Welcome to my play through of Honestly a Very Hard Challenge, originally created by the wonderful Skysalsa8. I’ve already done 25 days, so I’ll post all of that here. Also, rip format, I’m on mobile. Day 0: We start out with a lovely female named Kosi, who looks like a good starter even if we can’t see her genes. Her nimble fingers were certainly be helpful for gathering food, especially once defender bears shower up A berry bush and a crabbit have been spotted, but the crabbit shouldn’t be any trouble. Day 1: We’ve reached the berry bush, and have also discovered a stagmole and a rabbit, but we’ll leave them alone for now. Oh, and I almost forgot, there is also a tree right next to us, so that’ll be a good food source as well. Day 2: Nothing new has occurred, Kosi just spent the day picking berries. Day 3: We’ve picked all of the berries for now, so we’ll be moving onto nuts for a while. Have to keep an eye out for that rabbit though Day 4: Picked up a nut and moved. No new creatures unfortunately. Day 5: It rained today, so Kosi is gonna get more berries before the rabbit snags them. I almost missed him, but a wander has been spotted! Actually, smelled, but close enough. Let’s hope it’s a male so poor Kosi doesn’t have to mate with a rogue. Day 6: Since Kosi has plenty of food for now, she’s decided to chase after the wander, as he’s, well, wandering off. Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten close enough to see him yet, but he’s very close. Day 7: They keep running away, which is annoying, so Kosi decided to stop and grab a nut in the hopes that he’ll come back. Nope, he’s still fleeing. We’ll continue the chase tomorrow. Day 8: It appears that he’s grown up now, so hopefully once Kosi is grown, she’ll have a mate. That is, if we can catch this guy. At last, we’ve been able to see this allusive wanderer! He is a male, named Vannaduk. We’ll have to grab him tomorrow, since we’re out of turns, unfortunately, it appears he poor boy is blind, which might not make him the best mate. Explains his odd movements though. And no, he is not fully grown. In fact, it appears he just grew up from child age, which explains why he looked bigger. Perhaps he had big body? Day 9: Our lovely lady Kosi has grown up, and she is most definitely big bodied. We invite Vannoduk into the tribe, finally gaining us our second member. He is blind and has a deformed paw, but that digger’s paw should prove to be useful. And suddenly, and peaceful bear! Along with several berry bushes. We gave him some best stuff, so for a while, he should be pretty safe. I think we’ll stick around here for a while, since we have several berry bushes, thought the one Vannaduk is a poison one, so we can’t pick from it. Day 10: Kosi spends the day picking berries while Vannaduk clears away some grass since he can’t move far away from Kosi, unless he wants to go back to stumbling around the island. Day 11: Kosi finished off this bush, and decided to head back to the tree, where they can be guaranteed food, even in the Peaceful Bear doesn’t follow them. Day 12: Returning to the tree, Kosi begins cracking some more nuts and clearing away grass while Vannaduk begins digging up roots. Day 13: Vannaduk keeps sniffing out roots and Kosi cracking nuts, but both are clearing the grass around the tree, starting to make way for this being their camp. Day 14: Life continues on as normal. Surprised there are no rogue males yet, though I probably just jinxed myself. Day 15: Still nothing. Hopefully a new wanderer appears soon, though this is good bonding time for Kosi and Vannaduk. Day 16: Rain came today. Guess it’s a nice change of scenery. But a dodomingo has been sensed, so perhaps it’ll lead us to a nest. Not seeing one yet though. Day 17: Vannaduk has grown up, and we can also confirm that he has big body. I’ve decided to breed him with Kosi, as there’s been no sign for as much as a rogue male. I am worried about that blindness though. The dodomingo is sitting on a bunny burrow now, so I don’t think it’ll been any help. Kosi builds a nest in preparation for her upcoming child, even though she has six days till we meet the kid. Day 18: At last, another wanderer! We would be able to see the kid if Vannaduk wasn’t blind, but oh well, Kosi will have to chase after her then. His name is Bronze, and he’s a handsome little thing. He’ll make a much better mate for Kosi, since he’s not blind and doesn’t have any no paws. He’s still a teen though, so we’ll have to wait for now. Thankfully, Kosi will have had her kid by the time he’s grown. For now, let’s invite him in to the tribe. He’ll definitely be helpful since he can crack nuts and pick berries just like Kosi, and will increase Vannaduk’s ability to move. Day 19: A mostly normal day. Thanks to Bronze, Vannaduk was able to dig up some more roots while Kosi cracked nuts and picked berries. Day 20: A healing plant has been smelled from across the river, though in this challenge, I don’t think it’ll do us any good. Bronze, blessed child that he is, just found a permanent nest, which is good news, since a dodomingo just took over the one Kosi built. I might name Bronze the god of good fortune if this keeps up, which would make him my first god. Day 21: Nothing of real not happened today. Day 22: Rain comes, which is good, since our berry bush was getting dry. Perhaps some unknown god is looking out for our little group. Tomorrow, we’ll set Kosi up on a nest, and she’ll give birth to our first second generation nicheling. Also, a crabbit appears to want to fight Bronze for unknown reasons. Day 23: As if knowing that a child is coming, a bluebird appears right above the permanent nest. Ominous. Suddenly, as Kosi makes her way towards the nest, she spots a young wanderer dart away into the darkness. All I could see was that she was black and had derp snout. If only Vannaduk could see, then we could invite her into the tribe. Another surprise of the day, as Vannaduk clears away some grass, he discovers a stump. Perhaps he can call that wander back. Day 23: Kosi’s and Vannaduk’s child was born, but as soon as it became day, she died to sickness. From what I saw, she was yellow and blind like her father, but had her mother’s face. Kosi and Vannaduk are heartbroken by the loss of their child. They must share an immunity gene, which is unfortunate. Hopefully Kosi and Bronze will have better luck. Perhaps that little black wanderer brought such bad luck. Vannaduk lets out a mournful cry from the stump, but the wanderer only sits there, still. What could she be up to… Day 24: Bronze is now fully grown, and mates with a still grieving Kosi. However, she is comforted by Bronze, which makes Vannaduk somewhat jealous. Vannaduk stands right next to the wanderer, but since he’s blind, her identity remains hidden. For now… Day 25: Seeking answers from the nicheling that may or may not have caused the death of her child, Kosi chases after the recently fully grown wanderer, but she does not flee. Instead, she stares down into the river below, appearing to watch a clownkoi. A somewhat nervous Kosi and Vannaduk invite her into the tribe. Her name is Milasi, and she’s quite the strange creature. She has a velvet paw, what explains why she was so sneaky. We’ll see what this stranger brings tomorrow, for better, or for worse... (Side-note: I had a lot more pictures, but they wouldn’t fit, so these ones will just have to do.)3 points

