As a Finn, I can give you some advice. Get some warm clothes. Jackets, pants, wool hats, mittens, wool socks, winter boots and a scarf. Get lots of warm blankets. Make sure you never run out of firewood if you have a fireplace. Cocoa powder and tea/coffee are also required to survive this long dark time. If you have time, go to the library and stack up on good books. For practise, I suggest you play The Long Dark until you can make it for at least two in-game days. After that you might survive the real world. The winter can be tough, but after a couple of years you might be ready to go outside and have some fun in the snow. Build a castle, a snowman or a snow horse. Maybe even go skiing, ice skating or sledding. I hope this was any help in staying alive in winter!

There's still the issue of changing our minds... Sometimes I scroll through old suggestions and wonder "Why did I upvote this?"

Where is my downvote button? Was it too rude to have the option of voting down? Were people being mean with their votes? If so, I understand. But, what if I accidentally upvote something I really don't want in Niche? How will I remove that vote?

So apparently all sanbox settings are set in the beginning and can't be changed later. So that's what this is. You set a tribe size limit in the customization menu and from now on that's the max ammount of nichelings you can have. If your tribe is maxed out, you can't invite any wanderers into your tribe and females won't give birth even when they're on nests. If you have, for example, two slots open and three females on a nest, the higher ranked females give birth. If they have the same rank, the oldest gives birth first. If for some reason you have three beta females who all have the same ammount of life left, then its random.

First of all, credit to @Skysplash8 for the original idea and to @Basil for inspiration. So, like many other people, I did the mistake of not screeshotting the genes of my beautiful nicheling... Help me find her pattern and I'll draw two of your nichelings!

It's only that way with spots

This is a weird funny idea that I just had. So if you toggle this on in the sanbox customization menu, you can find Eve in an iceblock. And by Eve, I mean this: Because she's kinda ancient. And the important part? She's pregnant with Adam's child and if you let her give birth, the baby will have home island immunity! With that you can get round ears on home island. Of course you can only find Eve once and the chances of finding her are really small. Still it could get pretty annoying if you're just going for the ice genes, so toggling it off has to be an option. And also this can't happen in storymode. Anyways, it's just something that long time players might enjoy.

What about creating our starters? Will we have a "randomize dot placement" button? Also that means there will never be an exact clone of Ossen...

My 80+ tribe still exists on that same archipelago. I'm not sure about the current tribe size, but I have around 3000 food...
