#018 and #011 could potentially have masked, big-bodied offspring with antlers and green eyes! #017 and #013 could have big-nosed, spotted, stinky-tailed cubs with savanna horns!4 points

Day 34, Part 2 #010, "Tuku", has left the island as well. We are very happy to announce that two new nichelings have arrived on the island! #017 "Vanta", Partner of #013 #017 has been given to us by @Okay - he has already acquainted himself with #013. #018 "Cloydy Skies", Partner of #011 #018 has been given to us by @Lilyturf. She was quite shy after waking up and still keeps her distance to #011, but the two of them have been chirping at eachother.4 points

Currently we intend to keep four individuals from generation 2 on the island. #011, #012, #013 and #014. Currently we only have mates for two of them. We would therefore encourage others to consider sending one of their females to our island. @Okay does the PANR currently have a suitable female? We are looking for all kinds of genes, most notably nichelings with patterns and different kinds of horns.4 points

My teacher said that amphibians and/or reptiles are invertebrates. Don't know what this has to do with niche, but... it was very painful because my classmates believed the teacher and we were 11 at the time. And, to make that worse, that was the only genetic stuff we were taught that year. AND it wasn't just a slip of the tongue! THE TEACHER WROTE IT DOWN AND KEPT IT UP FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR! I'm so sorry teachers, I love you! But somebody had to make this post, okay? I'd like to petition for extra info about nichelings. Such as if they are mammals, give birth to live young, are vertebrates, are warm-blooded etc. Also if there could be fancy words like 'diurnal' or 'adaptable' or... I don't know. Ooooooo... perhaps more info about other creatures as well? Hold on... I'm making a features request.2 points

Day 36, Sunny #009 "Lurroduk", #006 "Lonta" and #008 "Eve" seem rather weak. They have spent the day huddled together, with #014 bringing them berries and #019 snuggling them and purring. #013 and #017 have stopped and #013 appears to be nesting. Our team is quite sure that she is pregnant. #011 and #018 are hunting together. They are both very affectionate towards the other. #012 "Lami" has been introduced to his mate #020. She seems to still be quite tired from the transport, ignoring #012. #020 "Ismiko" #020 has been given to us by @PincerClaw4202 points

Day 35, Sunny #016 has grown up - with that every cub of generation 2 is now an adult! The genetical analysis has indeed shown that he suffers from shortsightedness. He has therefore been relocated to another research programme. #016 "Kuulro" We have also introduced a new nicheling to #014 - his future mate! #019 "Peach" She has been given to us by @Okay While #019 got acquainted with #014 and #009, both #006 and his mate #008 joined the group. We assume that the two groups have known about each others existence due to their close proximity. As they reach older age they seem to be interested in joining together. #012 has been seen hunting rabbils in P2. #017 "Vanta" and #013 "Helza" have entered P4 and are currently moving to the northern side of the island. #011 has spent the day hunting and offered #018 the meat. The two of them have been seen sharing the meal. Our drone has been able to take a picture of all our nichelings and their current locations:2 points

Yeah this is something dumb I thought of - if you divide the amount of reactions you have received by the amount of posts you have made you get your reactions per post ratio. Mine is, counting this post: 1282/873 = 1.47 reactions per post. What are yours?2 points

Thank you very much @Okay and @PincerClaw420! These females will make lovely mates for #012 and #014.2 points

Day 33, Sunny #007 has unexpectedly passed away during the night. As his sons #010 and #011 appear to be grieving, we will wait another day to separate them. Then we will introduce #011 to his future mate. #009 seems to have somewhat recovered from his mates death and has eaten today. Both #013 and #014 seem impatient, most likely looking for a mate. We plan on introducing #013 to her mate tomorrow. The youngest cub #015 will most likely be brought to another research center, so overcrowding will not become an issue. #012 has now entered perimeter 2, his advance being closely surveilled by our drones.2 points

I got some Christmas hallmark movie on the tv that look at every so often. The main lady was like "pppfffff I don't think of Max like THAT" and ten min later I look at the tv and she's holding Max's hand at a romantically lit table2 points

