The main reason is that we always considered them more as an in-game UI element (to display actions) then part of the actual character design. But when players started posting fanart and pretty much always included the gems and also requested features to change gem colors, we realised that people actually really like them ^^ So now they are usually included! (In the plushies for example and also in the mobile game, even though there is no "UI need" for them).

Well here is my DAY 1 I used a weird mix of cross hatching to make the darker shadows with the brown. Not sure how much I improved. I like that the snout isn't crooked this time. Last year This year

So after a little talking around, I figured we should do something to prevent more misunderstandings to happen again. we can use tone indicators! It’s something the MCYT fandom uses a lot and it might help us a little. tone indicators are like /j /lh that you see at the end of posts. here’s a little key to help you understand them better /j - joke, put it at the end of a joke. /hj- half joke, put it at the end of a joke but half of its not really a joke? Kinda like sarcasm but not. It’s really a feeling on this one /lh - light hearted, when you say something that is meant to be taken not seriously. Like “We’re all idiots here. /lh” means that they’re cannot actually calling us idiots but using it as a more endearing term. /srs - Serious, when someone is asking a serious question or making a serious statement about something about something. there are more but those are the ones that are most commonly used. If you have any questions about them, I’ll try to answer ASAP. also you don’t have to use them on everything, only on stuff where the tone might not be very clear.

Frostsun. Frostsun sat in his den, organizing the herbs he'd found and occasionally pulling his tail away from the brambles whenever he accidentally swayed it too close. A sharp jab to his back sent him spinning around, startled and hackles raised. He relaxed when he realized it was Whitefire, and purred-though he was sure it probably sounded like a rat caught in a snare. When he took a closer look, he realized she seemed....distressed. Conflicted. He tilted his head, leaning forward and sniffing her. 'She doesn't smell sick...' She started speaking, and a small bit of frustration shot through him at the fact she should have remembered he couldn't hear her by now. She stopped after a few moments, seemingly sighing. He watched as she lifted a paw, flicking it towards her stomach as she met his eyes. It took an embarrassing amount if time to understand that. In all honesty, he wasn't sure whether to be happy or terrified. Spartowstar was strict on the code, there's now way they would take this very well. Not to mention their own kits would be born soon, and they might think Frostsun would favor his own kits if a sickness broke out. So many things could go wrong, but right now, Whitedawn looked terrified and lost. So he did what was needed. He leaned forward and rested his muzzle on her head, twining their tails as she shook uncontrollably next to him. She needed him right now. Everything else could come later.

I stand by Silver. I see why others are mad, and sometimes I too get mad/annoyed/whatever. But that happens to me with other people here too. I've even been scared of someone. But I try and forgive and be friends with everyone, even if I have resentments. If I decided "if they annoy me/make me mad/have different thoughts than me, I won't be friends with them" then I wouldn't have any friends here. And probably not in real life either. awkwardly tip toes away before I find a dagger in my back

Same as last year!😄 You can do different colors and draw something else this year if you want. Me, on the other hand. Going. To. The. Same. Yes, that includes the poses I picked and style. Let's see if I actually did improve some things. This challenge is to help you learn to use a limited color palette and get better at drawing one thing. Here are the rules: 1. Use an app; online random color picker or just let someone pick for you so you have 5 different colors for seven days (I used: http://colormind.io/ ) 2. Pick what you want to draw for seven days (remember you can only draw that one thing) using these colors, e.g. Niche, animals, fruits, people, backgrounds... 3. Hopefully enjoy it. Or just see how I struggle because I'll be posting them here AGAIN.😆 I'll be doing Niche art and here are the only colors I'm allowed to use for each day when drawing them. (You can use white and black if you decide you need them)

People keep yelling at her for her emotions which are harder for her to control, which leads her to have more outbursts. It’s hard to understand, but you really have to know her to get it.

Sounds like a good idea @UWOaether ^^ If people keep using these, I can also put them in the rules channel so new people understand what they are.

Frostsun. Frostsun stared off into space, letting the soothing feeling of a tongue grooming his fur relax him. Whitedawn was saying something, supposedly because she forgot he couldn't hear her, but he didn't mind. A peculiar shaped cloud appeared in the sky, and he gently tapped Whitedawn on the shoulder, sweeping his tail towards the sky. Whitedawn looked up, narrowing her eyes in a thoughtful expression for a moment. She smiled, looking back to him and twitching her whiskers in amusement.

Also Frostsun got so scared he ran all the way past CrowClan lmao

Blackswift. Blackswift frantically darted away from Sootfall, nearly tripping over her own paws. Her was still wet and she was cold and the trees were too big and- She was so lost in her own head, she didn't have time to move before bumping into one of her clanmates. The two cats tumbled to the ground, and Blackswift was pretty sure she hit her head. Something sharp dug into her sides, and she barely had time to register the pain before she was tossed away. And she hit her head. Again. Through the dizzy haze, she saw a white she-cat give her a look of disgust. "Ew, why are you wet?! And watch where you're going!" Iceskip hissed, whipping around and stomping off in the opposite direction.

