautiful daughter Berrykit. She curls around her, trying to shield her from the rain while ShyFox just kinda nervously watches. (Sorry this was short)

  5. Alright I'm bored, so I'm gonna start a Warrior cats playthrough. I'm only posting this here so people can add in their nichelings if they want. You can either give them a warriors name or let me choose. I have to split up a bunch of screenshots from my other playthroughs before I post them anymore. If nobody wants to add anything that's fine, I've got ideas.

  14. Who thought THAT was a good idea? Luckily the tree HawkClan is aiming for isn't very far. On the RainClan side, it's definetly a little further. Oh this is perfect BrightWhisker jumps up onto the tree stump, feeling a rush of wind. She looks over the tall grass, checking if maybe she can see the others from up there. She spots something before being interrupted by HawkStar. StingStrike pushes through the grass, finding a permanent nest. He looks up, realizing they're finally at their new home. RainClan starts settling down in their new camp. Everyone is all grown up, and the leaders realize they need deputies. RainStar makes LightWing her deputy while BrightWhisker is HawkStars, which irritates ShrewTail and RoseThorn a little.

  20. there is a huge forest about 40 minutes away from where I live and if you want to get most places you need to drive through it on one long road, you can always find literally hundreds of horses, a cow or two maybe, loads of squirrels, and once I saw a deer for a few seconds running behind some trees.

  25. I'm thinking, being able to add/remove plants, changing the height of terrain and even the biome. Maybe even adding span tiles for specific creatures, the change wouldn't be immediate, you'd have to wait a few days for it.

  26. I have a few tricks that make it into most of my drones. Latch A switch that, once pushed, stays on forever. Built from a buffer with its output on the same key as its input. You can also build it from an "or" gate or a time-delay gate. Boot Signal A latch plus an inverter(the one with the circle) to make a signal which starts "on", waits a moment, then turns off. You can control the on-time by changing the time on the time-delay. This is useful for drones which need a kick to get moving, either logically or physically. Turn Memory You can use sensors to avoid obstacles in races, etc, by having the right sensor turn off the left engine and vice versa. This pushes your drone away from hazards. But what happens if both sensors get blocked? Can't turn off both engines! You can use a pair of NAND gates, wired like this, to remember which sensor turned on first. S and R are sensor inputs, Q and Q' are engine outputs. It's always 1 1 when no sensors are triggered, but if both sensors get triggered, it remembers which sensor got triggered first and continues to turn that way. There's a rare glitch if both sensors go from 0 to 1 the exact same instant. Then it will flicker until one of the sensors turns off. This is not a bug, the real-life part does the same thing. What tricks do you use for nimbatus logic?

  27. Some people may already know, but you can plug an Xbox controller into your computer and play certain games with Controller Compatibility. Nimbatus does not have this, though it could very much have it. The cursor controlled by the 'sticks' and the d-pad for selection/left and right. The Y, B, A, X buttons as well as LB, LT, RB, RT would be controls for your ship. I am aware of the fact this would compromise the flexibility of 26+ of keys to use, but who needs 5+? (I actually only have 12 hours in nimbatus so I have no idea what the average is.)

  31. prince, I have no problem with respecting you and.. our.. children. they will be raised to be proud of themselves, and taught to make the world better with the power they will get from me upon death. I will, too, be eternally grateful if you help our children grow up right, because I know first hand the responsibility of a god -lala

  35. Opossums. Occasional bobcat spotted a few streets away off in a foresty area. Squirrels, including a juvenile one that seems to live below a bird feeder (the only times I see it, it's eating birdseed off the ground below the neighbor's birdfeeder ). Lots of mourning doves and sparrows.

  38. Interesting discussion. I would love to see a proper controller support for Nimbatus, as I think there might be big value for certain players wanting to control menus or their drone by a controller. Also, increased accessibility. Unfortunately there are some problems which would take quite a while to solve. First being the construction of drones. Finding and implementing a good way of doing that takes a lot of time which we currently can't invest because of more pressing features. The other problem is that we don't have any clever mapping for analog inputs. That means while buttons could be mapped pretty easily, ideally the analog sticks could be used with their intended accuracy. But we don't have a concept of analog inputs in the game, and controlling certain aspects with the mouse (targets for VTOL, directional sensor, weapons) would work differently as well (albeit this one is solvable). So I think for the time being we can't work on that and you have to rely on 3rd party tools (like joymouse) or other solutions (Steam controller, ...) I'm sorry for that. Even though we would love to implement many many more things like that, we can't because of time / resource reasons

  39. You would still have your keyboard. While it is more bothersome, it would be totally possible to use keyboard keys as well. Also I forgot, the joysticks would be keys as well. (Also with the push-down feature!) I don't have a reliable mouse in my house. All I have is a controller. They *always* disappear or break, and I'd hate for another situation like this again. Aka: I cannot use a mouse, I only have a controller.

  43. So back when the sandbox mode was first raised as a possibility, I got really excited about creating the most aesthetic nicheling I could. Which is fun, but I thought, could be more challenging. This is Opal I've attached the sandbox settings here. You start with all genes unlocked and blind gene mode on. You also have a twenty nicheling tribe limit. The goal is to breed a nicheling that looks like Opal as quickly as you can (recessive genes and immunities don't matter). This probably won't be a particularly hard challenge, but I feel like it might be a little more fun. If you decide to have a go, I'd love to see your Opal clones and how long it took you (if the sandbox settings don't work, let me know and I'll post all the details of the settings) Aesthetic Challenge.sandbox
