Hello again everybody, some of you may remember me from the "The Future of the Game" thread. I am interested in text adventure games/interactive stories or better known as choose your own adventure stories, and I am considering creating one for Niche. I have always felt like storytelling is one of its greatest strengths, and I think that that could be expanded upon in a fun, meaningful and interactive way. I am looking at chooseyourstory.com as a possible place to publish such a story, but textadventures.co.uk, or Quest, is also a possibility. I would want to have permission for this first, though. Is this alright with you, @Philo?

OH THIS IS THE THREAD I WAS THINKING OF ok here's one So I had a tribe, probably of nichelings but I'm not sure, I could tell because Meringue was in the dream for some reason. But I was still human. And my tribe and Meringue's made an alliance. While Meringue and I were talking just outside of his territory he noticed something and thought I'd started a fire in there. I didn't and there was no fire. And we continued and that happened again. But there was a fire, and it was spreading all over Meringue's tribe consisting of boars? And Meringue is an animagus that becomes a boar?? And while Meringue was fighting the fire as a boar I thought hey it would be cool to be an animagus! And somehow I became an animagus for a boar AND a gorilla

Wow thats a lot of food you got there! Where is it all? oh... it's literally nowhere... I've been holding off posting this for no reason at all lol, and then I just forgot. Then I saw the picture I made! WARNING: This picture is HORRIBLE So, lets go over these. Berry pile These piles only hold berries and it's a bunch of berries piles up on each-other. Can be poison berries depending on what berries you collect. Meat pile A lot of meat of different sizes fit together to make the pile. Mixed pile A pile of both berries and meat. Nesting material pile A pile of nesting material. It would look different on each island, and underwater it would look like algae These piles will be able to be stolen from, so guard it! (dodomingos and female wanders steal from the nesting material) Don't want to have something to guard? Well, you can still have food without a pile! Only each nicheling can hold one or two pieces of food depending on what kind of paws they have. Now, you may be asking, why would you need separate pile if nichelings are all omnivores? Well, you would have a food consumption ability! It would look like a berry, a piece of meat, or a berry and a piece of meat together! You can guess whats what each of those are. Each head gives a different one of these. Lets take, cracker jaw, for example. Cracker jaw doesn't seem like it would be able to chew and/or swallow meat, making it a herbivore. I'll go back through later and post a comment with all the head's food consumption, but for now, I need to go eat breakfast! EDIT: Sky has made a good point in the comments. Go read their questions/suggestions to understand these 😄 That's a good idea! I think I might add that! I haven't thought of the exact food cap. I'm thinking for now that it will fit as much food as you can start with in sandbox On tiles that have the same or almost the same ground level, you can place a food pile. I haven't decided how many tiles it will fill. Yes! You can destroy it, but only if you have at least one strength/attack/whatever u wanna call it. Again, you can destroy it and get rid of all the food you have stored in it. I'm thinking no, but maybe! If you collect food, it would go to the hand-held counter and there would be an option on the food pile to put hand-held food into the pile. That's a waaaaaaaay better idea! Again, great idea! You're great at coming up with this kind of stuff! I think it would just be auto-stored into hand-held storage, even if it's a really high number, then it could be auto-deposited when you put down food storage. You are not able to collect food when you are in this state.

So I have finished my Masters program and am now returning to the wonderful world of Niche. I opened Steam to discover I have spent over 500 hours playing Niche, which is incredible to me! I definitely thought I was around the 200 mark. Anyway, what's everyone up to? Any fun new challenges for a returning oldie?

When looking through the forums, I started reading some playthroughs others have done, and I decided to start my own and share it! So, this is Fae's journey. The only genes I gave her are platypus beak, a wing, and two healthy immunities (i would have left it random, but I don't want her to die faster :p) Fae was born to a wanderer, which wasn't allowed in her tribe unless they at least one wing, but her mother didn't care. Fae's mother ran off with this wanderer day after day, and decided she wanted to have a child with him, but didn't think of the repercussions. When the tribe found out she was pregnant with a wanderer's child, especially one without wings, they told her she could have the child, but afterwards she must leave, and if she is seen again she would be killed. So, she had Fae, and left to another island. Fae was always hated because of her mother. She was seen as "Disgusting" and always had to do the worst chores around the tribe. Once, there was a storm coming to their island, but there weren't enough ports for everyone. Her tribe decided this was the perfect time to get rid of her, once and for all. Fae was swept along in the storm, at the time she was still a teen, and she just barely stayed alive. Eventually, she lost consciousness and when it was regained, she ended up on a small, green island, full of precious food rescoursess She has arrived, few food, all alone, looking for company. What will happen next? Fae has discovered nut! She tries to crack it open but fails. Fae feels frustrated. She has made a new friend! Bunnil is a good playmate, even though it tries to run away... Whilst playing, Fae accidentally pokes bunnil too hard with her horns. Fae feels sad...but tries her friends meat. She likes it! But she wishes they could be friends instead... She discovers berries, they taste alright. I'll be adding more to her story either later tonight or tomorrow, sorry it stops here lol, I'll see you all soon!

A lot of good points and questions! I'm just going to take this real quick and divide it down into the important parts so I can really answer them.

If you're looking for someone who is excellent at bug finding and accidentally destroying software in ways that no one can understand, I have finished my masters and am returning to Niche! I would loooooove the opportunity to be a play tester for the mobile game!

I'm assuming it will take at least 2-4 months before we can even begin the Kickstarter ^^ (which we will need to do since we have to order at least 500)

Finally had some time to work out a more detailed plushie concept together with Steffi! I'll now send this to the plushie fabricant to check if a design like this is even possible
