good morning chat my neighbor is moving out and he gave me 5 different speakers, a huuuge stereo, and a dvd player? i dont know how to use any of this (as in idk what ill use it for, I PROMISE I KNOW HOW TO USE SPEAKERS AND A DVD PLAYER) but i have them now? maybe when i get a car i can put the stereo in there. definitely thrilled about the dvd player though i love dvd players ...

thought of something thought provoking here we go the other day i saw a reel, i dont have it anymore, but it said "cats are known for meowing, dogs for barking, cows for mooing, etc. what sound do humans primarily make" and it was VERY hard to decide because we make a lot of sounds that other animals do, and speaking a language seems like the most obvious answer, but i finally figured it out: laughter. "but hyenas laugh?" maybe, but its not the same. im not gonna say animals arent capable of understanding humor, but its... different. there is no other animal on earth that laughs under the same circumstances as we do. hyenas sound like theyre laughing because humans are really good at pattern recognition and say "well that sounds like me, when i find something funny, so im going to relate the two with the same name". but hyenas arent laughing because they find something funny. i will say that humans do laugh for a number of different reasons (joy, nervousness, etc) but i think true laughter, from something so funny you simply cant contain yourself, is a trait unique to humans. i thought about this because i was sitting in my chair, laughing at something, and my sisters cat (on the desk beside me) looked at me like he was confused at my sounds. and i realized that he doesnt laugh, and he probably doesnt understand laughing. its just another sound us weird humans make. if you can find another animal that laughs similarly to humans ill gladly concede but i think thats it?

today i am listening to the distractable podcast and eating a bowl of eggdrop soup which has the consistency of jelly and its quite unpleasant. but i couldnt make it any more liquid-y so here i stand, suffering i also had a really weird nap earlier today. i woke up around 9 am and went back to sleep because i was lightheaded (this is usual for me, i have a few disabilities) and i feel like i didnt actually fall asleep until around... 11 ? and then i had a dream that felt like it lasted literal hours. like that dream was long and complicated and im still remembering stuff right now. but i woke up and it was 1 pm?? and eventually i got out of bed and started drawing nichelings. as i frequently do

It's supposed to be a representation of paranoia and anxiety. I have a shorter story I used for something else, and ig is a sort of "introduction" if you want that as a sort of reference for the story?

js gonna.. Through the Lens I took a seat on the rock ledge that gazed upon the lake. The sun was just setting beyond the mountain range, turning the water a pale blue. The moon rose behind me. I took hold of the camera that hung around my neck, holding it up facing the ball of fire, capturing its light and the way it reflected off of the water, its soft ripples caused by the fish that lived there. Here, I find solace in a world I cannot call my own. I sat there until the remaining warmth disappeared, giving way to the coolness of night and the gentle stare of the moon on my back. I stood only when I heard the dinner bell, leaving my spot on the ledge, and making my way home where my mother stood by the door, welcoming me with open arms into her home, and to the dining table where we ate freshly cooked chicken and rice, saving my father’s seat for when he returns home. I went to bed, knowing my mother would be up past midnight again. I lay on my back, staring at my white popcorn ceiling, pondering. She always seems so sad now… I’m not sure why, but I always hear a voice in the back of my mind telling me it’s my fault. \|/ My head pounded with a headache as I walked a room over into our small kitchen. My mother was nowhere to be seen–off to work, I’d assumed. She was always working until late, so I had grown used to being alone ever since she landed a job at some place two hours from home. I never understood why she had to go so far away just to be able to provide for her only living son. I didn’t question her actions, nor did I try to convince her otherwise. I found a bottle of pain relievers in the medicine cabinet above the sink and took two. I gazed outside the opposite window, watching the butterflies breeze by with the grass blowing in the other direction. The tree leaves drooped with the incoming rain. I fixed myself a glass of water before stepping barefoot on the porch, the smoothed wood still damp from last week’s storm. I stood there, wondering where it all went wrong. We were happy once, back when we lived in the countryside with open fields. We moved to this cabin about two summers ago, the place had been worn down and uncared for, but now it thrives and is, almost, in peak condition – if you don’t count the leaky ceiling and the moldy corners. We bought a small place in a secluded area, where there weren’t many other people. Our only neighbors were the birds, the squirrels, and the rustle of leaves dancing in the wind. I enjoyed coming outside and watching the rain or the birds whenever there were clear skies, which wasn’t very often. I found that I liked the rain, standing outside and watching as it crashed down into the dirt. And then it started again; small drops falling from the sky and landing on the edge of the patio where I stood. I spotted a small seven-legged arachnid scaling the gutter drain, moving slowly upward the web that hung in the corner. For a while, I watched, standing back and allowing nature to take hold, wondering if things could stay like this forever: peaceful. But I should know better than anyone that all good things must come to an end. It’s like that old saying, ‘the calm before the storm.’