Sootfall. Sootfall walked on the edge of the camp, enjoying how the rising sun reflected on the water. That is until a blast of water got splashed in her face. She coughed, feeling the cold creep into her bones and whipping around too see who the hell did that. A white paw broke the lake surface for a moment, before a black head popped up, spluttering and coughing up water. The cat-who she recognized to be Blackswift-frantically swam toward the shore, pulling herself out and landing on the shore in a shivering heap of wet fur. Sootfall raised a (metaphorical) eyebrow, quickly walking to the other side of the lake and staring down at Blackswift. "Are you alright?" The she-cat jumped, eyes wide and fearful as she slowly backed away from Sootfall. "Uh y-yeah, fine-I'm fine!" "Are you sure?" Sootfall leaned over and sniffed her, fur bristling up as Blackswift squeaked and pulled away, quickly jumping up and running off.

BogClan. The six cats came upon the new territory, marvelling at the towering trees and the soft, spongy grass beneath their paws. A white she-cat glanced at the sky, only to scrunch her nose up and shake her head. The light stung her eyes, and she quickly ran under the nearest willow tree. A smaller cat, presumably the leader, sniffed the air, glancing at the lake filled with waterlilies and feeling the soft breeze flow through their fur. They took a deep breath, and settles beneath the shade of a tree, dark pelt nearly swallowed by shadow, and closed their eyes. They let their claws prick the marshy ground, and allowed the calming atmosphere to surround them.

I used a number generator to choose the colors as my drawing app has only a limited number of them. Why so much pink/purple! idk what to do with those!

Dukro's high pitched scream seems to scare the Bearyena off. He starts of giggling before it falls into hysterical laughter, "I'm the best!" "Did you see that?" Misi rolls her eyes and decides if she must pick a male from these sad bunch she might as well go for one that can scare off a bearyena. Even if it's in a unconventional way. ~ Anais goes into labor and Priku gently helps her to the nest they build. "I hope it's a boy." Anais frowns, "Will you have a problem if it's a girl?". Priku stays silent then smiles, "Of course not.". Unconvinced Anais raise her voice, "I hope it's a girl." Before shoving his paws off her. ~ Meanwhile Nuduklur and Misi ends up next to each other both equally disgusted. "You!" They shout in union. Misi huffed, "I don't want to spend the night next to an ugly thing like you!" "I can say the same, little miss stuck up."

Palefire. The tom sat by the lake, angrily lashing his tail and smacking lilypads out of the water. His clanmates kept their distance, casting wary glances his way. He scoffed, hitting a waterlily a little too hard and sending it flying to his left. Right into poor Silverflower's face. She screeched in surprise, staring with bristled fur as the plant fell to her paws. She looked at him, and her fut lay flat again. "Hello Palefire! How are you?" Palefire hissed, turning his head away and staring into the water. "Go away." Silverflower flicked an ear, tilting her head. Her eyes flickered down towards the waterlily again, before she came closer and sat down next to him, ignoring his hissing and snarling.

/pos is another good one. It implies positive intention onto something that could be misunderstood negative? ”HOW DID YOU DO THAT? /pos” is a pretty bad example but it should let you be able to understand it.

I wasn’t involved but I still wanna help. And sorry for everyone who was involved. It must have sucked. Anger can be really hard to get rid of so here’s one way I deal with it. I take a really slow deep breath in and let myself feel the full force, just welcome it in. No judgment, just let it flow into the lungs. Then I breath out and let it go. It doesn’t work for everything, but it can’t hurt. You can try it now if you want.

am i wrong to sympathize with georgie in this situation? she (silver, does georgie use she/her still?) just seems to keep pushing and pushing and pushing at boundaries. example: recently, she vented on a public thread. am i a little annoyed at that? yes. but i’ve done it too and she’ll probably realize what she’s done wrong soon enough. then she vents a potentially triggering vent (w/o warnings) on a status update. i get very annoyed, and basically tell her to shut up, calm down, and get help. she responds, and then follows up with a (separate) post saying “some people here are a disgrace to me.” at this point i am straight up fuming. and then she guilt-trips pantry. you get what i’m saying? and i’m 99% sure others (including georgie) have had a longer history with her of this sort of behavior, and i can absolutely understand why georgie would blow up at silver making a questionable sounding reminder for fawn if this kinda stuff has happened multiple times. then again, almost everyone’s behavior on that thread was,, yeah. not great. i’m not trying to say georgie and others who yelled at silver did nothing wrong. at the same time, it’s beyond easy to imagine myself in their shoes.
