The 'Eek' reaction was altered by the devs. And yes, Eekling is supposed to be an alternative design (with non-implemented genes) for Magnolia, whom I have dubbed my 'nichesona' The reaction pic probably has no horn because there is no unihorn implemented in the games so it's less confusing
