Backstory time wooooo This is turning into a giant Avengers level crossover between all my tribes, and I like it Another tribe I had, an older one, was called the Root Tribe. The leaders were a monarchy named the Root family. Naming systems in the tribe went like this; (Family name) (Rank) Family name was the name of your bloodline; for example, the Roots always had their name being with Root. Then, your rank, which could be; Sky-Jade-Opal-Ruby-Diamond-Root. Skies are banished or servant nichelings. They are the lowest of the low and looked down upon. Most lose or abandon their family names. Jades are the children of the tribe. They live to prove they are worthy of their family's name. Opals are lower classed, but still respected. Most Opals are trained to do work for the Roots, such as take down threats or protect the tribe. Rubies are middle class. Higher than the Opals, but still vital for the tribe. Most are berry, nut and root gatherers, and are responsible for the tribe's food supplies. Diamonds are the highest rank any non-Root nicheling can achieve. Report directly to the Roots, and act as generals and leaders to the tribe. They exceed anyone else in fruit gathering or fighting, therefore making them a great aspect of the tribe. And the Roots. The royal bloodline is strictly defended, but still relatively active throughout the tribe. The tribe is dependent on them. Fire Opal is from the Fire family with her respectable rank. But what would a Root tribe nicheling be doing, searching the island for a quest given from the Roots, when she should be back on the island quelling the threat of the Blood family, a powerful bloodline that directly endangers the Roots? Maybe this is more like a spoiler than an actual backstory, but it's still necessarily cool for more backstory. Maybe next I'll get my Moons tribe to join in.4 points

The Burning Empire (189-193 days in) Will be posting another backstory post in a minute or two. Prepare The balance bear descended on Sakura, but her thick skin allowed her to block every blow it threw at her. Almond was incredibly angry at the balance bear, too. (I love her expression) Then, Forest went in with the killing blow. Another balance bear on the island, defeated. Sakura and Forest made a good team. Forest also went, afterwards, to meet her younger brother, Emu. He was a lot like her; vicious, powerful, but deep-down, soft and loving. She knew that she would train him well. Opal, although hesitant, decides to become mates with Moose. She loved the twisted-snouted nicheling, but she wanted to finish her quest first. But maybe.. maybe her task would take longer than she planned. (Nothing interesting happens for a while, so this is day 191.) The rebel group began a journey to track down the Frozen Empire. Opal's new plan was foolproof, if they timed it accurately. After all, plots to do stuff like.. what she was doing.. would have to be foolproof. She was trained for this moment, she wouldn't blow it. Almond had her first child, Salvador. A scarily good fruit gatherer that would be useful for any island but this one. M: "'Rebel group' don't have the same ring as 'Frozen Empire'. We need to pick a better name." Opal thought about her old tribe, and realized an idea.. Op: "What about the Burning Empire? Frost can't spread if it's all burnt out." And it's something dear to me. M: "That's a good name. the Burning Empire, to destroy the Frost."4 points

The next day, Nina comes out of her next to meet Alo. 'He's like his mother... times 1/4.' A bit frightened she says 'Hello Alo, I'm Nina!' He stares at her. 'I guess he's kinda cute. Nice set of teeth.' 'He can't understand you, and he can't talk back. In time he'll learn to recognize some words and expressions but typically bearyenas have their own language.'3 points

Baba sees them from a distance. She walks over and looks at the cub. Daisy doesn't know how she'll react. Coming from a tribe that lives among bearyenas, she must have a different idea of what to do about this. So she asks, 'What are we going to do?' Still watching the cub Baba says, 'I my tribe, when we had to kill the grown ups for food or safety reasons, whoever killed the mom's family had to look after the little one.' 'So we raise him?' 'Until he's grown.' 'Huh... in that case we'll need a name. Any ideas?' 'I like Alo.'3 points

The thought that aliens would all have 'male' and 'female' is kinda strange. Like sure okay reproduction but like they don't have to be just male and female, right? I can't remember where it came from, maybe a book or something, but it was a sci-fi something or other and one of the alien races was based on the gender 'Faesari', where all of them are feminine presenting (by our standards) but they're all genderless or something.3 points

