One of my canines also had to be pulled at some point. It couldn't fall out and needed deep surgery. Now I'm missing a good chunk of gums and need religious toothcare. You're better off with an ugly tooth than whatever shit they might inflict in the process at times. My mother always regretted that they filed her teeth into shape. She had some pretty vampiric canines. They're normal now, but she's stuck with absurd sensitivity to the cold.
So "pretty" now. Already had to get treatment at 18 because the tooth has been weakened. Don't let them mess up your body with unnecessary steps. Looks aren't everything. On the bright side, I now have a pretty neat trick to instantly disgust people with an exposed tooth. Yay.

I will know your pain soon, my teeth are so messed up (one is literally SIDEWAYS) that my dentist's only hope is to wait until all my baby teeth fall out, randomly pull out a few of my adult teeth, give me braces and hope to dear god the remaining teeth might just magically fall into place
My mother had the worst form of teeth missalignment possible. That's not hyperbole. Literally. the. most.messed up. form. Her teeth are perfectly straight today, but they did pull some molars. So there's hope at least...

If your hygiene improves or drops, you might be left with lines when they come off. That's why people say you shouldn't eat too many sweets or go after softdrinks. Wasn't an issue for me, but you might want to keep it in mind.
Grinding teeth was an issue, though. While asleep, your teeth might get deep 'scars' from an already damaging habit. In that case, be sure to always keep an eye out for abnormalities, as you'll be much more vulnerable to tooth decay.
If you get a headache (they're rare but serious), always take some Ibuprofen or pain medication as soon as possible. Pain relief is much less effective after the onset.
To the disgusting part... again, I'm a toothgrinder. It's not just my teeth that were scared, but also the checks. Apply Nivea or something else to your lips at night. If you didn't and your lips are a split mess, cut torn skin off with a scissor. They'll look better, feel better and heal faster.
You might want to take up flossing if you ever had a cavity. I have strong teeth, so it wasn't necessary. Still, you're better save than sorry. Don't overdo it though, or try it at all if your gums are sensitive. I know that some doctors recommend it especially in that case, but it was an absolute nightmare and waste of time. 11/10 would not floss again.
Aside from that, you might want to read up on different forms of tooth detoriation. It helps if you understand the process and information is readily available. However, getting stuff stuck in your braces is quite uncomfortable, so I doubt you'll slack off on hygiene. Still, getting things stuck isn't that easy to accomplish and it's usually easy to remove. So don't worry about food.
Ah - one thing, though. Since someone recommended ice cream. I had headaches rarely, but overall sensitivity is increased. You'll only notice when they come off.... but there were days when I couldn't even drink cold water. You can guess what that means for even colder stuff... so you propably really will want to eat it while you can. It only gets worse over the months and with bigger wires.

Too little or too much challenge is really just subjected to what kind of story you're interested in. If it's survival and hard choices, I'd remove healing. If you want some fights without ruining the current story, I'd say it depends on your numbers. If you expect about three enemies with 4 fighters, dodging and protecting a nursery won't work. Healing is less important than damage multipliers, if a basic attack does >20% damage. But in a tribe of 20, it really doesn't matter how much of a punch they pack. You can dodge easily enough and have enough turns for attack. That's why AHVHC becomes too easy when you're strong and fast enough. Own numbers vs. enemy damage is a really important factor, and I can't give you advice on that with or without knowing specifics.

That could actually happen

Silver’s mate does have full on white fur, so is it required to have offspring with full white fur instead of gray?
I don't know. It's your choice, but having white + any would be the easier route, while pure white is a moving target. Might be too hard to keep up, unless you get strong quite fast.

Hm... maybe you could start on Deadly Hills? Longer lifespans and all, around 50. Then try to survive for 5 generations, though Silver's blood can never go extinct. If he or his children die out, it's game over. You can add more challenge by say, needing an heir with the white fur gene.
The Wanderer challenge is hard in a different way. I recommend grass mingle or adventure. However, you're not allowed to have children. Lifespans should be between 50-70 days, but start with at least 3 nichelings.
I doubt that you want Silver in anything more deadly. Still, my favourite challenge of all is....
Start on deadly hills with fully crippled nichelings (double no paw, double derp, etc). Give them stinky tail, lean body and the double hornless trait. Fertility should be 1+1. Any pattern is fine, but it can't have good camouflage.
Your goal is to create a driving species. Still, all mutations are determined by a random generator. You can't breed in wanderers, unless you have 'unlocked' their genes. So if your line has claw + no paw + no horns + derp at best, a possible mate must have no paw + any paw + no horns + derp. Try not to invite them anyway, unless you're starving. In that case, having them gather food is fine.
I recommend starting with an immortal, infertile story teller for that purpose. Don't have them fight, but give them any traits you like. They're your third starter and food gatherer. Silver would fit with armored body and scorpion tail. Setting wise, default is fine. You don't want them to live very long, but without dying fast from damage. Starting food is 50-100 for three nichelings on default.

Sleepy reeds, no doubt. If you're lucky, you can go directly for crossing via whale island afterwards. But there is an achievement for letting the snow melt, I think, so you might want to consider Summer Mountains

Might want to close and reload the game. The only option is waiting, even if it sucks. Most have that one achievement they struggle with. The raccoon one was my last to unlock, despite trying multiple times with 'right' patterns. Rage quit material.

Well, if it's not custom, it can take a while. Got the one for 500 instantly, but 1000 on day 1003 or something. It's glitchy

Is this a custom setting? All achievements are locked with these. Still, if you feel cheated, the time travel issue with weather cheats might still exist. You can get to day 1000 though, with minimal effort, if you reuse the same tribe for challenges.
I'm a terrible person.
