  1. Niche is all about adapting and thriving in your environment, as your nichelings evolve to fit the island you live in. However, once you are fully adapted to an island, you have to move on or nothing new will happen. In real life, species often evolve to keep up with other species. What I mean is that it would be really cool if there was the option to make the other species in the islands adapt too. It would make your time in the island much more entertaining and challenging. With this mode turned on, other animals have a chance of randomly mutating an extra stat, like a bunny with extra speed, bad eyesight, defense or more collecting. If depending on how well and how long this animal survives, it has a better or worse chance of "breeding". If it succeeds, other members of its kind will spawn with that extra stat, and over time, the stats that get passed on may completely change the species. For example, you could end up with a plague of faster, smarter bunnies with more defense, or a ridiculously overpowered bear with maximum speed. But you could also try to manipulate the populations, for example, killing bunnies with good stats and keeping ones with bad stats, eventually creating a population of blind, easy to catch bunnies. Maybe, cosmetic and behavioral mutations could also be added, like the chance for a dodomingo to be black or pink or an ape that does not like to attack nichelings. This would definitely make each island you visit more interesting, and more realistic!
  2. That feeling when you get jump scared by an ape And that feeling when you run into a carnivore plant while fleeing from that ape.
  3. wait, when did you become a moderator? you grew up so fast! how do you become one?
  4. Maybe you discovered a creature that has not been implemented yet! Or just a weird code name for an existing animal.
  5. Yes, your eyes didnt fool you, Jojo has a secret! After extensive research, from the fact that he prefers big body over lean body, to the fact that one of his nichelings was named thornstar( which sounds oddly familiar coughplatinumcough) I discovered that Jojo is not actually Jojo, as shown by the existence of thornstar( platinum)... He is Jotaro!!!!!!!!!
  6. Well, balance bears can surely hold their breath and dive to find fish. After all, they are like polar bears but even more suited to water!
  7. Yeah, it would be great to have some lore about the world, and how the dodomingo gods created it! But, about the walrus deer, I think that in the killer mountains they eat clams and clovers, and maybe they follow nichelings hoping to steal a root.
  8. Well, this was what I thinked after watching some of jessimew's videos. The walrus deer just walk into the nicheling's greedy paws and no matter how many times they are attacked, they keep coming back! Do they have a fear stat? Why do they tend towander into nichelings? Also, what goes trough the mind of the ramfoxes? They dont seem to be too fierce, Its as if they only liked hunting bunnies.
  9. Armor body and wings and poison and saber fangs and peackock tail. Armor body lets youn "tame" animals. It would be really cool if one of your armor body nichelings tamed a pack of ramfoxes and used them to hunt rabbils
  10. That is actually her hunting strategy. She makes you fall for her cuteness, and then she brutally murders you!
  11. While responding to a comment from Goggles-Kun, I came to a realization. There is a good reason while there may never be mods in niche. If we consider it, people could make a lot of horrible things, like turning predators into levitating organs, including certain traumatizing diseases, altering some genes so they look more... realistic, and even turning the heads of every creature into purr snout heads to stare into our souls, and make hordes of rogue purr snouts spawn and stare even more. And anyone could install these mods. Also modding could make some less interested in the updates.
  12. Well, they are hybrids, hybrid is not a species name.
  13. If your kids have watched videos of it then they will probably understand it well. The only problem is that some islands may be a bit difficult for a seven year old, but It surely wont matter on the long run. Well, they may be jump scared by apes in the jungle levels... Just kidding. The apes look quite funny.
  14. Rerasi shall be renamed: Weak bear! or Cute Bear.
  15. Here you can share pictures of the animals of the niche world that you are fond of, either because that particular one showed up in a decisive moment, was in a really awesome pose( like a dodomingo on a stump showing his power to his subordinates) or because you took it as a pet because it was harmless.
  16. Would you like this to be the official name for the species that results from breeding a nichelibg and a bearyena?
  17. I think this would require a specific gene. There are MANY types of venom, and the venom from poison fangs is one that only causes damage over time. There could be a different variant of poison fangs with paralyzing venom.
  18. This makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint. Of course the short snout would become rare when every other snout is more useful.
  19. Peaceful herbivore challenge: You cant attack any other animal, including rogue males. You can only run and breed in the best genes to deter predators. Lions of the skies challenge: You must have a tribe of mostly males and only one or two permanent females. You release females when they are two gemmed and the males have to find them to mate when the become adults. Then, they can mate 1 to 3 times before the female is released again. Your goal is to unlock all bird genes. Peackock tail will aid you in mating songs for the females and wings will help you search for them if they are not attracted. Males get a better rank depending on their strength, beauty, leadership and how many females they have attracted. As a bonus, if you are in a snowy island you could have a set breeding season in a set breeding ground. For example, when it snows, the males call the females and bring them to the breeding ground so they can keep warm and start families, and when the snow stops, the females are released again to continue their solitary and adventurous lives.
  20. I think this guy does have evil intent while all other rogues just want love.
  21. Many niche players have tribes with a really complex story behind them. They have their gods and legends of how everything came to be, and they have traditions and culture and different relations with the creatures surrounding them. I want to know what is your tribe's lore! Mine would be self explanatory. ALL HAIL THE DODOMINGO!
  22. Something tells me that baby grew up to be a depressive goth who hated everyone in the tribe... Or she forgot her mother had been murdered when she was given food.