Thousands upon thousands of years ago, back when the world was covered in snow and ice, where berry bushes were an abstract concept, resided a place where only the strongest, most resistant creatures could survive. A place where it was every creature for themself, and if you were unable to survive in the harsh weather, then you were unworthy of others' concern. In the midst of those cold, dark ages, stood three creatures... The white and red one with horns larger than their own body was called Reellen. Out of his group, he was the strongest. A creature destined to hunt down even the largest of balance bears. A commanding creature unafraid of battle, yet still caring about his tribemates. He wears his mask like a knight's helmet. However, with no resistance to the coldness of the area, he will have to rely heavily on those who can to stay near him at all times. The spotted one with antennae, capable of predicting when the next blizzard would arrive was called Elrera. Born female, but transitioned to male, Elrera was a creature with a nose capable of sniffing out any roots, even if they're buried miles deep into the ground. Heavily resembling a mouse in appearance and nature, Elrera is a smart creature that will make sure to provide for his tribe in even the harshest of times. And last but not least, a blind creature with fur that stands out against everything except the shadows. However, this fur is long, and provides heat to those around her. Her name is Kutata, and she is a kind, caring creature who will take anyone underneath her wing no matter what genes they may have. Her acute sense of smell and touch make up for her lack of sight, allowing her to point out any creature lost in the snow, so that she may rescue them. These three come from three separate tribes. They joined together to form a safe haven for anyone out there in the snow, so that maybe these cold days could become a little easier. Nobody knows when, or if the earth will become warm, and some don't even know what warmth is at all due to how rare it is around here. However, these three strive to make a home for those hoping that maybe one day the earth will become more habitable, and hope that whoever becomes leaders of the tribe after them will help do the same. [-X-] (Updates will be posted below this introductory post! I hope you enjoy my playthrough!)3 points

