~ Rainforest Rainbow Skittles ~ playthrough
bostonlobstah replied to bostonlobstah's topic in Discussion & Feedback
Derperella and Taro (Purr): A blossoming friendship I swear all these trees give me the jitters. Which ones will spawn the hell demons of terror that are the GREAT APES A cute baby wanderer is found. He doesn't have the best of genes, or the most useful, but he's awfully cute, and little yellow skittle Lemon seems to enjoy a new friend her age. This couple settles down for their last child. Raine and her baby Oranges. I was going to wait for her to have the child since she's so young but she landed in a nest by accident! Gaaah I hate how we have so many beautiful poison fangs and they are literally useless on this island besides the occasional bearyena poisoning Koi II is born. She's orange as well, like literally every other skittle. But she's still super cute!! Like father like son. (Also look at all the razorinas! I'm just waiting now for a double-clawed baby to be born!) We encounter a bearyena whilst exploring the other side of the river. Luckily no skittle is harmed and the bearyena is taken out swiftly thanks to Pedro the cat's powerful claw. What is it with the rainforest and big body!? I invited this lady in on a whim, without even looking at her genes. OOF. I guess she can...pick berries or something Our first Toxic Bodied baby, finally! Her name is Bananas and she is beautiful -
~ Rainforest Rainbow Skittles ~ playthrough

Thanks! I'm enjoying this tribe as well. Got so carried away that my tribe is getting kind of big...When I like the tribe it grows rapidly, and when it grows rapidly I lose track of screenshots, and it makes the playthrough less personal and story-oriented. Sorry about that, I'll try to fix it! I was thinking about mutating eye colors as well! I do have some green eyes but would love to get more colors in. -
~ Rainforest Rainbow Skittles ~ playthrough

I love Sila (Raine) too. I love the toxic fangs but they won't help me much :,( Yes you can! I stole it from someone else who named their chicken Derperella but it does fit really well with rogue/derpsnout females! -
I was inspired by the idea of colorful toxic bodies and have created this challenge idea It's an easy challenge; The hardest part is that it's in the rainforest sooo.... Basically I'm just trying to breed for fun colors and jungle genes and stuff. Aiming for bright colors, such as toxic colors, reds, yellows, and oranges and pinks with dots and stripes. Hence why they are called the "Rainbow Skittles." Also hope to give them fin/swimming or stinky tail, lean, toxic, or water body, and purr snout, big nose, cracker jaw, beak, bearyena snout or gills. For paws, velvet paws of course, but also claw and nimble fingers. So without further ado, let's begin! Also I'm sorry I haven't updated a lot of my other playthroughs, I got sidetracked and will hold off on my Whale Island and Mountain playthroughs. Also still need to post the results of my community challenge OOOHHhhh these are great starters! And the female has rec. purr snout as well! That will come in handy. The first child is born. Her name is Anasi. She's cute and pink and has double velvet paws. A great skittle for sure! A beautiful but shockingly green wanderer is found. A skittle-worthy dude named Electricity. Get IN to my tribe RIGHT NOW! I need that toxic body since I can't unlock it here ;-; Another wanderer is found. He doesn't have anything in particular that I'm looking for, but he has nimble fingers so that's cool Anasi and Electricity have a daughter with recessive toxic body! She was later renamed Koi, once I was sure my tribe wasn't going to instantly die The tribe is rapidly growing. Velvet paw and Purr Snout are still strong in the tribe. A male named Kuvanro is found (Later renamed Gargoyle). Why the heck does he have big body with recessive heat body!? Not like we need either of those genes The little Skittles discover that the piece of land they were on before is its own little island, being surrounded by rivers. That may come in handy if any dreaded Apes decide to show up. The tribe continues its growth with the birth of Derperella and Purr. Koi and Gargoyle start a family after Anasi's death. Meme is renamed Forest, and Sila is Raine. Lots of velvet paws, which I love!

