I think it would add to the excitement of sumo tournament matches if each tier (1-10) had a different background image that would visually cue advancement. If ten backgrounds would be a lot of work, then you could either recolor them along a spectrum (say, from grey to blue to gold), create fewer backgrounds for tier brackets (so one for matches 1-3, one for 4-6, one for 7-9, and one for the final), or open it up to a design competition among players to submit their own.

The simplest implementation would simply be to make the player's drone on the left reddish (as if heated) and the opponents drone on the right bluish (as if chilled). That way as parts are flying around the arena, it would be easier to track which part belongs to who. Alternately, it could be cool to have each player choose a color for their drones, and have their sumo drones tinted that color (if not all of their drones, including those that visit planets). This could be annoying, though, if both sumo drones' designers chose the same color. Additionally to either option, it might be neat to allow players to design heraldry that could be displayed on their CPU's.

I missed the kickstarter by one day. I was quite bummed about that.

This is a great game. I really enjoyed the demo.