(copied and pasted from THE ULTIMATE BATTLE post) She watches the waves. Watches them as they lap against the sandy shore. Beneath them, Magnolia knows, lies someone important to her. Someone with soft pink paws, who would stare up at her with soft dark eyes that pierced the soul. He's gone now, Magnolia knows. Her baby is gone. So what can she do? Magic, she thinks. I have magic. I can't bring him back, but I have magic. She draws up all her inner strength and a pink mist spills from her heart. It rests above the ocean, as though waiting for her next command. She hears a voice ringing in her ears. Find him, it says. Find him. You can find him. His body, at least. That's all I can bring back. She lifts her wing and drops it swiftly and abruptly, sending the pink mist to sink to the bottom of the ocean. Then, slowly, she raises her wing up again, and the entire ocean rises with it. Soon a dense cloud of water floats above the dry sand. Magnolia runs, hoping to find what is left of her son. She sees his limp body a distance away, and in an instant she's leaning over it, weeping. "Velveteen, oh Vel..." The voice comes again. Look what's left of your son. And then another voice beside it. Come on, mother, it says. Don't you wish you could have saved me? Is this all you can do for me, cry? "I wish I could do more, Velvet...I'm only so powerful..." Listen... Velvet croons. We can give you more, if you promise to avenge me. "I can't, I can't. You were taken by the sea. I can't destroy the sea." Listen to me! The first Voice hisses. The pink cloud of water darkens and rumbles above Magnolia's head and begins to drizzle black rain. Do you want to lose another one you love? Magnolia sighs. She would do anything to keep what she still had. "I will do anything you say." Good, good. Remember, darling. It wasn't the sea who took your son. It was something much, much more powerful. And we need your help to destroy that power. "I will." Magnolia's heart hurts, but she has to do it for Velveteen. The Voice cackles as the mist, now a deep ink-black, rushes back into Magnolia's heart. Without its magic, the water begins to fall back to earth. Magnolia screams as she is thrown against the sand by the seemingly endless torrent crashing down upon her. "Velvet! Velvet! Save me!" She cries out, choking on water in desperation. No, mother, Velvet whispers. Save yourself. It echoes, over and over, through Magnolia's head as she struggles in the deep water, then slowly calms until she is still, just floating, in the middle of the ocean. ---------------------------------------------------------- Withered Magnolia is part of The Voice's group. She could easily form her own army, but she is afraid of separating from them, because The Voice holds the only remaining connection to her son. Her mission is to use her powers for evil, breaking the game and destroying the developers, and erasing everything from the game so that every nicheling left will be free from the game's mechanics.3 points

A bearyena attempts to attack ZebraDash's family, but didn't count on InsectBite being there and the family being so strong. Within the day, the bearyena is reduced to a pile of fine red meat. Meanwhile, AdventureHill finally reaches his destination, and receives the name of AdventureStar. He also officially pronounces CalfBug the deputy. That's going to be all for now, but I'll try to pick it up again sooner than last time!3 points

Well, only if you're ready to deal with the consequences in the morning! Keep in mind, though, sometimes a good sleep is all you need to refresh your brain and figure out whatever you need to do to make the project work. Alright, so niche has a tendency to give me multiple 1 or 0 post days in a row, and then throw days like this at me, so buckle in for a MEGAPOST. We start out with BuzzingStar's fourth baby, another albino named ArchKit. As she has her fourth baby, she also becomes a grandmother as ZebraDash has her first child, MidnightKit! She unfortunately didn't get two bat wings, but she did get one, and a very surprising platypus beak! Her and her mother are also visited by the resident Peaceful Bear, who ZebraDash barely manages to restrain herself from taking a swipe at in shock. Next up we have some promotions, as FuzzyKit grows into FuzzyPaw. He'll be mentored by his father, AdventureHill, since he's been a very active digger in our tribe lately. Another promotion occurs in the form of QuillPaw growing into QuillNut! She promptly starts a family with her ex-mentor ChillTree, who she's been crushing on for a long while now, as they've maintained the oak tree together. Meanwhile, as TideFish and ThatchPaw venture out into VenomClan's tidepools, they discover two of the very plant ThatchPaw promised! The student will be teaching the teacher in how to use these, in preparation for whoever may need to use them.3 points

Hehe, I also get frustrated at early hours in the morning at scratch, I'm glad I could help! All three of our medically-inclined nichelings gather at the shores as TidePaw grows, and he receives his full medicine nicheling name of TideFish! He also accepts ThatchPaw as his apprentice, and the two prepare for their expedition into the sea. (Prepare for some babies next post!)3 points