thanks, I’m trying to get double claws for the razorhinas...is that enough fishing needed?
-
oh good idea problem is, I'm not on a snow biome lol
-
I might do a bit of my own testing in a minute. nothing beats wasting time on Niche instead of studying for your midterms lol
-
Update: I tried playing the Community challenge on Summer Mountains yesterday and survived 60 days. It rained some, and it was cold sometimes, but it never snowed once. Reminds me of the weather where I live right now XD No console was used this time, obviously. 🤔 I’m going to hold off my tribe that’s preparing for First Snow for now, in case there is no first snow at all!

Thanks for running the tests. So what do you think the best strategy is for surviving an ape? Go into the water and sacrifice a boring nicheling or two? Run to the nearest Whale Island port?
-
So here's my planned strategy: Everyone gets nimble fingers, runner legs, claws or velvet paws (claw and especially velvet paws are running rampant in the tribe right now) It's the start of a Rainbow/Easter Egg challenge, so I'm hoping to get creatures in yellow and red and white lean body and water body (for ape escape), but mostly toxic body. Colorful spots and stripes. Will use fin, swimming, and stinky tails... I have a lot of purr snouts and cracker jaws...and poison fangs even tho I just realized there are no poison berry bushes and apes are immune to poison rip. Hoping to get in more Big Nose. There's a little 'island' that's completely surrounded by rivers... there are only two jungle trees, neither have roots but I can't shake them...? I will probably have a nicheling or two as ape bait to save my rainbows too, eventually... Do you think this could work in the rainforest? Will crossing the river or going into the ocean be a good strategy to avoid the apes?
-
Thank you! Also if you cross a river, will the ape cross too? I hope the water is as OP as I thought

Community Challenge Playthrough (Rainforest)
bostonlobstah replied to mhiahia's topic in Discussion & Feedback
great work! I'm on Rainforest for the first time just for the heck of it...doing much better than I thought. Actually enjoying myself quite a bit. It's not that hard an island. I'm just afraid an ape is gonna pop out of nowhere and kill them all lol -
I played on Summer Mountains...survived for 60 days ;-; I will post my playthrough later it's pretty pathetic
-
Thanks anyway. I went next to both tree types that I saw and didn't see a 'shake' action. I guess I'm okay? There is a section of the island that is between two rivers so is isolated. It has different kinds of trees from the rest of the island, with no root thingys so I was wondering if I would be 100% safe if I lived there lol

tagging ppl online @Skysplash8 @Pokestardragacraft @bannergirl411 @Basil @Aetherskye because I'm totally in a rush rn XD
-
So um I am in the jungle for real for the first time It's rainforest yay doing ok so far. no apes. But wondering--there are different kinds of jungle trees--ones with big one-tile roots, trees with two-tile roots, ones with no roots, and short fat ones. Which ones spawn apes? Or do all of them spawn apes? Or each spawns a different kind of ape? Also Can apes cross rivers?

yes

The tribe is heading across the archipelago. Along the way, they bump into the most beautiful not-pink nicheling they have ever seen. Her name is Dragon Tear II (since her pattern is off OOF) and she knows the archipelago well. Bostonlobstah asks her if she could help to guide them to the next island. Dragon Tear II says yes, so she leads them to the last island in the archipelago chain. Meanwhile, the Forgotten Ones who were left behind on the first island have grown old without Bostonlobstah's magic. Pippin is the first fatality after 74 days. After saying goodbye to everyone being left behind, 10 nichelings move on to their first Medium-level island: Adam 2.0, Bostonlobstah, Stacey, Sense, Sensibility, Snowchild, Avrie, Adeline, Poozie and Frosty. The tribe finds themselves in a strange new land--with a huge and odd--looking port on the side.

please don't take any offense it was really hard to pick XD

I kept accidentally checking the genes. I put that save file away and will pull it out again when the sandbox update comes
