  1. So we already have our classic permanent nest, super cozy and inviting, right? But it doesn't really fit in say, the mountains. That lush green grass laced in with the nest doesn't look... natural. We can say the same for the nests in the Savannah, Swamps, and even Jungles (not being able to find the hay colored material there). I think this would be a nice little touch that would make the game a bit more realistic. Mountain Permanent Nests: First Snow, Summer Mountains, Long Winter, Frost Lands. These nests would be a dark grey in color with white bits and patches representing those nesting material plants that are scattered around the mountains. They would also not be nestled inside a hollowed out tree trunk, but instead a hollowed out worn down rock. They could also have small hints of green here and there to represent the grasses that could be collected on the edge of the mountain islands, but this probably wouldn't be likely since some mountain islands don't have that green grass on the edges. (Hard difficulty). Grassland Permanent Nests: Tiny Green, Peaceful Meadow, Grass Adventure, Archipelago, First Snow [grass area], Grass Mingle, Summer Mountains [grass area], Crossing, Deadly Hills, Home Island, Whale Island. These would stay the same as they are. They already fit perfectly on their islands, the colors corresponding perfectly with the grasses and plants. Savannah Permanent Nests: Grass Adventure, Burning Savannah, Oasis, Grass Mingle. These nests would be the same color as the brittle grass around them. They would look sort of like a manually built nest but would have smears of mud and sturdy roots and sticks wrapping around it to give it a more permanent touch and look. A small dip in the ground would keep these nests in place with the cool soil touching the nest to cool down any babies inside of them. You will usually find these nests under the shady trees but you can find them scattered all over the island. Swamp Permanent Nests: Swampy Hill, Grass Adventure, Grass Mingle, Sleepy Reeds. Swamp permanent nests would be built inside dried up mud puddles that bug swarms would generally spawn in (don't worry they wont ever spawn on permanent nests in the swamps since the puddles are dried up). They would be made out of the thick, dense reeds that are scattered around swamps along with some of that nesting material plant that you sometimes find around the swamp island. Around the nest would be a thick layer of protective thorns that discourages outsiders to approach willingly but encourages Nichelings to bear their children in those nests for protection. Jungle Permanent Nests: Rainforest, Overgrown Jungle, Jungle Gate, Deep Jungle. These nests would be the most colorful of them all. It would include all the different colors of grasses in the jungle, including blues, greens and yellows. Small hints of pink would be in the nest as well representing flower petals. The swirly grass of the jungle would stick out here and there on the nests, representing a slightly messy yet cozy build. Permanent nests would most likely be specifically found near the base of those giant jungle trees entangled within the roots of the tree but can also be found scattered around in other locations too. In the other locations, they are just built out of large roots found around the island that give it shape. In conclusion, this would just be a nice little touch to the game that would make it a bit more realistic. Even though some people might not even notice the change, many people would, resulting in a more enjoyable experience with a realistic touch. (Don't get me wrong the game is super enjoyable just as it is but this would just add to the realistic factor) Credits to XzanderClownfish for creating the original topic, I just wanted to elaborate more ^^ Thank you for reading!
  2. Sorry for the late response, no I'm not playing on Linux I'm using Windows.
  3. After seeing a post about implementing albino wildlife, I just knew I had to make a post about wildlife with melanism genes. Having creatures other than Nichelings with melanism would be so cool! This would also add a hint of challenge because the black fur would allow the wildlife to not be seen as easily but you could obviously scent them just as easily as a normal creature. This could literally apply to any creature in the game, including Stagmoles, Rabbils, Bearynas, and even possibly creatures in the jungle biomes and the snowy biomes. Similar to the mention in Lilytuft's post, I think that you would also be able to have the ability to earn achievements for killing creatures with melanism because... well... it's not every day you'd see a melanistic Bearyna! Lilytuft's post about Albino Wildlife ^^^
  4. Not much to say about this, I was able to fix it with just closing and reopening the game. Never seen this bug before.
  5. Alrighty, I fixed up the stats to make it a bit more realistic. I haven't done something like this before and I was taking inspiration from the bearyna genes stats, so thanks for the feedback!
  6. Alrighty, lemme edit this right now, and I didn't know about the other post oof. Maybe if better water biomes get accepted these ideas could possibly get mixed!
  7. Unsure if this has been mentioned yet, but I would like to put in my ideas of what could possibly be added to the underwater world. The Underwater World is super barren right now, only being able to find seaweed, clams, rocks, fish, worms, and leeches. I have a few ideas of things that could be added to make this world much more lively. ISLANDS Basically, there'd be islands with a ton more water and lots more places to swim compared to your average big island. The island would be small, maybe the size of tiny green, while the rest of the island would be places that can be swam through by Nichelings. Take the grass mingle island for example, cut that to the size of tiny green but leave all that extra island space to the water. Picture example: PREDATORS I know that the Razorina is already somewhat of a predator, but they only attack you if you are bleeding. How about, for somewhat of a challenge, have a predator like the Bearyna that will attack you for no other purpose than food. It would have similar behavior like the Bearyna but obviously be different. This creature's name would be the Sharkidile, a cross between a shark and a crocodile. You could also find a mother with a baby and tame the baby for its genes, just like the Bearyna! Here's a picture of what I think it would look like, sorry it's kinda sloppy I rushed it: Genes you could get from a friendly Sharkidile: - Sharkidile Snout (2+ fishing, 1+ defense, 1+ smelling) - Water body (2+ swimming, 1+ scentless, underwater breathing) - Fin tail (2+ swimming, -1 Cold resistance) - Sharkidile Claw (2+ fishing, 1+ attack, 1+ swimming) - Sharkidile Eyes (2+ underwater sight, 1+ dry land sight) - Yellow Eyes - New Pattern (Overcoat color and undercoat color, affects camouflage in water, +2 camouflage) FOOD Definitely a lot more food needs to be added. More types of fish and things similar to the berry bushes on land. Examples in pics below: I'm still currently in the process of thinking of things that could be added to the underwater world of Niche. If I do get more ideas, then be sure to look for for a part 2 to this idea! Please feel free to suggest anything.