Alright, we're back a bit later than originally thought, but I did accidentally sleep the day away We're starting back off with TidePaw inviting our first water-bodied wanderer named Thatch. He's surprised to discover that Thatch, who's quickly renamed to ThatchPaw, shares his passion for healing, and actually also wants to one day become a medicine nicheling. They quickly become good friends, sharing their methods, and TidePaw is surprised to discover that ThatchPaw claims that, in the water, there are plants with healing properties that also allow any nicheling to breathe underwater, for a short time. He's skeptical, and reluctant to head back to the waters edge to verify the claim, but ThatchPaw assures him that the waters are calm, and that it's worth the risk.3 points

Feedback! Nice intro. I like having a clearer purpose, but I think the wording of the English translation could be smoother. I like the captains idea. Unique play styles are great. Here were my initial takes on them Boxer: A good beginner captain, but the name was odd to me. I have a hard time seeing anyone placing a state of the art, experimental star ship in the hands of a boxer. I could see a mechanic, or a military veteran, maybe, but a boxer does not a good captain make. %bigger and %stronger energy shield would be nice to know. Pilot: Gotta go fast. I love it. Miner: With finite resources, it has a neat place. Drills are problematic though. They're heavy, terrible weapons, fairly fragile and if you lose one, you can't dig effectively. Engineer: Wireless everything. Tons of logic. Half deploy costs. It's really, really good. Possibly too good. Researcher: This one was problematic to me. Out of the gate, the description was confusing. I didn't understand what "weapon Editor and technology tree" meant until I learned that it's the only one with access to the old weapons tree. That alone makes it strong, but I'd rather see all the pilots have the tree and give the engineer something else to be more unique. For the second perk, "Batteries Power Thrusters and Have a High Recharge Rate" was vague compared to some of the clearly stated other perks. Pilot says 2x thrusters, for example. "Thrusters use energy instead of fuel", "Batteries recharge x% faster" would be useful info when weighing perks on a first play through. Using energy for fuel is novel, but the perk didn't really work out that way in my run. I didn't see any more energy blocks than in the other runs, but I still saw fuel, making me feel as though I had less overall resources than the other captains. Other observations: High air density maps with the newer, faster, dual snakes will drive a man to drink Low air density maps with Uber hammerheads are similarly hard on the liver Due to high part launch costs, logic was hardly worth using, even as an engineer Because part number is the limiting factor, small parts were always worse than their larger counterparts. Because of the previous bullets, my drones weren't very interesting Timed one-shot missions weren't worth the added threat to me and had a high chance of failure. Nitpick: The Nimbatus just suffered massive external damage, enough to rip off it's ftl drive, but it starts at 100% health? Debris on planets behave erratically when effected by magnets after contacting the drone. The physics get really weird. This can be frustrating since they're worth resources. That's most of my notes! Thanks for all your hard work and good luck on the next phase!2 points

I'm not sure if this is bad or not, but... I learned how to draw by looking at someone else's art, then trying to copy it. I sorta just mashed pieces together, so it's be like A's ears, B's eyes, C's head, etc, but I also put my own twist on it, like now the eyes are just kinda plain but I like them because I didn't copy them from someone else. Once upon a time, my cats were like these: (I remember being so proud of that ) And now I can draw them like this!: (I'ms till proud of that!) Just keep on drawing. You'll slowly improve--Like, I've improved from last month, it's weird. So... yeah2 points