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! Please, be okay, alright? From what I've heard, you should be able to live a pretty normal life aside from the insulin stuff and watching your sugar, but I'm not an expert on this stuff. Just- hang in there. We're here for you1 point

Day 31, Sunny #004 has spent the day close to her family, showing signs of fatigue. We assume that she will pass away during the following night. #014, her second cub, has reached adulthood and had his genes recorded. #014 "Anli" #008 has left her nest and hunted a stagmole. Her mate #006 appears to be taking care of their newborn cub. Their older son "Lami", #012, seems restless and has spent the day distanced from his parents, leading us to believe he might attempt to migrate. #007 has stopped advancing, instead clearing out grass. #010 and #011 follow his example.1 point

Day 28, Sunny We are glad to announce that #011 has reached aulthood! His genes were taken and show far greater diversity that the earlier generation. He and his family have spent a relaxed afternoon together. #011 "Zul" Meanwhile, #008 appears to be pregnant once again, but hasn't nested yet. We assume she might feel like she still needs to protect her first cub, and will give birth once he has grown up. With our far more advanced drones we have now been able to take yet another picture of #004 and her family. Her younger cub, #014, has been dubbed "Anli" by our researchers. Since #004 is quite old as well, we do not expect her to have another cub.1 point

After a recent issue with our drones, which rendered surveillance useless for a few hours, we have updated to the newest model currently on the market. As these drones are not only in posession of stronger batteries, but also tinier, very quiet and equipped with high-resolution cameras we will be able to take far more and better pictures of our individuals, enabling us to analyse their behaviour even better than beforehand. Our most recent update will also be the last one taken using our old drones.1 point

Day 27, #003 is showing increasing signs of old age - our team estimates she may live for another two to three days. She is currently taking care of #011, her younger cub. #007 and #010 continue to fish together, with quite some success. We are happy to see the nichelings vary their diet. #008 and #006 continue to care for their cub, both seeming to be quite protective of him. Our hopes are high that #008 will fall pregnant again soon. One of our drones has succesfully captured a picture of #004 and #009, confirming our beliefs that the pair is caring for two cubs. We are happy to identify their older cub, #013, as a female. She has been dubbed "Helza". As we have mentioned before, due to the high amount of male cubs in this generation, we are considering selecting a few of them to be given to other programmes attempting to stop the eradication of nichelings. Interested parties are free to contact us!1 point

Day 26, Sunny The cub of #008 and #006 is alive after all! Number #012, now called "Lami" by researchers, spent the day close to his father, picking berries. Both #004 and #009 care for a nest each, leading us to believe that they may have two young cubs in their care. #007 shows his offspring how to hunt and fish. His oldest, #010, has grown into an adult, and one of our drones has been succesfully decoded his genome, as well as taking a picture of him and his parents. #010 "Tuku"1 point

Hello. I and the other researchers at NWSO (Nothern Wildlife Safety Organisation) saw your request, and we have some fresh genetic material for you. We'd be honored to have our dear boy take part in such an important project. It huts to say goodbye to him, but we know we're leaving him in good hands. Name of Owner: NWSO Name of Nicheling: Tomato Soup (he may or may not have broken into our research center's food storage once) Gender of Nicheling: male Genetic Code of Nicheling: marked in the picture below Age of Nicheling: 6 days Past Social Behaviour of Nicheling: Very sociable, has been handled by humans. Seems to have an interest in digging Picture of Nicheling: (from when he was 3 days old)1 point

Day 23, Sunny #003 appears to have given birth to another cub. Her firstborn has left the nest, and has been identified as male. #008 apppears to be nesting, perhaps getting ready to give birth this night. Just as predicted, #004 and #009 continue to move north, though #004 shows signs of nesting.1 point

Day 16, Part II #003 is now moving towards the center of P4. #001 and #002 are starting to show signs of age, getting skinnier and less agile. #006 does not seem to have been impacted by his early growth issues.1 point

Instead of having an actual art dump, I just do this for now. Guides I use. In this picture I describe the purpose of all the stuff and use words may or may not know. Examples Stubby little derp snout child looking at rabbil like a box of chicky nuggies. Random cartoon of what I imagine life as a snowy nicheling would look like. He’s so proud.1 point
