  1. It could be under 'World Settings' where you can click to stop certain islands appearing.
  2. Of course, making 1-10 presets would be better for percentages. It'd be really nice if you could make a separate list of names for each preset but that's a stretch goal.
  3. +6 flying, 1+ collecting, +1fishing and +1 strength seems overpowered. What about: +2 flying if the creatures has two wings +1 strength +1 fishing The archeopteryx was carnivorous and glided so this seems more accurate.
  4. I know that this is an old thread but I'll try to help in case someone else has this problem. First: Back up the save file (%appdata%>LocalLow>TeamNiche>Saves (then what ever slot it is). Second: Restart your computer. If that doesn't fix the problem than you can back up all your saves and uninstall-reinstall Niche Third: Make sure you have the correct version and have reported the problem to here. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what you can do.
  5. Here is what I'm thinking: A map that you could access from in your game that would show all the islands you've been to, how long you were there and what creatures you took with you to the next island. Note that it would only show what type of island it was and not what the island looked like. Although it would show what type of creature you took to the next island including their names, ages, genes and hopefully them on a family tree with their parents.
  6. What about having nests in the trees that they come from? Nichelings will have to be able to share a tile with them. Also, instead of gold what about reddish gold or red and gold? Perhaps they could also eat from smelly fruit trees and friendly carnivorous plants or eat nuts?
  7. How about distasteful appearance instead of defense?
  8. I'm hoping it wouldn't be too hard to code in. Unlike some of the world-creating ideas. And eventually we might get more things built of it like the ability to set the number of trees or berry bushes and so on.
  9. 2% chance would be better. Or 2% on an easy island, 5% on medium, 10% on hard and 15% on killer?
  10. It could spawn from berry bushes or something? I'm not sure. Good idea though.
  11. Yep, basically. I'd recommend starting with about a 100 food and 20 nesting material. The goal is to reach the killer snows and try to keep enough food.
  12. So it has to give +1 swimming (all hindlegs do). Instead of speed it could give +1 flying (since raptors fly pretty far) and that'd make sure the creature could move. To give it both fishing and strength there'd have to be a counter balance. Like -1 collecting and digging because raptors don't eat worms, roots or berries. So: +1 Swimming +1 Flying +1 or 2 Strength +1 or 2 Fishing -1 berry collecting and digging
  13. This is a challenge where you need to gather lots of food. Rules: (use however many make sense, there are a lot) You can only move to the north (or towards snow, always go to snow if you see it) You cannot go to the savanna or jungle You can only stay at an island for just under a nicheling's lifetime (if they live for 30 days you can only stay on an island for 25-29 days) No inbreeding (based on the family tree) If you encounter poison berry bushes, rabbits or rouge males you must leave the island (as quickly as possible) You cannot invite a wanderer to join you if they have no gathering or nut cracking skills Ban: Moles, roots, termite hills, cacti, desert bushes, friendly man-eating plants Females will only give birth if they are within 2 blocks of a tree Patternless or colourless nichelings cannot have children (albino, no pattern etc) You cannot mutate color or pattern genes, fertility genes, ancient genes or collecting genes Only two nichelings at a time may have mutations Put hunger damage to 100
  14. It'd be nice to change settings without making a new tribe. So what if every time you moved to a new island you could edit your settings? For instance you could ban berry bushes or change hunger damage or change the amount of food your tribe has without console commands.
  15. Like the title suggests this island would have a clearing in the middle with no grass. Surrounding the clearing would be a thick ring of regrowing grass. In the clearing there could be a small lake, roots, permanent nests, bunny burrows, that sort of thing. In the regrowing grass there could be a couple trees, berry bushes, overall more food but more danger from bearenas and bears.
  16. That's a great idea. Would they be hostile to nichelings or just neutral? Perhaps they could hunt dodomingos (since no creature does) and sometimes draw in bearenas.
  17. All bunnies appear a solid white but that's not very realistic - if there could be brown, grey or black rabbits too it would add a lot to them and add a touch of life to the game.
  18. It should be a different colour. Maybe darkish brown-grey? Sort of like an eagle or owl or crow? Or a mix. bluebirds move with every turn but if you wanted to make the bird more different it could move at night - like an owl.
  19. Perhaps only the Cane Toad body or the head should have distasteful appearance.
  20. We can set what we want our starting nichelings to are like but we can't set what wanderers will be. It is annoying in challenges when you can't get the nichelings that you want or by chance lose a lot of the challenge with really good nichelings. So what if, we could choose what wanderers could be? For it to work, you could make 1-9ish molds - the same way we change what the starting nichelings are like - and then everytime a wanderer spawns, the game randomly chooses one of the molds and that's the wanderer you'll get. This way you could make it so that all wanderers have a certain gene, have a reduced chance of having certain genes or something else. You could make all wanderers blind, sick and infertile or have it so that only 1 in 8 wanderers are male or female.
  21. Because customizing islands is both popular but also hard to do, this is a compromise: Simply being able to randomize an island - including ports - each time you go to a new one until you find one that you like. This would cut out the steps of reloading a previous save over and over and make challenges easier - because you could have the exact port you want, the right amount of grass or trees. Example: If you are doing a challenge a where you need to go to the jungle from a snow island, when you get to the snow island you could randomize it until you get a jungle port. You could also randomize until you have the right amount of trees, grass, hotsprings and icebergs. How it could work: Each time you go to a new island you could see what it looks like, what the ports are, how many trees there are etc. If you don't like the look of it, you could click a button that would randomize it until you are pleased with it. Also, this could allow a foundation for saving islands and further customizing although that's in the distant future.
  22. I have had the same issue! Sick creatures no longer make other creatures sick. As of the 1.1.1 update.