In this challenge, your Nichelings are a flock of parrots! SETTINGS: Baby (Nestling): 2 days Child (Fledgeling): 3 days Teen (Young bird): 5 days Adult: 50 days Pregnancy: 3 days Turn rogue males off. (optional) Make all your Nichelings bird beak with double wings, a mask, stripes, or spots peacock tail/stinky tail/fishing tail/medium tail and brown, black, yellow, or orange eyes. The rest? Random! RULES: Start on a jungle island. You can have a grassland island if you're new or not good at surviving on hard islands. Only eat fruits and nuts. This means you can crack nuts to eat, collect berries, stinky fruit, or carnivore plant fruit, or pick nuts straight from trees. Yes, you can have coconuts. Meat from killing a bluebird is OK. More inticrate patterns are more favourable in mates. All Nichelings mate for life. If their mate dies, they never breed again. They also stay near their mate. If a female is pregnant, she MUST be in a nest! If she does not stick to this, make her baby take damage when it's born (a male can breed with her but then she must make a nest on the spot) Make nests on stumps and trees. Cycle through leadership. Pick a parrot to be leader for 3-5 days, an once that time is over, pick a new leader. You can use random numbers if you can't decide. The leader must be an adult. They are too old and not allowed to breed at five days before death from old age, but still stay with their mate. If a baby bird is sickly (double immunities, deformed paws, etc) kill them. Fly away from predators. If not possible, defend yourself. Bird themed names (Squak, Feather, Talon, Beaky, ect) If a birb has horns, call it a crest. Goal: Just enjoy controlling parrots. I did bird research for this. There is no goal, though you can set yourself any win condition you want. If you're a story player, see what tales you can make with your little birbs. Enjoy!1 point

The next day Daisy arrives. 'He's all grown up.' Says Baba. 'Yeah and I can't believe we grew a bearyena!' Nina shouts. 'What do you guys think about leaving today?' Baba says. 'Leaving?! The island?' Daisy exclaims. 'Yeah. We have a promising port right here and enough food to last us a while.' Baba says 'I'm ready!' Nina chimes in. 'I want to find me a lover from a distant land!' Daisy turns to the bearyena she helped raise. She remembers how small he was only a few days ago campared to the gentle giant he is now. He seems so much safer now then when he was shivering on the port that day, newly orphaned. They've done a good job. And she knows the time has come to leave. Baba and Nina are family now and Alo will always be too. She knows this but still finds it hard to go. She places her paw and his fur one last time and feels a rumble deep in his chest. 'Goodbye.'1 point

Multiple Oh no moments from the Community Challenge: (The first bird of the island spawns at same moment as bearyena) (The bearyena's almost dead, but one more hit and Andre the nicheling is dead and he's out of moves) (Thankfully these things end up working alright cause apparently bearyena AI isn't too great)1 point

"Ok.." The medicine cat was patient, "Chew the leaves with your teeth, then use your tongue to spit the leaves out.." she tried her best to make it clearer {Moon} Crystalpaw waited for you next to a big rock You reached her "C'mon, follow me. Shadowcreek and I usually start with fishing," Crystalpaw made her way out of camp, flicking her tail for you to follow {Star} The she-cat groomed you as you nursed1 point

When suddenly a little head pokes out of the grasses. 'Hey missy why so close to ma berries?' The little one spits. 'Your what?' 'MY B-! Say... I've never seen a rabbil of your size.' 'I'm not a rabbil.' 'Whatever you say missy.' 'It's Daisy.' 'Ok. I'm Nina! Are you a local?' 'No, just a traveler.' 'Same! Well, I'm lost, but a traveler no less!' Daisy is taken back by this youngsters attitude. And the fact that she's lost makes Daisy feel a sense of pity for the girl. After all, she too would be lying if she said she knew where she was going. 'Well than, why down you come with me?' 'With you? Where?' She looks around and suddenly notices the huge and only tree on the island. 'How bout the tree? I bet they have nuts there.' 'What tr- Oh wow! Sure, I'll split them with you 70/30.'1 point
