  1. oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh thanks!
  2. He was about to, his mate was just about to give birth, but his mother and his siblings were still alive, so he should have been there (I rage quit when I realised he was totally gone....)
  3. I just had a bearyena kill one of my nichelings so hard that he wasn't even on the family tree anymore! What the heck?
  4. Very quickly, the Fish Tail Clan found themselves fanned out across the jungle shores, searching for food. They had sensed the danger lurking in the darkness of the meat eating plants and knew to avoid them as best as possible However, more familiar dangers still surround them, between the leaches and the predators. Even as new members join the clan, some of the clan's youngest members find themselves in a risky situation Strangely enough, a number of days pass with the Bearyena just hanging out beside the one winged baby. Sadly, this was a truce that could not last forever, but even so, the denizens of the area around the stinky fruit tree would not leave, instead choosing to carefully make their way around, avoiding the danger One misstep however, and...
  5. This bearyena and baby came into the wrong neighbourhood
  6. That eye look is on point though! Wish I could get my mascara that nice
  7. Remember the glitch where peaceful bears/dodomingos etc would show up in smell/hearing mode but not in vision? I got an invisible bunny! (of course, when I moved it moved, so I couldn't get close enough to it to get it to show up in vision) Slot2.nichesave
  8. I love this idea! I definitely wanna give it a go (okay, slight problem, what do I do if I'm not getting any boys born so there's a tonne of girls and no one to fight for them?)
  9. This sounds like fun! I will definitely give this a go
  10. So back when the sandbox mode was first raised as a possibility, I got really excited about creating the most aesthetic nicheling I could. Which is fun, but I thought, could be more challenging. This is Opal I've attached the sandbox settings here. You start with all genes unlocked and blind gene mode on. You also have a twenty nicheling tribe limit. The goal is to breed a nicheling that looks like Opal as quickly as you can (recessive genes and immunities don't matter). This probably won't be a particularly hard challenge, but I feel like it might be a little more fun. If you decide to have a go, I'd love to see your Opal clones and how long it took you (if the sandbox settings don't work, let me know and I'll post all the details of the settings) Aesthetic Challenge.sandbox
  11. With so many clan members and a constant vigilant eye, the shores and surrounding waters held no danger to the Fish Tail clan and they safely cross the waters between them and their new home But the journey is not without risk Though forced to leave behind some of their number, enough nichelings make it to the ports to continue the legacy of the Fish Tail Clan in whatever land they find themselves next But will this jungle land, filled with new threats and new opportunities be their salvation or their doom
  12. Things were heating up in the Fish Tail Clan's little home base, with bearyenas and defender bears surrounding the entire area, so a migration was needed. Unfortunately, not everyone made it to the safety of the new home base and a defender bear followed them, but at the same time they did manage to invite in another wanderer, even with food being so scarce. With his poison body and his poison fangs, Mondon proves to be a source of salvation, easily and safely able to snatch up the poison berries for the tribe, supplying the clan with a good amount of additional food that not even the bunnies would steal from them. The nearby stream even provided a source of fish, with no fear of leaches. Back in the old base, the creatures who had been left behind during the migration found themselves to be in great danger, as predators surrounded them, forcing them to flee Almost sixty days in to their journey, and what had once been a small and struggling family of one was now a tribe to be reckoned with. But the dangers hadn't passed them by just yet. Minnit'a's death at the paws of a bearyena spurs the tribe to move once again, this time driven by Tempest and Minnit'a's own sons, in an attempt to flee the dangers of this place and find somewhere safer for their clan
  13. Note - the number of creatures I've killed by accidentally hitting the wrong option in this playthrough is astronomical
  14. Niche is reinstalled, my saves are still there and hopefully everything is okay with my computer! Now to return to play
  15. Thank you! I do have back ups of all my saves, but they are on the same hard drive. Hopefully that's not failing on me though...
  16. So I got home and saw that there's a new update on the tester branch and thought, yay! I'll play more niche! I go into steam to update niche and my entire computer just went insane.... One restart later, and my computer is working again but horror of horrors, Niche got uninstalled somehow My more computer literate friend thinks that what happened is something went wrong during the update with my hard drive and so the update cancelled, but it cancelled having cleared out the old version already Now I have to back everything up off my hard drive and re-install Niche which, given terrible Australian internet, is probably going to take ten hours Hopefully the Fish Tail Clan will have survived this nightmare (my saves still seem to be there so fingers crossed)
  17. I've had this happen with some of the other cold islands, I didn't report it since I saw it more as a bonus than a glitch If it happens again I'll save the game file and tag you
  18. Minnit'a and Moniesel's first baby is born right next the berry bush, but unfortunately, is born sharing his father's curse Though Minnit'a knows the value of the digging paw and the ram horns adorning her baby's crown, she is also aware that food is sparse and that sometimes sacrifices must be made for the good of the tribe. Leaving Tempest to watch her baby, she companies Moniesel on his hunt for more roots, lighting the path. Unfortunately it is not just roots waiting for them in the dark Desperately trying to toddle after his mother, the little baby is scooped up by a bird, just as another baby scoots her way to the safety of Tempest's large claw Food is in starting to become very in demand, with decisions having to be made about who will be eating if the worst should happen and not enough food for the night is found. In the distance, the sound of timid paws can be heard, but without enough food even for themselves, the Fish Tail clan cannot entice the creature into their midst Many days pass, with all members of the clan focused only survival and gathering enough food to get through each night. Until one day, a very strange creature appears, scooping up some berries for themselves. Though they do not have a large amount of food to spare, Minnit'a is so fascinated by this strange creature that she invites him to join them
  19. Thanks to @Skysplash8 for the fun challenge! We start with a strong fishing baby, who finds herself sentenced to remain away from the shores for fear of leeches And what a reasonable fear it is as well, with two leeches dancing across the shores, frustrated and unable to reach her She stays close to her berry bush, trying to collect as much food as she can. And lucky she does too, as a blind wanderer comes stumbling into her path Now that she has company, Minnit'a can risk the narrow land bridge between her little home and the rest of the island. The pair of them delve into the dark, chasing the distant scent of roots and berries. On their way, they find a sweet little girl who shares quite the resemblance with Minnit'a
  20. I'm gonna die immediately, but I'm totally in!
  21. I opened two more, one I got a nice armoured nicheling....the other one I got a sick megaloceros horned nicheling RNG is not with us it seems
  22. I have now opened five glaciers and gotten four nichelings with the megaloceros horns and one with the mammoth foot. I'm just about ready to rage quit the snow lands all together. Please sure with me your tales of bad glacier luck so I don't feel so bad
  23. This sounds like the challenge for me! (I have a terrible habit of just continuing to have nichelings have babies until one is perfect and let's be real there's no such thing as perfect)