One in the same No. It couldn't happen. No to her. Not to Nutalie. Princey ducked his head, burying his face in her fur as tears spilled gently down his face. Nutalie's breathing was shallow, and her eyes looked glazed over. The sickness was taking her, dragging her down to the deep dark of everlasting sleep. She smelled foul, her fur reeking with the illness that raided her fragile body. He felt her cough, her entire body shaking with the effort. Princey could feel the burning gazes of his tribemates, of his sister, his children, shocked to see their king in such a state, and their queen in an even worse one. Nutalie was slipping away, her body going limper with each second, her breathing ragged and heavy. Her crooked snout was open a bit, her eyes closing slowly. No. No. NO. Death couldn't take her, it couldn't! Princey sobbed, pressing his head deeper into her fur. He stayed that way, through the agonizing seconds as his beloved went still. Her breathing stopped. He cursed them. He cursed all of them. All of the spirits and gods who would dare to do this. What kind of monster would- Princey froze. His world was dark and black, and the voices and sounds of his friends and family no longer remained. He felt something staring at him. He looked over his shoulder. A dark figure stared back at him, it's green eyes staring holes into Princey's soul. The black male had spots similar to the king's, a particularly strange square shape sitting on his muzzle. His body seemed disoriented, almost like it was glitching. He smiled an ugly smile, and swayed his tail back and forth. "Who-who are you?" The nicheling replied, his voice deep yet high at the same time, sounding like falling rocks and claws against stone, sounding near and far at the same time. "I am Blad e." Princey swallowed hard. This was Blade. The infamous god of plague. The nicheling who infected and killed his entire tribe for the way he was mistreated, and was punished for it in the afterlife. He had killed Nutalie. Body burning with anger and rage, Princey lunged forward, aiming his antlers straight at the imposing male. He only stepped to the side, watching as the king tumbled and landed hard. He let out a dark chuckle, stepping towards him. "YOU'RE A MONSTER!" Princey screeched, his tail lashing and his eyes narrowed. This brute had killed his mate. His Nutalie. Blade chuckled again, sitting down and gently swiping his tail upwards, resting it under Princey's chin. "You're wrong there." He lifted his paws, holding them out in front of him. Princey froze. He had a velvet paw and a runners leg, just like him. The only difference between the two's appearance were the fur color, eye color and the antlers. Everything else was uncannily similar. "We are one in the same."2 points

This post will be a bit shorter, but I will be playing more today. Just wanted to leave things on a high note Also, I miss-numbered a day yesterday, so sorry for that. Day 27: A somewhat wary Vannaduk is guided by Milasi towards some more roots, and she discovers another permanent nest, which explains what that dodomingo was doing up here. It’s next to a berry bush, but it’s a poison berry one, so we can’t pick from it. Meanwhile, Bronze and Kosi spend the day picking nuts together, and grow closer in the process. Day 28: A bunny stands right in front of Bronze, taunting him, so he attacks it, but isn’t strong enough to kill it. Kosi would chase after it, but she can’t keep up with that pregnant belly of hers. Milasi heads farther and farther from camp, and poor Vannaduk can only follow her. A dodomingo is also following the group, which is strange, since there’s a nest right next to it. Day 29: Vannaduk wants to head home, and Milasi, quiet as ever, guides him back. Bronze and Kosi continue to gather food. Day 30: Suddenly, a Bearyena appears out of the darkness near our two lovebirds. Kosi, our strongest creature, attacks it some before fleeing, not wanting to risk her and her baby. Bronze quickly gathers some more nuts before following after her. Vannaduk and Milasi arrive home only to hear about the appearance of a Bearyena, much to Vannaduk’s terror. As per usual though, Milasi is eerily calm about it. Day 31: The bearyena continues its hunt, seemingly after Kosi and her probably delicious looking pregnant belly. She attacks it again, and with some surprise help from Milasi, they defeat the beast, which allows Kosi to get onto a nest in time for her birth. Bronze, antsy about the birth of his kid, rushes to the tree to get a snack for his mate, and getting a few words out of Milasi as well. Vannaduk smells a root he can’t reach, some mysterious meat in the other nest, and most exciting of all, a young wanderer nearby! She looks very strange with her fishing tail and stinky tongue. He calls out to her from his stump, but she seems too busy picking berries to notice his calls. Day 32: At last, our first child is born, and with her, she brings a rain, which is certainly a good sign. Her name is Diamond, and while she isn’t as good as fighting like her mom or gathering like both of her parents, she is a very nimble little thing, though we won’t see that in action till she grows some. Bronze haphazardly gathers up some berries for his mate and child before rushing over to meet the little sweetheart. A somewhat amused Milasi watched from a distance as she attempts to crack open a nut. And a somewhat bitter Vannaduk once again watches from his stump, continuing to call to the wanderer, who looks busy trying to gather all of those fresh berries. The blue bird, apparently tired of waiting so long, has disappeared, so Kosi carefully steps off of the nest to mate with Bronze again. This is a happy day for our currently nameless little tribe.2 points

Of course.. The good is always followed by the bad. Much to everyone's shock, a bearyena and her cub leap out at our pregnant leader and her deputy in the middle of camp! Due to their dwindling lifespans, both could be in some pretty serious danger if they're the ones to take the bearyenas attack. Meanwhile on the shores, our newest medicine nicheling receives his full name of ThatchPlant, and prepares his underwater healing plants for the injured of the upcoming fight. Two more warriors join the battle, and CalfBug is the last to hit the bearyena, hoping to take its anger away from the older nichelings and onto himself. We'll see how this plays out..2 points
