Ooo the MBTI quizz! Make sure to look up memes for your type!

Here's Sundew. She's a member of the Swamp group (ignore the horrible background, it's trying to be a swamp with cloudberries)

Too late I'm already drawing lol

I think your main problem is the muddy lineart. Your lines sometimes look a bit wobbly and the ends of the lines go over other lines. I can't help you with the wobbliness, but you could try and clean up stuff like this That being said, there is a certain fluidness to your linework that I really like and you know how to make interesting poses. Keep up the good work!

Yep! I figured some people could still benefit from a more detailed look at the anatomy of each gene

I wonder how WishPaw feels now that his real father has been revealed. Is he angry at QuillBlaze for lying? Did he know all along? Does he still consider SpottedFrost his father?

2. Runner leg Ok, this one was a bit hard since drawing legs and paws is very internalized for me and I can usually do it without sketching guidelines or thinking about it much. That's why it's not fully step by step. I hope this is still helpful to at least someone. My interpretation is a mix of cat and dog Ok, so here is an extremely simplified bone structure Here's how the leg connects to the rest of the body Mimicking the bone structure draw circles for the shoulder, paw and the elbow (missing from the picture, here it's just the angle between two lines). Then connect the circles Beef up the leg a bit Don't draw the lineart where the leg is fully connected to the body. (Do draw the shoulder though! I left it out here because I didn't draw the rest of the body) The pink lines show which direction the fur flows (Keep in mind that longer fur is heavier and flows mostly downwards) When lifted up, the joints bend like this Here are the basic shapes for a front view Paw time! (Thumb optional)

1. Short snout Let's start with the most basic (and useless) head gene! Start by drawing the usual circle and cross The horizontal line dictates the height of the eyes, while the vertical one shows where the nicheling is looking Draw a smaller circle under the horizontal line. This will be the muzzle If you aren't doing a front view, connect the two circles Draw the eyes, nose and mouth. You should be able to fit a third eye between the eyes. If you prefer drawing the nose first, the eyes should line up with its sides. I won't go into too much detail about the ears since there are different types of them, but they should be placed somewhat like this. (The pink lines are optional to the sketch) When doing the lineart, add some fur. Make sure that everything lines up. Don't make the neck too thin (unless that's your style) Keep these lines in mind when shading

So there's a small trend of cat tutorials going around and I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon but change it up a bit and do something I haven't seen done before. (I did find a tutorial on steam after googling it) So I'm going to teach you the basics of drawing nichelings. Keep in mind that this is only my way of doing things and a lot of people prefer to stylize the genes in their unique way. However I hope that this might help someone who's still learning or struggling with a specific gene. I may also approach some of the genes with a style that's closer to the actual game models. So what genes or gene combos would you like to see tutorials for?

Fanart for this playthrough: ✈️🌠 Can we pretend that airplanes on the night sky are like shooting stars? I could really use a wish right now, wish right now, wish right now 🛬🌟

I turned on a chroma layer on something I'm working on and I think I'm finally getting a grasp on values
-
Apparently they're called blending modes https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/blending_modes.html

hOw DId yOU GuEsS? Glad you like it

Layer modes dictate how the layer interacts with the layers below

Yep. I've left him alone with them multiple times and the only thing that went wrong was that one time when the den flooded and stranger wolves came. RIP Kaivo and Mustikka Naakka is honestly the best mate I've ever had in WQ and I don't know what I'll do if he dies

Aaaa yes the person who wrote Passerine should be a published author!

I don't know much about humanoid anatomy, so can't help you there. (You seem to have a pretty good grasp on it anyways) I guess you could add a second layer of softer shading to match the mood of the scene, as well as a highlights layer (set to something like "soft light", "screen" or "addition"). Lastly you could play around with reflected light

Does color choise come naturally to you or have you spent the last 52 years studying color theory? The last 2 paintings have such an interesting feel. The way you color and shade works really well with your style Sorry I couldn't give criticism. I don't know anything about drawing humans

Great work, the anatomy is a lot better already!

Does your art program have layer modes? If so, try multiply with different colors. It's a ton of fun and adds more depth to your art
